Get the dream job, win the lottery, have your kids respect you, find your dream lover (the one that will adore you and never leave), be totally confident 24/7, eat voraciously without gaining weight, pick the next president — hell, be the next president, win the Kentucky Derby, become a Hollywood star or starlet... the list is endless.

All this (and more) would create the perfect life. And living the perfectly delicious life of no suffering, you’d be the perfect you!!!

Remember, the King tried this with young Siddhartha who lived in ultimate luxury in a pleasure palace with the most beautiful woman and servants attending to every want, need and desire. Didn’t work. He split and became Buddha.

The Conscious Dying Institute (CDI) is continuing to work with medical practitioners, caretakers, mental health professionals, and family and community members to restore death back to its sacred place in the Circle of Life. Its next offering in Minnesota is a three-month, on-and-off site course involving transformational liferenewing content and healing modality training.

Death is the one process in life all are guaranteed, yet very few talk about, let alone, prepare people for it. CDI is working to change this in order to support individuals, families and communities in not only facilitating individuals to die well, but living their most complete and joyful lives. Death is constantly woven into one’s life — whether this takes form in daily decisions, life transitions or physical deaths. CDI’s three-month, end-of-life doula program prepares students to work with death in their own lives, as well as the lives of their family, friends, patients and clients.

“Death gives us the opportunity to clarify, create closure and envision a future we want to live into,” says Brad Smith. “As a healthy 30-year-old, this training has not only supported me in having the emotional and intellectual tools to navigate transition and support family members and clients at the end of life, it has brought clarity and affirmation to my own life, allowing me to fully take advantage of this opportunity to be alive and step into myself.”

CDI is offering a three-month training and certification program called Sacred Passage: End-of-Life Doula.

This program includes online study, completion of practicum within their community, and two transformational in-person retreats in St. Paul. Phase 1 includes pre-course reading material and reflection questions, bringing

experienced laypeople and providers deeper into their relationship with death, expanding their minds and hearts to consider death’s place within life. The first three-day retreat in St. Paul drops all the information into participants’ bodies through experiential exercises with group and personal processes aiming to expand participants’ bandwidth to work with intense emotions.

After Phase 1, students are paired with a program peer to work through the Best Three Months© Coaching framework, and then they are asked to facilitate this process with two community members. The second five-day retreat is a five-domain healing modality training, leading students on a healing journey through spiritual, emotional, physical, legacy and afterdeath care for self and others. At the end of the certification program, participants can expect to be well prepared to facilitate the dying process for individuals, support their peers in transitional times, and be transformed personally to live their life fully.

“The End of Life Doula program took me beyond the physical dying process and into the emotional, spiritual, practical and mental domains,” said CDI facilitator Trish Rux. “While I have worked with dying patients for years, this training supported me in working with patients more holistically and compassionately. Ultimately, this work is life-affirming for both the practitioner and the patient.”

Divide & Conquer — Or?

BY SAHARA DEVI DIVIDE AND CONQUER — the oldest tactic in the world.

And look how successfully it’s been used in our society. What if we recognized that we’ve been manipulated in this way, and are all suffering because of the atmosphere of vilification it has fostered?

I know that people often feel helpless — and that they imagine some politician will be their savior. But that’s simply how we’ve been programmed by the media: that only a superhero can save the day. It’s a tragically false premise — and it’s time we awakened to the fact that the millions we are have the power to make the change we desire.

The fabric of reality — the quantum field — is essentially energy, and so are we. As energy, we vibrate at different frequencies: think heavy metal and the blues. Each component of the body of humanity (person) is contributing to the quality of the whole, and what exists at this time has been created by the fear, anger, etc., of our individual contributions.

Can you not see: as long as we imagine that the “other” is the enemy, we have something or someone to rail against. But we are each our own enemy — as long as we remain riled within, we remain embroiled in, and contributing to, the fiasco without. On the other  see DIVIDE on p. 14

The Oath of a Dreamer

DREAMING AND CHASING the unknown takes guts. The road isn’t always the easiest path to stick to. It calls on you to show up in ways that challenge your faith. Sometimes when you’re traveling the road, there will be seemingly easier paths to take, but they won’t get you to the desired destination. They aren’t truly fulfilling your purpose, and they take you off course.

Often, your task seems daunting when you’re doing it alone. How do you prevent yourself from being distracted or tempted to quit on your dreams?

