Happiness is a soothing fog filled with a chance to surrender all control

by Tim Miejan s I walk in the fog this morning, sensing the dampness on my cold cheeks, watching cars drive into the cloud bank and disappear, I wonder how different life would be if I truly believed that I am the limitless being of pure potential that wise thinkers tell me I am.

I hear geese overhead but I cannot not see them.

They honk as they fly blind through the white dew, relying only on instincts to get to where they are going.

But we are not geese.

We find it nearly impossible to follow our innate instincts that guide us through life. We don’t trust that we will be safe, so we take the controls and overcompensate and crash again and again.

When I cover my eyes and am alone within myself, I know that all things are possible. When I uncover my eyes, I see images of war on TV and hear the shouting and the cries of despair of those who are fearful and believe the end is near.

This age of change is challenging to all of us.

We all feel the fear. Don’t believe this is the way things have to be.

I felt like I lost my moorings a couple years ago. I found myself living by rote, no longer able to sense the magic of life that excites my soul. So I stepped outside of what was expected. I shook things up and moved my wife and pets and myself four hours away from everyone we knew.

One could say it was an experiment of driving headlong into the fog to see if we could find our way somewhere new. I think sometimes we need to lose our bearings — to find ourselves. The vision quest.

My key to happiness is in surrendering — being able to give up having to be in control. I enjoy the peaceful breath that comes with being in the flow. I find it easier now to sense the resistance that results when I try to steer my life against the natural compass within my being.

I’m far from where I want to be, because I still find myself, on occasion, acting as if I don’t have a selfaware bone in my body.

2012 & OUR INNER TRANSFIGURATION LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

by Michele Mayama ith all the predictions for the closing month of 2012, especially 12-12-12 and 12-21-12, it is easy to be focused outside of oneself and expect to see some radical shift in the world or our own lives. I do sense a real shift happening this year, but it is not yet so visible and will still take some time to manifest over the next several years.

I spent most of 2012 in a deep still silence, pulling back from teaching, opening up more personal time and space, and generally feeling very little energy to initiate or do anything beyond the basics. I felt as if I was in an ocean of presence, a quiet womblike place. Within it, all my energy and attention was drawn in to undertake a deep process of reconfiguring my energetic and physical bodies. As the year proceeded, I began to feel my entire chakra system moving through a radical shift of structure.

I still have limited language to describe how it functions, but I know a new human operating system is evolving with a design that works efficiently within the

New Dimension. It cannot interact with anything that is not authentic, real or of essence. All old illusions and constrictions are being identified and released, since they cannot weave in to the new design.

To support you in this process, I would like to share some of what I have learned that is part of this deep organic inner transfiguration. Each of the following is interrelated with the rest: 1. Practice bringing your attention (Third Eye) back and down. Join your focus

with your experience, your heart, your inner child, your needs, and specifically sense what has energy and what does not. All of the chakras first need to heal and move out of adaptation so they function the way they are designed, before they can shift to the new operating system. Chakras can no longer be pulled forward by cords or sensors out the front or be constricted by unprocessed emotions from the past, leading to pressure in the spine or back. When you catch yourself focusing on the future or into other people’s experience or field, consciously choose to pull back and ask,

“What am I feeling, what do I need, what awareness is surfacing for me?”

2. Sort out what belongs to you and what does not. We can only process

and assimilate what is ours — and we cannot assimilate what is not. That seems simple, but we are given the energy to do what is ours to create. If there is no energy, we must use our will power to force, push or drive us to do what we are not sourced to do — and that life force is then diverted from what it would have been used for. We often wear out more easily and do not have energy to accomplish what our souls would choose. This deep shift takes a lot of energy!

3. Release responsibility for what belongs to others. Realize that each

person has their own experience designed to bring them to their own awareness or healing. Their emotion and experience is specific to their soul’s growth and evolution. Practice honoring that for yourself, while also honoring others. Most of us get mixed up with other people and what belongs to them

by either assuming we know what they need better than they do, or we allow others to affect and influence us. We can end up thinking about, defending and trying to process assumptions, conclusions or emotions that belong to someone else.

4. Notice where you make assumptions and use those assumptions to form conclusions about what you make real.

What we make real, we realize in our experience. When we allow old false assumptions, such as “I’m not good enough as I am,” or false guilt, such as “I caused another person’s experience, I am to blame,” to live as if they are real, we contract within and cannot receive. We grew up inside others’ false assumptions about life, about us, about God, or about reality that we could sense were not true, but we did not know how to sort them out without feeling as if we would be punished or lose love and acceptance. So those false conclusions got in and were made real.

