Reduce stress, radon exposure at Healthy Life Expo From radon reduction to stress reduction, the 29th Healthy Life Expo offers many ways to improve your health.

The Expo, the Midwest’s largest health and wellness expo, takes place November 4-5 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Nearly 200 exhibitors will be on hand to display the latest products and services for better health and fitness. Gluten-free foods will be available for sampling, The Back Road Kickers will demonstrate square dancing, and USA Karate will also put on a tournament all day Sunday benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project and do a karate demo on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The event will feature many

speakers on three stages, including: • Sarah Routman will take show attendees through a session of “Laughter Yoga” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The stressrelieving “curriculum” includes Smile-ups and creative laughter exercise games to get people up and moving. A leadership instructor and wellness champion at the University of Minnesota, Routman has also published two laughter coloring books. She will talk about her coloring books in a Sunday coloring session.

• Lynell Hage, RN, will present a demonstration of Bemer technology, which increases blood flow and improves circulation, resulting in stress reduction and increased

endurance and mental acuity.

NASA used Bemer technology in its space suits. Hage, who has used the therapy for almost a decade, will speak at 11 a.m.

• Dr. Mark Steenerson of the Health Restoration Center will talk at noon about the three secret causes of stress and how stress affects hormones, sleep, weight gain, chronic pain and blood sugar.

• Kayla O’Rourke, owner of the Bar Method, which is opening this fall in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood, will demonstrate the Bar Method workout. The workout uses isometrics, interval training and dance conditioning while emphasizing sculpting more than other barre workouts by targeting the muscles that play the largest role in changing the shape of the body. She will be onstage at 1 p.m.

• Mike Thompson from Midwest Radon Specialists will take the stage at 2 p.m.

He’ll discuss and share health concerns regarding radon, as well as common methods of reducing indoor radon levels.

• Garrett McCormick, of thirtytwo probiotics, will discuss true probiotics and their importance in maintaining healthy body chemistry.

• Spruce Krause will speak on tips and tools for “Awakening Happiness.” She will also offer mini healing sessions at her booth.

• Katie Mandell and Mary Brunner, registered dietitians with Hy-Vee, will speak on how they can provide nutrition counseling, lifestyle management programs and cooking classes, among other services.

• Rosaline Sterenborg is the sole American distributor of Curaloe Aloe Vera Juice. She will focus on the benefits of aloe vera in the diet, including fatigue and stress reduction, strengthening of the immune system and as a digestive aid.

TV and radio personalities will also be on hand. The Healthy Life Expo will award free goodie bags to the first 100 people in line. Admission is $6 at the door.

A satisfying gluten-free recipe Food First

ant to go gluten-free, but still crave the texture of pasta? Want a satisfying meal that is also dairy free? I’ve got you covered with this very fresh dish that you can make with a few simple ingredients from the Farmer’s Market or from your garden!

This is an easy dish that takes about 20 minutes to make and pairs well with a green salad or fruit. Did I mention that it is also packed with nutrients? Zucchini is loaded with Vitamins A, C and B-complex and is a great source of the minerals such as Iron, Zinc, Manganese and Potassium. It’s one of the easiest veggies to digest and is full of fiber which is great for digestive health and weight loss as well!

Instead of feeling tired after a big pasta meal, try this and see for yourself the energy you will feel!

Garden Fresh Pasta Noodles: 3 or 4 large zucchini Olive oil (optional) Sauce: 6 Roma Tomatoes 1 handful fresh basil 1/2 tsp. dried oregano 3 garlic cloves 4 T. Olive Oil 1. Using a spiralizer, make noodles from the zucchini. You can use the noodles raw, just as they are, or you can heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and stir-fry the noodles briefly for about 2 minutes until tender.

The noodles are great either way!

2. Place all sauce ingredients in a blender and blend until combined.

3. Toss Noodles and Sauce together and enjoy!

Activating the selfrealization process A Pleiadian Message

eloved ones, we greet you. The Holy Vine frequency is intensifying in the form of an expanding brilliant light.

This light is activating and creating a new weave of consciousness throughout planet Earth. This flow of light weave can be likened to the creation of a unique fabric, containing colors and textures never seen or witnessed before on your planet. This light texture flow is simultaneously being interwoven within the heart cells of mankind, within your heart cells.

This movement is designed to activate a further resurrection frequency within the heart. This self-resurrection energy comes directly through from the Christ energy, which makes up an aspect of the Holy Vine frequency. This essence is designed to build up and activate the self-realization process within those of you who are ready to move into a new place of enlightenment within your selves.

Embodied within An essential aspect of your self-resurrection is embodied within the entwining of this light force within your heart cells. Know that your heart carries a natural extension of the Holy Vine component and your unique divine energetic signature plays its role by acting as an anchor for the Holy Vine on your planet.

This anchoring is supporting this creation of the form of a natural womb-like expression surrounding Earth.

The Holy Vine frequency will continue to intensify during this month of September, and those of you on the path will experience a deepening of intensity of drama within your human experience on the planet. ence this by saying, “all is in hand.” Your own heart naturally holds the reflection of this Truth within this weave, and this weave is designed to steadily mirror the frequency of Truth back to yourself.

