The Alchemy of Transforming Fear BY

Fear, that little 4 letter word with a big response from an emotional and physiological perspective. Fear is often a precursor to anxiety and vice versa. To differentiate and simplify, fear is typically an emotional response to a known threat that offers important information in relation to preserving our safety. Anxiety tends to arise from unknown and uncertain potentials in life, and it can be acute or chronic in nature. Anxiety can relate to past traumatic experiences or current day stressors, such as economic hardships, physical health concerns (our own or our loved ones), relationships, and career challenges. Fear and anxiety can elevate stress and cortisol levels in the body, creating physiological and emotional imbalances, affect our ability to connect authentically with ourselves, and hinder our ability to make clear decisions. The good news? We don’t have to be ruled by our fear and anxiety. a

Consider these points to assist you with your anxieties:

It is the mind-body connection guiding you with information about some aspect of your life (body, mind, spirit) Embrace your anxieties as emissaries of healing and transformation by practicing acceptance, love and compassion for you and your unique journey.

Cultivate a daily gratitude practice to focus on all of your blessings.

Meditate for at least 5 minutes a day to expand, connect and commune with an energy greater than your own. Prayer and other sacred intentional practices expand our understanding.

The past two years have provided so many opportunities for fear to manifest in all areas of our lives. The pandemic has impacted the physical, mental, and emotional components of our bodies. As a medical intuitive/healer/chiropractor, I find fear in every molecule, organ, and system of the body. It can manifest as muscle tension (headaches, neck pain, low back pain, jaw pain), skin rashes, sleep deprivation, weight gain/loss, a feeling of chaos, anxiety or depression and overall stress.

Fear and anxiety cause a decrease in immune system efficiency.

The stress of the pandemic, the use of chemicals, poor nutrition choices, lack of sunshine, lack of sleep and lack of human contact makes it harder for the body to fight and maintain homeostasis. That is where I have influence on clients’ bodies through adjustments, energy work, wellness and nutrition education and grace.

I approach clients, whether vaccinated or not, with an open mind and believe everyone gets to decide what’s right for them.

The wonderful thing about informed consent is that two people when presented with the same information, can make two completely different choices and neither of them is right nor wrong. That is what medical freedom is and should be!

When I adjust clients, it realigns the nervous system, the control center for the whole body. It supports your immune system by resetting the neurological pathways to and from the brain. The energy work I provide can boost healing chemicals, reduce inflammation, and send the body a signal to repair and regenerate itself.

I suggest natural supplements, a balance of work and play, and random acts of kindness. Get outside and be adventurous! Nature has a positive effect on happiness and exercise will help with fear. Kindness is a powerful pillar of happiness and doesn’t cost anything.

Kicking Through Fear BY

Fear can stop us in our tracks, trapping us in negative energies from the past. It can also be the impetus to drive us into our destiny… propelling us into our future. At its core, fear manifests in the mind, resulting in uneasiness, anxiety, and worry about the unknown. And as uncomfortable as it can be, maybe fear plays an important role in our lives. It reminds me of the spring equinox...

After being surrounded in darkness all winter, spring moves us into a new state of being. We are waking up and emerging into the dark. At the equinox, there is a balance of dark and light. But as tempting as the light can be, sometimes we want to stay in the dark so we don't have to face our new (unknown) future.

I have been at the crossroads of fear at different times in my life. I grew up in the energy of fear. My mother was a strong, take-charge person, and didn’t look like a fearful person. But underneath she had many fears, especially of being alone. Growing up in this loving home I was very fortunate to have had no actual physical experiences of fear. Yet in my early adult years, I still sensed and carried my mother’s fear.

Many years ago, I was at the crossroads of encountering my intense fear. There was a woman raped and badly beaten a few blocks from where I lived with my young family. My fear was no longer underneath but rose to the surface with a vengeance. I stayed in my fear for several days not wanting to even leave my house. I felt powerless. I knew this was not how I wanted to live.

It was time for me to move my fears into the light. It was time to balance my dark fears with the light of confidence.

An inner voice message came to me. I need to take karate to learn how to defend myself. I was the least likely person to study karate. I had never been in a physical fight and was not active in sports. First in my inner being, then in my physical body.