Usually these assumptions live in the space created when there was a broken trust experience.

5. Release defenses and the fear that runs the fight-or-flight system. Defenses and protec-

tions were designed when we gave reality to a limited perception or assumption about an event or we were not supported enough at the time to process the experience to full awareness.

Fear lives where awareness or light or love could not get in. If someone says something to or about you, if it is resonant you will relax and use it, rather like food that has exactly what your body needs. If it is not resonant, you will constrict or resist. If you defend, explain, analyze, rationalize or work it through your mind, you are taking in what cannot process and making it real. Practice noticing where you relax in the presence of truth and where you constrict in the presence of falsehood.

Applying this to your past will assist the inner child/heart to release what has been stored, because it could not process

scary lies through to awareness.

6. Relax into Love and open to heal places of broken trust.

Wherever you have a sense of fear or resistance to receiving or taking in, there is an old wound where you were open to trust or had a trust bond with someone that was injured or severed. Your soul is wise and knows your unique path to heal, but as long as your reference is the old story and how that story is interpreted, then consciousness continues to refer to that as more real than new possibilities. Relaxing into trust that Love is everywhere you are — and including every experience you have ever had — helps soften the resistance and opens the movement that is needed to process the wound to healing and completion.

7. Call back all aspects of self that fragmented along the way.

Broken trust often leads to fragmentation: parts of our being do not know how to stay present due to fear, trauma, false assumptions and perceptions believed to be real, or any number of other painful experiences. Most often, our souls fragment out the base of the skull as a safer way to dissociate instead of leaving through the Crown chakra where we pass out of the body at death.

Recovering soul aspects fill in gaps and holes within our system and speed up the recovery of our chakra system to its original design. Becoming more whole and filled with soul can also free up externalized compulsions to fill our holes with substitutes such as food, substances, people, business, exercise, etc.

Each soul has its own unique unfolding sequence as we are called into being part of a new creation. Relax into Love, trust your own process, and know that you have all that you need. a Michele Mayama is a transformational healer and channel. december 2012: bring it on What are you waiting for? Worry not, wonder not and hope not for any December 21 solstice event

W

e have arrived at December 2012, the month prophesied as a turning point in human history. Much ado has been devoted to the December 21 solstice date. The Mayan calendar is said to end here; some soothsayers predict the end of the world; others predict the beginning. Groups are gathering at the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Machu Picchu and sacred sites around the planet. All year people have been asking me, “What do you think will happen on December 21st?” I recently picked up a hitchhiker who asked me this very question. Millions of people are wondering, some are fearing, and others are hoping.

I believe there is a core of truth to the import of this date, sprinkled with a generous helping of bunk. Perhaps the date is less about cosmic significance, and more of a seminar in which we face the hopes and fears we have projected onto it. To those who have asked me about it, I suggest that we take our power back — from externally issued predictions and astrological configurations — and tap into a place of choice within us. What would you like to happen? How can you participate in making it happen? Are you waiting for God or the planets to change your life, or a savior to descend from a cloud and rescue you from hardship? Or are you willing and ready to build the life you would choose by elevating your consciousness and actions to match the circumstances you desire?

If anything cosmic occurs — and I certainly hope it will — it will not be because someone out there is doing it to us or for us. It will be because humanity (or at least a portion of it) has evolved to the point where we are ready for it. The planets, ETs and the Mayan calendar do not create our experience.

They reflect it. Over millions of years of reaching for more, the human race has arrived at a point where we are ready for better. A positive turn of events accompanying the solstice represents the culmination of that growth and awakening.

I personally don’t believe anything dramatic will happen on that date, unless people create something dramatic. I believe that we will enter a new season of humanity. Just as the spring equinox signifies the gentle entry of spring, and the temperature does not automatically rise to 70 degrees just because the calendar says so, I expect a gradual turning toward more good. The more you expect drama, the more you will get it. The more you move gently and firmly ahead,

the more solid will be your growth and experience.

There will always be people who use the date to reinforce stinky, stale beliefs in damnation and the wrath of God. Let them rant. They are having great fun scaring themselves and each other. But if terror is not your idea of entertainment, you don’t need to go there. Let the damned be damned and let the blessed be blessed. Everyone is creating their own experience. One day the damned will be damn tired of being damned, and they will choose to be blessed, as they are, as we all are.

Perhaps the people who will suffer most are those who have had a field day capitalizing on the 2012 phenomenon.

Many filmmakers, authors, seminar leaders and preachers have jumped on the bandwagon to profit from the hype.