Your human aspect Another essential aspect in your evolutionary process is for you to hold your human aspect with respect and love. Do not allow the reflections from the illusion in your life to define how you relate to yourself and who you believe yourself to be. Now is the time for you to allow your full human expression of being alive. This feeling of aliveness arises through the action of self-love and compassion for your own humanness. The true act of love is self-acceptance. The self-acceptance of your vulnerable human parts is a necessary and an essential component in your unfolding process. This acceptance comes through your understanding of your own human idiosyncrasies and that being human is to be in a “perfectly imperfect” state.

Relax. Let go of trying so hard to get it right, to do everything perfectly. Celebrate your own imperfection!

You are, in Truth, a powerful creative being, and the illusion of fear and lack and the judgments of the ego mind can bring you into a place of disbelief in your self. There can be the feeling of despair within this illusion.

The immersion within the illusion can be highlighted at this juncture as the drama on your planet intensifies. What is essential is for you to align within your heart space daily and work consciously within and through your own unique creation of life.

Emotional expressions The current situations in your life are mirroring the hidden aspects of unfulfilled emotional expressions of your human nature.

You are the creator of every experience in your life that surrounds you right now. These experiences have been co-created by you, and your Higher Self and these experiences are here to provide you with an avenue in order to bring you to a place of new understanding of your human vulnerabilities. This is part of your journey, a sacred design to bring you to another level of inner healing for your self-liberation.

Know that whatever is happening in your life now no way reflects who you are as a human being. You are perfect just the way you are. There have been no wrong decisions.

Deeply compelling, often startling and occasionally humorous, John’s downto-earth approach has earned him a vast and loyal following.

He took time out of his busy schedule, just following a tour of Australia, to speak with The Edge about his career. Having watched John on television, like thousands of others, I began by asking him where he has been.

We haven’t seen you on TV for years. Why did you leave TV and how has your work as a medium evolved since we’ve seen you last?

One of the questions people will ask me is, “What are you doing now?” and the reason

why they ask me that is they think that my career began on TV and that it would end with TV. In reality, before the show “Crossing Over,” I was already doing this work for 15 years, so I had a very thriving clientele from all around the country and parts of the world. The TV show kind of blew that lid off the cover, but I did “Crossing Over” for four years. I thought I was done with television. For two years I was not on television, but I did another show for about three seasons, and then I made a conscious decision to come off of television.

It was wildly unpopular for people who were in my circle, because they were like, “Why would you leave a successful show?” I felt like I wasn’t being challenged. I did seven years of television and both shows had a similar kind of feeling to them.

“Crossing Over” was the only show of its kind. It was a show where I stood in front of an audience full of people, which was kind of what my events are. “Crossing Over” was actually built on watching my events and trying to transpose that to the TV audience.

of it, they wanted it to be different, so they followed me on the road doing my events and then I would do follow-ups and go home with the people and they would explain who came through and I’d watch their video and look at their photos.

So, I essentially did “Crossing Over” themed shows for seven seasons and well over 700 or 800 shows, and I kind of felt like, I need to do something different, and I was guided to do something online.

I’m pretty ambitious. I felt like I pioneered this a little bit on TV, making it more of the everyday mainstream, so then I wanted to do it online. I left TV to develop an online presence, kind of like a psychic community, and it had multiple incarnations. It’s reincarnated and now it’s in its official phase which is called “Evolve.”

How have I evolved? I’ve evolved into “Evolve,” an online destination behind a pay wall. It’s a community of folks who are really serious about the subject matter, not folks who are just taking a chance. I do an online show once a week, and we talk about how to get people to evolve. We talk about different topics that are spiritual. We have different guests come on who range from a doctor of behavioral therapy, to a doctor that deals with grief, to one of my favorite guests of all time, a young woman who wrote the book Skinny is the New Healthy, talking about body image.

We’ve had celebrities come on, but they are not really what people want, which is kind of refreshing, to be honest, because in TV it was always about celebrity, celebrity, celebrity. The online folks tell me, “No, we want this to be about us.” It’s about providing people with insights, information, tools, how to develop spiritually, and how to have conversations with likeminded people. Every week an episode airs, and we are just about ready to launch in September a new platform. The site got a whole makeover and we’re launching the tenth season of “Evolve.”

Quite honestly, Tim, we’re doing things on “Evolve” that I would never be allowed to do on TV, ever. Being psychic, you have a futurist view of what is coming when it comes to trends, and I started to see what was happening with TV, and I didn’t want to be a part of it. I knew then that I would never be allowed to have these conversations because TV was moving into much more of a conflict resolution reality-based thing, which I find fake. I did not fit into that.

Over the last decade I probably have had, no joke, 30 meetings with different production companies and networks who told me, “Hey, we want you to come back. You are the real deal. You’re the original who started all this.”

Then they would like pitch me what their ideas are and I just would be like, “I can’t. I 1 2 w w w. e d g e m a g a z i n e . n e t

don’t have to be on TV.” Thank God! I don’t need that. I didn’t need it before. I don’t need it now. For me, it has given me the luxury of going, “Yeah, this is going to be something that is going to enhance what I’m doing,” and I have a passion and I have a mission, and when those two things come together I’m pretty unstoppable. I want to leave people better than when I find them, and I want to inspire them.