I learned how to use my energy and become aware of my environment. I learned how to kick through boards and break bricks and how to fight. Once I learned how to fight, I also learned that I didn’t have to fight to be confident and powerful.

It took me seven years to earn my black belt in karate.

Now if the dark of fear comes into my life, I remember that I can balance it with my light of confidence. A new adventure of love and light begins! a

Mind-Body Insight on the Impact of Fear BY

In Holistic Medicine, there is a saying: “Fear eats the light – Light dissipates Fear.” How do we see this impact the mind (information), body (matter), soul (energy)? Think of the last time something scared or startled you. Many people’s instinct is to jump just slightly, then maybe to run the other direction - or possibly at it to fight.

That moment when you jumped just slightly is Kidney 1 (Ki1) disconnecting from the ground energy. If it doesn’t reconnect, or you’re unable to process the trauma around that fear, over time we theoretically would see issues through the Kidney system. Some of the first signs of this are the shoulders slumped forward - partially a subconscious attempt to protect the heart, lungs and other vital organs in the chest - though also physical strength to stand tall is starting to diminish.

Areas that are connected to that vital Kidney Chi (Qi) are obviously the kidneys, but also the shoulders, knees, and bones. Remember the old saying after someone was frightened: “That chilled me to the bone”.

So, how can you counter this, naturally? One way is by activating your Kidney Chi and the Ki1 point (lots of root work). Soul Painting AN EXPLORATION OF THE SPIRITUAL REALM

That was the first time Risë saw her deceased friend in her mind’s eye.

Irene was there, looking over the entire event, smiling.

At the time, Risë could hardly believe what she was seeing, but she soon found out that wasn’t the last time her late friend would pay her a friendly visit.

Anne was inspired to start painting in 2017 after receiving messages from a former colleague and friend, Irene, who died within three weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.

When Irene became sick, Anne and another mutual friend, Risë Severson Kasmirski, spent as much time together as they could.

Anne and Risë remember visiting Irene in hospice…

“I asked Irene if she would please come back. I wanted to see the colors. I wanted to know what she was doing on the other side. I wanted to know everything that was happening over there,” Risë recalls.

After Irene passed, Risë volunteered to do the eulogy at her celebration of life.

Over the next few months, Risë saw Irene all the time… riding in the car with her, sitting on the couch in her house, standing in crowds of people, and eventually in her dreams.

Flash forwards a year later, Risë and Anne sought out spiritual guidance from an intuitive. They each booked separate individual sessions, but to their surprise, Irene came through with messages for both of them.

Risë was encouraged to journal and write a book describing her mystical

experiences with the other side. Anne’s message from Irene was more cryptic:

If you want to know where to focus for growth, look at what triggers you in your environment and relationships. Whatever bothers you the most is the area that needs the most inner work and healing.

Our triggers are tied to what we believe and value. The more rigid our belief systems, the less acceptance and love we have for those who do not fit within them. Some people will even turn away from loved ones who do not agree with the dogmas they feel are important. This too reflects our inner state of being and is another way to identify what’s in need of healing.

Deep down we all struggle with core issues of rejection, abandonment, and loss, and we all have a storyline or sub issues attached to these three collective core issues. The crux of these story lines is that we all feel a lack of self-love and a lack of self-confidence on some level. This in turn keeps us tied into the collective dogmas and programming, which makes it hard for us to feel loved and secure. The challenge is that sticking with the divisive dogmas doesn’t breed true love and connection––it breeds a false state of security from which we need to heal.

Here’s How We Can Heal Healing takes inner work. We need to learn to let go of the old beliefs, memories, emotions, patterns, hurts, and behaviors that no longer serve us. Each issue needs to be healed on a mental, emotional, and physical level––and they don’t necessarily all heal at the same time or in a linear fashion.

It takes time to release and heal the core issues we’ve come in to work on. Counseling provides a clearer understanding of oneself and there are many tools, such as energy work, guided imagery, hypnosis, EMDR, acupuncture, and chiropractic care, that can help your emotions and body to let go more deeply and fully. Living Well and Dying Well (with a Diagnosis...)