I recommend making an Oath to Dream.

The definition of an oath is a solemn promise, often invoking a divine witness, regarding one’s future actions or behavior. Not your everyday promise, is it? By changing the verbiage around your dream, you completely change the context, as well. Not only do you make a call for action, but you call on Divinity and allow Spirit to then do some of the work for you.

If you look at some of the greatest books in our spiritual evolution, you’ll see that many of the authors didn’t write the books, Source did.

Spirit took over and guided them. For example, A Course in Miracles by Helen Schulman, claimed that the book was dictated to her word for word via “inner dictation” from a higher source.

Making an Oath to Dream creates sanctity around it and allows Spirit to show itself and takeover. When you’re truly connected to your

power you could control your world and thus be free from all the nasty surprises that turn a good day into hell.

But does it really work that way?

My hypothesis is: it does not. Look at the people who have achieved everything.

Many seem miserable, often to the point of suicide. Personally, I can attest to the fact 8 WWW.EDGEMAGAZINE.NET

that scaling the mountain of money and success is good and all, but at the top, I’m still me. I still get pissed when someone cuts me off in traffic. I still get sad when someone trashes my wife on Facebook.

And furious when I see the lying, cheating, greed and stealing that runs our world.

The statement If I could create life according to my wishes, I would not suffer is simply not true. You will probably suffer less.

Source and purpose, your calling no longer feels like “work.” You are no longer the one doing the work. Source is.

My Oath to Dream looks like this: I solemnly swear that I will faithfully go forth in the direction of my dreams, calling in help from the Divine Spirit to guide me, and give me the confidence I need to execute (insert dream).

Years ago, I knew my voice would be a vessel for Spirit, and I would make an impact through sharing my stories. The oath I made then provided the strength and stability to work through my struggles, allow light to prevail, and my dream to exist.

I think this concept is the first, and the most important thing, you do for your dreams.

I challenge you to make an Oath to Your Dream. Whatever it may be. Going after your dream is scary when you do it alone, but when you call on the Divine for help, it’s way less intimidating. a GARRETT DAVIS is an author, speaker, father and advocate for 5th dimensional consciousness. Esotericism: A Road Map for a-Changin’ Time

BY CHIP HALBACH ONE OF MY FAVORITE Bob Dylan lines is, “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.” This insight can be applied to many facets of life, where something that has become evident through experience or intuited thinking gets ahead of conventional means of framing our understanding of the world.

Sensitivity to many issues now being thrust upon us can be overwhelming as we contend with the like of extreme nationalism, hyper income disparity and environmental destruction. Even further “out there,” UFO investigations corroborate belief in the presence of extraterrestrial visitors among us, and research into near-death-experiences is preparing the way for acceptance of afterlife and reincarnation.

There appears to be change underfoot that goes beyond the capacity of our current institutions to handle. The weatherman and his like, the traditional sources of knowledge, appear deficient.

Perhaps it is time to look beyond conventional sources to better comprehend these turbulent times. Esotericism provides one such alternative road map.

What is esotericism and how would it give context to the forces reshaping our world? Esotericism is a body of knowledge first introduced to the Western world in 1875 by Helena Blavatsky, author of The Secret Doctrine. Essentially, esotericism offers a grand hypothesis describing the evolutionary process as well as the underlying forces shaping all that we experience.

In addition, esotericism presents a methodology for controlling those forces.

Blavatsky’s ideas were connected to a highly evolved group of Tibetan and Indian individuals, called Masters of Wisdom, in esoteric literature. In the 19th century they concluded that many Westerners had reached the state of consciousness where they could utilize esoteric knowledge in a manner that would advance planetary evolution. These Masters identified Blavatsky as being the best available transmitter of this information. With their help, Blavatsky traveled to Tibet for study, digesting the most ancient of manuscripts in order to translate the esoteric concepts for Western audiences.

Building upon their work with Blavatsky, the Masters planned a second stage for the dissemination of esoteric knowledge. Their primary collaborator then was the early 20th century writer Alice Bailey. Working with a Tibetan Master, Djwhal Khul, and 1 0 WWW.EDGEMAGAZINE.NET

transcribing his words through a telepathic process, Bailey produced a vast amount of material conveying the esoteric philosophy.

She also foretold a time in this 21st century when these Masters would emerge and work openly in the world.