Certainly many of these people are sincere and their points are well taken and helpful. Yet, another portion are simply opportunists. They will experience the end of their world, or at least its latest chapter. But I do have a prediction: If nothing world shaking happens on December 21, the exploiters will retool and either say that the date was miscalculated and focus their sensationalism toward a later date, or they will find another cosmic cause to hype. And the beat goes on. Ho hum.

Eckhart Tolle declared, “Suffering needs time.” This pithy statement implies that any event in time is subject to suffering, because time is an illusion and we are bigger than it. He goes on to say, “It [suffering] cannot survive in the now.” Tolle has mined gold here. Why make a big deal about events in time? Why not dive into the eternal now moment and let time take care of itself? As Ram Dass said in his classic book Be Here Now, “If you can be here now, when ‘then’ becomes ‘now,” you will have superconsciousness and superawareness and know exactly what to do.”

So I suggest you worry not, wonder not and hope not for any event associated with the December 21st solstice.

A more powerful approach is to live fully in the present moment. If you waste the now by thinking or worrying about the future, when the future comes you won’t be there to receive it. It’s all a lot simpler than we have been told.

I wish you and the planet an awesome December 21st. I am looking forward to it. I think it’s a fabulous opportunity for us to live what we believe. But then again, we can do that right now. STAR: Now State of Being

by Nina Brown ow are we to “Be” in the New Earth? STAR is the answer. A new age brings with it a new paradigm; a new way of living our life. The old ways of force, fear, sorrow are to go. The new is to enter: Surrender, Trust, Allow and Receive (STAR).

Two key components will guide us into the New Earth: knowing who we are and living in the Now Moment. Most of humanity believes they are the physical vessel from which their soul expresses, but they overlook the soul’s expression. Their daily choices are governed by their ego self, which is thinking hard about what job to get, where to live, how to survive and all of the other mind-centered activities of getting through life.

The ego self has been in charge for eons, but that is coming to an end with the advent of the New Earth. It will lose control in the elevated frequencies and radiance of the crystalline grid, which will be fully online December 12, 2012, and ignited on December 21, 2012. On winter solstice 2012, Gaia will connect to the crystalline grid and duality will lose its power. We are witnessing expanded awareness of our human divinity and the softening of our ego selves as each day passes.

As we learn to live our lives in wholeness with the full acceptance that we are divine humans — an individual aspect of All That Is — we will choose our life experiences from the Now Moment of being. Suffering from the past and fear of the future will not control life circumstances. And we will begin to attract different experiences. In the words

How do we support the Now State of Being as divine humans in the New Earth?

STAR is again the answer. Surrender to the knowing that you are the One Consciousness experiencing. Trust that wholeness will catch you as you jump off the cliff in the new way of experiencing. Allow what the One Consciousness chooses for your life’s expression as being perfect in every way imaginable. Leigh, your Moonlight & Magic expo will be returning for the second year to the Twin Cities. What was the original inspiration for this event?

Leigh Cohen Wyatt: I wanted to put some-

thing out to the community that was new and fresh. I wanted to bring the magic back. After participating in many expos and looking at what was being offered, I relied upon my visual and creative sensibilities to create something that was more supportive of the expo vendors and the public at large. No more bright lights and having vendors crammed in next to each other. I knew I could do it better — and different.

What makes Moonlight & Magic different from other New Age expos?

LCW: The themes. I put together a party.

The first Moonlight & Magic expo was about Fairies, the second one was about the Harvest Moon, and this one is about Santa’s Workshop. I decorate the room, and the vendors dress up their booths and themselves to complement the theme. And in addition to just having a theme, I take it one step further. I

each other, network with each other and work well together. There’s no ego.

There’s no greed. I don’t permit any of that within my expos.

So I entrust this combination of people to work together smoothly and enlighten the attendees and share their wisdom with them. Together, we create a heightened, energetic field. I like to say, “You’re going to walk into this room and feel the elevated energy, but the goal is to walk out with more confidence than you had when you arrived.”

I get the sense that this is a family friendly event. What does Moonlight & Magic offer for children?

LCW: Lots of things! We will have a story-

create an inspiration and an energy in these events. It’s something that the vendors and the attendees find very rewarding. I’m allowing them to be children again. Our vendors come into it with a sense of having fun. Yes, it’s work.

Yes, you’re creating your business. Yes, you’re networking. But why not bring that magic back and have fun while you’re doing it?

That’s the thought process behind Moonlight & Magic. I do these every three to four months, so you can guarantee there’s going to be a different theme for every expo. And for each one, I bring in something unique. For Santa’s Workshop, I’m bringing in a Santa sleigh, decorating the room with Christmas trees, and making the whole experience filled with the magic of Christmas.

