by Tim Miejan We’re getting consistent reports and messages from those connected with high sources — ascended masters, angelic entities, spiritual guides — that the energetic vibration of our planet is rising, propelling us to a higher level of consciousness. While some are content to live each day as they have in the past, entire universes of others are turning inside out.

This month, our contributors are sharing their insights on ascension — that energy shift that is transforming everything to the core. It is both a personal and collective experience, one that is expected to last for years to come.

What can we expect with this energy shift?

One byproduct of this process that I hope to see is an outward display of more compassion for one another.

We’re beginning to see a coming together of people in larger numbers in response to devastating events — hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, shootings in Newtown and elsewhere, police actions in Ferguson (Black Lives Matter) and New York City (I Can’t Breathe), and terrorism in Paris (Je suis Charlie).

More than 16 million American children live in poverty, and it’s a number that has not changed since 2010. UNICEF reports that 76.5 million impoverished kids live in the world’s most affluent countries. A recent news analysis from the Southern Education Foundation found that for the first time, more than half of U.S. public school students live in poor households, and that rate is rising.

Children living in poverty is only one of many issues that can be dramatically improved through greater compassion as the energies change in and around us. Don’t we all yearn for a day when compassion is the guiding tenet of our culture — from the bottom up and the top down?

As each of us makes more conscious choices in the moment — what to put into our bodies as nourishment, how we spend our time, with whom we connect and relate — our notion of governing may transform at the quantum level into smaller communities that reflect our individual energies.

I believe we do create our future. Minneapolis Psychic & Healing Symposium introduces Deborah King

Deborah King, a New York Times best-selling author, spiritual teacher and leading authority on energy healing, will be introduced for the first time in the Upper Midwest at the annual Minneapolis Psychic & Healing Symposium on Saturday, March 7, at Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center. The event is hosted

by Edge Life Expos & Events.

The symposium will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 in advance ($7 at the door), or two for $10 in advance. Speaker tickets range from $25 to $64 and include admission to the event.

Also featured at the event this year is the return of noted author and psychic Michael Bodine, who is known as the Psychic to the Stars, and a Psychic & Healing Panel, which will include intuitives Kayla Michaele of the Twin Cities and Kelli Miller from the Omaha area. Deborah King also will present a daylong workshop on energy healing ($99 in advance) on Sunday, March 8, at the nearby DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis North in Brooklyn Center.

Nearly 90 exhibitors will be on hand offering intuitive readings, wellness products, healing resources, jewelry, crystals and other unique gift items.

Deborah King is the author of Be Your Own Shaman, Truth Heals, and Entangled in Darkness, and she is a featured contributor in a number of print and online publications. The fifth annual Paganicon Midwest Conference will take place March 13-15 at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel, 1500 Park Place Blvd., Minneapolis, hosted by Twin Cities Pagan Pride and a host of volunteers to provide an educational and social venue for Pagans, Wiccans, Heathens, Druids, and other folk, craft, indigenous or magickal traditions.

Paganicon, a Pagan conference with workshops, panels, discussions, social space, live music, a ball, vendors and more, will honor two special guests this year:  Selena Fox — A Pagan priestess, shamanic healer and interfaith minister and author, Selena is senior minister of Circle Sanctuary, which has been serving Pagans worldwide with publications, events, networking, civil rights activism and other services since 1974. A lifelong environmentalist, Selena is founder of Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve in southwestern Wisconsin.

She is a consultant on nature religion for a variety of institutions, including universities, hospitals and government agencies. Selena hosts a weekly internet radio show, Circle Craft Study, and travels internationally

presenting workshops and rituals.  Lupa Greenwolf — A Pagan author, Lupa also is an artist, Eco psychologist and naturalist from Portland, Ore. How changing your brain will change your life

by Dr. Michael Cotton We all want to have a deeper understanding of how our brains work; after all, the brain we are born with is the brain we must use.

So it behooves us to understand exactly what this thing in our head does and exactly how it does it. And let’s agree that we innately crave new things in our lives, new understandings, new information, and new ways to do and be in the world, in other words, change. So let’s take a look at some revolutionary understandings surrounding the brain.

Our brain has developed over time in layers — as nature never abandons something that works — and so it builds upon it. It began with the reptilian-survival brain, the first and oldest structure. When born into a world full of threats (think sabre-toothed tigers), it makes perfect sense that this part of our brain developed first to survive these threats and perpetuate our species. So this part of your brain, having hundreds of thousands of years of practice, has become extremely adept at making decisions that keep you alive.

This is good, because the alternative is death.

There is only one problem with this: 99 percent of our sensory experience is first filtered through our lower, survival brain. It receives all sensory information below the conscious threshold, which means you are not consciously aware of what this part of your brain is thinking or doing until it makes a decision (think instincts). This part of your brain is also responsible for the stress response, dictating how often it’s used and where vital blood flow, oxygen and metabolism are routed. We all know how harmful stress can be for us, and this part of your brain — being in a constant state of hyper-vigilant alertness for threats in your environment — makes biological choices for you in which you have no say.

And the kicker to all this is that the logic governing these choices is sameness equals safety.

That’s right. You have a part of your brain constantly trying to make you do the same things over and over and over again because you simply survived. This part of your brain is not responsible — nor does it care about — your happiness, reaching your goals, finding out who you are or what you are meant to do. It literally only cares if you survived until the next day — so with its logic, it then says, “Success! Now, let’s duplicate that.” Can you see how this has affected you? Any pattern that keeps playing out in your life over and over is linked into a dead-end, neuro-synaptic loop by this part of your brain.

