October horoscope: Break old patterns Star Wisdom

Mercury retrograde and eclipses in Aries and Scorpio unleash tremendous power that we can use to break old patterns and rejuvenate our lives.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…This is one of those moments where you either step into who you really are or let the rejections and disappointments of the past swallow you up. Fortunately, you see with astute clarity that there’s nobody to blame for what’s already happened; we each create the Universe we believe in. This insight empowers you to take back your authority and transform a key relationship with love.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…Part of you believes that if you just work harder, then the other people in your life will finally give you what you need. You work hard enough. What you need to understand is that the old anger and fear you’re so afraid of seeing in yourself must, by nature, be reflected back to you in relationships. Ribs are a flavorfuL cut of meat with plenty of healthy, satisfying fat.

Although you can bake them, I find the slow cooker to be more convenient. Ribs are not inexpensive, but when you figure you can get up to 10 servings from this delicious recipe, the cost per meal is very reasonable.

Ingredients 6 cloves garlic, minced 2 tsp. ground black pepper

1 tsp. sea salt 12 grass-fed beef short ribs 2 TBS coconut oil 6 carrots, chopped 6 celery ribs, chopped 1 yellow onion, chopped 3 turnips, peeled and chopped 2 bay leaves 2 cups red wine 2 cups beef stock

Directions 1. Turn the slow cooker on high.

2. Stir minced garlic, ground pepper and sea salt together. Then season the beef short ribs with the garlic, salt and pepper mixture.

3. Heat coconut oil in a cast iron or stainless steel skillet. Sear seasoned ribs approximately one or two minutes on each side.

4. Transfer the seared ribs to the slow cooker and add carrots, celery, onion, turnips, bay leaves, red wine and beef stock.

5. Cook the ribs and vegetables on high for approximately 5 hours, or low for approximately 8 hours. The ribs are done when they fall off the bone and are very tender. Serves 8-10. Past life regression to BodySound chairs: Support for awakening

Christopher As human beings, we are in an unprecedented time of awakening and growth — computers, cell phones, weaponry, you name it, with new inventions obsolete at an increasingly faster pace as we awaken to more advanced ideas and technology. This exponential growth also is apparent in the realm of consciousness, as a significant number of people are beginning to awaken from the sleeplike trance of the ego-identified state of being, and into a natural, transcendent and permanent part of their selves that is not governed by fear and separation.

For most of us, this process comes in stages like a slow progression, but on rare occasions such as with Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie, the jump from inner turmoil to freedom can happen quite spontaneously and intensely. For those who aspire to awaken to what they already are, certain tools can assist to realize more fully their true selves that lie beneath the surface of the fears and the illusions of separation that helps create this human experience.

What obscures the connection with our natural free being? It is our identification with the steady stream of the mind — our subtle thoughts and beliefs, both conscious and subconscious. Identification with our mind is normal, of course, but it is also the reason behind 100 percent of our suffering, according to the Buddha. Most of us do not realize that there is an aspect of us that is free from this thinking mind.

However, when we finally do, it feels noticeably “more awake” because it can observe this chatterbox mind.

As the mind quiets through various practices like meditation and others mentioned below, there can be an increasing awareness of limiting subconscious thoughts and beliefs. As a result, a subtle gulf gets created between “you” and this thinking mind. This

slight, elusive shift marks the beginning step in the journey from bondage to liberation.

Who or what is this constant observer that can notice changing moods and thoughts whether at 5 or 85 years of age?

Who or what am I? This is the “self-inquiry” question that sages encourage us to ask, because, if you seriously inquire, it will stop the thinking mind — because there is no answer that the thinking mind can comprehend. What’s left is pure unfiltered presence/awareness…a dimension of our being that is firmly rooted in the eternal present moment. Like a movie screen that holds ever-changing images, this same presence/awareness is a backdrop for the ceaseless flow of content from our minds.

You can find many awakened sages on Youtube these days. One of them is Leonard Jacobson, sage and author of Journey Into Now. “We live our lives according to our unconscious beliefs,” says Jacobson. We can’t let go of the beliefs that limit us until we become aware of them. If you want to find a false belief that limits you, you can usually find one under a negative emotion that you’re trying to avoid. Adyashanti, another sage and teacher, suggests that a primary spiritual practice could be to allow whatever has been long repressed and denied within ourselves to be finally seen and felt in the light of our full consciousness. Then, he says, the energy can release from your body/mind system and be integrated into the fullness of your being.

Manifesting Your Brilliance

A conversation with Robert Ibrahim Jaffe, M.D. on spiritual healing, the future of medicine and peace

Robert Ibrahim Jaffe, M.D., has dedicated his life to healing and teaching.

After many years of traveling and studying healing arts around the world, Dr. Jaffe has discovered the deepest and most profound healing system in the practice of Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam that at its essence belongs to no one religion. It is the Truth, and it leads people to Truth through love and devotion.

During his training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Jaffe witnessed miraculous healings that occurred after doctors exhausted all of their options.

He realized there were secrets to healing beyond the understanding of Western medicine. He traveled worldwide and studied with healers, spiritual masters and shamans — and eventually he discovered Sufi healing.

In June 2000, he founded what is now known as the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism in Napa County, California, to bring his comprehensive synthesis of medical, energetic and spiritual healing to professionals and lay people who want to heal in a complete and holy way by deepening their understanding of why people become sick and what can be done to resolve their illness.

He will return to the Twin Cities on October 24-26 to present a soul-focused workshop entitled, “Manifesting Your Brilliance.” He spoke with The Edge by phone from his office in California about his upcoming event, Sufi healing and much more.

You’ll be returning to the Twin Cities to present “Manifesting Your Brilliance.” What makes your event different from other transformational gatherings?

Dr. Robert Ibrahim Jaffe: That’s a good ques-

tion. At the core, the question is: Where is an event taking people to? My events are directed towards sitting in the presence of God and allowing the transformation to happen within God’s presence. So in the first piece, it is a direct experiential relationship to God and the 99 names of God and how that transforms a person at the soul level.

It’s extremely transformative — and it’s also different in that we’re not working with more external things, even things like consciousness. We’re working directly with the Divine Light of Self.

What can participants expect to experience?

RIJ: My work is very soul-related, and I’m

the more blessings we build up, the more we spiritually evolve. We’re doing what God wants us to do. The doors open and we spiritually evolve and we move towards the state of unity with Divinity, which is really our full reason for being here anyway. We’re all here to reach that. That’s what we’re here doing.

So, when people leave the 2-day event, they have an action plan on how to expand and develop the gift that they’ve uncovered for themselves?

RIJ: Local healers in the Minneapolis area

working with soul healing and soul transformation through the Divine Light to the Divine Names. Each soul has something brilliant that God has put within it. That’s been my experience across the board. Even people who intellectually might be stunted at some level, inside of them there’s something incredible.

