The Big Reveal: sharing more of who we truly are From the Editor

IT’S ONLY JUST BEGUN. You don’t have to be a student of metaphysics to acknowledge that this planet — and all of us who are along for the ride — are shifting. The climate is changing to a new normal. Almost overnight, the nation has shifted in support of gender equality, and it’s doing the same to end the prohibition of marijuana. The president of Iran is calling for peace among all nations. Catholic Pope Francis is urging the Church to stop obsessing over gays, abortion and contraception. A news broadcaster just the other night asked if we are experiencing “a change in tone.” Yes, we’re experiencing a dramatic change in vibration.

Metaphysicians say our bodies are quickening from the 3rd dimension to the 4th and 5th dimensions, where love reigns supreme. Those in the know say human beings are joining our pets and the animal kingdom, the rest of the natural world and the galactic community in making this shift toward a more loving and telepathic existence.

What that means is hard to put into words, but what I sense is that this shift will move each of us into a stronger sense of our Self. We will sense a growing desire to share more of who we truly are with each other and begin to exist within a more intuitive way of being.

It’s about being “authentic” — and real — openly expressing your soul’s desire with the rest of humanity.

If the truth be told, we’re all unique, eccen-

tric and creative — but all too often we’ve been programmed to act and look and be the same as everyone else, despite our cultural celebration of individuality.

Look no further than to our children to see beings who are innately authentic.

Unfortunately, adults — consciously and unconsciously — try to strip that from them.

The real people already are all around us.

They are the people you watch at gatherings and events who seem unrestrained, eager to take off their masks and do cartwheels and sing and dance in full view of everyone — and the universe.

When we see other people who have no qualms about being themselves in front of us, that ignites a spark within us to be ourselves, too.

But let’s remember that it’s not about adopting a unique persona just to stand out in a crowd. It’s not about showing off tattoos and offbeat hair styles and being weird just to draw attention to yourself.

It’s about letting loose and breathing — and releasing the self-imposed bounds that keep us confined into who we want other people to think we are. It’s about connecting with the inner sense of who we are — and celebrating that — and sharing that.

It’s about doing that regardless of who is observing you. Especially if no one is looking.

The real people are you and me: the high achievers and low achievers and single moms and kids who feel like outcasts and kids who are popular — and older people who, since they were children, have always wanted to be themselves but have been afraid.

Just let go and be you.

Making a Stand for Peace

An interview with Michelle Ploog on the Beyond Belief Walk for Peace

by Tim Miejan On November 16, people representing different faiths, ethnicities, cultures and traditions will walk side by side through the Mall of America as an example of what we all can do: come together to create peace. The founder of the Beyond Belief Walk for Peace, Michelle Ploog, says she is committed to showing fellow human beings that it can be done despite our differences.

“Throughout my meditation practice, I have become very clear on my life’s mission: To connect people through love, joy and accepting differences to create a world of peace,” Ploog says. “One component that interferes with our ability to connect with each other are the belief systems we carry, be it religious, political or otherwise.

“Connection and peace are out beyond our stubborn opinions and righteous convictions. To develop sustainable peace, we must start with acceptance of ourselves, then begin to accept the differences of people in our lives, and finally we accept people’s differences outside our comfort zone. It is a constant practice and opportunity for growth.”

Michelle, a TV personality and experienced registered teacher of Yoga, is a self-proclaimed “agent of change.” She has interviewed inspirational people and has taught Yoga to an array of students, from Taylor Swift to victims in recovery from the sex slave industry to players for the North Carolina Hurricanes.

She spoke with The Edge about her latest philanthropic endeavor, the Beyond Belief Walk for Peace, which takes place from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Mall of America.

The walk will be led by a team of spiritual leaders of all traditions and peace advocates from throughout the Twin Cities. Traditions range from Baha’i to Catholic, Buddhist to Islamic, Jewish to Pagan, Atheist to Hindu — and it will involve

Michelle, why do you call the event “Beyond Belief?”

Michelle Ploog: Well, that’s a

fun play on words, isn’t it? For one, it’s where peace is created: beyond our belief systems. It is a walk to say, “I am committed to creating peace with people beyond my belief systems.”

Rest assured that everyone is encouraged to be who they are, believe what they believe and feel safe. The walk is a place to respect and accept differences, not take them away. The second definition is that the walk is inspiring and peace-creating beyond what we could possibly believe or imagine.

How do you define peace?

MP: Peace is not just

the absence of war, or indifference.

Peace is the full experience and acceptance of life. Peace resides at the seat of the soul. It is the eye of the storm and the stillness underneath the water’s surface.

It is found inside each of us

We are bringing people together that may otherwise never connect, and thereby, opening a pathway for them to share the common good they both desire. The participants will have a miraculous experience of connection to humanity, the world, and consciousness.