Esotericists link this emergence to the transition between the ages of Pisces and Aquarius. This is a period of turmoil; and as with other such transitions, esotericists claim, there comes forward an avatar, or representative of extra-planetary forces, to guide humanity. Esotericists say that the Master, whose name is Maitreya, will serve this role for the Aquarian age. (Most of the major religions also embrace the idea of a coming spiritual leader; many esotericists believe that these are all the same individual.)

In the most recent stage of work for the Masters, a third esotericist, Benjamin Creme, was given the task in 1975 of informing the public of the identify and purpose of Maitreya. Until his death in 2016, Creme, wrote and traveled extensively, to bring attention and prepare humanity for the advent of this Aquarian avatar.

Blavatsky, Bailey and Creme created separate organizations to carry forward their work. These are the Theosophical Society by Blavatsky, Lucis Trust by Bailey, and Share International by Creme.

All of these organizations still exist and serve educational purposes. While the core underpinnings of esotericism are commonly presented, each of the three esotericists brought forward new ideas and applications of esoteric principles. To an extent the esoteric community has been

splintered with some within each of the organizations questioning the genuineness of those associated with the other branches of esotericism.

This noise related to debates over authenticity of the various esoteric authors underscores the need for circumspection.

No one is encouraged to accept esoteric teachings without digging deeply. For example, the aforementioned Djwhal Khul includes the following advisory in every one of the 19 books he wrote with the assistance of Alice Bailey: “The books that I have written are sent out with no claim for their acceptance. They may, or may not, be correct, true and useful. It is for you to ascertain their truth by right practice, and by the exercise of the intuition.”

Esotericists suggest three avenues of practice for supporting one’s own evolution, as well as to strengthen the ability to assess the validity of the esoteric books. First, meditate to connect the lower self, and concrete thinking, to the higher self, the source of intuition; second, study esoteric literature or pursue other disciplines that foster abstract thinking; and third, this means sacrificing oneself to some higher cause. It is said that one’s progress along the evolutionary path can accelerate based on commitment to these practices, from lifetime to lifetime.

Moving from the individual to the global, esoteric writings identify steps humanity must take in order to advance, and avoid self-destruction. We must achieve peace with justice – a justice esotericists link to the recognition that all of humanity is interconnected as a single body and necessitating the sharing of resources so that each individual can reach their potential.

Furthermore, the corruption within our institutions (based on separative thinking and behavior) must be rooted out. Today this translates into an imperative for action to address global warming as well as hunger and homelessness, and supporting universal freedom of expression and access to health care and educational opportunity.

It also calls for holding faith and political leaders accountable for their injustices or inaction.

Esotericists echo Bob Dylan’s awareness that the times they are a-changin’…the old road is rapidly aging, and we are advised to get out of the new one if we can’t lend a hand. While the detail of future events might not be known, we can gain insight into the sweeping pattern of change we are facing, the new road we are on, with the guidance found within the ancient road map of esotericism. a CHIP HALBACH is a Minneapolis-based volunteer with Share International (share-international.org). Affirm: ‘It is Safe to be Alone’ A Monthly Affirmation

BY CHARLOTTE “MAMA” ROSE IT IS ALONENESS THAT allows for togetherness, individuality that allows for community and stillness that allows for movement. We all share the innate desire for connection, with ourselves, with other people, with non-human creatures, with our planet and with energies that are beyond our current scope of awareness. It is this intention for connection that guides us through life, and when we are aware of this intention we can consciously participate in the process of creating connections that nourish, support and sustain us.

This month I invite you to use the affirmation, “It is safe to be alone,” to fortify our intention to create healthy relationships with ourselves and others.

Oftentimes we avoid being alone with ourselves because we perceive ourselves as a threat to our own safety and well-being.

We might choose to consume information, media, food or substances to keep a distance from our own thoughts and feelings. We might even consume other people in the sense that we use their company to fill space that would otherwise allow aspects of our own experience to rise to our awareness. When we recognize what we are consuming, or, what we are using to fill the space in our lives, we can begin to release those things and relax into the fullness of our experience.

The foundation of this process is a fundamental truth: our thoughts and feelings cannot hurt us. It is what we do with our thoughts and feelings that can hurt or help us. In order to experience our thoughts and feelings in a way that supports and nourishes us rather than hurts us, we must release our control of them. So, what does this mean? This means we need to feel! This means we need to use mindful awareness to observe our thoughts without reacting 1 2 WWW.EDGEMAGAZINE.NET

to them or organizing them. Here we must revisit the topic of time, which I write about frequently in my monthly affirmation columns. I invite you to read back through December 2018 to supplement your understanding.