So the question becomes, how do we release the lower, survival brain’s hold? The answer lies in the other higher structures of our brain, primarily the prefrontal cortex.

Eating supports your spiritual self Sound Bites

by Julie McMahon We need sound nutrition to support our spiritual evolution. This is about eating in a way that not only supports optimal physical health, but also prepares our bodies to handle the increase in the higher vibrational energies associated with higher levels of consciousness and spiritual awareness. While we cannot eat our way into being a more spiritual person, upgrades in our diet and lifestyle can dramatically improve our levels of spiritual awareness and readiness.

How do we eat in a way that will support the awakening of spiritual energy? One strategy is to Eat from the Rainbow! Eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that represent the color spectrum of the rainbow.

The month of February is commonly associated with the Heart Chakra. Opening this fourth chakra is enhanced by eating from the color green. Think kale, collards, swiss chard, spinach, arugula, romaine, lettuce, parsley and cilantro. Greens are one of the most forgotten foods in our diets today.

Here’s one of my favorite green recipes: Lemon Sesame Glazed Greens 1 to 1-1/4 pounds stemmed hearty greens, mustard greens or kale 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 lemon, zested 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tablespoon honey 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 1. Remove any large stems from the greens and wash them thoroughly. Once clean, roughly chop the greens. You should have 1 to 1-1/4 pounds finished greens once they are stemmed. (Weigh the greens after stemming, but before washing.)

2. Heat a large 13 x 11-inch roasting pan set over 2 burners on medium heat. Once hot, add the olive oil.

Add the garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper and stir to combine. Add the greens and saute for 4 to 5 minutes, tossing continually. Add the red pepper flakes and the sesame seeds. Toss to combine. Adjust seasoning, if needed. You need to strike a balance between work and home, and now is the time to be at home, reflecting on your career. Are you happy with it? The Edge Interview with Deborah King Master Energy Healer to Keynote Psychic & Healing Symposium

King’s life-changing career path, from young up-and-coming attorney diagnosed with cancer to noted author, spiritual teacher and energy healer, continues to impress audiences far and wide, but what is attracting the most attention today is her ability to teach people to heal themselves and her emphasis on each of us living our truth and discarding the lies we tell ourselves over and over.

“Unless you’re living in your truth,” she said in an interview with The Edge, “you’re slowly killing yourself — and then that takes us right back to meditating and journaling and doing whatever works for you to get to your truth, like walking or playing tennis or doing yoga or whatever drops you into your body and gives you a chance to actually get in touch with your thoughts.

“The worst lies of all are the ones we tell ourselves. They are the most damaging.

‘Oh, I love my job!’ Perhaps that is not true.

Maybe you’re stuck with your job because you’ve got that big student loan, and you really regret studying accounting, but here you are, you’re now a full-fledged CPA and you haven’t got the heart to say, ‘I hate it.’

Those kinds of lies are very, very damaging, and so I urge people to get in touch with how you really feel, and don’t lie to yourself.

Absolutely don’t. You may not necessarily be able to change it right now, but you need to know how you really feel.”

She spoke with The Edge about her journey and the training she offers people to heal themselves.

You have transformed from a young lawyer who discovered she had an alcohol dependency to noted author, energy healer and spiritual teacher. What spurred such a great change in you?

years, Tim. I was in my twenties and was fast moving and on the corporate track. I was only six months out of law school and found out I had cervical cancer. It was really quite startling, and made me stop, get off the track I was on, and really take a look at myself.

That was disconcerting, because I found out I had addictions, which I was not aware of, and I had a lot of repressed trauma, which I didn’t want to think about, but was fully aware of. This was more than 25 years ago, so my thinking was very radical at the time, but quite conventionally alternative now.

I suspected there might be a connection between my illness and my emotions, so I worked with my physician, bought some time, started looking for early alternative solutions and stumbled on energy healing fairly quickly. I had a few sessions and had an amazing remission. It changed my life. I got very interested in it. I continued to prac-

people is when I ask them, “Why do you think you have X?” they will usually give me an emotional causation. They’ll say, “Well, you know, I never recovered from my dad’s death,” or “I can’t get over my divorce,” or whatever.

Almost 100 percent of the time they will point to an emotional component — and they’re right, of course. The physician to Bill Clinton was doing his internship in cardiology when he asked permission to do a study at the hospital where he was working by going to each person who checked in with a heart attack and ask, “Do you know why you had your heart attack?”Every single one of them said, “Yes, I do.” And each one pinpointed an emotional reason. Every single one. Pretty interesting, huh?

Indeed! In teaching, emotions, disease?

DK: What

the 15 years since you have been what have you learned about in terms of how they cause

we do is we don’t process them.

We’re not taught that as children. None of the contemporary Western cultures teaches the child how to process their emotions.

We’re taught to bottle them up or suppress them. You know, “Be a little man at grandma’s funeral and don’t cry,” or “Buck up now” — all the things we teach kids. And I was taught by the best. We all are. Our parents are quite good at it.

Once bottled up, emotions start to do harm — first to your energy field, and then later to your body.

Is there a way an average person can diagnose that for themselves?

DK: Oh, absolutely. I would suggest that

they pick up my book Truth Heals, where I teach that very thing, chakra by chakra.