I have never had a desire for fame. I don’t have a need to be recognized. So, when you take all of that away, for me TV is just a platform. Now it’s like, do I want to utilize this platform or do I not want to utilize it? Is this platform going to be beneficial for the subject matter or is it going to be detrimental to anybody that I work with.

I just feel like the dumbing down of society through where TV’s been and people allowing it to happen has created a lack of, I don’t want to say empathy, but almost like a de-sensitizing, I think that’s the right word, a desensitizing about how people observe.

Sometimes I feel like I’m at the zoo and I’m watching people and I’m surprised by how really amazingly smart, intelligent people watch shows like, “Real Housewives” of anywhere. One of my favorite moments of recent television viewing happened on the show called “The Newsroom.” Jeff Daniels did a speech in one of the episodes that, if I thought I wouldn’t get in trouble for doing it, I would record it and then put it on my social media, because it was exactly what I felt.

I feel like where we are now in a political sense is a complete reflection of where we came from for an entertainment sense. It almost paved the way for what is happening — and I think all of this, from a societal, anthropological observing way, is scary.

How do you introduce what you do at your events?

In the beginning when I do my events I say to people, “I have to unite the room energetically,” and I say to them, “Okay, guys, do you think we’re coming from a place in the world that is united or divided?” and they all say, “Divided,” and I go, “Look at that!

One question and I united the entire room.”

So, it’s a matter of knowing in life what questions to actually ask and what answers to seek questions to, to be able to live an empowered, evolved, enlightened, enriched, balanced, spiritual life. Part of that is to be able to look at different perspectives.

I actually blend what is happening energetically and globally into my events. I talk about these things in a lighter kind of way to make it non-political, but in an energetic way.

I say, “What is the greatest divide that we have, for real?” People will say, “politics,”

and I’ll say, “No, it’s not politics. It’s grief.

The greatest divide that we all deal with is grief, and it is a guarantee that you are going to deal with it. Death is the guarantee that you get when you are born.”

There is this thing that takes place, which is shock and surprise. I don’t understand why people are shocked and surprised that someone passes, because it is a guarantee.

The true issue is that we only spend 1 percent of our life dealing with death and 99 percent of our life ignoring the fact that it is going to happen. If people have more conversations about the concept of death, if people have conversations about their belief systems, about after death, if people have concepts and conversations about all things surrounding that, it would alleviate a lot of the angst — but it doesn’t mean that the grief is going to go away.

Death becomes the ultimate divide, and grief becomes the thing that builds on that division — and a medium is somebody to help show that there is a bridge between both, but the true work has to happen with the client.

I talk a lot about that. It’s really about understanding that it is going to happen.

We’re all going to go, and it’s going to happen at different times, but what we do in-between when we’re born and when we pass is live, and that’s what we address.

So, regarding the readings that come through during my events, the people who get read, I always say, are the teaching souls who are coming through for the event.

Those teaching souls come through for their family, but the event is really for the people who are not read, because they are listening and hearing everybody else’s reading.

I really see my events as being a classroom of teaching, and that a bunch of like-minded energies and souls in a similar place in their lives are being brought together universally by their loved ones and friends, their guides, for me to meet up with them.

It’s like we’re at a marathon. If you’re running in a marathon, there is a checkin point and people give you water, rub you down with a towel, whatever they do at a check-in point. I feel like at some point that’s where I’m meeting folks, at that spiritual check-in point where it might help them deal with something that’s going on or prepare them for what’s coming up or maybe give them tools to understand things differently. A lot of times people will say that after they leave an event they feel like they found their faith back, because they were angry at God or religion for the loss.

So, that’s my path, that’s my goal, that’s my mission. That’s why I travel the world.

That’s why I do what I do.

Are most souls who come through and

share information through you doing so because they have had a difficult time reaching their loved ones on this side?

I think the better way to say it is they are connecting. They are coming through, they are with them, but it’s the living who are a bit foggy about what’s taking place. That’s what I use as an analogy.

I say that when we go into the grief place, it’s like driving on the highway of life. The road signs are there, but if a fog rolls in you can’t see them.

Right? If the fog rolls in you can’t see the signs that are on the side of the road, but they’re there.

I feel like we have to work on our grief, and by working on our grief we lift that fog and then you can see the signs that are in your life.

I feel like they want us to know that they’re with us, they want us to know that they’re okay, but you know what? They’re not a job-finding service. They’re not a dating service. They can’t fix things. They can’t give you the winning lottery numbers. It’s no different than when you’re in school and mom or dad can’t walk into your classroom and give you the answer on a test.

This is the classroom of life. Those loved ones and friends who are watching us are with us and are looking over us and are participating in our lives. I know that, but they also know that we are evolving through our classroom of life and learning the lessons that we need to learn as a soul before we graduate to join up with them again. So, they have to allow us to kind of learn our lessons. They help when they can, they guide where they can, and they assist where they can, but too many people expect, demand, feel like they are entitled to a bigger message from them.

This is where I think TV does a really big disservice. TV is highly edited now, and I don’t think it allows a reading to breathe and it doesn’t show the subtlety. If you took episodes of “Crossing Over” and you matched it to episodes of any of the TV shows in the last five years that are on the supernatural, “Crossing Over” from a produced standpoint is a documentary, and these shows are produced.