You have indicated that your intent for Moonlight & Magic is to bring together some of the most enlightened readers and vendors. How do you measure that sense of enlightenment and how can attendees determine that?

LCW: I’m an intuitive myself — I’m a

psychic life coach — so it’s all about energy for me. It’s all about character, attitude and behavior. When I meet and talk with people, I know within the first three minutes if they will complement my event. So it’s about creating a collaboration of people who I’ve been fortunate enough to bring together under one roof — people who support

If the parents want to do a little shopping or attend a workshop, they know their children are safe with the Storyteller. And each show offers something for the children. Parents who bring their children can be assured that everyone will have a really good time.

What takes place at your medium gathering, “Let Their Voices Be Heard?”

LCW: It features three of the best

mediums in the area who present in a gallery setting, but what’s different in my event compared to others I have attended is that this is not just entertainment. This is an event for people who want to connect with their loved ones from the Other Side. It’s done ethically and with honesty. We know we are dealing with people’s grief and sorrow and emotions, so all of the mediums at my shows display a high sense of compassion for the people who come to connect with their loved ones who have passed.

There is a highly elevated energy in the room, and having three mediums taking part, the interaction between them is phenomenal. We do a round robin approach that allows equal time for each medium throughout the gathering.

God With Us A Christmas Story

his is a channeled story that Mother Mary told me, and a discussion I had with Jesus in December 2005.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, gave a speech at the United Nations at that time, and while speaking, many people in attendance saw him surrounded with white light. I heard a report of the light surrounding him by Jim Lehrer on the “PBS News Hour.”

Mother Mary: Immanuel means God with us. This is the meaning that Joseph and I took from the angel’s message, and we expected that this child would bring the presence of God to our lives and the lives of many people. We had no idea how the child would do this: at what age, to what people, etc. We were quite struck by the angel’s message: “Do not be afraid, for I am providing you with the way to make these events come to pass. If you do not wish to take on the task of bearing and rearing this child, then you need not do so, for we wish to honor your choice. Your life with this child will not be easy, but will be rich and challenging.”

Joseph and I spoke together at great length when the angel departed. We discussed what difficulties we might face, and held each other close, to face and cope with our fears. What would it mean to have a child who would make God manifest to humans? The God we knew was deep, demanding, paradoxical, unpredictable, and potentially destructive. What would a child do who would embody these characteristics? Would it be possible to have other children, and a normal family life? If we didn’t take on this task, who would do it? Why were we chosen? We didn’t feel so different from all the people around us. Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…You’ve been wrestling subconsciously with an old belief system that limits the scope of what you can do in the world. The New Moon on the 13th asks you to consciously meet this belief system and intentionally release it from your life. Fortunately, Jupiter and Mercury team up to make this surprisingly easy! You were born to lead and to blaze new trails through the world, and it’s time to get going.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…Mars in your house of higher consciousness is driving you to get in touch with your subconscious beliefs about what it means to be in a healthy relationship. Start by acknowledging how much you can afford to give without compromising yourself.

Defining what integrity means in your relationships is the key to reaching the next level of abundance.

We are on our own path, yet never alone

I

dedicate the final article of this series to a special friend. May his brilliance, gentle spirit, sensitive nature, and creative talents remain an inspiration to others. Jacob Peckels, I loved you while you walked in this world and continue to love you knowing that you are in a peaceful place.

What have I learned from cancer, the stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast? It is a teacher. And it is not something to be afraid of but to attend to.

It is an indicator that one’s thoughts, beliefs, physical and emotional being, environment and circumstances are out of balance.

Finding meaning in my current experience

This past July I took a solo canoe trip, my 17th in the past 19 years. It is proving to be a profound metaphor for my life. My relationship with the spirit of my beloved Quetico Provincial Park (Canada’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area) is one of trust. Over the years, the park informs me as to where I will canoe. The southwest corner of the park lit up like a beacon and said, “Here is where you will canoe.”

This area of the park is remote, difficult to get to, and completely new to me.

It was necessary to keep a close watch on the map and compass. Camp sites were challenging to find and portages were long, strenuous, narrow, and sometimes restricted by fallen trees.

New Territory

This eight-day trip was the complete cosmos of my life. Paying attention to

the weather, wind and the relentless heat of the sun was critical for my safety and well-being. Daily, I had to scout for the portages —passages — around dangerous rapids or to the other lakes.

Each evening, I searched the shoreline for a place to sleep. In new territory one must stay alert and attentive at all times. My rewards were great scenery and a deep sense of spiritual renewal and continuity. I rejoiced in being able to physically accomplish the trip. Since returning, a new sense of strength is unfolding, one with deeper roots to a belief and faith that all is well in the world and in me. I am different. I am happier and more content than ever.