The human energy field that you’re sitting inside of is the bell weather of your physical health and your emotional body. Chakras are powered by emotion, and there are easy ways to learn how to check your own chakras and determine the state of the health of your energy field. Your body looks just like your field. Your body actually grows out of your field.

What are the keys to becoming more truthful about our emotions.

DK: I urge people to journal. I think that’s

one of the great ways. But what I’ve noticed is that different things work for different people. For one person it might be playing basketball. It’s a good way to get in touch with how they feel. For somebody else, it might be taking a walk. We all have various ways of dropping in and getting connected to ourselves.

What will people experience at your talk at the Minneapolis Psychic and Healing Symposium?

DK: It’s going to be great fun. I know that

some people are going to experience spiritual initiations, because I can already see that one coming. That’s a rather peculiar specialty I have. That started to evolve maybe 20 years ago and involved helping people ascend to a higher spiritual level, which is a vibrational change. It’s energetic, and it really affects the body, especially when someone goes from the second to the third level. They feel it. I know that will be a big component at this particular symposium because I am being given that information fairly early on.

I would encourage people to come see me who are hoping to step up spiritually.

What will people receive from the day-long workshop that they may not receive from the keynote talk that you give?

DK: In the workshop on Sunday I’ll be

teaching techniques to take home and do on your own. Attendees will be practicing techniques themselves. I’m planning to share shamanic techniques — especially uncording techniques — that I have found to be really effective for people. A lot of us drag stuff around from earlier in our lives when we were incorrectly corded to someone else, perhaps an ex-partner or an ex-employer or an ex-family member, ex-mother-in-law — or even someone that you love dearly, but somehow you got entangled with them incorrectly. You can remove the incorrect aspect of the cord without disturbing the good aspects. I’ll be teaching that, as well as some hands-on healing, which I find people learn very easily and very quickly and just love to take home and help their loved ones and their pets.

Are you encouraged by the growing interest in energy healing?

DK: Oh, totally! It was almost a forbidden

topic when I was first teaching. It was not something one mentioned unless you wanted to have the men in the white coats come and pick you up. Now it’s very openly discussed and pretty well accepted. My time has come!

It’s a positive sign for our evolution.

DK: It is! Great point. We are a species

evolving. We really are.

For somebody who feels like they need to change and they don’t know where to turn or what to do, what daily tools would you recommend for them?

DK: I have one, meditating, but preferably

with a mantra that has been selected for you by a teacher like myself — not just trying to sit in silence, which you can’t do today. There’s too much chaos in the Universe for that. When people tell me they’re trying to meditate, I always know they don’t have a format yet that works. I encourage a real meditative format that you use daily, because meditation is incremental and it only works if done every day. Twenty minutes is plenty, but you’ve got to do it every day.

I’m also big on journaling. Call it what you will. You can write in the sand or on a watermelon or whatever suits you, but the key is to get it out of your head and out of your heart and down your arms and into something, a keyboard or piece of paper.

Write down how you really feel, not how you wish you felt or how you think you should feel, but how you really feel. Don’t try to change it. Honor it: “This is how I feel.”

Express it, and then it’s not suppressed and stored somewhere in your liver or somewhere else.

Some of the things that your mother taught you are incredibly valid, like a little fresh air, a little exercise, good sleep, good food, good water.

Thanks for talking with me, Deborah. Is there any final word you would like to share with our readers?

DK: It’s just so important that they know

that they are loved in the eyes of Spirit, just the way they are right now. They don’t have to lose 20 pounds or get another degree or some other achievement. Source, which created them, loves them just as they are. There is not enough self-love around.

There is too much self-criticism and shame and discouragement. Conscious choice accelerates awakening A Pleiadian Message

The illumination energy that has entered your planet since the New Year continues to unfold, bringing to each one of you an expanded opportunity to move forward another step in reaccessing sacred aspects of your own pure source connection within your heart space.

Your conscious choice connection within your heart space accelerates your awakening. Each time you consciously choose to connect into your heart, a higher dimensional path is forged to your higher self.

The wheel turns as you move forward, reconnecting to your power, reclaiming the truth of your own sacred nature as you move to your next level of opening that is created within your heart center.

Remember that you are having a human experience on this earth plane. Each one of you has said “yes” to being here, to play your part within this transformational time on the planet. You, each one of you, play an important individual and collective role in the unfolding of the destiny on your planet.

Part of your destiny is to open up now within your sacred heart, making full use of the energetic openings being created by this illumination energy.

This energy carries the sacred design of a multi-dimensional light consciousness to assist you in birthing and reconnecting you to your own unique sacred nature. It gives you access to a remembering of who you are in your sacred form and what you have come to achieve at this time on your earth plane.

In the past, you have been held in place by the strength of the 3rd dimensional illusion; however, with this new fluidity in place there has been a dimensional shift. This shift allows each one of you to be able to disentangle your selves from the old belief systems, old patterns of thought and a loosening of the illusion of which you have seen your self to be. This is definitely a time of many new possibilities opening up for you, a time of self liberation as you open to utilize these light frequencies within the Illumination waves.

Opens doorways in February

These waves, this flow, had a built-in momentum throughout January and now in February opens further doorways/opportunities for you — enabling you to take a further step dimensionally so that your connection within your sacred heart space moves you into a higher frequency of home.

