The Department of Theatre Arts creates live theatre to engage an audience and illuminate the human condition. Absurd Person Singular by Alan Ayckbourn Documents the changing fortunes of three married couples. Each of three acts takes place at a Christmas celebration at one of the couples’ homes on successive Christmas Eves. Love’s Labor’s Lost by William Shakespeare The King and three noble companions take an oath to devote themselves to three years of study without giving in to women—then all fall comically in love with the princess and her ladies. Urinetown by Mark Hallmannby Satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics—and parodizes other musicals.