Paradoxically, there is more uncertainty in my life, and at the same time, a greater peace resonates from within me.

For the first time since hearing Mahatma Gandhi’s statement, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” I now understand that when peace reigns in my heart, mind and soul, it will quell the inner struggle and subsequent illness.

Make decisions consistent with who you are

My wish to everyone reclaiming their health, whether the illness is emotional, mental, physical or a relationship with yourself or another (or all of these), is that you select the options and make decisions that are consistent with who you are — your highest and best possible self: that which is in touch with the Divine Wisdom that speaks truth to you, in you, and through you.

I thought this past year contained the darkest hours of my life. In its wake, a new level of life-giving energy is rippling through me. I can truly say that I am happy for signing up for this journey. It gave me the time to reach deep into my soul. Before me is a compelling future; what that is, is not clear. What I do have are an inner light and a quiet inner voice as guides. What more do I need? After all, if we knew exactly what was ahead of us, would it be necessary to take the journey? In unknowingness, we must be alert, focused, and attentively positive — for in doing so, we are guaranteed to taste the sensory richness of life.

As a “canary in the coal mine,” I say that there was something wrong in my thoughts, lifestyle, food intake, health approach, and relationship with the allopathic medical systems. I now see that true wellness was not my gold standard.

It was the deer-frozen-in-the-headlights syndrome that allowed me to wait until I achieved a life-threatening illness before taking full responsibility for what is best for my health on all levels: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Since taking this walk with cancer, I realize that I had succumbed to many toxic ways. Now I have reclaimed my health and see wellness surrounding me continuously.

Thank you for allowing me to describe this journey while being in the unknowingness of it. Cancer made me a dutiful participant. The following quote of a Yakima healer from Listening with Your Heart: Lessons from Native America,

by Wayne Peate, M.D., describes the experience of such a journey: “I have a bright light I enter when I do a healing ceremony. In the scientific world you go from A to B. When I perform a ceremony the light goes up and down, sideways and all around.”

You have an enduring spirit, so live it, express it fully in the way that only you can. Who cares if you appear foolish, brilliant, or silly? Just be authentic and true to yourself — you will know by the feeling in your heart.

What Past Life Regression Really Is

by Eric Christopher o many people in our Western culture, past life regression can seem far-fetched. I understand this. Growing up as a pastor’s son, we didn’t talk much about reincarnation, much less about past life regression. The purpose of this article is to explain the process in a way that makes more sense, not only for those whom the concept of reincarnation is new, but also for those who are considering doing a past life regression someday. This article is even for those who have already experienced it, because anyone who has ever gone deep into a past life regression knows that it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to fully describe it in words — and there’s a good reason for that.

After 12 years of guiding clients through past life regressions, I want to articulate how the process unfolds.

In Western culture, our primary identity is a body that has a soul. Yet, it would be far more accurate to think of you as a soul who is using a body. If you’ve ever witnessed a dead body that had his or her eyes open, you’d notice that something seems obviously different than when they were alive. The life, energy and consciousness is missing; the animating light called the soul is gone from their eyes. The body appears like a shell, and who and what they really are is no longer attached to their body. The part of you that lives on after you leave the body is pure energy. You can’t harm or destroy a soul, because it is outside of this physical dimension. The energy particles are vibrating at a much higher frequency and consequently no longer visible to our sight, similar to a fastmoving fan blade.

So, this is what you are now as you read this — a soul attached to a body. Just because you’re alive doesn’t mean you’re not a soul. Therefore, the “relatively real you” never dies. The body is released

and you transition to a higher vibrational state, and then you eventually return to a different body to continue your soul’s mission (usually). Perhaps the strongest evidence of this is the multitude of cases in which people remember intricate, personal details of past lives and then later verify them. I won’t go into that here, but for those who are interested, there’s a website dedicated to many of these cases: Iisis.net, especially note Ian Stevenson’s research. The point is that as a soul, you are eternal, indestructible and transcendent of this dimension of time and space.

Anchored in the body

What keeps you anchored in this realm of time and space? Your identification is with the body, along with your full focus and attention being placed on all of the objects in this physical dimension, such as another person, a tree, a cat, etc., rather than on the life energy behind these forms or even between the space of objects. Not only that, but at a young age you begin to subtly identify with all the mind programming and conditioning from each life experience that goes along with the growing up of this body. So we take the body and its mind to be who and what we are, rather than the life energy force that animates the body and transcends this existence.

It is why awakened sages have compared the human experience to “the greatest slight-of-hand card trick.”