This is the time to begin an accelerated letting go of all 3rd dimensional density.

Past experiences that you are holding onto create blocks within you and keep you in a cycle of self-sabotage, holding you back from receiving what you need in your life

now for your next step. This holding on to the past keeps you in a separated state from you connecting to a higher level Self. It’s as though you have been weighed down, not able to move out from under this heaviness and be free. The Illumination waves bring a release of these blocks so that you can access and reconnect to your own sacred flow.

It is essential at this time for those of you on this conscious path to allow this sacred reconnection. There is an urgency, a calling for each one of you to take a next step into this flowing frequency of love.

What is this flow that is contained within these Illumination waves? This flow is simply an aspect of your own light, your own frequency of divine light waiting to assist you in your life now.

Access information, guidance

As you open into your flow of consciousness, you are able to begin to access information, guidance and clarity within your own life.

This access enables you to work directly with the higher aspect of your Self, moving you into a new “sense of being.” You move into a place of trust through your reconnection to your pure source energy. This energy carries the highest integrity of your own light source that is held within your sacred heart. It moves you into a direct experience, a place of ‘knowing’ and aligning you within each moment. Within the moment, there is no longer a need to analyze with the ego mind but simply just to be, resting in the natural state of being.

Your heart can then naturally open further energetically, like a receiving station, allowing you to move into what we call a state of receivership. This means that you will begin to experience new doors opening up to you on many different levels for you to simply step through and receive what it is you need in your life now. As this happens, there can then be a partnership re-accessed within you. There can develop a conscious

connection between your own higher self and your human part so you can be divinely guided by your own higher self, and the human aspect is supported in your life. This is the plan. This is what you have said yes to!

Each one of you is here to live your own sacred design. Whether you are aware of this or not makes little difference within your process. You see, as a human being your human ego is not in control. The good news is that your ego mind cannot ultimately interfere with your destiny path, because the ego is limited by a 3rd dimensional illusionary perspective. As you align deeper to your heart, your higher self is able to guide you to where you need to be and what you need to be doing in each moment as part of your destiny. bridge between the two parts of you

So it is important to understand the two parts of you that exist, your human aspect and your pure source higher self. The plan is that eventually the human aspect, which is “perfectly imperfect,” will begin to experience the support of your higher self. As your human aspect opens to the truth that you are not alone, there will be a bridge that begins to build between your human self and the pure source energy of your higher self.

Remember that you have come to have a human experience on this earth plane, and it is an essential part of your enlightenment process that you continue to have the human experience — even as you awaken. The most important step for you as a human being is self-acceptance. Accept the fact that you are imperfect and that all your mistakes have provided a series of experiences to learn and grow on this earth plane. It is necessary for you to be willing to understand your growth around your mistakes and just let them go. Know that they have served their purpose. Let go of the guilt, shame and self-condemnation for all that you have done or have not done. Know that you have done the very best you could in each moment of time.

Another significant aspect that keeps you in a state of separation is the human trait of the “need to be right.” Explore within your self how this “need to be right” controls many of your experiences.

See how it breaks down your spontaneity in the moment and breaks down your experience of joy. See how that “need to be right” controls your every experience. Let go and just give yourself permission not to be right, to simply not know. Feel how liberating it is to open up to just not knowing, by saying, “I don’t know!”

Door to your heart

Through self-acceptance comes self-love, and the very essence of self-love opens the door to your heart. In one moment of allowing self-acceptance, every cell in your body transforms. Within that moment your cells begin a rejuvenation process as they take in the self-loving energy. Every time you can embrace this moment of Pleiadian continued on page 22 

A Conversation on Ascension

with Jeannie Hamm

Read the full interview at Edgemagazine.net Jeannie Hamm, of Ascension Spirit, teaches her students ways to navigate life more effortlessly and joyfully, in the midst of all of the vast changes taking place within themselves and around the planet. Her path, like that of many spiritual teachers, was realized in response to personal challenges in life.

“I started a meditative practice in my teens,” she said in an interview with The Edge, “and in my twenties I had an Indian guru and did a variety of different kinds of things. I had a major health challenge in my late twenties and thirties, and that led me to alternative medicine, which opened up an amazing number of avenues for me to explore understanding. My illness was an Epstein-Barr chronic fatigue condition that I had for seven years, and I came to understand it as an energetic outgrowth of some emotional issues that I needed to deal with. So I began exploring the Barbara Brennan school and other hands-on healing techniques and alternative therapies.

“I just decided at a certain point to stop monkeying around and really get busy with what I feel I came here to do, which was to raise my consciousness level to the highest possible level that I could achieve. I did that for two reasons: for my own personal growth, and because it contributes to the collective.

Everybody’s consciousness contributes to the collective, so when you do it for yourself, you do it for the Collective. Personal growth is 100 percent service to others.”

Her principle question is: “How can we connect with Source, navigate each day with ease and grace and experience a joyful, integrated life?” Jeannie’s response relates to making conscious choices in this moment, followed by course corrections as you move along in your journey.

“It’s the choices that you make every moment that determine your path,” she said. “People ask me, ‘Is there fate or is there free will?’ You pick your fate. You pick it every moment.”

Jeannie Hamm spoke with The Edge about ascension, the path each one of us has chosen as the planet and all of her beings are vibrating increasingly at higher levels.

How do you define Ascension?