When we consider our past we are working with an interconnected web of thoughts and feelings. It is the awareness of the relationship between our thoughts and feelings that frees us from our past. Some call this process “forgiveness,” some call it “integration” — today we will call it “acceptance.” Time is not only what binds us to our past and carries us into our future, it is literally who and what we are in essence.

Consider this: the past is no longer, so all that remains are thoughts. This is “mental energy,” and it is as real in structure as anything that we can touch; however, it behaves differently. The manifestation, or creation, process is such that our thoughts precede our actions. Even in moments of pure reactivity we are choosing action based on structures of experience and belief that exist within us as mental energy, or, thoughtform. This mental energy extends beyond human functioning. It is a “layer” of the reality that we experience and our awareness allows us to perceive and direct it with our intention. This is how we create.

It is of utmost importance that we direct our mental energy with the intention of creating love, balance, peace, ease, abundance and freedom. This is the same as saying that we direct our lives with the intention of “connection,” because when we are open to the fullness of our experience, connection is a natural result.

Our feelings are the compass within us that shows which intention we are using to direct the creation of our lives. When we feel tightness, fear and dis-ease, we are being shown that we are holding our mental energy tightly in stagnation. To release our

mental energy and free up our process of creation, so that we might see aspects of our lives change, we must feel everything that is present as it arises. When we do this we are guiding our lives with love. This trust, faith, relaxation and allowance shifts our mental energy so quickly that it manifests rapid physical changes in our bodies, life circumstances and environments, because it is connected to the mental energy that precedes each of these things.

This is a process of self-acceptance. We release our control on one level to gain control on a higher level and direct our lives with the intention that takes care of all of the details for us. All we need to know is what love feels like. All we need to do is feel openly, think openly and express ourselves to connect with others throughout the process. There is no wrong way to feel and no wrong thought to think. When we allow our thoughts and feelings to exist in us we are validating them. Validation is what gives them the space to transform, or, heal.

Validation allows us to notice patterns and seek support.

To fully connect with others, we must connect with ourselves. To connect with ourselves, we must feel safe when we are alone with our inner experience. To feel safe, we must connect with others in community so we may share our journeys and realize that, even when we go within, we are truly never alone because we are all doing the same work. We do not have to wait to share our process until we have it all figured out. We simply need to be present with ourselves as we go. This is acceptance.

The space that we give ourselves to feel and think without judgment is exactly what selflove means.

As we continue to do this work, we will completely restructure our society and all of the systems of which we are a part.

Love, connection, balance and peace are all synonymous and this is the intention that is creating a new world. Do not be afraid in the face of adversity, stand firm in your power to choose love and know that in each moment you are doing the work to create from an energetic standpoint that is so powerful, all structures that do not match your intention will naturally fall.

hand, if we create peace within ourselves, we bring peace into our relationships and peace into the world.

We — each one of us — is responsible for how it is “out there” because we, each one of us, contribute whatever we carry within us into the world at large.

“Think globally, act locally.”

The greatest power we have is the ability to transform our own selves, which in turn transforms every relationship and our immediate environment. If we choose to turn our attention away from the national imbroglio and begin to cultivate, embody and express kindness, cooperation and generosity toward the people we encounter as we go about our daily lives, not only will we feel better personally as the energy of those attributes flows through us, but we will inspire those qualities in each other and uplift the entire community. What if we all chose friendliness as a basis for communication?

How would that change the atmosphere?

Relate and Concentrate Mercurial Messages through the Zodiac

BY HEATHER ROAN ROBBINS THE SUN, VENUS AND MERCURY are all in Venus-ruled Libra as October begins, Mars enters Libra on October 3, and they call us to look at the dynamics of relationship. The symbol of Libra is a scale. When the weight of the two sides are balanced, it sits in perfect harmony. Libra talks about the nature of equals relating, whether in marriage, business, open warfare. This describes the essential qualities of social justice; we are not all the same but we are equivalent in our contribution and worth. Problems in both our relationships and in the legal fabric of our country come when this belief in equal worth is undermined.

Let’s do what we can this month to bring all our relationships and our culture back into balance.