I’m not joking, I was really difficult with “Crossing Over” because I would tell them they can’t edit out of sequence. They can edit for time, but not for content. They can’t change the message. You can’t make TV. An executive once came and said that he wanted to take a reading out of a show, and I went, “Why?” And he said, well this woman’s reaction is kind of like non-reacting, and I like looked at him and I went, “Dude! She lost her son and her son’s coming through. She’s in shock.”

He goes, “But, it doesn’t make good TV. She doesn’t react. She’s not emoting.”

The producer is looking at me and the executive producer is looking at me and I was like, “Nobody in this office is calling this woman to tell her that her son’s reading is not making it into the show because she didn’t cry. If you want to call her in front of all of us and say, ‘On behalf of the studio that’s happening,’ but not on my name. That’s not happening.”

Do you have any recommendations for the people who will be coming to see you live in the Upper Midwest?

I think that if somebody is thinking about coming and they feel like they need a reading, don’t come. Stay home. Go work with a therapist because that’s really where they need to put their money and energy. They need to be ready to be part of a process where they are not read.

If someone feels that they are open to experiencing it, that they’ll allow anybody to come through, but they could be content watching the process happening and celebrate watching the process happening while managing the normal human disappointment of, “Gee, I wish I would have gotten read, but wow, that woman really needed that,” or “That guy really needed that” or “There, for the Grace of God go I, I’m so happy I wasn’t that family.” Then those folks can come.

Make a list of names, know initials, know dates, know anniversaries, know your family, but you don’t need to bring anything. People think that if they show up hours early it’s going to increase their chances. That if they get up in the front of the room it makes a difference. It doesn’t matter where in the room you’re sitting.

Know your family. Know that if you were married more than once that your in-laws from your previous marriage can come through.

People who have been gone for 30 years can come through.

I tell folks, “Understand that I’m going to give you information, not entertainment, so I’m not performing, I’m teaching. It’s not a show. It’s an event.” For me, it’s about giving information.

I ready people with what to expect, and I will say right in the beginning, “I’m sorry I’m going to disappoint you, but I’m not talking about butterflies and feathers and angel wings. I’m not talking about tattoos and photos and jewelry. I’m not talking about dragonflies and finding change or orbs in photos. All those things are real, but I’m not going to stand in front of an audience of 100 people and say, ‘Did somebody here find a feather?’”

Have I gotten those messages? I did 20 years ago. Now, I feel like we’re in a different spot, like we’re going to advance the subject matter to the next level and intellectualize it and take the emotional side out of it so that the real healing can begin. I always tell people, “I’m not going to make you cry. I’m going to make you think.”

I’ll be 48 in October. I’ve had this perspective for 30 years. The people who are supposed to find me are going to find me. It’s about raising awareness, putting something positive in the universe, giving people an opportunity to think. I think it’s really important that people are thinking for themselves and not thinking what other people. eptember begins with a bumpy ride, but one which offers us many opportunities for healing. We launch into a time of great productivity mid-month, and the general mood rolls into a more loving, egalitarian, social-justice orientation by the end of the month.

August eclipses shook loose blocked energy, for better or worse, and now we deal with the fallout. As Mercury retrogrades through September 5, our minds are brought back to the gifts and problems of the past.

We reviewed our personal and political histories to search for new answers to old problems and remember where we were before summer began.

Virgo rules the intestines, the process of sorting and absorbing nourishment while removing waste. Virgo encourages us to perform this sorting across the board in our life, to sort our stuff, our facts, our emotional assumptions, our world, so we can absorb what nourishes us and release the rest.

Mars joins the Sun in Virgo while Mercury turns direct on September 5 and work begins, picking up momentum September 9-13 as Mercury enters Virgo and the Sun squares industrious Saturn. Get proposals in by September 16 as Mercury conjuncts Mars and speeds up decisions. Mercury opposes Neptune September 19 for an intuitive, confusing, imaginative but easily misunderstood week, but one that calls us to search deeper. We are encouraged to bring out life into balance as the Sun enters Libra on September 22 and Mercury enters Libra September 29.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…Work takes attention this month; proceed with creativity rather than anxiety. Model healthy leadership, no matter your position. Charming camaraderie can ease your way, but you still need to walk the talk. Your efforts can allow you to rest after the equinox and

Soul & the Solarized Mind An interview with Esoteric Philosopher William Meader

illiam Meader, an influential and respected teacher of the Esoteric Philosophy — also known as “the Ageless Wisdom” with roots apparent in Theosophy, Masonry and other ancient spiritual traditions — is returning to his native Minnesota in September to present three public talks and two daylong workshops on the soul.

The noted author and speaker, who grew up in Minneapolis and later Bayport, is a graduate of Stillwater High School and Mankato State University. Meader has established an international reputation for his gift as a communicator of this philosophy. His extensive teaching program includes a diverse array of workshops and lectures devoted to nurturing a deeper understanding of the spiritual path, both from an individual and global perspective.

He is the author of Shine Forth: The Soul’s Magical Destiny and he publishes regularly on such esoteric topics as the spiritual constitution of human beings, the evolution of consciousness, spiritual initiation and practical mysticism. He has produced a fine library of audio and video recordings and is a regular speaker at the Wrekin Forum, international conferences and Theosophical Society venues. Let’s start at the beginning: what is the Soul?