Our fantastic keynote speaker, Joan Steffend, will speak to the soul of the crowd to inspire the movement.

Press outlets from around the Twin Cities will be sharing the story of how many people came together for the common mission of peace. Viewers will see that it is possible for people of all different cultures, religions, and races to come together for peace. Onlookers will be invited to join!

MP: The walk is open to everyone.

MP: Peace is a practice that each

person needs to commit to in order for global change to happen. We each make a contribution every day by how we choose to live.

Each of us has experienced to some degree the exact things that have leaders at war with one another: greed, dominance, envy and other challenges. We have to commit to overcoming these obstacles by choosing unconditional love, acceptance and forgiveness. Peace is created in the world when individuals become the catalysts for peace within their lives by taking a stand (or a walk!) for peace. The individual at peace will lead by example.

Cruise focuses on ascension process

An it harm none

Part one — Judgment & Redemption Evolutionary Pagan

A few months ago, The Edge was contacted by an inmate who represented a Wiccan group at his prison. He sent an inquiry wondering if the magazine knew of any Wiccans/Pagans who would be willing to visit them. When I first heard about it, I immediately wanted to talk to the men in this group. But when I found out that the correspondence would have to be via postal mail, suddenly I found myself in a quandary.

Do I put my home address on the envelope? Do I need a P.O. Box for this correspondence? What is my risk, as a “free” woman interacting with inmates in an all-male prison? If I were to arrange a visit, would I need a chaperone? While I would like to believe that I could command a respectful discussion around pagan spirituality, I’m uncertain about dealing with flirtation or threatening behavior. My natural inclination is to reach out, because I believe in human decency. But I held back — fearful of putting myself at risk, while also realizing I have no training that would prepare me for drawing appropriate boundaries.

“An it harm none, do as ye will.”

This is the Wiccan Rede, the guiding morality of Wicca. Put another way, the Rede states that if no one or nothing is harmed by your actions, you are free to go about your business. However, it does not talk about what happens if someone or something is harmed, how to deal with a person who has committed harm against another, or how to prevent harm against your own person.

A general rule of ethics in magick is to not interfere with another person’s free will. Therefore, the unspoken side of the Rede holds an implication that all things have risk and that the only thing anyone can control is their own actions. The Magician must calculate that risk for both parties to minimize potential harm.

In contemplating my quandary, it occurs to me that if thoughts have power, does it stand to reason that any thought can influence another person? In a broader sense, what happens when society automatically rejects someone because they have been labeled as a criminal? Are we interfering with someone’s free will by Harm None continued on page 10 

 Harm None continued from page 9 labeling them? Is it implied that once you have committed a crime you no longer have the right to free will? If society puts someone on a permanent list, is there room for redemption?

Trying to imagine being on the receiving end of that judgment makes me question the harm it causes to someone’s psyche. Who would I become if I were condemned for life with the realization that no matter how much time I served I would always appear on a list of suspects? Who would advocate for me if I was attempting to reintegrate into society?

If doors of opportunity close to someone because of a label or past mistake, where is the motivation to change or improve my life? Do we as a community trust in the lists the state and federal government generate for the sake of our personal safety? Or are there criteria, as an inclusive magical community, for discerning who the real criminal is and who is simply collateral damage from an imperfect system?

When talking about redemption, does it matter who is a criminal or who is collateral damage when they both have labels to overcome?

In my heart I believe that everyone is inherently good, even though I have been burned by that many times. Good intentions can be harmful, because it can leave you vulnerable to attack and can create expectations that may not be fulfilled. But fear can also be harmful when it prevents you from acting, or exploring an opportunity that may ultimately open doors you never knew existed.

This month I will be seeking out answers from the community. I will be posing this question: What do we, as a community, stand to gain from being inclusive to convicts, and how do we handle assisting them in integrating into our population? a Next month: Part Two: Do As Ye Will.

The intensity we’ve come to expect in the post-2012 era returns full force in October with more cardinal sign craziness, including the Aries lunar eclipse on the 18th, and Mercury going retrograde in Scorpio on the 21st.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…It’s time to get disciplined, get in shape and get your energy moving towards what really matters. You may notice that certain people, though plenty nice enough, are distracting you from fully committing to your unique destiny. The eclipse in your sign on the 18th shows you a picture of who you could be if you stopped holding back and started living fully.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…A lot of what happens is out of your control this month. Focus on the things you can control, such as taking care of your health and keeping on top of work and other obligations. You’re rethinking a relationship right now and money seems to be involved.

You’ll know the answer by early November; use October to gather facts and get honest about your own feelings.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)…“He whose face gives no light, shall never become a star,” said William Blake. October offers moments of beauty and romance that remind you that joy is an essential ingredient in realizing your dreams.