Health and wellness are relative. What is health? What is wellness? Can we be “well” while also having a physical illness or disability? There are few things more frightening that getting a diagnosis of ill health, and worse, one that includes a projection of a terminal illness.

I will never forget the way I felt the day the gastroenterologist approached me with the news that the endoscopy he’d just performed on my significant other, Brent, was very likely esophageal cancer. I was so completely stunned I had no words. However, as I was to learn, Brent’s perspective on the diagnosis was entirely different.

One of the big lessons I learned from Brent as I walked the journey of his cancer and death with him, was nonattachment to outcomes. He believed that life is what it is, and that wanting it to be otherwise is at best, an effort in futility. People who are diagnosed with terrible diseases often chase cures, spending precious time on the Internet tracking down doctors, hospitals, and alternative therapies in an attempt to change the outcome. Their total focus becomes their body.

Brent did not choose that path. He believed in nonattachment to outcomes and did not want to spend the time he had left in this dimension trying to alter an outcome that he knew— his death would come sooner than he’d expected it—so he embraced his life as it was. He was not focused on his body or illness, and in fact rarely thought about it.

Consequently he didn’t experience much pain except what would be normal after surgery.

He never allowed the fact that he had cancer to be at the forefront of his life. He went back to work after his surgery, met with clients and continued to be the same funny guy he’d always been. He bought a new Corvette because, as Brent put it, when one is a “short-timer” one must enjoy the finer things in life,” and we continued our activities with the Corvette club to which we belonged. He used to say, “I have cancer, the cancer doesn’t have me.”

Health and wellness can be as much a state of mind as a condition of the physical body. Brent understood that he didn’t have to be perfectly healthy to feel “well” so having cancer was just a side-trip on the journey. It was Brent’s matter-of-fact attitude about his diagnosis that gave me the strength to walk this path with him. It also helped me understand what Buddhism teaches as having a “good death.”

I also learned that crisis produces an opportunity to stretch oneself spiritually, to grow, to realize what is important in life and what is not. If we see all events as opportunities to grow—even the events we do not want—we begin to understand their meaning to us. At that point we can know what it is like to be well, even in the face of physical ailments and death.

Many people blame God when something happens to them such as terminal illness, but Brent didn’t believe in “God” per se, yet he had a feeling of something universal that was guiding him and providing a peacefulness that he’d always experienced in his life.

Death is something that we do alone.

No one can die for us. We must experience

it for ourselves. But dying well is not a passive activity. Death is not something that happens to us; we can participate in the process once we know how to die. Sometimes the process can take days or weeks before the final breath is drawn, or death can come quickly with hardly a moment to think about it. Hence, we need to be prepared for our death.

Cultures such as those in the Far East see death as a beautiful, experiential transition to the next realm, where one awaits one’s next birth into yet another life. The transition is eased through a series of rituals, including the reading of texts such as The Tibetan Book of the Dead, to help the soul leave peacefully and gently. It is said that people who fight death have a difficult time on the astral plane or the bardo state, a Tibetan Buddhists call it.

In Buddhism there is a saying: “Death is certain, the time of our death is uncertain.”

Being prepared for death is achieved by living a fearless life.

The Cannabis Nurse BY

Greetings! I’m Nate, your Cannabis Nurse and navigator into CBD. Have you ever had questions about the use of cannabis in your life but don’t know where to turn to gather your information? Good news, I am here to start the conversation while providing you quality information from a reliable source.

I haven’t always been a Cannabis Nurse. I actually have a unique background that encompasses cannabis from different angles. As a teen, I experimented with cannabis in the form of marijuana. It was nothing more than an experimental phase in my life, which soon shifted towards a different direction. After high school, I obtained an Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement from the local community college in my town. While I was earning my degree, I began working as a Correctional Officer at the Minnesota Department of Corrections. From this angle I was able to learn the legal framework that encompasses the world of cannabis, as well as the ramifications of not adhering to the laws that surround it.

Over time, I experienced burnout that many Correctional Officers do and sought out a new path. So, I enrolled back into college and obtained an Associate’s degree in Nursing. As a nurse, I specialized in the fields of oncology, palliative care, and hospice. The nurses on our floor worked with some of the sickest patients in the hospital, many who were at the end of their life. I would often have patients expand their care by adding in alternative options, like cannabis.