Most of the world is based on I.Q. and we don’t really look at the core nature of the person. The brilliance workshop helps us to find your core nature. What is your brilliance? Is it creativity? Is it music? Is it knowledge? Is it spirituality? Is it healing?

This process pulls it out of the soul.

Once we find out what your brilliance is, then we say, “What does God want you to do with it? What’s your Divine purpose?

What have you really been put here for?”

Every person is a thread in a tapestry of this creation. Your brilliance is programmed within you, and we bring that out.

Of course, most people experience their divine purpose through passion. When you’re in your soul connection, you have incredible passion for life. When you’re doing what’s not right for you, you’re bored.

So when you find that core soul purpose and you start to bring it out, now you have a really powerful way of living life. And not only do you have the power of living life, but you also have your spiritual blessings or baraka, because you’re doing what you’re meant to be doing, not what you’re not supposed to be doing.

By doing your Divine purpose, you actually increase your spiritual baraka or grace.

The more baraka we build up in our life,

will do some ongoing work (with participants), and I’ll be videoconferencing, as well. That will continue for about seven or eight weeks. After that, we will work with the people to really integrate each of the qualities that we work with.

The way the weekend will work is that I’ll present this information and teach people how to get to their Divine purpose. That’s an unfolding process, then we’ll look at the 99 qualities of God. For example, there is a quality called Al-Khabir, which means vastness or bigness. If God sends this quality, it opens people to much larger creation.

We’re afraid, for whatever reasons; we have beliefs and images and blockages that keep us limited. Al-Khabir opens it by literally sending the light of bigness into the person — and that transmission has to occur and it will.

The other side of it is: What’s in the way?

What has to be purified out? What are the places inside of ourself where we are afraid?

Did we get hurt by our father or mother?

Maybe we were trying to do well in school, but we only got a B on our report card. Our parents got mad at us so we’re afraid, and we’re not believing in ourselves anymore.

How do we clear those things in ourself so Khabir can manifest itself through each person?

A lot of people go to events and enjoy being the energy, but they don’t always follow through afterwards. I think it’s great if people can receive the support that you’ve giving them afterward to continue the process.

RIJ: We said this exactly. People come in,

they sit in it, they go home and they forget about it. I think that’s classic spirituality in the West.

When I designed the university, I read an article Ram Dass had written back in the 1970s about bringing teachings back from India, and he found exactly what we’re talking about. So what he did was create a series of gatherings multiple times in the year that helped you to not lose the inspi-

ration to continue practicing.

That’s the same principle I’m working with. I call it pulsing.

How do we pulse it enough that they don’t lose the stream?

When we’re uplifting ourselves, it is important to make sure that the body maintains the higher frequency, instead of putting up new blocks and going back to where we were.

RIJ: Exactly. I used to kite

surf and when I was learning kite surfing in Maui, which is one of the best places in the world to kite surf, I was just getting battered out there. I was learning. I was on the kite surf beach and the waves were coming in and they were just knocking me all over. By the time I would get done each day, part of me was better at kite surfing, but part of me was actually more scared.

Later I learned in this little bay where it was like 3- to 4-feet deep. I could stand up, there was much less wind, and within an hour I was standing up, and within two hours I was surfing beautifully. But I had spent a week in Maui and I had trouble still getting up.

As the founder of what is now known as the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism, what fundamental transformation does the school offer its students and what changes have you witnessed in people who have gone through the program?

RIJ: The university meets three times a year for eight days, and then there are teleconferences or video classes in between those sessions.

The goal of the university has three pillars to it. The first pillar is walking people towards their Divine nature, towards, God, and Sufism. Sufi means to purify or to annihilate, so one purifies out the illusions, the negative emotional states, the beliefs, whatever blocks them from receiving the Divine light and the Divine love, and then as those purifications happen they go deeper.

In the Sufi school, we have found a little of what we’ve said about traditional Western spirituality, that we’re not going deep enough. Students begin to walk, but then they hit fear or some sort of belief or blockage — and then aren’t able to go further and they drop out. So the university has been designed to not allow that to happen.

We’re holding the people very deeply, and when they hit the blockages, which are very deep in the unconscious, they are held by their group and by their teachers very consciously and they walk through those hidden places that have limited them their whole lives.

The results of that are that the people move very quickly through the program and the spiritual experience. From what people in the programs Brilliance continued on page 12 

 Brilliance continued from page 11 are telling us, they have reached a level of growth more within one year than they may have reached within 20 or 30 years previously. They’re spiritually moving very quickly.

The second pillar is the purification work itself. How do we really transform light or issues?

In the purification work, we are working very, very deeply within the heart to find the core issues that are behind everything. For example, let’s say that somebody comes in with cancer. A lot of people come through our program with diseases. In traditional work they might say, “What’s the cause of the cancer?” And the person would get to issues of, let’s say, breast cancer, so they’d address not feeling loved.

The first level, of course, would be to process through the issue of not feeling loved. But if you go deeper into the soul levels, the reason they may not be feeling loved is actually because there is some hidden element in their being where they are choosing power over love. So, what we say is that you’re choosing to try to manifest something like Al-Qawi, the quality of divine power, versus Al-Wadud, the quality of Divine love. So, when we understand that it’s really a misunderstanding of the soul nature and the qualities it is taking on, then we go into what’s really the teaching for this soul.

The teaching is to purify the need for power and to surrender to the need for love. And, when they understand that and actually shift that, then it’s unbelievable the shift that happens. It trickles down, and the outside changes very, very quickly.

In this last workshop I did in Sedona, after four days a woman’s tumor totally changed and regressed significantly. Even after the second day it had regressed significantly.

And then there’s a third pillar?

RIJ: The third pillar is actions, what I call

right action or Divine actions. There are significantly prescribed actions that Divinity wants from us. For example, if an old lady is crossing the street and we help her across, there is a blessing for that and we feel good in our hearts because we did the right thing. If we don’t help her across the street, ignore her or get in the way or push her or something, there is actually a non-blessing for that and we feel bad about ourselves.

You could say that there’s a negative baraka, a negative blessing.

These things are like gravity. They’re not in our command. When we know which actions bring baraka and we follow those actions, we build up spiritual grace, and the whole process moves forward much more quickly. By the same token, we learn what not to do. For example, we learn that gossiping is a negative baraka. If you

gossip or you put people down or you speak behind their backs, those are very powerful, negative barakas. If we do those things, we break our grace and we actually have to work at alleviating what we’ve done — and we slow our whole process down.

Needless to say, the whole program is transformational if you commit to it.

RIJ: The core of everything we do comes

back to that. There is a saying, “There’s no God but the One.” It’s knowing that all life is about an expression of Divinity and the return of the being back to that oneness with it. Everything we’re doing is about that return. How do we help a person literally get out of their own way so that they can experience the beauty of what’s possible?