Jeannie Hamm: Ascension, for me, is simply

the raising of all of our bodies — our physical body, our emotional body, our mental body and our spiritual body — to a higher level of consciousness and multidimensional awareness.

We are all doing it, but some of us are doing it consciously. Those of us who are doing it consciously are making it easier and easier for the collective to do it, as well.

Is this a case of making conscious choices during this process by choosing higher levels or ways of being, such as living in compassion and living more from the heart?

JH: Absolutely. I would say that is the key

part of the process. I think coming from the heart and accessing emotions such as compassion are the key. We’ve all been indoctrinated through our culture, through our parents, and even through our very well meaning elders and teachers, to have some limited beliefs and some limited belief structures. The key is to go into the heart and open yourself as widely as you can to the feelings of compassion.

There are some tools that can help you when the inevitable wobbles appear and you get thrown off balance. When problems occur in our lives, they actually are all growth opportunities and learning opportunities that are presenting themselves to you as a way to transcend whatever issue is coming up for you to look at. The key is to come from the heart.

Your path involves the practice of Mastering Alchemy. What is that and how does it relate to the ascension process?

JH: I have been with many different teachers

on many different paths starting from when I was a teenager. I’m in my late fifties now, so I’ve experienced a lot of things and I’ve gone in a lot of different directions. Every single one of them has added to my knowledge of how I work, how the Universe works, how the Universe and I intersect, what my role is, and how I experience myself in that role.

Mastering Alchemy was a very key component for me, simply because it broke down the process of ascension into discreet and finite steps, little benchmarks, where it was very clear to me how the journey would be for me. It appealed to the left brain, rational mind, part of me, because I still had a large stake in that world. I also have an intuitive, right brain side, as everyone does. This particular pathway for me was very useful in helping to integrate those two parts of myself, which is extremely important in integrating all of these energies.

Alchemy, which may be unfamiliar to some, is simply the process of transforming one possibility into another. Mastering Alchemy is a way to interface with the third- and fourth-dimensional world that we live in, because it has a rational explanation and it also helped move me along the path to the more intuitive higher states of consciousness, which are only experiential.

So, it was a bridge.

How did Mastering Alchemy lead to what you’re currently doing with your personal business? Is it the full part of what you teach, or do you teach a lot of other components?

JH: I still teach Mastering Alchemy level

I, which I think is amazing material — a very broad and yet comprehensive, practical way to dip your toe into the water if you’re starting to explore these ideas. I love teaching the course. It’s probably my favorite thing to do. But I also do other things, as well, and I am redesigning my website to reflect that.

I’m designing a course called “Structure in the Universe,” which looks at sacred geometry in its outward expression, both in nature and in man’s creation, and reflection on some of the Divine geometric templates that also surround the physical body. It explores the relationship between humankind and the universe, in nature and in our creations. I will be offering my Mastering

Alchemy course at the end of May, and I will also be offering my Structuring the Universe course sometime in the spring.

emotional, mental or spiritual bodies. I see it as something that is connected to me, but it’s not something I have to merge with.

What is your message to those who are struggling in the third dimension and long for ascension or the ideas that you are talking about?

JH: My first message is to relax and trust

Or identify yourself with?

JH: Right. It is happening and I’m observing

that you are here at the perfect time, that this is a soul-chosen moment for you. We’ve all chosen to be here at this particular time when the Earth is ascending and we’re ascending with it. It’s a wonderful time to be alive and to be here and to be part of the process.

What’s the best way to respond to those growth opportunities at the time?

JH: What I do first of all is get centered in

my body. I find the center of my head, which is the command center, what some people who are a little bit more advanced may know as the pineal center. Then I connect that command center to my sacred heart, so I have the heart and mind connection. And through a variety of tools, I align myself so that I can see all of these outside influences in my life as Shakespeare’s theater, outside of my field. I can observe what’s taking place, and it’s something I can respond to, but I don’t need to bring it into my direct energy field, into my aura, into my physical,

it and I can choose to be in that energy if it’s acceptable to me or I have the opportunity to just observe it and let it pass by. It’s a response rather than a reaction. So, what I would say is to be in the now moment. When you’re in a third dimensional consciousness, you experience time differently from when you’re in a fourth- or fifth-dimensional consciousness.

The third-dimensional consciousness is a linear time construct — past, present and future, but really there is hardly any present.

There is usually a reactionary present time moment where you’re drawing from your fears or your experiences in the past and you’re putting them out in front of you, in terms of fear or worry or anxiety. You are really being governed by the past or anxiety about the future.

In a fourth-dimensional present time moment, everything is the now. Something is happening and you observe from the now. It doesn’t matter what happened in the past. It doesn’t matter what’s going to happen in the future. What are you going to do about it right now? That’s where you make decisions that generally lead to

happiness and well-being — and you’re not creating another problem that you’re going to have to deal with down the road, because you’re going to be centered, you’re going to be coming from love, you’re going to be coming from compassion, you’re going to be coming from well-being, not threatened by survival or fear.

The fifth-dimensional time construct is simultaneous time where you create in the moment. A lot of people are moving toward that. It can be attained by anyone on Earth.

The key is consistency, which is created by “keeping your attention on your intention.” As souls, we are all going to get there eventually. The Earth is transitioning from a third-dimensional consciousness, through a fourth-dimensional consciousness, to a fifth-dimensional consciousness, and she is taking her life forms with her. FOLLOWING THE FLOW OF ASCENSION Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather Perhaps it’s only psychological, but there’s something inexplicably special about the New Year. Like the tabula rasa of Western philosopher John Locke, there’s a sense of fresh encoding.