That balance may be challenged as Pluto turns direct on October 3, and as Mercury and Venus enters Scorpio by the second week, and again mid-October as Mars quincunx Uranus, and Venus opposes Uranus. Personal and societal discontent push us. An idealism and cooperation returns as the sun enters Scorpio October 23.

Christine, tell us about the upcoming 3-Day Pleiadian Seminar.

This seminar is very profound, as I know from just working with it the other day and feeling the energy. The Pleiadians are going to be creating initiations that realign people back to their merkaba crystalline body frequency.

The Pleiadians say the merkaba is like a rotating light that carries the human body and births the spirit form within the body to a multidimensional plane of experience.

Our merkaba body is made up of a pure crystalline liquid light, and as it births or realigns to you, it naturally anchors through different areas of the body — with the sacrum, the spinal fluid, the brain stem, the pineal, and the heart. This is going to be a very powerful process, realigning people to their crystalline merkaba body.

At the same time, this process is designed to work within the brain-spine axis and central nervous system to enhance the brain’s functioning to prepare and realign people. As the merkaba body comes in, it activates the brain-spine axis and reopens areas of the brain that have not been activated in this lifetime. Whole new areas of the brain will be reopened. Will it enhance people’s ability to connect with the Universal community?

It absolutely will, because we will start to engage with the rest of the community. Since the energies that have activated on the 14th of August, planet Earth has been vibrating and pulsing at the same rate as the rest of the Universe. It’s like the heart beat that exists through the Universe.

Planet Earth has never resonated with that, and now our planet is fully resonating with the rest of the Universe.

It’s not only the Earth, but our own hearts now are carrying that frequency, that pulse.

This launches us out in connection with the rest of the Universal community, and the resonance there will be really profound because of the awakening of that crystalline merkaba body and the transformation of the brain-spine axis and the reopening of the areas of the brain that haven’t been utilized. It’s going to allow for a very pure and clear connection with the rest of our resident Universe. It feels very timely and very powerful.

As you birth into this reconnection to your multidimensional level, once the brain-spine axis is active and the nervous system is redefined energetically, you begin to open into another aspect of your sacred sixth sense, unveiling aspects of your Higher Self and aligning to a new perspective of truth. We have to live in alliance of that truth in our daily lives. This process will allow you to move and align to this deep truth and remembering process. This process is oh, so beautiful, and we’re ready for it! That’s the exciting part! The energies on the planet are able to hold us and allow us to move into this very new place within ourselves.

This reconnection to your merkaba body allows you, as an individual, to operate from a much higher, clearer space of light, and it moves you to realign within the higher realm consciousness of the God Light that is within us. This is going to be a very profound and exciting process that has never been anchored on the planet before.

It’s going to be anchored at the seminar for the first time, and I’m very excited to be part of that.

Why is it important for those who may not have ever attended one of your seminars to do so now?

This is a destiny call. Some people may never have engaged with any sort of seminar or spiritual practice, but this is about them and their heart. It’s the timing for their heart to come alive, the sacred heart to be birthed through them, and for them to come into that self-realization process. It doesn’t matter what they’ve done before or how much they’ve done before.

This process is very unique and something that will enrich them and move them to another level for themselves. It doesn’t matter about a mission in the world. Most of our mission is self-resurrection, and this process is specifically designed for rapid self-resurrection and a nurturing of our human part, too.

No one has to be into the spiritual and have done a lot of spiritual work. They don’t even have to believe in the Pleiadians themselves or the galactic community. It’s about them coming home to themselves within the heart. The merkaba body lifts the whole essence of the individual person’s being and allows them to move back into a place of reconnection to that higher part of themselves, no matter what their beliefs are.

As usual, the seminar also will involve the galactic community, the Lemurians, Jesus Christ and Mother Mary, the angels and the light beings. A huge contingent of light beings will be coming for this specific

event, because it’s our very first birthing of the merkaba crystalline frequency. I’ll use the word “reattached.” You’ll be reattached to your merkaba body, through the sacrum and then up through the spinal fluid, up to the brain stem, through the pineal, through the brain-spine axis up through the crown, and then lastly, the heart space,. We’ll be working with some beautiful, sacred patterns that the Pleiadians have just channeled through. I haven’t seen the energy like this before. It’s just very beautiful.

Tell us about the heart and the role it’s playing right now in personal transformation.