Some of these patients had impressive symptom management. I credit them for opening my eyes to this wonderful herb.

I knew I wanted to be more involved and immediately began taking courses to increase my education. The most comprehensive course was conducted by the American Cannabis Nursing Association (ACNA) and The Medical Cannabis Institute and really increased my level of knowledge in regards to cannabis as a beneficial tool for symptom management. The various cannabinoids in the cannabis plant each have their own benefit. The most commonly known and most commonly found cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), which can be found in both marijuana and hemp.

To better understand, a little education will be needed.

Marijuana and hemp are both considered cannabis. There are

many types of cannabis with varying properties.

Marijuana has more psychoactive properties because it has increased levels of THC, a psychoactive cannabinoid, and usually has lower levels of CBD. When you ingest it, you feel the psychoactive properties. Hemp contains CBD and THC as well, but hemp is federally regulated to contain a THC level of 0.3% or less by dry weight and usually has increased levels of CBD, which is great for inflammation relief in the body.

When you ingest hemp products, like CBD oil, you do not typically have an elevating psychoactive feeling because the THC exists in trace amounts. Both THC and CBD can be found in the resinous glands of the cannabis flower. Marijuana is not legal in every state and neither is the CBD found within. However, CBD derived from hemp is federally legal and legal in all states.

In an attempt to be more involved in the industry, I co-created and co-own a hemp CBD Farm and Retail store called Holistic Wellness Services. Our small family business grows our own hemp, extracts the cannabinoids, and creates full-spectrum CBD products in the form of CBD tincture oil, salves for pain and healing, lip balms, and much more. Solar Attunement brings flowing cosmic light into your body /

1) In a comfortable position suitable for meditation, visualize a brilliant solar orb about twelve inches above your head.

2) Now, you have activated the solar orb 12 inches above your head, Bring the image of the solar orb from above your head into your frontal body. Inhale as long as you can while you bring the golden solar light into all seven chakras simultaneously. Breathe in as deeply as you can and feel the golden light and warmth of the Sun within all of your chakras.

3) At the very top of your inhale, hold your breath as long as you can, so that you can also feel the resonance, the vibration, of the Sun with its golden light expanding as deeply and powerfully as possible into your entire body.

4) When you can no longer comfortably retain your breath, then exhale as slowly as possible and recite the mantra OM, focusing the mantra OM into all seven chakras.

5) At the bottom of the exhaled breath, hold your breathing cycle again as long as you possibly can so that you can again feel the vibration of the solar golden light and the sound of the mantra OM in your entire body.

6) Now, again focus the orb of solar light at the top of your head and visualize this bright golden orb about twelve inches above the head flowing down into the top of your head.

7) Now, on the inhaled breath, bring the golden orb of light downwards, descending from the top of the head into the forehead, the throat, the heart, the solar plexus, the navel and the sacrum in order to bring the solar light and radiance into each of the chakral centers progressively.

8) As the solar orb of light descends downwards, try to inhale as slowly as possible so that the movement of the golden orb of light is also slow enough so that you can feel the heat and the brilliance of the golden light as much as possible.

9) Now, hold your breath again to feel the resonance/vibration of the light in each chakra. When you exhale, again recite the mantra OM into all seven chakras. Then suspend your breath again to feel the resonance of the sound of the mantra OM in all of your chakral centers.

10) Now, allow the meditation to return to silence, and remain in silence, that is remain in Presence, as long as possible.

You may choose to repeat this attunement often.

Connecting with Your Spirit Guides BY

What is a spirit guide? Our spirit guides are simply souls like you and I that are not incarnated right now, that choose to help us while we are here on earth. From our perspective in the physical, we can only see what is right in front of us. We have a limited ability to see into the future and to predict the consequences of our actions. Spirit Guides have a different and higher perspective. As they reside in the astral realm, they can see the potential outcomes of our actions before we make them.

Spirit guides are loving; they want us to succeed, and they have our best interest at heart. If you are getting information that is hateful, or harmful, rest assured it is not your guide.

What are the benefits of connecting with our spirit guides? There are big benefits to connecting with our spirit guides. They offer their companionship—which helps us feel safe. They can help us make decisions—especially big ones—so we feel confident in the actions and choices we are making.