What essential truth have you learned about illness and healing in your experience as a medical doctor and a student of Sufism?

RIJ: Healing is very simple and illness is very

simple. Illness, in my experience, is always sent as a teaching — and if you get the teaching, usually the illness goes away. The key is working out why the illness is there, and the teachings are at the deepest level — the teachings of the self: the ego-self, and what it’s learning, the heart, and what it’s learning, the mind, and what it’s learning, and ultimately of the soul.

If we can get those four teachings and the person can learn them, I’ve seen stage 4 cancer regress multiple times with this work.

Why? Because people have understood why the disease was sent.

Many of us realize that our physical and emotional issues can perpetually sabotage our happiness. Dr. Jaffe will work with individuals to uncover hidden resistance, as well as to strengthen positive qualities. For years he has worked with individuals on levels from the physical to the emotional and beyond, and he is widely recognized for his insightful and powerful ability to work within the realm of the individual soul.

So, what are the teachings? The selfteachings are essentially what we should not be doing that we are doing, such as gossiping. If we are gossiping heavily and hurting people, that can create problems with the throat. The heart teachings are the emotional states that we should have, which should be peace and love. If they’re anger and fear and resentment and bitterness, that will lead to negative states within the body. The soul teachings are essentially about the qualities of human existence.

Let’s look at breast cancer. It’s about receiving the milk of love from Divinity and being able to give that milk to others. It’s both a receiving and a giving. If we block the receiving, we can get cancer. If we don’t give the milk, we can get cancer. But why would a person block or receive the giving of milk?

Well, that becomes the real question — and that’s where the healing is.

A woman I know who had breast cancer, found out that she blocked it because she was angry for not getting what she wanted, so she started to withhold love from others.

Once she understood that, she started giving the love. She surrendered. She bowed down to God and said, “My Lord, I’m so sorry. I’ve been selfish. I’ve been angry. I’ve separated myself and now I prostrate myself to You and I open my heart and I’m going to give the love.” In six weeks, the stage 4 cancer disappeared. Surgeons went in for a double mastectomy, took off the breasts, both of them, and when they went in for the pathology there was no cancer. The cancer had completed disappeared.

So the key piece is getting those teachings.

What is your perception of health care as it is now practiced in this country?

RIJ: From an outside level, we’re further

along than we’ve ever been as physicians.

The use of technology and the logarithms they’re using for medical care are the best it’s ever been. Medical care has taken quantum leaps in the last 20 years. From the inside level, we’re just starting to understand the real causes of diseases and people are just beginning to be open to them.

We’re seeing that with alternative medicine coming online and growing and people are starting to open to food and herbs. I go into Whole Foods and I see people there who, 15 years ago, would never have walked around in the Whole Foods. The consciousness is changing towards foods and herbs.

But the real teaching, which is the spiritual nature, is just starting. It’s just dawning in the West. We’re just beginning to understand that disease is not just coming for no reason, which is what allopathic medicine says. We don’t even know why it comes.

Food or bad food? That’s what alternative medicine is saying frequently. We are what we eat, which is true without question, but there’s always that inner spiritual side that we have to address simultaneously.

That’s the next big vista for medicine.

Since 9/11, the religion of Islam has been tarnished by fundamentalists who use war as a means to advance their beliefs. How do followers of Sufism perceive what is taking place globally, not only in the war areas, but in America where Islam is being condemned by some people?

RIJ: That’s a very good question. The teach-

ings of Islamic fundamentalism have made the front pages and, first of all, it’s unfortunate, because it’s a very, very small part of Islam that is fundamentalist. Maybe half a percent, or less. It’s unfortunate that sometimes the people who shout the loudest are

the ones that are heard, you know?

If you go to the Middle East, where I’ve spent time, there are tremendously beautiful people over there. I have met them, and I’ve had my heart in tears because there’s been so much beauty from these people.

In the real teachings of Islam and Sufism, it’s been very clear that you would never hurt an innocent person and you would never attack innocent people. These are absolutely non-Islamic teachings.

That’s why I say yes, you are to stand up to oppression, if oppression occurs, or evil if it comes into your house. You’re supposed to stand up to it, but you don’t stand up to it by blowing up a bunch of innocent people. That doesn’t do anything except scare people, which is what they’re trying to do.

The teachings of Sufism are about love.

You do stand up to oppression, but you stand up to it through love, through peace, through understanding, through honor, through nobility — and you never hurt somebody. Absolutely never hurt somebody. What we’re seeing now is not, in my opinion, revealing the face of Sufism, and I don’t believe it is revealing the true face of Islam itself.

Tell me about your experience with the Sufi community in the Twin Cities.

RIJ: I love the Sufi community in the Twin

Cities. First of all, the Twin Cities is what I call a place of goodness in the U.S. It’s a place that somehow has maintained goodness within all the struggle. We have multiple Sufi communities, and I have found that Minneapolis and Austin have maintained it the most. There is just a natural light up there, which I love, and the Sufi community there reflects it.

It is a very honest, very open, very bright group of people who are deeply in service to the people. They want to seek goodness, they want to seek change, but they’re doing it from a place of love and respect and honor — and I think it’s a great group

up there. I deeply value and respect that community.

Is there anything that you’d like to share with our readers that we haven’t talked about?

RIJ: I think I want to emphasize that every-

body is suffering deep down. Today, there’s a sense of being lost, not having guidance, not knowing what’s right, and just a general sense of stuckness that’s happening in the West right now. The answer I’m personally bringing forward is if we can open to these 99 names of God and open to having this direct connection in our hearts — and surrender, not just a connection, but a surrendering guidance — then this will break through those stuck places that we’re all experiencing. Then the flowers will grow again.

I don’t know if you were watching TV a few weeks ago, but there was a big fire in California. My home was right at the epicenter of that. It went right through my home, and believe it or not, my home survived it. So I’m sitting now in Napa Valley and everything I’m looking at is burned black: the black trees, black ground. There is nothing but blackness everywhere from the burn.

And yet, all of a sudden out of nowhere, you can’t believe it, there are these little sprouts of green. The trees are sending up roots again, and these little flowers are starting to show up. It’s like this whole new creation is happening, out of nothing.

For me, that’s what Sufism does with this sort of barrenness and this blackness that we have fallen into, because we’re living from our own beings, rather than living from a higher purpose. That’s what I think we can bring people and we should be bringing to people. a

The marriage of science, spirituality and the real world

During the late 1980s, I had a front row seat to one of the most frightening times in the history of the world — the last years of the Cold War — as well as the desperate thinking about how it would be won. I was employed at the time in the defense industry, working as a senior computer systems designer while the super powers of the United States and the former Soviet Union developed a war strategy that seemed unthinkable to any rationally minded person today.