Use these shining moments to motivate yourself to develop the self-discipline that is equally necessary to making your dreams come true.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)…You could have a lot more. But there’s a parental voice in your head (or your gut) that keeps telling you: play it safe, think of others first, you can’t trust your impulses.

On this side it’s difficult, because there are certain belief systems people have or preset ideas or notions about things, and the same is true on the other side. Just because someone has passed over to Spirit doesn’t mean that they have quickly changed their awareness. They might still have the same mindset and belief systems. People think just because they are passed to the Spirit world that they become completely aware of things.

What do you do before reading to open up and receive information?

James Van Praagh: What I do is I put myself

into a receptive place. I really work to put myself in a meditative state. I energize each chakra center, open the power, and bring myself to a place in my mind that is receptive. I do a blessing and ask Spirit to move with the highest good and then I just receive. I will receive impressions, whether it is of a man or woman, the age of the person sometimes, relationship to the person in the audience, whatever it might be, and share the message.

Talk to me about connecting with such a variety of spirits of people from the other side. I imagine it’s similar to what it’s like talking to people on this side of the veil; some people you can easily talk with, and some others you might have a hard time relating to.

other side of the veil will open up and expand and change if they are willing to. If they feel a desire to open up to another way of thinking, they will do that. They will come to demonstrations, when we have group readings, for a couple of reasons. Number one is the bond of love between themselves and their living person on the Earth. It’s also a way for them to learn that communication is possible, that their relatives can hear them through a medium.

I tell the audience many times that we are here together, and you might think that you are here for yourself to receive a reading, but really you are here maybe for the highest good of the Spirit world. This might give the people in the Spirit world the opportunity to come through and to have a last chance to say, “I’m sorry,” “I love you” or “Forgive me.” Let’s say there was a man who did not express his love to his daughter when he was alive and when he passed into the Spirit world he sees, “Oh, God, I didn’t do this and look at how it’s messed up her life. She doesn’t trust men, she doesn’t know about love. She doesn’t know herself how to express love because I didn’t tell her I loved her.” This is just a hypothetical.

So, this father now is stuck in a condition in his mind that he has to forgive himself for what he didn’t do or say or express to his daughter. So being at a demonstration might give him, the spirit of that man, the opportunity to come through now and say,

“I love you. I’m sorry I didn’t do this when I was alive. Please forgive me.” And it might free him up at the level he is at to move on and evolve.

Do you think that happens a lot?

JVP: I think it happens more than we think. It’s an interesting

perspective, because people don’t think about that. They think that once they’re in spirit, then they are free. Well, it’s not true, because of certain conditions we create on the Earth and mindsets we carry over with us.

One of the first things that happens when you leave the physical world is you have a life review and you see all the good things, the bad things, the indifferent things that you did to another person or things that you said or things that you thought. You see that, feel that, and hear that ten times, twenty times, thirty times stronger than you did while you were on the Earth. You are your judge and your jury, and you have to forgive yourself for what you said or what you didn’t say. So, in a way that can be your Heaven or Hell, depending on how you lived your life.

 Van Praagh continued from page 13 So following your life review, you may seek out an opportunity to speak to a loved one who is still alive on Earth.

JVP: That’s exactly right. Let’s say a mother

wasn’t there for her kids in life and might feel now in the Spirit world that she has an opportunity to go back and be a guide to help them or influence them in a positive way. In her life review, she could have thought, “Wow, I could have been a better mother. Why didn’t I do this or do that. I was so into my own stuff.” Now she may have an opportunity to help her children on the Earth to be better people. This might be her way to try to make amends in whatever way she can.

And, for some beings who are like new to the experience of connecting to loved ones through a medium, do they speak directly with you or do they get help from their guides in doing so?

JVP: I think once they get over to the other

side, there are many beings who help them, whose mission it is just to help those who are newly arrived, if you will, and help with their conditions of the mind. If you are not happy with how you left the world and you see the rippling effect of what you did, that can be pretty ugly. You may think, “Wow, how could I have left the world in that position?” So there are talented beings whose job it is to help clear up those conditions. It could be compared to going to a healing center or a therapy center. You came back on the Earth to learn certain lessons and perhaps you didn’t learn them this time. Maybe next time you will. But look here: there were many good things that you did in your life.

Many of us here on the Earth can be critical of ourselves. Imagine what it’s like when you’re in the Spirit world, where there is no time. You find yourselves with your thoughts and experiences that are very, very real, and that can be very difficult.

And perhaps you have to be with those thoughts for a long time.

JVP: Exactly. Since there is no time on the

other side, it could be 10, 20, 30 years. I have had experiences — more so in the past two or three years — when I’ve been in a room with anywhere from 500 people to 1,000 people and there have been Spirits on the side of the room — for example, a man folding his arms saying, “I’m not going to speak to them now. I didn’t believe in this when I was alive, why would I try it now.”

