COURSE OBJECTIVES

To develop communicative competence and business vocabulary knowledge 

To provide students with the necessary skills for effective professional managerial communication

To practise business register awareness through the drafting of various business documents

LEARNING OUTCOMES

After having taken this course, participants will be able to/are expected to know or understand (knowledge-based outcomes)

• LO1 Intercultural negotiation techniques, language of negotiation

• LO2 Ethical communication in business

More specifically, participants should be able to (skill- and competency-based outcomes)

• LO3 handle crisis communication in English

• LO4 participate actively and effectively in professional managerial situations (negotiation meetings, written communication, business presentations)

PREREQUISITES

Students are expected have reached at least a C1 level to be comfortable in this course. Remedial resources will be available at the beginning of the semester on Blackboard if extra grammatical and/or lexical work is needed.