They spent the time, energy and human resources to develop and stockpile approximately 65,000 nuclear weapons. The combined power of this global arsenal was enough to microwave the Earth, and everything on it, many times over.

The rationale for such an extreme effort stems from a way of thinking that has dominated much of the modern world for the last 300 years or so, since the beginning of the scientific era. It’s based in the false assumptions of scientific thinking that suggest we’re somehow separate from the Earth, separate from one another, and that Nature is based upon competition, conflict and a relentless struggle that favors the survival of the strongest.

Fortunately, new discoveries in the fields of genetics, biology, physics and archaeology have revealed that each of these assumptions is absolutely false.

Unfortunately, however, there is a reluctance to reflect such new discoveries in mainstream media, traditional classrooms and conventional textbooks. In other words, we’re still teaching our young people the false assumptions of an obsolete way of thinking, and we’re still trying to solve our problems based in ideas of violent competition and conflict.

While we no longer face the nuclear threat that we did in the 1980s, the thinking that made the Cold War possible is still in place. This fact is vital to us all right now for one simple reason: For the first time in human history, the future of our entire species rests upon the choices of a single generation — us — and the choices are being made within a small window of time — now.

The best minds of our time are telling us that we must act quickly to avert the clear and present danger of a host of crises that

are converging in a “bottleneck” of the early 21st century, including climate change, shrinking supplies of vital resources and the growing disparity between poverty and wealth. The key here is that the way we solve our problems is based in the way we think of ourselves and the world. From climate change and social change, to peak oil and peak debt, clearly the thinking that led to the war and suffering of the 20th century is not the thinking that we want the delicate choices of our survival based upon!

Developing a new level of thinking is precisely what we need to do today, and the magnitude of crises that face us may prove to be the catalyst for doing just that! The emerging bridge between the sciences that tells us how the universe works, and the spiritual traditions of our past that give such knowledge meaning in our lives, plays a vital role in the new thinking that heads off the darkest possibilities of our future. But while the crises of the moment may be the catalyst for such a shift in thinking, something even deeper is emerging.

The new shift in thinking is the gateway to human transformation. And because of the sheer number of people involved in the shift, and the growing magnitude of the crises that are driving us to change the way we think, we are standing on the threshold of human transformation at a level unlike anything ever before known on Earth.

The spiritual traditions that I’m describing are the core principles of ancient and time-tested understandings — principles now confirmed by 20th century science that include the interconnected nature of all things, the power of the human heart to positively influence the magnetic fields of the earth and all life, and the cyclic nature of life, climate, civilization and change.

The spiritual traditions of our ancestors got these principles right and embodied them

at the core of their lives in their time. It’s the marriage of these holistic principles with the best science of today that helps us to tip the scales of life, balance and peace in our favor, in ours.

While the specifics of spiritual principles may vary from tradition to tradition, the essence of their message does not. It’s simple, direct and states that we live in a world where everything has meaning, and is meaningful to everything else. What happens in the oceans has meaning for the climate of the mountains. What happens in a river has meaning for the life that depends upon the river. The choices that you and I make as we express our beliefs in our living rooms and around family dinner tables have meaning for the people in our immediate lives, as well as for those connected through the fields of the human heart coherence living halfway around the Earth.

By crossing the traditional boundaries that define the science, religion and the history of our past, we are shown the power of a larger, integrated, and holistic worldview. I cannot help but believe that our destiny and fate as a species are intimately entwined with our willingness to accept the Deep Wisdom of a spiritually based science.

It’s all about the way we think of ourselves, our relationship to the Earth and to one another. Cedric Red Feather: Yes, I believe it is to

represent multiculturalism. Being a Native American, and Janet being Jewish from Philadelphia — and her singing, in Lakota, Mandan, French, Latin, Hebrew, Greek and Farsi, all the languages she sings in — adds so much to incorporate so many cultures of people.

What do you plan to share with visitors to the Expo this year?

Cedric: One of the things I am doing right

now is about fulfilling prophecies. One of the prophecies of many indigenous peoples of North America talks about this time of the two brothers. The prophet said of this one brother, “I will divide up the land and I will give it to all the people. And the people will have land. They can have farms.” And he said, “I will take all of the animals, and I will tame them. They can have sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and they won’t have to want.

 Red Feather continued from page 15 They’ll have animals, all tamed, and they’ll have gardens and planted crops. They will all be prosperous and happy.”

The other brother said, “All the land will be free, and all the animals will be wild.

If you’re a good hunter, you can gather berries, pick up turnips and dig roots and fish - and you’ll never want. You’ll always be happy.”

The Prophet said that in time, the people of the first brother got bigger and bigger and bigger, and the farms got smaller and smaller and smaller. The animals got diseases and many things happened to them. There were only a few very wealthy land owners, and the rest were not.

“In time,” he said, “these people will go to their brother where the land was free and animals wild. And when that time comes, things will change with you people here.”

And the Prophet said, “As time moves across the hand” — and he made a motion for 100 years, and he said, “your religion, your spirituality and your ceremonies will be taken away from you.” He said, “Watch for the seven brothers in the sky, and they’ll come back to you.” He said, “They’re going to call them new people, but they’re not new — they’re old.”

Today this is the metaphysical people, the people who read your magazine. He said, “The last ones to join them will be the Native Americans. When the Native Americans join them, they will all become the fulfillment (of the prophecy).” That’s what we’re going through now.

Tell me about your connection with Cedric, Janet.

Janet Red Feather: Listening to all of this,

I was thinking about when I met Cedric.

We met in 1993 and got together in 1994.

What I adore about him is that he speaks with enthusiasm about all of his pursuits. He is excited that he is fulfilling his purpose.

He doesn’t think he is more special or more important than anyone else. He has helped many, many people behind the scenes without payment or recognition.

The key thing I have learned from him is that every single one of us has a purpose.

And that’s where I fit into this expo talk we are giving.

When I first met him, he always asked me, “Do you know your purpose in life?”

I’d say, “Yeah, it’s to be happy.”

He’d say, “No, that’s not it. Come back in three weeks.”

He kept doing this over the course of several years, and sometimes I’d get so frustrated and I’d cry, “Oh, this is so pathetic. I don’t know my purpose in life.” Finally one day, 10 years later, he said, “Ok, do you want to know?”

I said, “Of course, I do.”

He said, “It’s to sing the songs.”

So that’s been my title since the Okipa — Ceremonial Singer. I love music, I love songs, and I love languages. So I learned more than 60 songs in Mandan and Lakota, and one in Hidatsa. At these presentations, usually I choose songs from nine different languages, but I do a sampling of five.

What do you want people to experience when you are singing these songs?

Janet: Sound has become very important.