That’s a great question, and actually it’s not asked enough, because it’s a word that is used so loosely and widely. I think if you were to have 20 people answer that question you’d find differences in all of them. But, let me give you how the esoteric

philosophy views it.

The broad definition is that soul is simply a word that discusses consciousness. It’s simply the capacity to perceive, to register vibration from the environment, and to organize perceptions around that process. In the broadest sense, everything that we see as living is actually soulful, in as much as everything has some measure of consciousness to it.

For instance, a plant has soul because it has some measure of intelligence, some measure of consciousness to it. Each kingdom of nature is a greater pattern of what constitutes soul. In the animal kingdom the concept of soul, the instrument of perception, is more complex than it was when life was lived through the plant kingdom, and in the human kingdom, it becomes even more intricate and complex.

One of the main things that happens when life finally enters into the human kingdom is that the consciousness of a human being, unlike an animal, is now developing the capacity to individualize their thoughts; a human being can think independent of animal instinct. We can think contrary to the mass, so to speak, and accompanying that is a gradual process of a human being over many incarnations to develop the capacity to introspect.

As a kingdom of nature, our soul experience is actually heightened by the idea that we can become aware of awareness. To be aware of awareness is a critical factor when it comes to soulful consciousness, or consciousness of self, in the human kingdom. Eventually that process of introspection leads an individual to a major discovery in their long incarnational history, and that is the discovery that you have two of you in there. You start to discern that

there is a day-to-day consciousness, and then there is something higher. You start to sense a higher prompting within, a higher kind of love, and you start to distinguish between knowledge and a deep recognition of wisdom inside.

So the notion of soul starts to become more refined, as discussed in the esoteric philosophy, when a person is living life on the path, because you discover your own duality, this higher and lower dimension of consciousness. What we do in this philosophy is define the higher portion of that realized consciousness, what we call soul, and the lower part, what we call personality. That higher dimension of consciousness, which we call soul, is what is believed to be carried on from one incarnation to the next, and it is evolving and acquiring and gathering and garnering wisdom through every incarnation. The lower dissolves away into the reservoir, you might say, at the time of death.

The higher division of consciousness that is equivalent to what we now call soul is very much what we mean by the solarized mind.

Why would one want to embark upon the journey of not only relating to the soul, but embodying the soul?

From a philosophic point of view, there is an ultimate inevitability to that. What happens over the course of many, many incarnations is that all that is known and dealt with and developed is the lower self, the personality, until that awakening takes place. That’s where you start to really awaken to your own individual identity. Why that becomes important is that as a person starts to awaken to a higher prompting within, or sensing that deeper soul quality, there is a variety of patterns of consciousness that arise because of that.

One of the things that becomes more realized as you recognize this higher part of you is that that higher part of you is actually what you are to become more fully expressive of. It’s almost a recognition that that higher part of you is more the true you, and

that you begin to strive to become more and more identified with and expressive of that higher part of you. So, it’s not just a matter of, “Oh, should I pursue more of that higher part of me?” Ingrained in the awakening of that higher part of you is a subtle sense of recognizing that that actually is you.

As you said, this is a path that we all find ourselves on, incarnation after incarnation?

That’s right. In the big picture it’s unavoidable. The pace, the speed and the measure of resistance to that will vary greatly for a variety of reasons, but in the end, it’s all moving forward to a higher note. And there’s a reason for that. It’s because in this philosophy there’s something called hylozoism — an incredibly important principle in esotericism and in ancient thought.

It’s this idea that every unit of life is a cell within a vaster unit of life.

For instance, let’s start with a cell within your body. A cell is an entity. It is a unit of consciousness. It’s true that it’s infinitesimal in its consciousness, but, nonetheless, it’s a unit of consciousness — and yet, it’s a cell within a larger living system called “me,” and you and I are cells within a larger entity called “Humanity,” and humanity in this philosophy is viewed as one being, one entity, that has a soul and has a personality.

Indeed, much of the crisis of the world today is a reflection of a crisis between the soul of humanity and its personality expression.

But humanity is just a unit of consciousness within a vaster entity called “The Planetary Logos.” The Planetary Logos is the being, the livingness of our whole planet, and you and I are subsets, units of consciousness within its evolution. And like each of us, the Planetary Logos is evolving over the vastness of time.

So the whole human kingdom is just a subset of a larger living system that also is evolving, and that’s why human evolution, our individual evolution toward a higher, wiser, broader awareness, is inevitable.

And, the idea of collective consciousness plays into the hylozoism, and that’s how we can connect with each subset that we’re a part of?

Absolutely. Yes. And, what’s so interesting about that is that in ancient esotericism it’s understood that the whole of humanity is the throat chakra to the Planetary Logos, the entity that ensouls the whole planet.

Imagine that for just a moment: the sum total of human consciousness is simply the throat chakra vibration to that entity.