If you’re already this eternal being, you should be able to tune into what you already are, the part that lies beyond this realm of time and space. How? You begin by withdrawing your focus and attention from this outside, material world and turn it inward. Hypnosis is a great tool to do this, quickly creating the effect of an extremely deep meditation. To the degree that you set aside your left-brain or analytical mind, and instead focus entirely on the right-brain’s intuitive flow of information, is to the degree you begin to tune into and resonate with this eternal part of yourself. The logical left-brain is an important tool to navigate and live in this physical dimension, but it certainly blocks you if you want to experience the higher vibrational dimension, and the soul aspect of yourself.

Past life regression is an efficient means to “tune into what you already are,” because it offers a slow, steady, systematic method: You first allow yourself to “un-identify” with the dominant thoughts surrounding your current body.

Then allow yourself to identify with a different body/mind personality that begins to form in your awareness. It is important to focus your full attention on the intuitive information that drops into your consciousness regarding this different body/mind, while simultaneously letting go of your left-brain’s analytical tendency to comment on that information.

Your body wisdom

Another way to say this is to experience the information that comes to you by sensing and feeling it with your body wisdom. As you do so, a slow unraveling of information regarding that life will drop into awareness piece by piece in the form of mental pictures, emotions or intuitive insights as the journey of that

life becomes increasingly clearer. The information may alternately come to you from the third-person or first-person point of view. The life may take unexpected turns, but eventually you’ll get an impression of the end of that past life. This is the point where you begin to slowly identify with the lighter dimension of your soul-being that experiences a variety of lives for its own journey of growth, evolution and awakening.

As you continue to focus your full attention on the experience of tuning into and moving deeper into soul identification, you’ll notice: A deep sense of well-being; the continual mind chatter in the back of your mind completely stops and is replaced with a vast, expansive, calm awareness that feels like “you”; information “drops into” you in a very different manner than usual. The reason words cannot describe it is because words belong to the realm of our mind, and now information comes from beyond the mind in what can best be described as a “telepathic download” of simultaneously occurring pictures, sense impressions, insights and/or instantaneous intuitive “inner knowings.” Clients notice that words feel inadequate to describe what they’re experiencing, as if words capture merely the tip of an iceberg.

As you continue to tune into and resonate increasingly more with the soul aspect of self, the above characteristics become more pronounced, and insights that drop into you are permeated with love, clarity, wisdom and selflessness, because there is no more sense of self that is lacking anything. From this higher state of vibration, you have access to all the love, joy, peace, security and creativity that was ever lacking in the human experience, should you choose to place focus and attention on it. At this point, there’s a deep sense that your “real” self is actually never separate from these qualities. Most clients will feel this higher dimensional aspect of themselves towards the later part of the session. And if they go even deeper during a Life-Between-Lives session, they may notice that there is very little information that they do not have access to.

Spiritual aspect of self

Keep in mind that we are multidimensional beings. So past life regression is ultimately an exercise in tuning into the spiritual aspect of self that is vibrating at a faster rate, a rate that allows you to move closer in resonance with the spiritual dimension of guides and departed loved ones, as well as accessing information that will enable you to grow, evolve and awaken.

From the soul’s higher vantage point, it becomes clearly evident which subconscious thoughts and beliefs are holding you back and limiting you, as well as who gave them to you and which life experiences caused them to take hold. Most importantly, you know beyond words that they don’t belong to the “real” you,

so they can be released. It’s an exercise in awakening to a more conscious aspect of self.

Carl Jung said that healing is about becoming conscious of that which is unconscious, and our unconscious, limiting beliefs hold a strong grip on us, negatively impacting the way we move through life.

When you come to the session with an intent to gain a sense of another existence that you’ve had as an eternal soul being, especially with the intent to gain insight, clarity and resolution with any sort of problematic issue, your inner guidance system will show you a life that will be precisely for your benefit to see, and it will contain one or more soul lessons that will perfectly pertain to your present life situation.

However, the process will be blocked if you try to consciously direct or analyze the session, because the information can only be accessed by tuning into a different, more subtle, intuitive stream of information.

Gateway to the soul

The mystic Edgar Cayce once declared, “Imagination is the gateway to the soul.” This is true for past life regression. Your imagination launches this inner journey. The past life information then starts coming to you slowly and feels like you’re making it up. However, research shows that it may be an actual past life, a metaphor, or a mixture of both. To the degree that you focus on whatever impressions your intuitive guidance shows you without analytical mind commentary, is to the degree that you’ll move deeper into the experience.

Roughly ten minutes after the first past life images begin to come, the session kicks into a “higher gear” and information begins to drop into your awareness in that “telepathic download” of images coupled with “intuitive knowing” described above. It later begins to feel “more real” as emotions may suddenly emerge out of nowhere, followed by the reasons behind the emotions five to thirty seconds later.