You mentioned heightened telepathy between you and your wife. I’m experiencing the shift, and I know many other people are in terms of heightened senses, in general.

Sound is healing. It affects all parts of our being. When we sing these songs, the spirits recognize them and they are drawn to them.

So I want participants of the expo to feel the presence of all the beneficent spirits that are around us, supporting us.

The people of this land, as Cedric has taught me, were native, so the spirits here are native. I have Native American spirit helpers, as do many other people.

Also, at the expo I am going to introduce my new book, Song of the Wind. The thread that unites the essays in it is the notion of empathic existence. Many of us are empaths but don’t know it. We just think something is wrong with us, that we are high strung.

That’s not it at all. We can sense things around us at a very deep level.

I even have a heightened sense of smell that connects me to the other world. Once in my apartment there was a man who thought he was still living there, who was dead. There was a certain scent to it, and I had to use sage to ask him to move on. The sense of smell connects you to other realities, as does sound.

Cedric: Remember, they said, “In the begin-

ning was the word.”

Janet, you mentioned empathy. How does one know he or she is empathic? For no reason at all I may suddenly feel down or depressed, and it seems it may be coming from our culture.

Janet: It’s coming from the Earth. People

like you are connected to the Earth. Do you ever feel a heightened anxiety with no real worries to tie them to? And then you’ll find there was a major tsunami or earthquake that happened at that time somewhere on the planet. That’s the major Earth connection. We can feel her strongly.

Empaths also feel very strongly the feelings of other people. They need to learn where their feelings end and the others’ begin. I am an English instructor, and right before a student is about to make a disclosure in my office, my eyes get watery and I say to myself, “Don’t cry. Don’t cry.” And then the student’s eyes water up because she was about to disclose and cry.

Because empaths feel others’ feelings so strongly, they really like to stay at home. It’s not agoraphobia usually. Out in crowds, the vibrations of all of the people can become unbearable for some people.

One thing Cedric and I learned from Lisa Williams, the English medium, was to wear a hat or a cap whenever we go out.

A lot of energy comes in from the top of the head, so it’s helpful to keep your head covered.

Speaking of these abilities — empathic and telepathic — every single one of us already is that, but we just don’t remember.

These gifts are relevant to the shift that’s happening, because to incorporate all of these new energies, we have to be connected.

There’s a tendency to be marginalized by our culture if you have a good sense of your own identity or if your ideas are different.

I want to encourage those people to know that they’re fulfilling their own purpose and their own destiny.

As Cedric tells me, trust your own intuitive heart — and that has helped me so much.

On prejudice: Cedric: It may surprise you, but in my own

life and my own experiences, the most prejudiced people I’ve ever met were the real Native Americans themselves. Janet and I witnessed it. She was at a powwow once in California and remembers how they treated her.

Our ancestors, the Native Americans, were the only ones who held the love vibration — the star people. My great-grandmother said we are stars in human form.

Well, all that love frequency with the natives is gone, and it’s been gone since the ‘60s. It died with the older people. This generation does not hold that love vibration, the love frequency.

I was born in 1949, and there are very few of us who still remember it. They never grew up in the country with cows and horses and going fishing and picking berries. It was such a way to grow up, riding on horseback all of the time. It was such fun living out in nature. Today, they don’t live like that.

They’re prejudiced because they think they are connected to Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull and Chief Joseph and all these great ancestors, but they’re not connected to them in heart. …I embrace Chinese people, black people, poor people, crippled people, orphans, widowers — I have all kinds of friends who are just everyday people that I meet. I don’t judge anybody. I am not against anybody, because they have their purpose, too. I told Janet, and she’s always remembered this: The hardest part of all is that you must be willing to be a nobody.

at Mary Laven’s (Wind over Fire Healing Arts Center). I didn’t know where she was and turned around, and she was right behind me. It’s kinda hard to sneak up on an Indian! (Laughing.) But she was standing there and embraced me, and I embraced her. The recognition between us was instant. I didn’t speak with her the rest of the night, because she had a presentation.

When the evening was over, she said, “Cedric, we should keep in touch.” We exchanged phone numbers. She called me yesterday and invited me up to her place. I’m thinking of going up there (to Grand Marais), because the connection is this: She’s with the Pleiadian stars (seven sisters) and I’m with the seven brothers, the Big Dipper. We’re both connected to the stars, in our own way. We recognize each other.

Christine has said that she knows the Pleiadians have talked to Native Americans for centuries. I do know that the reason she came back here is because the ancestors are here. She’s here for a purpose. But notice that there are not any Native Americans working with her. Once they realize who she really is, once they get past looking at her skin color and look at her heart, they will know that she really is a messenger and an ambassador.

A lot of them can’t get over that. My own brothers have their own lives and I don’t change them, because we’re all equal. Baby spirits and newborn spirits need rules and laws, otherwise they are not going to survive. As a spirit gets older, the less and less it needs them. In time, we won’t need rules and laws at all, because we’re not coming back any more. Over 70 percent of the people on planet Earth today are not coming back. I have to go back to turn the lights off! (Laughing.)

On the Mandan people: Cedric: The Mandans have their own story. We

came from the Gulf of Mexico. We came here on ships, on boats that didn’t have oars. We’ve always had our pipe. We planted corn, had tattoos and made pottery. We had a Corn Priest and a Turtle Priest. We had our ceremonies. We’re connected to the stars. We had prophecies.

All of these things were with the Mandans for all time. We were at Cahokia in St. Louis and then divided up. Some took the Mississippi and some took the Missouri. That was the last time we were one tribe, and then after that we divided up to smaller and smaller tribes. But we know our history of where we came from — and we know the history at the end.

“The end” is not the end. The Hopis call it the return of the blue star. Everything I have read about the return of the blue star has been false.

Everything. I know the real blue star, and the prophecy is not here yet.

I think it’s significant to mention that these things are not stories, and they are not myths.

A comment was made that Americans trivialize everything. I think in our culture that we tend to

do that so we can understand things that are really different, but what the Natives have to share is so simple. That’s what people don’t get about it. It’s simple, it’s beautiful and it’s helpful.

So we take it literally that owls did talk to the people, and the people actually understood what they were saying. That’s the connection we’re trying to get back. But we’re always making bumperstickers out of everything.

Cedric bought me a CD of Stephen Mitchell translating the Tao Te Ching, by Lao Tzu, and I played it every day on the way to work. Initially when I listened to it, I thought, “This is so annoying. He’s just deliberately speaking in contradictions. It doesn’t mean anything. He’s trying to frustrate me with all of these seemingly oxymoronic gems of wisdom.”

And then a couple of years later I kept listening to it, and all of a sudden everything he spoke was nectar. It all made sense. I just wasn’t ready to hear it earlier, and now, because of my experience, I understood it. For instance, when he says, “The master uses everything and wastes nothing.” Years ago, I would have thought that was a bumpersticker for recycling, but there’s a deeper meaning in it and now I can grab it. It’s simple wisdom. The master uses everything. Everything that happens in life, even seemingly hurtful or negative things, is there as fodder for our growth.