(Laughs.)

So, I’m wondering if there is someone on the other side — a guide or a teacher — who said, “You should watch them in that situation.” Perhaps they are advised to look at how it works so they can realize that it’s possible for soul-to-soul communication from the living and the

dead. At a demonstration, I’ll often see souls in the room who are not there for anybody in the audience, but are there to watch the process so at a later date they can have an opportunity to come through and try it out.

Do you advise people to be taught by established mediums, or can people be selftaught?

JVP: I advise people to work with mediums

who have been doing it for a while and know the work. I’d very much like to say it’s like going through eight years of school to become a professional doctor. I think you need to go through many years of development in order to be a medium.

The problem these days is that people take a class and they think they can go out and do readings. The problem is that they’re not even ripe. I have a big problem with that, I really do, because the quality of the mediumship is bad. It’s more of a psychic reading, it’s not at mediumship level. I have real trouble with people who jump into this and think they can go into it without taking any time to develop.

You’re going to be presenting a three-day workshop following the Minneapolis Edge Life Expo on “Awakening Your Mind to Mental and Physical Mediumship.” What’s the difference between mental and physical mediumship?

JVP: This will be a workshop for people who

are established mediums — I’ll find out right away — or those who are brand new at this. I’ll give them basic tools to begin with, which means that they have to continue further on with their study.

Mental mediumship is using the six senses. The three principal mental mediumship traits I will be working with are: clairvoyance, clear sight, seeing spirit; clairaudience, hearing; and clairsentience, feeling. I will work with attendees to help them build up their sensitivity.

Physical mediumship is a little different.

It’s when you are actually being used by the spirit in a physical way. I will work with trance energy, which is when you become so receptive that your heart beat slows down, your breath slows down, and you really become an open vessel for the spirit to come in and to bring through the energy of the true sense of someone. The person who is receiving the message can feel them very, very strongly, too, and also to receive messages from words that sound like the person who has crossed over.

Also at the Minneapolis Edge Life Expo you will be giving a Sunday address entitled, “An Afternoon of Spirit.” What can people expect during that presentation?

JVP: When I do an afternoon event, I call

it a demonstration of what I do. I am very much a teacher. Now, there are mediums out there who are excellent technicians.

They are able to bring through evidential details, and they are excellent technicians, but their work might not be spiritual. Let’s compare that with a great surgeon who is an incredible technician, but their bedside manner is horrible. Technically they are great, but they have no compassion. That’s true with mediumship.

I know that, for me, I am an ambassador of the spirit world. I present myself as an instrument of the spirit world. Many people who come to these events are brand new to this. They have never seen this before. So, first, I educate them as to what this is all about. The first thing I have to do is take away their fear, because a lot of people come a little fearful of the unknown. They are scared. They are not sure about this. “Is he going to spit out green soup? Is he going to float around the room?” So, I come in right away and disarm people right away, and I use my sense of humor and I tell some jokes, and they say, “Oh, he’s kind of a normal guy.”

And then I talk about the life review, about having a spiritual life while in the physical body. I want them to have a foundation, because the messages are just the by-product. I may give ten or twenty messages for 2,000 people in the room, so not everybody is going to get a message, but every single person will be able to relate to the messages that are given and use them for their own life. I’m also going to do a meditation just to relax people so they can go home with tools that they can use to become more aware, more sensitized and more healthy.

Do you have new projects coming soon?

JVP: The next one is coming in October,

so when I go to Minneapolis I will be signing my brand new book called, How to Heal a Grieving Heart, which I wrote with Doreen Virtue. It’s a gift book in a way, because it’s full of insights into what you would tell somebody who is grieving, how you can help them through their grieving process. It’s really beautifully illustrated with colored butterflies. It’s gorgeous book.

In November, a deck of mediumship cards that Doreen and I worked on together will come out. They are the first mediumship cards that I know of. You concentrate on a loved one who passed over and then you turn a certain card over and that will be the message for you. a

Senderos de Luz, Part III: The second call to Peru

by Efrén Francisco Solanas Third in a series In 2012, during the last day of a workshop, my guides informed me that I was to return to Peru, and this time, to bring a group. I immediately shared the news with my workshop companions and several responded with a strong desire to join me. I advised everyone that I frankly knew nothing about the trip beyond the directive. It didn’t seem to matter.

I asked my Cusco travel agency to map a route that would include the Peruvian high country, and after merging with the Inca Trail, end at the entrance to Machu Picchu. I was flooded with a sublime joy as I reviewed the trip agenda. We were mapping an eight-day trek, requiring long hours of hiking and featuring a summit of 16,400 feet at very base of Apu Salkantay — a 22,000-foot, ice-covered massif located northwest of Machu Picchu.