I think that’s important. Our heart actually is a multidimensional tool. It’s the doorway to the sacred part of ourselves, to the higher realm connection to the sacred that we are, to our unlimited Higher Self — that part of us that has been enlivened by all the changes that are on the planet. The veils have lifted, and the heart gives you direct access to the multidimensional part of yourself that is unlimited and allows you to create an abundance for yourself from the heart space.

It’s really the sacred part of yourself. Our heart space has transformed over the last few months so it bypasses the ego mind and those self-sabotaging cycles. The heart space will go through a rapid transformation with the alignment to the merkaba body. It’s really our pathway home to our light, to our purity, to our God Light.

You mentioned that the Earth is pulsing at the same rate as the rest of the Universe and that our hearts are resonating with that. What in someone’s everyday life might indicate that that shift has taken place? Do you have any sense of that?

Yes, I do. A lot of disorientation and maybe confusion within the mind is taking place right now as this transforms, because there is a split going on right now. We’re split between the human ego mind, which is totally third dimensional, and the transformation of our heart that is aligning now to the God Light, the God Consciousness Light within the Universe. Our hearts are expanding, so we’re kind of being moved out of time and space and feeling like there’s a disorientation going on in life. Things not working the way they used to and it feels like everything that has worked is starting to fall apart.

Everything that was part of a ritual of life is no longer working. That’s because the energies of light around the heart are evolving and old patterns and old belief systems and old habits are falling away, but there’s nothing yet to replace that, so there’s an empty space where you don’t know what’s going on and you don’t know which way to possibly go. Nothing’s clear, even for people who have very good guidance, usually.

There’s a lot of needing to trust as we go through this evolutionary change because there is a new electrical system in our hearts also, and there’s a new electrical system birthing through the brain. Everything feels unfamiliar and very intense, and, of course, the world is reflecting that. The drama in the third-dimensional world

has accelerated and will continue to accelerate until the New Year, because the energy is going to accelerate. Our pulse that has aligned us to the rest of the Universe is going to get stronger.

It’s drawing us somewhere, and yet we don’t quite know what that means, but we are being drawn out of where we used to be in our cycles and routines. Nothing will act the same way as we’re familiar with in the past.

So, there’s a lot of upheaval and uncertainty taking place right now. I’m being told the merkaba body is an anchor and it is going to support and stabilize people. What they’re saying is that the energy of this is a transformation, and it’s like we’ll go through a collective awakening, through a powerful new component of light that is going to infiltrate Earth on another level. That pulsing will become more intense, bringing those of us on the path into a new vision of understanding of this time. A collective consciousness will open up between those of us who are allowing this change, who are on the path and who are awake, and it will create a collective energetic flow that will realign those of us on the path into more of a community-minded base.

Our hearts will go through the transmutation and come out the other side into an understanding and a remembering of what that flow is and who we are in that flow, and who we are within the resident Universe. This will happen as the brain-spine axis opens and expands and creates that sacred part of ourselves that remembers who we are and the design of our self within the resident Universe. We’ll take our places much more easily and recognize ourselves being received on a very different level.

As a result of these changes, will we go from believing we’re spiritual beings having a human experience to knowing it deeply within?

That’s exactly right. That’s a very good way of putting this, because there will be the direct experience and remembering. I experienced that when I had my awakening with the Pleiadians nearly 30 years ago, where I had the total recognition of myself — and that never left. Once it anchors through you then it’s a truth, and then you live from that truth. The merkaba stabilizes you and allows you to move and align naturally back to your reconnections, your sacred reconnections with the resident Universe, with the Higher Realms. We’re talking about not only the galactic, Universal community but also the angelic realms and the Masters and the light beings. They’re all part of that God Consciousness state. They play a very big role within our resident Universe and everyone within that resident Universe apart from us on Earth is consciously interacting with those spiritual beings. They play a very important role within the full Universal community.

What will happen is that as the merkaba body anchors, it will allow the individual to stabilize those connections and to more fully engage within those connections. Creativity: God’s Gift to Us

BY SRI HAROLD KLEMP AN INTERESTING THING those of you past the age of forty have likely noticed is that life becomes more challenging as each decade passes. It gets to be more fun. Oh, it’s a lot of fun. You’re scrambling every minute, trying to figure out what’s next.

And it’s not because of forgetting; it’s just because there are a lot more things to do.

Those of you who are under fifty and don’t believe it, just wait.

Whenever you run into a situation, you think, Okay, this is a brand-new one.