It’s important to meditate on these things and absorb them and understand them.

On religion and spirituality: Janet: It’s so great not to be affiliated with a

religion. Religion, as Cedric taught me, was an attempt to organize spirituality. Even though I was raised by Jewish parents — I love them, I am proud of them, I love the ethnic heritage — I’m not attached to any of it. It’s a part of me, but it’s not the essence of who I am.

Cedric: It’s an old Indian saying, I guess, because an old Indian said it. He said, “Religion is for those who are afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for those who have already been there.”

Do you think there will be a mass awakening?

Cedric: There will be a mass awakening, because

people are becoming more awake — that the government and laws and society cannot change people. They’re going to realize the truth — that the 9/11 was hokey pokey, was made up. They were trying to start another World War. They needed a war really bad. But people are seeing through the fakery. People are going to see that the government is going to want a bigger war, but it’s going to backfire on them.

The gap is getting bigger and the changes are happening. People think it’s “The End.” But it’s not the end. It’s the beginning of something really positive. We chose to come back in this lifetime to experience it. a

In that article, you read about the return of the world’s Teacher for the Aquarian Age, Maitreya, and His group, the Masters of Wisdom. That Spiritual Hierarchy has guided humanity since our very beginning on this planet, and after having retreated from public life after the Atlantean crisis, they are once again taking Their places openly among us.

My relief melted into joy as we settled on our cushions, forming a circle in the quiet. Thick adobe walls sheltered us from the icy, Peruvian winter.

Built by the Spanish centuries ago when this hilly slope of Cusco was farmland, the building is now a refuge for healing and spiritual pursuit. A yoga class in the inner courtyard garden began softly chanting, their voices sweetening the air as each member of our group spoke of their journey from home to this ancient, Incan capital and the emotions present at the commencement of our adventure. I gazed with wonder into the faces of the seven who had traveled from three continents to meet me in Cusco.

I had been tested during the six months since the sacred mountain, Apu Ausangate, gave me the directive to lead a pilgrimage to the Peruvian Andes to circumnavigate the massif. My role entailed a lengthy, admin-

istrative process in three languages, coordinating both the team that would support our trek, as well as those who were answering the call. There were moments when I was Jason, attempting to safely navigate the Argo between the Symplegades — the clapping mountains — that threatened to annihilate the entire venture. On one side rose my wall of doubt and on the other, my arrogant need for control. A voyage through an active door invariably requires loss, and this time, the sacrifice was the conceit of my ego.

I acknowledged the folly of trying to anticipate what we would encounter or if we would meet with success. The mountain demonstrated the importance of embodying equanimity and without hope or fear, haste or delay, surrender to the experience. Relaxing the grip of my mind allowed a spaciousness capable of receiving guidance at important junctures and spontaneous gifts that would enrich the expedition.

I introduced the group to a practice taught me by the Q’ero — descendants of

the Inca who maintain their mystical tradition unbroken. It is a simple ceremony that I have often witnessed my teachers use to initiate a gathering. Arranging a group of two or three coca leaves in the hand, one offers them to another person, voicing a request for permission from the Apus, Pachamama — Mother Earth — and also from the recipient.

The ritual requires a sweet reply, whereby as one receives the leaves, she names the giver a little dove, a cherished, dear one. A flow of giving and receiving — ayni in Quechua — is established as the coca leaves are exchanged, which honors the reciprocal nature of existence and the essential, equal value of both receiving and giving. As my fingers stroked the coca leaves, I sensed the presence of the Q’ero masters.

After three days in Cusco — our vital period of acclimation to the high elevation — we traveled to a small town at the base of Apu Ausangate for our encounter with the Q’ero. We were invited to sacred ritual in their temple, as well as a sweat lodge. It was a day of sustenance, followed by a death and rebirth.

During the sweat lodge, my role was the

new healing methods, the regeneration of body parts, and the defeat of many of our most serious diseases.

These advances and more characterize humanity’s bright future, but first we must make a decision: learn to share resources among all people and build a brilliant new civilization based on sharing, justice and peace, or to continue in our competitive habits and hasten destruction of all life on Earth. Maitreya and those who work with Him put that choice before men and women everywhere. Events in the world present the details of that choice,

As I tended the fire, massive clouds rose from behind the mountains to rapidly darken the sky and raindrops began to fall. I retreated under my poncho and was quickly joined by the three boys who were assisting me. As we cuddled, anticipating the onslaught of the storm, the tempest made a detour around the Q’ero temple, and to our amazement, torrents of rain began to fall in the distance at the foot of Ausangate, forming a spectacular double rainbow. One of the rainbows appeared to rise into the sky from the very top of the thatched roof of the temple.

Through the arches of the rainbows, Ausangate shimmered beyond a veil of rain.

Pachamama connected us simultaneously to the spiritual realms and the Earth, beckoning us to cross the threshold into the unknown territory of the immense mountains.

The next day, our trek began with an unrelenting climb to the first summit. Our bodies were hesitant under the strain of reduced oxygen and the difficulty of the first day on the trail. To our left, strikingly close,

and Maitreya observes our responses, respecting our free will.

But each of us should know the significance of this choice.

Many don’t think their opinions matter. In this case, at least, everyone matters. This choice is critical, for it determines the future of humanity on this planet.

Maitreya calls all people of goodwill to act. Learn the facts.

rose the magnificent Apu Ausangate — 6,384 meters (20,945 feet) of ice and rock. I gazed at the glorious mountain, connecting energetically with the immense power and felt renewed. I entered into prayer, asking for guidance to manifest a human version of its ancient resilience and patience.

I was given a clear directive that a meadow we were poised to cross represented a threshold into a new energetic, and that before traversing, our group must divide by gender, men on the right and women on the left, and that by doing so we would achieve a new balance of masculine and feminine.

We were also advised to be attentive to a rock that would call, giving permission to be carried to the summit.

Walking in two lines, we proceeded to slowly cross the meadow and climb the last hour to gain the summit: 4,850 meters (15,912 feet).

Upon our arrival, I was guided to invite the group to lie down in a circle, heads facing inward, with the highest point of the pass in the center. We each placed our rock on the physical heart. I then channeled a meditation that began by establishing a deep, sacred

connection with the physical body. We were then lowered into the planet, our Mother Earth, where we merged with the very locus of liquid fire in her inner sanctum where a blessing was given. After an eternity, we slowly returned to the surface and to our bodies.

I rose slowly and gazed at the mountain range in gratitude. We had been brought into the fiery womb of the Mother, our beloved Earth, where we had been nourished in preparation for the challenges that lay ahead: eight days of trekking in the foreign, inhospitable, unpredictable, magnificent Andes.