Our group flew to Peru in April 2013. My previous solo trip in 2008 had familiarized me with the layout of the city of Cusco and helped inform where we would stay, as well as our activities during the essential, first three days of acclimatization. For many tourists, the 12,000-foot elevation in Cusco is the first test.

Our group rose very early on Day Four to board a van with our duffle bags and walking sticks to begin the long drive to the trailhead. Our guide welcomed us and the driver closed the door and started the engine. The soft light of dawn bathed the waking city of Cusco below as our van reached the first summit and began to descend slowly into a deep valley beyond.

Four hours later, at the side of a dusty, one-lane dirt road, we met our team: horsemen, horses, and cooks. After a brief lunch, we set out, walking a road carved into the base of a large mountain. Visible across a narrow valley and a rushing river below was a portion of another massive mountain, suggesting an even more magnificent girth. The elevation required slow and conscious walking. Breathing was difficult. We were all aware that this was just the beginning of something far more challenging.

On the second day, the trail left the road and began to ascend steeply. We spread out, each person finding her unique pace. It became colder and every so often, depending on the angle, Apu Salkantay appeared, brilliantly white in the distance.

Each time I saw the mountain, my heart filled with excitement. The mountains of

Each human figure was dwarfed by the magnificent Andes.

Late in the afternoon, we began a last, difficult climb to our campsite. Slowly ascending the final rise, I suddenly had full view of the towering face of Apu Salkantay, shimmering with snow and glaciers. I went down to my knees, sobbing deeply, howling as if my heart was split open — the pain of birth simultaneous with the ecstasy of new life. The more I released, the more arose.

Slowly the process quieted. I took out three coca leaves and arranged them in my hand as Incas have done for millennia, exhaling my prayer to Apu Salkantay. I pledged to do anything asked of me, committing to serve the Apu. It was a decision made from my heart, with deep reverence for the living energy before me.

The following days were profoundly challenging. We drew tightly together as a family to pool resources and insight.

We learned to ask for support from the generous, constant presence of the mountains. The Apus taught us how to walk the stone paths built by the Incas.

Our old self-images were replaced with fresh assessments as we met our limits and then, went beyond them. The pure air and vast, virgin landscape embody a crystalline consciousness, proof of His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s proclamation that the spiritual energy of the Himalayas now resides in the Andes.

As I left Peru to fly home, I knew that my pledge of service to Apu Salkantay was beyond my present understanding.

by Maggie Christopher This meatloaf is packed with flavor, vegetables and topped with a delicious glaze. It makes enough for two meatloaves (standard size loaf pans) so I cook one and freeze the other. Serve with a side of vegetables and brown rice if desired.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil 1 small onion 1 large zucchini, diced 1 red bell pepper, diced 5 cloves garlic, crushed 1/2 tsp thyme 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, divided use Salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 large eggs, lightly beaten 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 pound ground bison 1 pound ground grass-fed beef 1 cup ketchup, divided use 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2. Heat oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add onions, zucchini, pepper, garlic, 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes, thyme, salt and pepper. Sauté until veggies are al dente.

3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and parsley. Add the meat, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 TBS balsamic vinegar and the cooled veggies. Mix until just combined.

4. Grease a loaf pan with olive oil. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place in pan.

5. In a small bowl, make the glaze by mixing 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture over loaf.

6. Bake uncovered for approximately 60-75 minutes. Do not overcook. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Alien Abduction & Contact

Why the government doesn’t matter

In 15 years of working with UFO-encounter experiencers, I’ve lost count of the times people have asked me, “How does the government fit into all of this?” Yet, the question is legitimate, encapsulating the $64,000 question: How do human authorities react to an alien presence beyond their control — and even their understanding?

At the same time, I hear experiencers describe encounters with both alien beings and human military personnel. What is the relationship between them? Are they working together or do they oppose each other? Or is there a completely different dynamic at work here?

In my last article, I talked about the experiences of “Evelyn,” whom I describe in my book, The Cosmic Bridge. I described the initial stages of an encounter in which she was floated out of her bed and into a UFO. She was left with intense fear, and only after considerable hypnotherapy work were we able to begin regression.

After being taken into the UFO, one of Evelyn’s next memories was of walking down a hallway, accompanied by several grays.

Through a transparent panel, she observed a number of both aliens and humans. Some of the humans appeared to be high-ranking military officers. She was compelled to walk down this hall in front them as if being reviewed.

Was Evelyn actually being observed as part of a joint military/alien project? I don’t know. But Evelyn’s account is similar to quite a few others that depict both aliens and human military figures present in the alien realm. If we assume that Evelyn’s experiences were not illusory and that the military personnel she observed were exactly that, we are left with tremendous questions. What is the relationship between the military and the phenomenon? Is the military somehow working with aliens, and if so, why?