Paradoxically, even though the session begins by feeling like you’re making it up, it usually ends at a level of consciousness that feels more “awake” and “aware” than your ordinary, everyday level of consciousness.

Tuning in deeper

Trying to describe this state creates a conundrum. How do you describe a state of awareness that makes your normal, everyday level of waking consciousness feel like it’s asleep?

What goes along with the process of tuning in deeper with your soul self is becoming increasingly anchored in the present moment. As this happens, it becomes more apparent that our ordinary states of waking consciousness rarely consist of being completely present; we’re usually lost in the world of our minds, subtly pulled into the future or past, along with the mind’s endless commentary, which Past lives continued on page 22  December 2012 edge magazine

When you are free and separate from all of the mind’s negative self talk, limiting beliefs, continual chatter, etc., a vast, calm clarity replaces it, along with a “knowing” beyond words that you are never separate from this clear, awake, peaceful awareness.

This cannot be comprehended by the mind, because it’s a state of consciousness that is best described by Eckhart Tolle as “above thought.”

Thus, past life regression ultimately brings you to the truth of your being, the truth of who and what you really are, which can only be experienced when limiting thoughts and beliefs from the past are no longer part of the equation and your mind is silent.

This truth can only be felt, sensed and known as a direct experience in the “eternal” here and now moment, as it is unknowable by the mind; words can only point to it. Past life regression is an exercise that connects and anchors you in this higher level of consciousness. The vast majority of clients experience this understanding by the end of the session.

Beyond words

After the client emerges, I often hear: “Wow! That wasn’t what I expected.” Indeed, it is an experience that is literally beyond words. There are few experiences as sacred, profound and holy as tuning into your own wholeness and completeness.

Approximately 95 percent of the time, clients emerge from a past life regression with a greater understanding of themselves and their present life experiences. The degree of positive impact ranges from subtle to profoundly life changing, depending on the essence of the person, and the ripeness and readiness for change. There is a theme to this work: As you go within, your inner guidance gives you precisely what you need, usually to the degree that you are urgently seeking answers or resolution. by Megan Bacigalupo he homes I grew up in were infested with spirits — both the home where I lived as an infant and later my permanent childhood home. I learned later that spirits are attracted to other sprits, and that spiritually open people are targets for all shapes and sizes of entities.

As a child I was targeted.

I could always hear music playing that wasn’t on, radios turning on and off, floor lamps rattling and swaying back and forth, demon images and faces of great distortion, footsteps, whooping shadow people, and there were spirits of light and darkness in the house. I often would be in bed and odd energy would form things that would hover and then disappear.

As a child, I would have to face what the energy created for me. Some of it was very unpleasant and some of the images were beautiful, mythical, animal figures: warriors of greatness, white wolves, lions, and the bear on a regular basis. The unpleasant creations were very dark and evil.

Looking back, now I see that I was always in between opposing forces — and I was not shielded from either. With intense fear, I would face the evil; in gladness I would welcome the beautiful creatures.

Astral travel also was a vital part of my childhood. I never tried to do it; it was involuntary for me. I would travel into the cosmos on a regular basis, into the universe, into the color show of brilliant colors and moving energy. I was one with the cosmos.

Many times upon returning, I could see scattered energy balls, dust bunnies if you will, left swirling on my ceiling or on the top of my dresser. I could see them across the room sometimes, as I lay on my side in my bed. This was residue energy coming from where I had been, as I returned to my other place of consciousness. To this day, these dust bunnies, sometimes dots or lines, some call it angel hair, greet me in the morning or upon awakening from sleep — a constant reminder to me that I have been far, far, away in my sleep.

When I was much older, I would see fairies that scattered and left energy balls as they would disappear. These tiny creatures of the energy appeared to be most playful and mischievous.

They were silver and had little bodies and wings like toothpicks.

Their spirit is very magical and they are very busy entities.

They may even be the energy that transports us, for they are

hummingbird fast and never stick around long enough so we can get a good look at them.

Scientists try to analyze the mystery of sleep and dreams, but you really can’t.

You are far away and then return to your body. In sleep, we meet with gods, goddesses, animals, demons, past loved ones, rock stars, movie stars, lovers, soul mates, friends, enemies, dragons, worlds and the end of worlds. We fly, we fall, we sail, we swim and we connect to all life. We are all one.

In sleep, we go to the underworld, the upper world, we go above and beneath the ocean. We dance in dark forests and meet with plants and trees that are as alive as we are. I believe we go into

the collective universe.