What’s really interesting is that it begs a question: “Well, what’s the function of the throat chakra?” To understand what that is is to get at the very root of what it means to be living life in the human kingdom. The purpose of the throat chakra is to be the center for creative ideations. Just like with a human being, your throat chakra is the place through which your soul’s creative ideas find expression and service to the outer world. So, too, on a higher turn of the spiral, does the entire human kingdom. It’s destiny is to be the collective throat chakra to the creative intention of the Planetary Logos. It’s an amazing concept, when you really think about it.

How would you compare a life lived without recognizing the soul and one that does recognize the soul?

That’s another great question. In fact, that’s crucial to the path. It’s not just about awakening to a higher prompting, but it’s also a recognition of, or the need to discern, the main differences.

The personality is going to be guided by what, in Hinduism, is called ahamkara.

That is a Sanskrit word meaning, “the tendency to self-reference.” The personality is preoccupied with its individual identity.

The soul, although it has an individualized identity, is preoccupied by its dynamic interconnectedness with the wholeness of  see SOUL on p. 18

rightly sense the love and intelligence of the Soul, then to dedicate oneself to living and expressing it through every aspect of life. Yet, it is often not realized that the Soul has an eternal companion that provides divine assistance every step of the way. Sometimes called the Solar Angel, this great being seeks to illuminate our thoughts with profound wisdom. In this way, the evolution of consciousness occurs and the solarized mind (light-filled) begins to emerge.

• September 24 — Revelation: Holding the Mind Steady in the Light, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., $85 (or $150 for both daylong workshops): Due to its tendency to dismiss intuition, the mind has been called the Slayer of the Real. However, this is only a half-truth, for the mind is also humanity’s greatest gift. Human thought has the power to reveal the Soul’s wisdom and conveys a deeper meaning to the circumstances of life. As such, it is equally true to say that it is the Revealer of the Real. Indeed, the mind is the agent for the Soul’s revelations. In this seminar, we will closely consider the nature of human consciousness, and how we can become more receptive to the revelatory light emitted by the Soul. a

things. It’s the soul in us that senses that underlying the diversity of outer life. There is this feeling of a deeper, inner unity, an inner oneness. The soul in you is the part of you that not only senses that underlying unity, but also increasingly wants to find ways to contribute to the upliftment of something in support of that larger whole, to make an uplifting contribution to something beyond your individuality. The personality’s mode is one of action.

In the end, without any soul influence, the personality’s motive will be not only self-referencing, but self-gratifying, and egotistical in the way that we traditionally use that word, “ego.”

Who is the Solar angel that you will speak of in your talk and how does it relate to this whole experience?

One of my two workshops I will be presenting is “The Solarized Mind, The Soul and Its Angelic Companion.” When we talk about the angelic companion, that gets into an understanding of what constitutes the intelligence of our inner system.

For instance, on a lower level we have a physical body made up of physical intelligence substance. On the next level up, we have an emotional body. It, too, is made of a different type of intelligent substance, and the intelligence that arises from that substance is what brings forth our awareness of feeling states. Our concrete, logical thinking, the mental dimension, also is a layer of intelligent substance, and that substance gives rise to thoughts.

Then we have what is called the causal body, a term used to describe the container of intelligent substance deep within that is holding the wisdom of the soul itself.

This causal body is a huge factor in understanding our journey. That’s the solarized mind, the thing that moves from one incarnation to the next.

The causal body is the storehouse of acquired wisdom that you have garnered

over countless incarnations. It’s also a natural repository for Christ-like love. The container, itself, is said to be associated with an angelic life that is actually said to be providing you that container, so that you can, over time, realize that wisdom, and you can, over time, realize that higher, more selfless, more Christ-like love.

It is believed in this philosophy, and in some aspects of Hindu thinking, that there’s a great angelic life, sometimes called a deva. Every human being has an angelic entity overshadowing them, and it has been so since the process of individualization began. Individualization is the term used to describe movement into the human kingdom from the animal kingdom millions and millions of years ago. There’s an angelic entity, called the Solar Angel, that has been a companion.

You might say the Solar Angel has provided what is needed for a human being, over countless incarnations, to gradually develop an understanding of wisdom beyond knowledge, to develop a relationship to higher love that is more selfless, and to ultimately help that individual spiritually evolve — to the point of final liberation, where full enlightenment occurs. It is said that at that time, the solar angel is set free.

It’s done what it could do.

The work of the Solar Angel is to contain us, and then we begin to integrate with it, and then it’s no longer needed once we finish that integration?

That’s a way of putting it, yes. It’s called the Solar Angel because it is believed in ancient esotericism that its life nature, its livingness, issues forth from the livingness of the sun itself. That’s also why sometimes the soul is called the Solarized Mind, because a solar angelic entity is believed to be supporting you all the way.

Let’s talk about your second workshop, “Revelation: Holding the Mind Steady in the Light.” Are you’re saying the mind is a part of the spiritual process?

Absolutely. One of the greatest tragedies

in the spiritual community today is that there’s an attitude about mind that is slightly amiss. A lot of people will say to you that the mind is the slayer of the real and, therefore, the mind should be distrusted, in terms of its relationship to your spiritual development. That’s not correct. It’s not that the mind is the slayer of the real, it’s that the lower mind is the slayer of the real.

Your higher mind is your greatest gift.

Your higher mind is the mind of the soul.