I suspect the answer may be complex beyond understanding, and yet also quite simple. Perhaps viewing the problem from the point of view of military thinkers might yield a new perspective.

It’s the job of a nation’s military to protect that nation’s security from threats by others — whatever they may be. Looking back over the last 60 years or so, we have seen a rapidly growing visitor presence in our skies, beyond the reach of our military.

Furthermore, we have evidence that this phenomenon is kidnapping our citizens and conducting experiments on them in

ways we don’t even begin to understand.

Given that the military’s job is to protect its citizens, how do you think they would react?

Earlier, I offered some ideas of why the visitors might be here. Given our warlike nature, and viewing our world from the perspective of “us versus them,” what would one conclude? Now imagine our warlike species being able to carry weapons to the stars. If you were our cosmic neighbors, what would you do?

In my book, The Cosmic Bridge, I offer the hypothesis that the visitors are conducting what amounts to a “Human Improvement Project” (improvement, at least from their perspective). While there are probably multiple alien agendas, I suggest one key purpose behind the visitor presence is to somehow modify humanity, “civilizing” us in preparation for the day when we begin to venture out into the stars.

During the 1940s and ’50s, both the U.S. and the Russian air forces had a shoot-to-kill order. The result was the brutal realization that alien abilities are far beyond our own.

If they wanted to, the visitors could have destroyed us long ago. Yet, they didn’t — but they did learn that humans are dangerous. They can’t be trusted, especially their leaders.

Rather than landing on the White House lawn, contact appears to be occurring from the bottom up, one experiencer at a time. This process is occurring in our very midst. The visitors come and go at will, with governments powerless to stop them.

Human authorities have no say or control; they are non-players in the contact drama.

Yet, from the point of view of governments, their job is to enforce law and order, protect their citizens and control their territory. To them, the idea of something alien abducting and potentially harming our citizens is unacceptable. We can imagine that there must be some kind of effort to reach technological or military parity with “them.”

Given the unique strangeness of close encounters, the hyper-advanced visitor technology and the apparent metaphysical and psychic nature of the phenomenon, where would governments even begin? One way might be by direct observation, covert surveillance and interference in the lives of abduction experiencers? Furthermore, while the government/military can’t control the phenomenon, it can do the next best thing: control the people involved.

Many UFO encounter experiencers I have worked with also describe encounters with menacing human military figures.

These figures appear to stalk and monitor experiencers, sometimes re-abducting them following their alien encounter. Literature contains many cases of apparent abductions by members of the military. In many of these cases, the abductors seem to be trying to discover the reality behind the experiencer’s interactions with the visitors.

I suspect authorities throughout the world are all somehow trying to deal with the phenomenon. For better or for worse, they are simply trying to do their jobs. Yet, contact goes on at the individual level and governments have little say in that process.

So the answer to the question of what is the government and military’s role in alien contact, I might just have a very simple answer: None. Does energy healing work?

One of the most asked questions by people who want a change in their life, whether it is for emotional, physical, spiritual or abundance challenges they are facing, is: “Does energy healing really work?” If you ask any energy healing practitioner, the answer is invariably, “Yes.” We see results every day in our practice.

Sometimes it provides life-altering changes that are subtle, taking a few weeks before noticing that something in your life is different — you’re different. Perhaps it is how you feel physically or how you emotionally react to certain situations differently, more at peace, stronger, lighter or more accepting. Many times changes are immediate and your life is radically shifted forever.

We all have our theories as to why and how energy healing works, and there is “evidence” that it works based on the testimonials of millions of people who have experienced it. But like most good theories, repeated use of these modalities allows us to come up with a conclusion. Most energy healers are neither scientists nor medical doctors, but we believe based on our results.

Unfortunately, science doesn’t like things it can’t explain, so anecdotal results usually are disregarded — or called “a miracle,” which doesn’t need to be explained.

My theory, as just a regular person and energy healer, is that the thousands of energy healing modalities all work. Some say it’s the “process” itself that contributes to success. I believe the process is just how the healer chooses to open a pathway to healing for their client. It is the loving intent of the healer — and the inherent willingness of the individual soul to shift — that provides the perfect combination to open the pathway to healing. It is love bringing you back to the well-being and love that you are. And love is some powerful energy.

When energy healers say their particular process is the best, what they really mean is that what they have chosen to do is what works best for them, and therefore, their clients. There is no one way; there is only a way that is preferred. What works for you is what you resonate with when choosing an energy healing practitioner.

Let’s take a look at what’s really happening.