Experiences await imprinting on our souls. Whiter than the unspoiled snow atop the river’s ice flows, the months of 2015 extend their prestigious white carpet. Walking the white expanse is, of course, an inadequate metaphor for the process of ascension, which I can only discuss meaningfully with the help of the Guides.

Ascension is so much more than religious enthrallment.

Western iconography regularly depicts men and women of different ages, their faces beaming, arms extended upward toward heaven. Their attitude of bliss and surrender makes us imagine an orchestral crescendo accompanying their celestial “beam up.” That is one version of the process, but consider another kind of vision: Ascension is as natural as breathing. It is the movement into the next dimension of our journey.

We arrange our consciousness around a linear model of growth. We maintain journals and log our life’s events as presumably consecutive. What if we took the small step of wrapping our consciousness around a model that was more spherical? In other words, instead of seeing ourselves as following the bread crumbs sequentially along the trail, what if we were to see the heart as a center from which circles move concentrically outward toward infinite space? Each sphere would “contain” the previous one yet encompass even more awareness and understanding. Mine is a

At the same time our mediarich culture increasingly offers the possibility to acquire a mindset that is powerfully deconstructive of the illusions of the ego.

Spiritually, this is equivalent to lighting a match in a room soaked in gasoline: a spiritual explosion is the most likely result.

facile metaphor, but it serves as a heuristic approach to help us grasp what language seems inept to convey.

Avatars and ascended masters fortunately harbor great compassion for us. They have come again — as they have countless times — to guide us toward what is so plain and simple. They remind us that love is the primal creative force, that light is our source of knowledge and understanding, and that we are not yet, as Aunt Nan used to put it, “the brightest shiny little stars on the horizon.”

Mandan Turtle Priest Cedric Red Feather keeps me ever mindful of the Michael Teachings (Michael is a mid-causal entity recorded in books by Chelsea Yarbro), which are so helpful in understanding our human situation. Younger souls are out trying to change the world; mature and old souls focus inwardly upon changing themselves. We need only perform our parts in the cosmic drama gratefully, and with loving intent, and we will experience the evolution and growth of the soul.

Like lazy vacationers, however, we often linger too long in the warm, aquamarine waters, distracted by gentle breezes, swaying palms and sweet beverages. We form attachments and become acquisitive. We tend to invite false longings into the palace of our hearts instead of the light that will bring us more than we could ever dream possible.

Beyond my fourth floor balcony, a mysterious rolling mist streams over the semi-frozen Minnesota River. Cold rippling waters, diverted by blue-white sheets of ice, move determinedly from the west. The frosted sky surrounding it divides into striated layers. A white cloud rift forms a creamy center, beneath which stretches a pale turquoise strip of morning sky and above which beams a deep cornflower blue expanse. The trees are bare and sepia-toned but seem to glow now with a rosy lustre from the angle

reports of the rare soul who traversed the path to the spiritual mountain tops alone.

The results were both profound and heretofore unexplainable. Who were these Avatars: Buddha, Christ, Ramana, Meher Baba? The irony is that, universally, we are taught by realized teachers that we are not separate individuals, and yet, to date, we have been taught to see enlightenment, or ascension, as the accomplishment of separate extraordinary individuals!

The insights of non-duality teach that the reality-trance narrative of the individual ego is an illusion. It follows that there are not really individual stories happening: there is only one story, and that is the unfolding of divine purpose in the cosmos.

And unlike the dead matter story that we were taught in school, that cosmos is not comatose. The cosmos is a living, conscious being, propagating through space-time as a quantum, non-local field of vibrating waves.

Furthermore, that being can be seen to have qualities that emerge over time, qualities that most closely resemble what humans would call profound, unconditional,and inexhaustible love.

The great miracle of human life is that as creatures, our nervous systems have been crafted, through evolution, as an instrument of divine purpose, to be able to experience that loving and infinitely intelligent

quantum consciousness directly. As humans we can do that, because it is what we were created to do.

That experience of tuning our nervous systems to the cosmic quantum wave has been called many things: enlightenment, nirvana, salvation, ascension. Words pull us back toward the reality tunnels of ordinary human social consciousness. But we live in an age in which conceptual, psychological and spiritual technology is increasingly available, technology that can allow the great joy of spiritual ecstasy and profound mental clarity of quantum entrainment to emerge no longer in isolated avatars, but as an expected and common development among all of humanity.

EXPLORING THE CHALLENGE, REWARDS OF ASCENSION

by Eric J. Christopher While meditating, a vision appeared to me: a multitude of people were climbing up the terraced steps of a pyramid-shaped mountain, covering all sides of it. They represented humanity on different levels and places in their evolutionary growth. Some were being helped up while others were turning around and pulling up someone below them as they made their way to the top. I realized this vision symbolized what we are striving to accomplish as human beings on earth…we are moving from the sleep of ignorance to the dawn of awakening to who and what we really are… our journey toward SelfRealization.

It could also be framed as a path leading from suffering to bliss. This is a journey that we are all on, whether we are aware of it or not. At this point in our human evolution, most of us are not aware in this moment that we are actually brilliantly free spiritual beings having a human experience, although that is rapidly changing along with so many other things these days. becoming more present

As I journey on my own path of awakening, guiding some while being supported by others, ascension for me means becoming more fully present here and now in the body, feeling the richness of emotions as well as the myriad expressions of the senses.