Sometimes the body plays tricks on you, and you don’t know what’s going on. You try to figure your way through it, and you wonder, How am I going to make it this time? Sometimes they’re just little things, annoying things, easy to get irritated about.

But along comes the next bigger one. At that point, there’s no irritation, just scrambling wide open, trying to accept what the ECK, or Holy Spirit, is trying to teach us, trying to show us.

Because there’s a lesson in every single experience.

We like our lives to go easy. We want them to go smoothly. And when they do, it’s interesting — our creativity often goes to sleep. But when things get hard, then we become awake. And the harder they get, if we’re at all spiritual, the more creative we become.

What keeps people from being creative is the old bugaboo, attachment. That means having a real fondness for some way of doing things or perceiving a thing.

So we go to sleep. But then when things get really hard, we wake up. And we ask, Now what? What do I do now? What’s the lesson? Where’s the open doorway?

That’s not a bad thing. It’s a good thing, because it evokes the spirit of creativity we have when at our best. Finding Joy Beneath our Human Skins

You may have ideas about how to find me based on what you’ve learned from movies, books or spiritual teachings. But unlike what you may have learned, I am not a simple emotion that can be manifested and discarded at will. Rather, I am a cultivated emotion, grown in the soil of steady and mindful efforts and intentions.” — JOY

THE PARAGRAPH ABOVE, from my upcoming memoir, is a “letter” written to me by none other than Joy herself (who enters my book — and my life — wearing a pink frock and a frilly hat!). Note that all of my prominent emotions exist in my upcoming memoir in their embodied (in-bodied) form. The reason was this: I spent so many years tamping them down inside me, it was time to let them take up some space and explain their points of view!

Joy’s message came at a time in my life when, having believed that I had followed the promised paths and done the required work to have earned its lasting presence in my life, joy was still nowhere to be found. I took joy’s continued absence as a personal rejection. Wounded and hurt, I pulled further from society and its false promises.

This doesn’t mean I had no happiness in my life during this transitional time; I very much did. But whereas happiness is a transient feeling dependent on arbitrary criteria, joy is a sustained state of mind, unfixed to any external circumstances.

I did not have that. At the time, my potential for joy was tangled up in who I thought I was, who I had been, who I thought I was going to be — and the cold truth that none of that had actually done the trick.

Not permanently. Not consistently. Joy continued to be elusive, setting me up for the midlife disappointment that befalls many of us.

In our society, we are taught early that joy is something to be earned through our human skins — a metaphor I use to refer to the labels, roles, titles and rela-

tionships that we wear throughout our lifetime. This false belief is implanted in us from the time we are children, when we are repeatedly asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Underneath this innocent question is the implied meaning: You must make something of yourself in this world to be deserving of good things. As we become adults, the question changes to “What do you do for a living?” but the implication of status-dependent worth lingers.

Whether we believe we earn joy through professional accomplishment and status, or, in the spiritual community, believe we will find joy through our conscious detachment of these very things, the working belief is the same: humans must earn joy by following rules and making the “right” choices. Perhaps for some people this approach works. But what if your life, like mine, is less a path to a destination and more circular in nature?

What if you — like me, like a snake — choose to move through this life, skin by skin, on the mere pleasure of seeing life through various vantage points? Don’t we, the shapeshifters, also deserve joy?

I can’t point to exactly when the insight came in my life, but I suddenly realized that the joy I longed for could never be found through any single human skin.

They do and can provide things such as accomplishment, pride, knowledge and relationships. But joy, like she says herself in her letter, is “not a simple emotion” and does not necessarily arrive alongside the certificate, the marriage, the promotion.

Once I grew my understanding about the nature of joy, it was easy to open myself up to experience it. For me, the “steady and mindful efforts and intentions” I had to invest in did not involve another skin, another role, another journey. Rather, I had to go inward and see who I was without any human skins at all. And there, in the nakedness of my own self, I ultimately found my joy. a KERI MANGIS has studied and/or taught yoga, Ayurveda, herbal medicine, energy work, aromatherapy, Buddhism, Hinduism, Tantra, Christianity, and other spiritual teachings and healing modalities that have sparked her endless curiosity. Focus Inward to Live a Joyful Life

I USED TO BE a competitive athlete, stuck on an endless quest for more strength, speed and endurance. Training and racing ruled my life. I hired a coach and had a rigid training schedule. At the height of my addiction, I devoted about fifteen hours a week to it — on top of my full-time private practice. And, those fifteen hours were not a restful stroll in the park.