CONNECTING to the LIGHT within us

Of all the things I’ve written about, this topic is still my favorite subject: Connecting to that beautiful light within — or in modern terms, connecting to our inner GPS for guidance.

Within every living being, including the animal kingdom, an amazing knowing exists inside of the soul, and it has been there since we were first created. The Source that created us installed this GPS to give us guidance, direction, warnings, reassurance and answers. It’s a knowing, a hunch, a gut feeling, that is always accurate and never steers us wrong. How many things in life can you say that about? Not too many.

The challenge of living by this inner guidance is that the still small voice is silent. It would be great if it had a voice like James Earl Jones, but it’s pretty much the opposite of that deep booming voice — and therein lies the problem.

It takes time to learn how to“hear” the voice and connect to how it communicates to us. Today, everyone is in a hurry and we don’t think we have time to stop and listen — but, au contraire.

We can and need to learn how to listen to this silent voice. It’s imperative to our success. We think our success comes from hard work and planning, but it’s actually the opposite. It comes from listening to and trusting the guidance — and then taking that guidance to our amazing brains to manifest what we were told.

Think of it this way: This inner knowing has your life plan memorized. It knows what you want to accomplish and all about your goals and aspirations. It knows the people with whom you need to associate, the people with whom you have karma, and the people from whom you need to stay away. It knows you, your personality and your past lives. Your inner GPS has all the information it needs to help you make the best decisions possible for your life — everything from dates, the perfect day for an outdoor event, when to make a purchase, and what schools are best for you, your children and grandchildren.

It knows if you really need a new transmission or if you’re being scammed by someone. It has all the information you need to live a successful, productive, relevant life — and that information is yours for the asking.

The problem that I hear over and over from people is that they don’t trust their inner voice — and many are afraid of what it’s going to tell them. They feel this way because this still small voice is the voice of the Creator, and that brings up all kinds of feelings people have about God. Many are angry or resentful of God for the crummy things that have happened in their life, still believing that it’s “His” fault. Religion gets in the way and people would rather not have to deal with any of it.

The still small voice is not about religion. It’s about a loving God who loves you unconditionally and wants you to be a happy, productive person. It wants to make life easier for you.

So, how do you hear this silent voice?

For just about everything in life, we go to our mind to figure things out. It’s important to retrain yourself to go to the area between your heart and your gut. Use your imagination to see a brilliant white light at the Center of your soul.

Create it to look any way you choose. I used to visualize it as Command Central: A big room filled with white light, where all the knowingness existed. I imagined going into that room to get the information I needed. I learned how to feel the nudges I’d get: “yes” responses felt energetic, and “no” responses” felt blank.

In the beginning when I was learning how to hear the voice, I would only get yes or no answers, and as I’ve progressed spiritually, the answers have become more detailed. I talk to my inner voice throughout the day. Any decisions that have to be made, any help I need, I seek and receive the guidance.

Place your attention in your heart/gut, not in your brain. Find times throughout the day to be quiet and listen. The most important part of this process is to stay out of your head — and listen.

The more you can do this, the easier it gets.

Shut off the radio and TV. Walk away from the computer. Close your eyes and connect with that light. Ask specific questions, or simply ask if it has any guidance for you. The more you do this, the easier it gets.

Go to your inner voice first for guidance, and then go to your mind/brain to execute that guidance.

There’s one more important rule to remember about intuition: It does not have emotion. If you’re feeling anxious or fearful in your gut, that is not your intuition. Even when it delivers “bad” information, it will come with calmness. Intuition is not about drama. It’s about keeping it simple and getting right to the point.

IT’S OK TO FEEL LIKE SH *T SOMETIMES, DEAR LIGHTWORKERS

Do you feel bad about feeling bad, and beat yourself up when you’re already down?

Heaven knows, I used to do it all the time (still do every once in a while, but now I redirect myself).

I was such a good little lightworker, under the erroneous assumption that if I wasn’t a positive ray of sunshine every waking moment, that that meant I wasn’t spiritually evolved enough (whatever that means).

It pains me now whenever I witness other beautiful lightworkers avoiding their pain by sweeping it under a heaping pile of positivity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting that we go through life dwelling on our pain and spewing it upon everyone who’ll listen. We’d be a nightmare for ourselves and everyone around us. But, if we immediately try to turn around or “release” every negative emotion that creeps in, sooner or later we will find ourselves in a world of misery.

When we deny our emotions, we cause deeper wounds (think crater vs. crevice), lose golden opportunities for spiritual growth, and mute our irreplaceable emotional guidance system.

Our emotions are essential tools for our psychic awareness and development. They alert us when something is out of place, and when we are on the right track. They also reveal the wounded parts of our self, so that we may recognize the issue at hand, and begin the healing process. Beloved lightworkers, we must not deny our emotions; instead, we must learn to embrace them in all their beauty and darkness, for they are an integral part of our human experience, and our spiritual evolution.

Facing the Pain

Before we can release the negative emotions, we must explore them. Yet, this can feel impossible when our minds are going a mile a minute and we are truly freaking out. Use the following practice to explore your troubling emotions from a higher vantage point, and gain the spiritual lesson behind the pain: O M G P oints

When we become upset, we often go into fight, flight or freeze (FFF), just as our ancestors once did when their village was under attack by a wild animal or warring tribe. During FFF, nearly 80 percent of the blood leaves the forebrain, sending the body into a heightened state of awareness, pumped with enough adrenalin to counter attack or run like heck.

In Donna Eden’s energy medicine, she teaches that we can retrain our bodies out of FFF by working with our neurovascular points (points in which our meridians connect with the nervous system), so that we can keep the blood in our forebrain, and think clearly, even in times of great distress.

Here is the process: • Focus your awareness on the upsetting conditions and emotions.

• Lightly place your fingertips above the eyebrows (as pictured) and place your thumbs in the temples, next to the eyes.

Take nice, slow, deep breaths. Hold for 1 to 5 minutes, releasing when you either feel the blood pumping in the forebrain, and/or feel a calming shift in your energy.

The best thing about this practice is that you don’t have to work so hard on trying to be positive! It just happens naturally, by shifting the flow of blood and energy in the body. When you direct your body to become peaceful, your mind naturally follows.

From this place of centered tranquility, you can reflect upon the troubling situation from the perspective of the higher mind, the divine mind.

Here you will naturally cultivate solutions and gain a deeper understanding.

If you use this practice regularly, you can train your body and mind out of FFF response altogether. Can you imagine our world if we practiced this as a collective! There’d be a lot less bad news to report in the media, that’s for sure.

E motional Mindfulness

You can also use a simple mindfulness practice to honor your emotions and gain greater clarity.