However, this is impossible to do for long periods of time, because our thinking mind mostly operates from the past and pulls us into the future. Overcoming this dilemma of trying to maintain full presence then becomes a matter of proper identification — no longer identifying with our fluctuating emotions and thoughts, but rather with that which never goes away, the deeper sense of life and “beingness” that is hidden within each one of us.

Being fully present goes hand in hand with becoming more aware of who and what is always present in the body — our spiritual self.

When we only identify with our human self and the thoughts and feelings that rise and fall within us, we unconsciously operate from the conditioning and programming of our past. Frequently, painful emotions are avoided. However, the act of avoidance locks them in a repeating pattern within the body/mind system, while permitting them to be fully felt allows that emotional energy to pass through. When you know and identify yourself as the life that animates the body, when you know that as a soul you are role playing here and can never ultimately be harmed, then even painful emotions can be fully felt and understood not only as a different vibration in the body, but also as part of the rich human experience. By embracing all of our negative or painful emotions and releasing them in a healthy manner, we no longer are unconsciously influenced by them in a limiting way, and thus a filter falls away as we become clearer and lighter vessels for our soul to shine through. This process is one avenue or by-product of ascension.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ASCEND?

by Maggie Chula Many people have shared that humanity is going through an ascension process.

What does this mean for you and your life?

According to the vibrational beings who channel wisdom through me, this ascension process is a form of expansion for your consciousness — an energetic push from your Soul to wake up and admit you are more than the life you are living here on Earth.

Wake up and become consciously aware of the part of you that dwells outside your physical body, the part of you known as your Soul. You are being guided to expand your ability to consciously connect to the Source of your being and to use your Soul’s wisdom to create your life on Earth.

In the past, you have not been trained to acknowledge or use this part of your mind.

You have been taught and encouraged to support an understanding that only select people have a connection to the Universal Source of God. As your ability to connect to the wisdom of your Soul grows and expands, you are waking up and challenging this man-made truth.

Today, many of you do understand there is a higher intelligence controlling the Universe, and you are connected to this vibration through your Soul. You are opening up to the understanding that there

are other beings around you, beings without a body who can communicate with you as you are learning how to communicate with them. These pure vibrational beings are known as angels and ascended masters.

You are becoming more aware of the many levels and layers of your being. You are growing in your awareness of how your thoughts and beliefs affect your physical body. You are able to consciously access more of the wisdom that is flowing to you from your Soul. You are expanding your ability to collect and assess wisdom through many means other then the five primary senses you were taught.

You are becoming more sensitive to the things that are happening within the world, because you are now vibrating on a higher energetic level — and this is in part due to the evolution and expansion of Earth. As Earth evolves and shifts into a higher level of energetic vibration, humankind and the living beings on this planet are affected.

You are affected because everything in the Universe is made up of energetic vibrations.

As you become more sensitive to the energetic vibrational shifts within the planet, you are also becoming more sensitive to the energetic shifts taking place within your life.

Your way of viewing life is changing. As your view of life changes, you are becoming more

aware that you have the power to create your life. This power is the ability to choose how you think and react to the situations that take place in your life. Make your own choices about the actions you want to take to move your life in a direction of your choosing.

This is a wonderful time to be alive. You have more say in what you will do to earn a living. You can decide who you will love, where you will live, how you will spend your free time. You are waking up to the fact that you are part of the Universal Source of God, you have a Soul and you are learning how to expand your conscious connection to your Soul’s wisdom.

The purpose for this ascension and expansion of consciousness to your Soul Wisdom is to help you create a more harmonious world. Live in harmony with other people and with the many other forms of life on planet Earth. of the mid-morning sun. All these sacred parts of creation play their parts unselfconsciously as I observe their beautiful procession.

I resolve to expand my vision. I must work more earnestly at transmuting afflictive emotions that rise and fade and threaten to derail my approach toward highest enlightenment. My mind and its crazy ideas, my ego and its narcissistic enthronement, must be dimmed with the rheostat of wisdom until I become filled with pure light and thus, “en-light-ened.”

Ascension is the gradual, studied flow of the river, a movement outward into luminous spheres of awareness, a pink and white lotus blossoming out of our bodies. Breathe deeply. Meditate often. Transmute all negatives into positives. Radiate love. Live, as Cedric admonishes, in a universe without judgment. Match the frequency of the next sphere — the way a delicate bird’s song complements the bandwidth of soft orange and pink light as the sun imperceptibly rises yet again. a

After my vision, I wanted to commit it to canvas, but my artistic abilities stop at anything beyond a stick person. However, at a Christmas party, I met Laura Ungs who specializes in painting the concepts that people have in their minds. That beautiful painting (see page 19) now hangs in my office, a fitting place because my therapy practice focuses on guiding my clients to release and heal their limiting beliefs and emotions that were planted in the past, but continue to affect their present. Once the old programs are released or seen through, clients are no longer unconsciously governed by their limiting emotional patterns and they become freer beings. This healing then creates a ripple effect through the interactions of all their relationships.

This reminds me of a quote from Paramahansa Yogananda: “When you heal yourself, you do your part in healing the world.”