As I grew up, I understood this, especially when the dust bunnies of energy were replaced for a time with ancient geometric patterns with the utmost perfection.

Ancient art, these tapestries and cave art appeared on my ceiling upon waking. In my late 30s I realized that I was one with all ancestors, from all cultures, surrounded by designs of South America decent — very tribal, very primitive, without flaw, perfect. a Megan Bacigalupo has always enjoyed exploring different truths, science and nature. Chicken & Sweet Potato Soup with Spinach

1. Heat oil in a heavybottomed soup pot. Add onion and leek and sauté for about 10 minutes. Add cumin and cook for 1 minute longer.

2. Add carrots, celery, chicken, vegetable broth, water, bay leaves and herbs.

Bring to a boil, lower heat to medium low, and simmer, partially covered, for about 50 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

3. Add sweet potatoes and cook for another 20 minutes, until sweet potatoes can be pierced with a fork. Add chopped spinach and cook for 5 minutes. Season to taste with sea salt and red wine vinegar. How foolish I have been.

Like a moth that tried to fly Too close to the candle’s flame, got singed And returned, wanting to share with others This life-changing event: Being united, embracing his Love.

I, too, have been altered By the Light of another Flame.

The young, consumed with reflections of self-importance, indestructibility and immortality, cannot imagine the middle distance.

Now, wandering on this street corner, Fumbling to tell my story to anyone who will listen.

Worst than laughter, I am ignored And left alone, to silently remember; My brief Journey to the Sun. Perhaps, I will stand quietly Reliving that glorious hour When, for an instant, I touched Infinity.

Yet the pain and distance Of not going further Still tears away at my heart, Not letting me rest.

Alone — left to limp along, Living in yesterday’s rapture and pain; Continually calling out to my Beloved: When will you touch my heart, again?

The old, consumed with reflections of certitude about the past they’ve loved and lost, have journeyed far beyond it.

The middle distance can be independent of age, but never of mind — it’s that time when you see behind and ahead fairly evenly, with genuine observation and wisdom, while gazing across an event horizon of eternity.

Some search for Eden all their lives, yet never find it. Those certain they’ve arrived obviously haven’t.

And all ephemerals who visit there are doomed to be cast out, eventually — unless Death grants mercy and saves them.

Secret Seduction

by Jana Johnson y brain is being rearranged. I don’t know how to describe it any other way. I visualize the continual motion of a Rubik’s cube. Only with softer edges and more space in between each square. I don’t know if it is in regards to the “Western” way of thinking or thinking in general, but I feel the soft and continual pressure to loosen all structured thought.

It’s like I am being secretly seduced by a more wise lover into believing that all I ever dreamed of has only been waiting for me to open up and receive it. Expectedly and unexpectedly. He slowly, assuredly, teases me with exotic fruits, breathtaking flowers and foreign language. His name is Bali. (Ubud if you need a full name). And he wants my heart, body and soul to explode with love.

It seems as if anything is possible here. Even the air is pregnant with potential. There is a sensual energy that is constant; perhaps due to the daily feeding from the sun, like mother’s milk being given to a child for strength, for comfort, for love; or maybe it’s the downpours of rain that feel like a blanket of blessings falling from above, clearing all of the wasted time, wasted energy and wasted thought from each day; or the creativity that flows freely not only from the minds, bodies and souls of all who inhabit the island, but also from each offering, each building, each monument built with conscious intention and purpose.

In fact, it may have nothing to do with anything outside of myself. Perhaps it is due to my connection to the Divine which, for moments at a time, allows me to experience all through the eyes of Spirit within, marveling at what I have chosen to co-create.

My seducer captivates me daily with

the lure of genuine connection between strangers that here is more of the norm than the unusual. Yesterday, someone told me of their very personal, very painful spiritual awakening – something that might take months or even years to talk about – between two people who have just met. It wasn’t a happy story, but in the end she believes it woke up a part of her that was sleeping.

I found myself saying that I believed that this was the work of the Bali Gods/ spiritual realm. That if you are not willing to recognize your spiritual self and your connection to the whole (in no prescribed way, just recognition) then Bali would spit you out. You would not be welcomed here. I believe this to be true.

As I write this, I’ve just been shat upon by a gecko climbing the ceiling above me. Ha ha ha! Another message from my Seducer? “Don’t forget that you are also a human being and have chosen to experience this physical realm completely. Don’t just think it.

See it, hear it, touch it, feel it.”

Today may be the day I surrender to you. To your flirtations. To your possibilities. To your many faces. Stay steady.

Be patient. Don’t give up before I give in. The seduction is no longer a secret.