Most importantly, they can help us realize that we are not alone and that we have a team that is always rooting for us, cheering for us, and guiding us. Our guides can be that light in the dark showing the way forward.

How do you connect with your spirit guides? When starting out I recommend taking some time to quiet down and relax your mind and body before trying to connect. As you communicate more often, it will be easier to make the connection and with less preparation. Now I will walk you through a process on how to connect with one of your spirit guides.

First sit somewhere quiet. Take a few deep breaths. Take some time to feel into your body, dropping out of the mind. How does your body feel? Now take a few moments to scan around your body. How does the space around your body feel?

When you are ready, ask one of your spirit guides to step forward physically around you. Take your time as you sense where your guide is. Notice how the space around you feels different now that your guide is there.

Next, what does their presence feel like? Find out what other information you can sense about them. Are they short or tall? Male or female? What is their skin color? What kind of clothing are they wearing?

When you feel ready, ask your guide for a message. When you are asking for a message from your guide stay focused on where you feel them around you, that is your focal point as you receive their message. As you are focused on them, what thoughts do you hear from your guide? What feelings do you feel from your guide? What images do you see from your guide? If the message does not seem clear, ask your guide to elaborate. You can dialogue back and forth with your guides as you would with another person. When you are finished, thank your guide for their help.

If at first, you struggle with doubt and are not sure if you are doing this right. That is ok. Like any other skill, practice is needed to improve and to feel confident. With practice you can get better at communicating and navigating the nuances of what is and isn’t your guide. We all have room to grow, and bit by bit I am improving and so can you. The big takeaway I want to leave you with is that you—yes you—can connect with your spirit guides. It is possible and you already have the ability right now. a

ow do you communicate with Spirit? How do you know when something “bigger” is speaking to you? Do your hands get hot, your ears start to ring, or maybe you see colors in the form of rainbows? For Kimberly Meredith, her eyes blink. Blinking eyes have been her connection to Spirit since she was a baby.

As with many people who are intuitive, especially as children, Kimberly’s gifts were not in her mother’s wheelhouse. After bringing up the word “reincarnation” in school, at the tender age of seven, Kimberly was slapped by her mother and told to stop. Stop blinking. And so she did. “I really just wanted to make my mom happy.”

The journey begins. In 2013, Kimberly had a near-death experience. She left her body, but when she came back into her body, with a lot of pain and suffering, she realized she was blinking again. The gift she abandoned as a little girl was back.

When I was not yet old enough for kindergarten, I would often leave behind my baby brother, who was still in cloth diapers and in need of my mother’s watchful eye, and wander off by myself to explore the town and countryside near my home in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Neither of my parents realized that my sense of adventure bordered on the foolhardy. Oblivious to the possibility of being hit by a speeding streetcar or falling onto the road below, I played on a dangerous trestle that spanned a nearby road. Confident I could navigate using only my homing sense, I didn’t announce when I was going out for a walk that might take me far from our house.

Since I always showed up in time for lunch or supper, my distracted mother apparently didn’t worry about whether I was somewhere in the woods or upstairs in my room.

Among my discoveries was a stream that ran through a valley about a mile away.

Thickets lined its banks, and I picked my way through them to stand and watch the water leaping and lifting over stones in its path. The trunks of the trees were covered in lichen that to my eyes seemed like maps from an ancient world. The buckeyes yielded a prized harvest of nuts that I would collect and carry home.

I also felt the urge to investigate the small farm that bordered the hillside at the end of our street. One day when I was five, I stepped onto the property and suddenly, a glowing, ethereal light appeared to encircle the apple tree in front of me. Time seemed to be suspended as my mind struggled to grasp what was happening. The tree, the sky, the land, and I were one, connected by the light.

Was I alive? In a world of dreams? The light seemed to weave together everything in the field, including me, unifying all that existed.

There was no separation, no aloneness. All were intermingled in a field of energy, every tree aware of its every leaf and every leaf aware of every insect, bird, and ray of sunlight.

I had never felt anything like this before.

Then, just as abruptly, the light around the tree faded, and I was back in the ordinary world. Before me was just a tree like any other.