THE ASCENSION — INDIVIDUALLY, COLLECTIVELY

by Susan Broadwell We ascend individually as we accumulate enough Light in our souls, taking us to a higher frequency of Light than we were living at previously. Many people are ascending right now, and they will continue to do so until the Collective Ascension, the date of which has not yet been determined, but likely at least seven years from now.

This is the first time that humanity has ascended within the physical body. In the past, souls could only ascend through the process of physical death. This ascension is truly remarkable and something that has been planned for thousands of years.

There are 144,000 souls that are bringing through the most Light for the Earth and humanity, to heal and to ascend. These 144,000 souls are not necessarily healers, and they are evenly distributed around the Earth. Many millions of Lightworkers (also not necessarily healers) also are bringing in the Light. Many are everyday people living with open hearts and being the Light.

The ascension process allows us to flow the Light from Heaven through our entire beings (spiritual, emotional and physical). This increases peace and clarity dramatically, and it can eliminate disease, reverse aging and open up many spiritual gifts. Once a person has reached the 5th dimensional frequency and is holding it consistently, they will no longer be able to lower their vibration. The more people who can flow The Light at this higher vibration, the more assistance we can provide to Earth and humanity as a whole.

At the time of the Collective Ascension, there is the possibility that 10 percent of humanity could be living 5th dimensionally. Those living at this vibration will have an easier time transitioning to the 5th dimensional physical world during the Collective Ascension.

Knowing more about the ascension process allows you to live with more peace in knowing where you are going and that you are a significant part in creating something quite miraculous.

You are fundamentally helping humanity just by Being Yourself.

Disinformation has been shared that some

healers can “activate” others so that they are able to ascend. This is not true. No one can buy their ascension. Your soul knows what to do. You, however, must learn to listen to it. Forgiveness is key to the ascension process — forgiving others and, most importantly, yourself — for everything.

Another key is trusting yourself and not giving your power away to another person, or another spiritual being. Ascension is about trusting in the power, truth, love and wisdom of your own soul, and strengthening this connection.

Simple practices can assist in keeping your energy body strong. Breathing into each chakra (including the new chakras opening up) and exhaling with sound helps to release lower energy and balances and strengthens each chakra. It is also helpful to know that some practices could be slowing down your vibration without you knowing it. One example is when people go to multiple practitioners and give away their power, rather than going within themselves for their answers.

In some select situations, this can stop their individual ascension process.

Another concern involves 3rd dimensional healers who work on a 4th or 5th-dimensional client. They will often see “issues” where there aren’t any, as they are seeing new chakras opening with which they are not familiar. If the 3rd dimensional healer then tries to close or do something to the new chakra opening, this can definitely harm a client. It’s always best to go within and ask for direction from your soul and then make decisions accordingly.

Trust in knowing that all is well, and your soul knows how to help you ascend. Go within and listen. Let go and forgive. Choose what’s truly best for you. Embrace all of you.  Pleiadian continued from page 15 truth of self-acceptance, that bridge between your human self and higher self can expand to another level. This is your path. Self-acceptance is your way home through your heart and remember, you do not have to do it perfectly! Each moment is accumulative.

As you open into a moment of self-acceptance, you may feel a vulnerability within you. This vulnerability is a direct result of your heart space transforming, expanding energetically as you are re-aligned to a sacred flow opening deeper within your heart center. As your heart transforms, there can be an experience of feeling isolated, feeling alone within this experience. Know that as you step out into new realms within your self, there are always moments of feeling alone or of being different. This is to be expected; it is a natural experience. You will find that this experience of being alone does not last. It is a necessary energetic shift that takes place within you as you begin to align to another road, to link to higher aspects of awareness within your self.

It is important as this transitional movement takes place within you that you do not pull back, but instead, trust and let go — forging forward within your vulnerability, reaching in deeper towards your new experience. You will have moments when you will connect and experience new levels of truth within your self. There will be internal revelations taking place, such as understandings and clarity around current situations in your life, what your next step should be and a deeper appreciation revealed about your self, glimpsing the depth of your own pure source flow. Ultimately, you will come into a new experience of being interconnected to a network of consciousness. You will be in the home space of your heart.

 Brain continued from page 9 brains, and has been said to be the brain’s executive center or “CEO.” It is responsible for our highest states of being up to and including the classical enlightenment experience.

Since discovering that the vast majority of people use this portion of their brain the least, researchers have been plumbing the depths of what it’s responsible for and what are its potentials.

Through this research, Dr. Andrew Newbert discovered that “Awakening is primarily due to a change in brain function with a shift in brain dominance to the prefrontal area. There is a shift of the brain’s command center and the individual wakes up to a higher level of consciousness and to a new reality, which seems even more real than the old one.”

So with this new knowledge of the role/function of the different structures of the brain, we come to an obstacle.

In order for the most-evolved structure of our brain (the prefrontal cortex) to fully come online and become humanity’s default brain state, it needs three things — energy, blood flow (metabolism) and oxygen — so it can start rewiring our brain via neuroplasticity.

The lower survival brain is currently hijacking these three things to feed its own structures and patterns. In the past this was good because it led to the survival of our species, but times have changed and there are not immediate survival threats in our modern world as there were hundreds of thousands of years ago.

It’s time for our lower brains to stop being our default-brain state, unconsciously running our lives in circles of sameness.

Enough is enough.

There may be millions of facts and possibilities, but the brain is capable of producing a single, and often the only, correct answer.”