It’s the sum total of the wisdom and intuitive understanding that you have deep within, and the great tragedy of alternative spirituality today, and this is also very evident in the New Age movement, what you’ve said, that there are people who think that the mind is your obstacle. That’s nonsense.

The lower mind, indeed, can be an obstacle because it’s tinctured with ego and selfreference and it’s strictly analytical, it’s not intuitive, but the higher part of your mind is literally the most astounding gift that you have as a function of spiritual living.

So, the higher mind is actually the content provided to us by the soul, if you look at the human body as a container.

That’s right. It’s a deep container. The causal body is this deep container that’s holding the wisdom that you have earned over thousands of incarnations, and that soul, that solarized mind, will shape progressive ideations within your mind and intuitive realizations within your mind to help you not only evolve further, but to help you to more effectively make an uplifting contribution to something beyond yourself. Awakening happiness Spirit Leaves

C

edric Red Feather once said to me, “Nothing has power over us, except what we give it.” Other people do not hold the reigns of our emotions. They have no power to give or take happiness from us, unless we let them. We have free will. Happiness is what remains when we strip off all negatives.

Beneath trauma, insult, hurt, disappointment and humiliation lies our natural state.

We were born in bliss. This often-elusive state of being is not derived from externals: it inheres as our internal legacy.

It’s hard to have a tangible perception of happiness when circumstances don’t go our way. We may find ourselves drowning in anxiety or despair. It seems, at times, that the Universe has conspired to rob us of our legacy.

On still other occasions, we may even imagine that we do not deserve lasting happiness.

Recently, I felt myself in a tailspin, moodsurfing the spiral of a dark, murky whirlpool of negative thought. I couldn’t seem to stem the tidepool as it spun faster and faster, but eventually I called out to my Higher Self and guides to help bail me out. The answer they returned was that it was up to me to pull myself out. At first, I felt like, “What, are you kidding me? All I deserve is more abandonment?” Then, they invited me to see with their vision. I began viewing myself as merely a skilled actor, performing in a self-perpetuated drama.

There is a scene in the film Eat, Pray, Love wherein a supplicant at an Indian ashram instructs the protagonist, a spiritual neophyte, that our thoughts are the only things we can control. I seized that idea and admitted to myself that, while the force of my emotions seemed real enough, the thoughts that triggered them were under my exclusive direction. Put simply, I was the only barrier to my own happiness. By meditating, praying for higher guidance, and redirecting my thoughts, I raised my vibrational frequency and got out of my own way. Great peace and happiness were instantly restored.

Before the perception of separation, we were one with the Creative Intelligence that runs the Universe, the Great Spirit, God, the Great Mystery. We were unconditional light and love. In the polarized illusory world where we currently reside, happiness is something we have somehow “lost” and seek to “regain.” The truth is, the happy place is already ours: all we need do is recognize it, embrace it, and magnify it.

Loving intentions, loving thoughts, loving acts — these raise our vibrational level, returning us to a frequency that matches

the one we brought with us to this human plane. Sometimes a thoughtful response from a friend lifts us from the low side of the road. Oftentimes, redirecting our attention to another’s needs — helping someone else out of a dark place — is just the remedy for our soul’s dark night.

Being in nature is an antidote to despair.

There’s nothing like a tall topiary of dark pines to console the disconsolate. A sloping strip of green lawn covered in wildflowers uplifts better than inspirational phrases. We might see waving in otherwise hot, languid air currents a host of yellow daisies, baby’s white breath, orange poppies and lavender periwinkles. Flowers offer unconditional beauty. Flowers are visual correlatives of the state of happiness. They don’t have to think about it; they just lift their faces to the sun, radiating energy and color.

We should not panic when we plunge into deep sadness. Through daily meditation, we can cultivate a quiet mind and a loving, peaceful heart. There are so many distractors from our natural state. We tend to blame negative states on events or other people.

Instead, we can recognize that excavating our deepest, darkest emotions reminds us of our fragility. This, in turn, puts us in parity with others who suffer, allowing us to hone our propensity for compassion.

In the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu instructs that the master uses everything and wastes nothing. It is the dark nights of the soul that ultimately highlight the beauty and luminosity of an awakened life. A

few weeks ago I was doing a contemplation on the highest aspect of God that we can know. I tried to go to the consciousness beyond all time and space, beyond the billions of galaxies, beyond what we can imagine. And I got the answer: “All you can know of me is that I Am Joy.” Then it hit me. That is what all living beings are looking for — for a turtle bathing in the sun on a log, for people having sex or dancing or singing. Why do people take drugs? It gives them joy, however fleeting.

In essence, we need to find how to meet our needs for joy and happiness without relying on external things or people. We want a continuous flow of happiness, and the outer world is subject to change and cannot always be relied upon to provide that.

What sparks our joy? For some, daily meditation may be the key; mindfulness walking may be better for another. Chanting mantras can help still the outer mind and direct it to the heart.

Praise of God or singing to the Divine is a great way to have that figure eight flow with that Source of all joy. Sometimes I go to local kirtans to experience Eastern devotional singing and be a part of an entire audience that is in a state of ecstatic bliss.

There is a yin-yang flow to life. You can’t always maintain an intense state of being blissfully happy, perhaps not until you are enlightened. During down times, keep to your spiritual sadhana or practice, going in full faith that the feelings of joy will again return.