Follow this process when you’re feeling upset:  Sit or lie down in a comfortable meditative position.  Call on your guides, angels, master or any divine being you identify with to come by your side and assist you in understanding and utilizing this pain for the greater good.  Ask yourself what you are feeling, and label the emotion. “I feel angry.”  Notice if you feel pain in a particular area of the body. This is where you are “holding” the negative energy in the body. Begin to breathe into this space.  Using your name, ask yourself what this is really about. “Nadine, what’s this really all about?”

When you pose a question to yourself in such a direct manner, it seems to pull the answer to the surface: “I feel taken advantage of.” If you stay focused on the breath, even more information may arise: “That reminds me of my childhood, all my friends took advantage of me back then.”  Now ask yourself, “What has this emotion taught me?” Receive the response. Here was mine, for example: “It’s taught me that it’s time to stand my ground, and speak up for myself.”  Let it go. Now that you have explored the emotion and gathered the information that you need, it’s time to let it go. You can do this by holding the Kespana Mudra (as pictured on page 30), for releasing negativity. Affirm: “I fully release all negativity from my body, mind and soul. Pure healing energies flow into me now.” Take several deep, slow breaths. With each exhale, release all the drama and baggage. With each inhale, take in the pure loving energies of the divine.

Duration: 2 minutes or more.  Take the necessary actions to remedy the situation that caused the problem in the first place. In my example above, I would talk with the individual who I felt was taking advantage and lovingly assert myself — knowing this might change our relationship, and trusting that it’s for the highest good of everyone involved.

WHAT IS 5TH DIMENSIONAL ENERGY HEALING?

New, evolving energy practices can help you flow the Light stronger and make your life easier!

Are you aware that energy medicine is changing? Many of the practices and guiding principles of the 3rd dimension, and even the 4th dimension, are becoming obsolete for some people.

Some of these older practices may still work for you, however, you may notice that evolving your practices has a very positive and uplifting effect on your energy.

When we step onto the physical 5th dimensional world, there will be a transition time for many. Why not make this transition as seamless and easy as possible? By learning 5th dimensional energy practices now, you allow the Light to flow through you more fully and you empower yourself for a smoother transition later. You are then more available to help others — including your friends, family and clients — who may really need your help both now, and with the 5th dimensional transition.

Fifth dimensional practices are simple. Sometimes less really is more.

Breathing into your heart chakra slowly and deeply three times brings a more calm, centered experience. When there are many distractions pulling you in different directions, bring yourself back to your soul by saying, “I choose to be in my heart now. As I breathe, I flow the Light of peace through my entire being.” Then, take several deep breaths to integrate the energy of the words spoken through your mind and body.

Exhaling with sound helps the energy move all the way through.

There are some 3rd dimensional practices that may no longer serve you.

Shifting the following practices increases the flow of Light straight up and down through your energy body, rather than dispersing energy outward, which can slow your vibration and make life seem a lot more difficult than it needs to be:  Discontinue grounding into the Earth — The Earth gridlines are collapsing, and with these changes there is much chaos energetically. You can see this in the world, and may also feel it in your own life. Instead of “grounding” into the Earth, consider anchoring into your heart chakra. This brings a

more peaceful feeling, as you are no longer picking up on the energy of the collective, which can create anxiety or a feeling of being “off.”

New chakras are opening beyond the physical body to support you in the ascension process for more strength and stability, without needing to ground into the Earth. These chakras are located below the base (or root) chakra, and above the crown chakra. Becoming more conscious of these chakras allows you to trust more in the power of your own soul, and realize you are no longer dependent on other beings or the Earth.

Personally, I have seen this firsthand with some of my clients. When they changed this simple practice of discontinuing grounding into the Earth, they reduced their anxiety dramatically.  Discontinue sending emotional or low-vibrational energy into the Earth — We are taught not to pollute the Earth, and this is what’s happening energetically when we engage in this practice. Send emotional or low-vibrational energy into the Light above the crown chakra, for this allows this energy to dissolve into the Light. The Earth is going through her own transformational process and can complete that process on her own. Let’s just make it easier for her.

Learning new 5th dimensional practices strengthens your connection to your soul and brings more consciousness to the real power of your energy body. The 5th dimension is about Being the Light within oneself, not depending on another human being, spiritual being or otherwise, for your own growth. It’s about realizing the immense power of your own soul to take you where you want to go. Evolving your energy practices builds an unshakable inner trust that is tangible. The Light then flows continuously, straight up and down through the body. This is the way of the 5th dimension.

Third dimensionally, we would flow energy out towards others, to heal, to protect, and so on. HOW DO YOU STAY CONNECTED TO THE LIGHT IN A DISTRACTED WORLD?

The title question is rooted in misconception, because asking how to stay connected implies the possibility of a disconnection. We are much more than just connected to the light; we are created with, immersed and part of the fabric of the light.

So it might be better to ask: “How can I become and stay aware of my true relationship with the light in a distracted world?”

While our fear may prompt us to accept the existence of any distance from our source, the very fear itself and the distance it seems to create is only made possible by what appears to be the absence of our source. The distance or darkness is not a reality, as Einstein said: “Darkness is the absence of light.”

The light is our reality; only through our lack of awareness are there any shadows, darkness or feelings of distance. If you can accept your true being, that you are created from and are an

 Awakening continued from page 9 this awakening process, because it leads to the discovery of our subconscious blocks if we set an intention for this to happen. PLR is far more than just seeing a past life. It’s about transcending the mind’s tendency to control in order to allow a higher guidance system to give you precisely what will help you move to the next level. You not only see a life that will expose a limiting pattern or belief, but PLR also helps you identify with the part of you that transcends the ego-based thinking mind.

First, the information can drop into your awareness only when the analytical mind is ignored or quiet. Secondly, you begin to identify with and experientially feel the soul part of you between the lives after the death of the past life. As a result, a deep silencing of thought is noticed as you become solidly anchored in the eternal Now moment, free of the mind’s chatter and clutter. What remains is a clear, shining free being of clarity and awareness. You become like a bright light bulb that has wiped away the mental dirt that obscured it, exposing

eternal fraction of the light, then you can take comfort and ease yourself from any fear of disconnecting. Fear is only possible in the absence of your awareness of the light and the feeling of distance is only possible by denying you are part of the light itself.

So, while we may live a life with distractions, whether or not they delay us from being attentive to our awareness, no matter how much elapses between our moments of awareness, neither the distraction nor any time elapsed has any power in creating any distance from the light. Creating a distance is not possible and knowing we can’t be disconnected alleviates any fear of such.

Whether we are ignorant to the light’s presence or through our own conscious choice choose to ignore or deny the light’s existence, it doesn’t remove its presence from our life.

Creating a habit of recognizing the light in a show of gratitude every morning will enlighten your day.