It was grueling, hard-core work that often left me exhausted, too tired to really enjoy much of anything.

Everything I did was focused on improving performance and increasing my chances of winning. I thought about training and racing all the time. My life revolved around it. In truth, it was my life. I would only commit to social activities if they happened to fit my schedule. Even then, I found myself thinking and talking about my sports.

My happiness and joy in life were based on my performance. It affected my sense of selfworth and personal value. Get a personal best or win a race and I could be happy. But the joy would be short-lived. The next race was always right around the corner. Deep, lingering disappointment would come with a loss. I couldn’t just enjoy the experience. I had to be a winner.

Failing to win was more than just failing to win, it meant I was a loser. And, nobody loves a loser.

My children saved me. By the time my second child came along, it was abundantly clear that I could no longer keep on doing what I was doing and be an engaged parent.

Something had to give. I quit racing. And, in hindsight, it was one of the best things that could have happened to me. It allowed me to gain my freedom and find my Self. I’ve gradually come to realize two incredibly important things — realizations that have changed everything.

The first is that how I feel and how I am are two different things. The second is that I am joyful — always. Joy describes the real me, my true Self.

The beauty and power of this is that I can always be happy and joyful. I don’t need anything but my Self. I don’t always feel joyful.

Sometimes I feel angry, sad or scared. But deep down on the inside where it matters most, I am joyful. This never changes. I can stop and reconnect with that source of joy at any moment because joy is what I am. All I need to do is turn my awareness inward and focus on my true Self. I have never found that I am anything but happy, content and joyful. I expect the same will be true for you.

Back when I was in college, a professor told the class that you can only do one thing at a time. What I think she meant was that you can only think about, or focus on, one thing at a time. When your awareness is focused on any one thing, everything else is put on hold or forgotten.

We live in a very busy, distracting world — and most of us have minds that never shut up.

I don’t know about you, but my head is a very noisy place. Many of my thoughts are anything but joyful. When my focus is on the world around me or on my thoughts, I lose touch with my Self and start feeling terrible things fueled by my judgmental ego.

To be happy and joyful requires putting your focus in the right place. If you look for happiness and joy outside of your Self, you probably won’t find it. It’s not out there. Joy lives inside of you. That’s where you need to look.

Stop everything. Sit in a quiet, comfortable place. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply, slowly and rhythmically, focusing your attention on your chest and belly. Let yourself relax and get centered. When you’re ready, ask your Self this yes-or-no question: “Am I joyful?” Let yourself know the truth. Do this daily and carry your inner joy with you everywhere. a DR. radio that’s being tuned fully and aligned back to that full reconnection. The dial gets turned and then you’re aligned fully to that connection. That’s where the brain-spine axis is opening to truth and remembering. You start living from that space of truth and feel the alignment and vastness of the love that is your natural makeup. We return to that place in ourselves.

It doesn’t mean we don’t still have our human element. We are always trying to be here having the human experience. The only thing is we’ll become spiritual beings transforming the human part of ourselves with love and compassion and self-acceptance so that the human part doesn’t suffer as much with the fear and the struggle. Instead, it is gathered in and really nurtured in that love. So, it’s about a self-acceptance of our humanness on another level from the sacred that we are.

Regarding the energy of that really beautiful merkaba energy that we all are returning to — now is the time. It surprised me, really, because I didn’t think we were ready for it. We’ve got this huge shift that started the 14th of August and ended on the 14th of September, and then it accelerates further into December and the New Year. This huge awakening taking place on the 14th of September is just six weeks before the seminar, which makes it absolutely possible for this merkaba body to be reconnected to those of us who are ready.

Is there a final message you or the Pleiadians would like to share with our readers?

The most important thing right now is to understand that everything you need is within you — and the saying, “You are who you have been waiting for,” for there is nothing more than that. There is nothing more than yourself. Your heart is the very center of the Universe, and it’s through your heart that you can receive; all your needs will be met.

It’s about letting go and trusting the heart and allowing yourself to take the next step within the vastness of your own heart. That’s really their message. Don’t get distracted. They are really focusing on us not to get distracted by the third-dimensional drama. Stay stable within your heart. One moment in your heart will shift all the cells in your body, changing and breaking the old cycles within you. a