I work a lot with patients with depression or anxiety, and often I find that there are old traumas lodged in the brain.

People are seeing the world through the lenses of the old patterns. Healing methods or psychotherapy can work on those levels.

I often use perspective to constantly keep aware of that feeling of awe at the miracle of life. We are on this sphere floating in space and it is full of amazing life forms that we haven’t found anywhere else in the universe. Be grateful for that. Be amazed. Be in awe. Everything we can see or touch was once an exploded star billions of years ago. That cell phone in your hand was once stardust, as well as your neurons in your brain or the gold in your ring.

So don’t take life too seriously. It is a dream world, quite illusory and temporary — and only the joy is real. In India, they say God is Sat Chit Ananda: eternal knowledge and bliss. experience. Each experience has brought you to who you are in this moment of time.

What you are being asked to do within your current experience in life is to feel the emotions that are coming up from what is happening in your life.

Everything in your current life is simply a mirror of that which is inside you. It is also mirroring that which you believe your self to be. You are not a victim in your life. So you need to actively work with each experience by being willing to feel the depth of the emotion that comes up from the experience in front of you. Then, as you begin to claim and meet your vulnerability within you, the situation in your life can change.

Remember: you need to consciously claim your creation.

Claiming responsibility moves you away from being a victim and aligns you into your power. Meet each aspect of your creation, whatever it happens to be, and feel that which is arising in your own heart. Hold your human element with love and compassion and move away from the self-judgment, simply witness yourself in the action of life. This is the recipe for living.

Mother Mary Another beautiful aspect of the Holy Vine component is Mother Mary’s essence. She is here within the weave to assist you in being able to open into the depth of your own sacred heart for your self-resurrection. It is prophesied for this time on your Earth plane that the Christ energy and Mother Mary will be present for you in this time of your evolutionary self-realization process.

They have returned to the Earth plane ready to play a new role with each one of you. This is their next step of commitment for all of humanity, but most importantly for you.

The Earth itself is being shifted dimensionally on another level through the Holy Vine weave.

Open to the picture of your entire physical planet being encased in a fluid membrane of an expanded light weave. This is what is forming during this month, and there will be a full

membrane of fluid light birthed completely around the planet by the end of September.

The energetic process created from the membrane will strongly impact the natural forces on the planet through a higher stabilized frequency. This is created through your planet being encased by the membrane. The oceans will be going through a strong metamorphic process of energetic change, creating a shift in the currents.

The animal and plant life will also go through adjustments through the changing frequency. These changes are necessary to the overall benefit of your planet.

There will be an expanded potential of connection made possible for you with the natural forces through these changes.

You will emerge stronger as you are enabled to align with a merging of consciousness with the plant life, the rocks and waterways.

Expanded communication The frequency held within this membrane is going to allow a more complete communication within the Spiritual realms and your entire resident Universal community. There will be new openings that allow some of you to begin an extended telepathic communion with your resident Universal life force groups.

This, of course, includes the Galactic community and us, the Pleiadians.

There is going to be a revolutionary step opening up within you towards the end of September that will create a further activation within your pineal gland.

Seals will be removed that have been in place for lifetimes. These seals have kept you in a restricted and limited expression of your selves and have prevented any indepth communication within your resident Universe. This has been in place in order for you to play out your full experience of the illusion of separation in your life. This restricting is ending.

Know that during this second transitional phase on your planet the Galactic council will be fully supervising your process. This means that the fluid membrane in place around the Earth is designed to act as a supportive integrative tool for those of you embarking in the telepathic

communion within the full Universal community.

You will find a natural empowerment emerging within yourself as you consciously choose this communion path with your neighbors. As you choose to move forward and utilize some of these abilities, you activate a level of your power. Don’t be afraid of the word “power.” This word has been misused in the past on your planet. True power is being fluid, being vulnerable and being wholly within your Heart.

Protected communion No negative forces will be allowed entry within this protected communion setting between you and beings from your resident Universe. This is an essential component to allow each one of you who feel called to be able to move forward freely on your destiny path, moving into different states of reconnection. Many of you carry as part of your destiny significant and necessary reconnections within your resident Universe.

All of humanity on Earth originated off planet. Your true family of origin is off planet.

Some of you will have a strong calling to begin or continue your journey of reconnection to your roots. With the support of this newly anchored membrane you will be able to accelerate into a further aspect of your self-realization. Through this reconnection, you can enter into a flow aligning into an essential part of your enlightenment process.

Heart connection We come back full circle right now to the importance of your heart connection. Your heart connection leads you home.

There is nothing more essential than developing your relationship through your own heart, which takes you home to Self.

Your own heart embodies the love that heals the wounds of your human self. You have been searching for this love during your entire journey in this lifetime. Now is time to fully engage with your heart and come home to your Self. This is your true heart’s desire.

You are the love. “You are who you have been waiting for.”

Place both palms of your hands onto your chest.

2. Feel the warmth the pressure of your hands on the body, feel your heart.

3. Take a conscious breath into your heart. Claim your heart by bringing your awareness into the area of your heart.

4. Now bring in the sound, ASTAHN. Feed this sound into your heart, breathe and let go into your heart.

Do this every morning for 5 minutes to build on your multidimensional pathway home.