Everything is energy, and you may agree with that in your mind to some degree. Perhaps you even repeat those words often to others. But rarely do we look at the energy — or better yet, the emotional energy — behind our personal challenges. If you really take those words in, you may discover that it is the most paramount realization you could have — affecting your life, body, mind and abundance.

When something is out of whack in your life, look

at the quality of the energy surrounding it.

From my experience with hundreds of clients, the emotional energy sets the stage for most people’s challenges — and physical outcomes, as well. For example, when I was in a back brace and had medical “proof” that there was a reason for me to have terrible back pain, I chose to examine what was emotionally going on in my life. I used my favorite energy healing process on myself and the pain left immediately and has never returned after all these years. I literally felt the energy of the pain flow out of my body and then my back corrected itself. It was amazing.

I began my energy healing practice as a spiritual hands-on healer, and now, after becoming certified in a multitude of different energy modalities, I have settled on what works best and rapidly for me and my clients and what I enjoy using the most — EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques®.

It is a combination of all that I’ve learned and experienced under a single label, yet it’s actually an experiential energy healing process that gives us results.

In the end, the only thing that matters are the results and the willingness of the individual person to release whatever you choose to call it — energy blocks, disruptions, emotions, stuck, pain, or “stuff,” because they are all the same. It is energy. Light Energy Healing: my journey to Alpha Elements

Light is a vital form of healing energy that many of us take for granted. Growing up in Norway, I became conscious of the impact of light on my health and well-being at a young age. Even though the population in Norway is very health conscious and fortunate to live in a beautiful and prosperous country, our per capita rates of depression and suicide are some of the highest in the world. This is to a large degree attributed to symptoms associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). One part of my personal healing journey was moving in 1984 to America, where I have studied and experienced many forms of healing therapies, including innovative work with light and color therapy.

With a professional background as a writer and communication consultant, I was moved to begin research about how it is that colors communicate light energy; I set out to develop a draft for a book on the subject of the human connection to color and light. Ten years have passed since then, because, as light (and life) goes, there were multiple perplexing and mysterious dimensions to explore. Little did I know that my work would lead to a quest that has taken me to the front edge of quantum physics research and the mind-body connection.

In 2011, I began to formulate Alpha Element Theory (AET) based on the physiological connections we have to color and light energy.

posit a hypothesis with regards to how our four levels of energy (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) relate to light energy in our bodies, specifically the circadian rhythms — the body’s 24 hour “clock.” The rhythmic expression of this clock is fueled by light and regulated by the hormone melatonin; the circadian clock gene itself is situated in the anterior hypothalamus in the brain. This clock gene is a key member in our biological memory, adding a quantum aspect to the molecular machinery of our bioenergy and genetic expression.

The significant impact the circadian rhythms have on our health and well-being cannot be overstated. The World Health Organization has declared shift work a health hazard and scientific evidence has correlated shift work with the development of breast cancer. The Center for Chronobiology at the University of San Diego, which is dedicated to studying the circadian rhythms, has noted that research indicates a strong link between the efficacy of cancer treatments and the circadian rhythms. This means that the specific time of day that remedies, medications, chemotherapy and cancer treatments are taken is of critical importance, impacting dosage as well as the effectiveness of such treatments. The bio-energetic, mind-body connection that human beings have to light may explain the healing impact of color and art. Psychologist Carl Gustav Jung believed that important processes were involved in the art of making They support our mental and emotional states. Energy healing works on and with these energetic bodies, as well as with the physical body to heal trauma, and facilitate a person’s change and growth.

Energy healing can serve humanity in many wonderful ways. It can cure physically, heal emotionally, and elevate spiritually.

It can add flow and ease to our lives, and facilitate our evolution by helping us to see more clearly who we are.

My focus here, though, is how to use energy healing to bring consciousness

and coloring mandalas and used this as a therapeutic method in both his personal life and with his patients.

Our bodies are rhythmic natural wonders, and our organs are all synchronized to the symphony of the circadian clockwork.

Scientists believe there are the four primary clock molecules in our body located in the liver, kidneys, heart and brain. At the Alpha Element Institute, we believe that the oscillations of these molecules may constitute an internal architecture of vibrations, creating a framework for an energetic signature and a communication system of light energy in the body.

The relationship between light, colors and the bodymind is profound. As human beings, we relate to light and colors on instinctive, emotional and intellectual, as well as spiritual levels. Light is a teacher, both in our relationship with ourselves, our environment and our connection with each other. Light and colors provide a link to our consciousness of the external world, as well as our inner realms.

to the emotional issues that confront us, sometimes every day. These can include issues of self-worth, survival fears, or loneliness — basically anything that holds us back from being the person we want to be. A session with an energetic healer can transform our understanding of an emotional problem, making it easier for us to see it and ultimately resolve it in our lives.

We all have patterns or channels within us that spur automatic responses to certain situations. We started creating these patterns from early childhood. When our parents were angry, we picked up that energy and felt it deeply inside. Our brain tried to make sense of it, and filled in any blanks with guesses to create a meaningful story. That story might have been, “My parents are angry with me and don’t like me.” From then on, whenever we felt that energy signature, we reacted automatically with the negative story we told ourselves as a child. This unconscious piece is maintained in our energy fields — and even in the cells of our body.

BodyTalk restores balance

by Angela Johnson “What’s going on in here?!” Luke asked as I let him into my apartment and he noticed the lights were all off, blinds were drawn closed on this perfect sunny day, and my younger daughter, Karina, then 7 years old, was curled up on the recliner covering her head.

“Karina can’t handle the slightest light or noise,” I whispered. “She has been vomiting and unable to eat for almost 48 hours.”

Luke whispered, “I can do a BodyTalk session for her.”

The Innate Wisdom Luke had been completing his requirements to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, which included documenting a certain number of BodyTalk practice sessions before sitting before an instructor for the written and practical certification exam. The BodyTalk System is an energy based modality that involves a subtle form of kinesiology based muscle testing, light touch, and gentle tapping to communicate with the innate wisdom of the body to stimulate the body-mind to heal itself at all levels. It is based on the premise that a body that can talk to itself can heal itself — and quite efficiently.

“BodyTalk can help migraines, too?”

So far, I had seen Luke use BodyTalk to help other friends of mine with back pain, a stomach ache, a mystery rash, and insomnia — each with successful results after just a single 30-minute or so session.

Karina did not want anybody tapping on her directly, but she agreed to allow Luke to use me as a surrogate. So, I reclined and Luke used my wrist to establish a “yes/no” biofeedback response to locate the exact priority areas of Karina’s body-mind, whose communication breakdown represented an underlying causative factor in her dis-ease.

For each “link” to a priority area, he would hold (or have me hold), while he tapped over “my” head and heart. Like other sessions, Luke kept repeating this pattern of muscle testing, holding the revealed “links” and tapping until innate testing revealed “no more When I am performing an energetic healing, I see places in a client’s energetic fields and body where these unconscious responses are manifested. They may present as areas of “stuck” or damaged energy, or places of poor energetic flow. Using various techniques involving sound, smells, my own energies and those of my angels and guides, I am able to repair “breaks” in the energy patterns, remove stuck pieces, restore flow to damaged areas, and erase undesirable cellular patterns in the body. The point of this kind of healing is to free a person from his or her unconscious, automatic responses to life situations — to actually make a person more conscious!

Clients may feel euphoric and renewed following a session, but their own role in the healing process is just beginning. The healing has put “light” or consciousness around the issue, so after a session clients may actually feel that their problems are worse, since it may be so much more “in their face.” Rather than indicating a failure of the healing, though, this highlighting actually helps people to notice those

priorities” needed to be linked up. Luke was at our home for maybe 45 minutes before he walked out saying, “I hope the benefits kick in soon.”

Within five minutes, Karina stood up, pranced happily to the kitchen, fixed herself a bowl of yogurt, and ate it. Within five more minutes, she had changed clothes and was laughing outside while swinging herself across the monkey bars on the playground outside our apartment. I snapped a picture with my phone and texted it to Luke, along with the words, “Thank you!”

He texted back, “Isn’t BodyTalk amazing?!”

Amazing results Within one year of this summer day in 2011, I had already taken my first four-day BodyTalk intensive class (BodyTalk Fundamentals), and I was already documenting amazing results from my own practice sessions in Sioux Falls. Luke had opened a BodyTalk business called Moksha Healing in Rapid City, S.D. In February 2013, I became the ninth person in South Dakota to become certified as a practitioner through the International BodyTalk Association — and the first to open a practice in Sioux Falls. I named it “Awaken BodyTalk.”

With the results I see every day, it is no wonder to me how the BodyTalk System has already been translated into a dozen languages and is being practiced in nearly 50 countries since its inception in Australia in the mid-1990s. feelings when they come up, so they can be dealt with. In addition to the healing, I give simple techniques to help clients create new responses to the energies they are feeling.

These techniques can be used to prevent old patterns from reasserting themselves, so the clients really can have a new life.

Emotional issues have many facets.

Further healings go deeper and farther with the issue, exposing and lighting up these other facets. Clients should return for another healing when the issue shows up strongly; at that time, clients are more conscious and open to seeing other aspects of the problem. Once the feeling and the thoughts associated with that feeling are seen clearly, they can no longer keep a person trapped. Later healings serve to deepen our understanding of other aspects of the same problem, bringing them to light so they can be consciously addressed.

There are issues I have been carrying my whole life, that are now gone. It’s hard to even remember what some of them were.
