Resolutions for an empath’s New Year Spirit Leaves

by Janet Michele Red Feather My way is Ghost. It’s a spiritual way of life I learned with guidance from the Mandan Turtle Priest, Cedric Red Feather, and the late Sam Little Owl. We have an affinity with the Great Spirit, and with all of creation. It is the Spirits we learn from, rather than the human beings. It is a beautiful path of free will, love and compassion not bound by rules, laws or commitments.

The thought of making New Year’s resolutions sounds, therefore, too akin to making pledges. I shall, instead, offer a clear light tube from the present self to the Higher Self.

In my present empathic state, I steer clear of ordinary thinking. This helps preserve clarity of vision and telepathic communication. It’s easier to remain open when unconstrained by thought barriers derived from others. Strangely, some react with anger when we fail to go along with their program. To retain our Divine purpose, however, we must be ourselves at all times. Others will demand of us an expected laundry list of resolutions: lose 25 pounds, exercise more, shop less, etc.

Instead, why not amass a list more ethereal in quality?

Let us determine that, for this splendid new beginning we call 2016, we bring into existence happy, fulfilling lives. You will have your own objectives. Here is a snapshot of me in 2016, situated within my Higher Self: I am productive, I am talented, I am beautiful, I am strong, I am creative, I am wise, I am compassionate.

Instead of Seven Deadly Sins, I have Seven Splendid Virtues: Productivity: I’m not giving into it,  this materialistic notion that meditation, dreaming, and reflecting are without value.

They constitute the first step, part and parcel of the creative process. I will indulge my meditations, dreams and thoughts until they produce beautiful essays, cards, and works of art.

Talent: My abilities are what make  me unique, and I will share them gratefully with others. My life has meaning when what I excel at encourages others to develop talents within themselves. It’s not about me — about what attention I can garner. I receive immeasurable joy in helping others realize themselves fully.

Beauty: All my life, I have fallen short  in the critical eye of others. The Great Spirit made me, and the Great Spirit is a beautiful White Light of Pure Love. I

emanate from that same Light, so I will end the marathon of self-rebuke, hold my head high and walk tall in Spirit.

Strength: I will not be defeated by the  negative intentions of others. The least shadow fills me with the desire to bring in more Light. I feel only sadness for them that they go out in the world with an intention to harm instead of an intention to heal. I bless and release them to their Highest Good, but I do not dwell on the low side of the road with them.

Creativity: All of my energies will  go to repurposing what I already have, being grateful for the abundance already here, and coming up with ideas for the prosperity that is coming. It’s good to be prepared so nothing is wasted.

Wisdom: True wisdom is like dew on  petals. We see glimmers of it. We shiver, aware of the presence of the Holy Ones, bestowing insight as we look out at the world’s true essence. Without self, without ego, without mind, without control or limitation, there is an opening into which wisdom may quietly enter.

Compassion: The single most impor  tant gift we have to give to other beings is compassion. It is the heart’s healing force, a positive, loving emanation transcendent of differences or distinctions. The world is a much more tender and endurable landscape with compassionate people in it.

So there it is: my soul’s energetic road map for 2016. I will make colorfully designed cards bearing these concepts for my altar. There are so many negative labels out there our minds could latch onto and obsess over. Why can’t we just as easily glom onto and rejoice in the positive ones?

Begin the New Year with small, simple steps to better eating Food First

by Nutrition Julie The New Year is a great time to assess where you are at in your life. It’s a time to look at what seems to be working and to acknowledge what may not be working so well. It offers an opportunity to expand, grow, stretch and move more into the life and person you desire to be.

It is very tempting to hit January with full steam towards all sorts of new goals and aspirations, but all too often we try to change too many things at once instead of honoring the personal journey we are on.

As a Holistic Health Coach and Nutrition Educator, I believe in the power of making smaller, consistent shifts that result in big changes over time. When looking at your overall health it is good to consider a variety of factors such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, spiritual practice, relationships, job satisfaction and, in general, where you are at and where you would like to be.

I am all about food first and believe that what you put in your mouth daily greatly affects all the other areas of your life. I teach from the perspective of balance and believe that if we give our body the nutrients it needs, it will keep us free of cravings, mood swings, hormonal issues, illness and disease that come from imbalance.

So how do we achieve this balance in a world that is constantly in motion and where food choices abound? It can be difficult! It seems that every time we turn around, there is a new diet trend or fad that everyone seems to be embracing.

Instead of trying the latest fads, diets or counting calories or points, I encourage my clients to eat whole, real foods and to tap into their inner wisdom and intuition to really assess how different foods make them feel.

I’m a plant-based, eat local, ditch the packaged and processed kind of gal. I am also a busy business owner and mother of five who understands that good food options need to be quick, tasty, nutritious and pass for your more picky family members. I am here to support your health journey.

Start here with a comforting, warm, simple soup recipe that your body will love after all the holiday over-indulgences.

Pair with a side of your favorite greens. Happy 2016!

Butternut Apple Honey Soup

Heat 1 T olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add 2 diced shallots, cook 3 minutes. Add 5 cups vegetable broth, 1 diced medium butternut squash, 2 diced Granny Smith apples, 1 T minced ginger, 2 tsp dried sage, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and salt to taste, simmer 30 minutes. Stir in 2 T honey. Pour soup into a blender and puree.

You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your blender. Garnish with toasted walnuts. This soup is super easy, super quick and super healing!

The Tipping Point—Why it’s Important to Tune Back in to Politics

by Lynn Woodland I’m a spiritual teacher, not a political nerd. I generally keep my politics separate from my spiritual teachings — until I see the two colliding so dramatically that I can’t help but comment. I’m also feeling compelled to speak out because of how many people in my spiritual circle, when asked their thoughts on political turns of events, respond that they don’t pay attention to politics.

I understand it. For those of us intent on meditating into a peaceful state, politics is a rough and crude vibration. For those of us who have turned to spirituality as a balm for our heightened sensitivities to the world around us, politics can be the worst of allergens. And some of us have simply given up because we don’t see politics changing anything. For all of you who have tuned out of politics for one reason or another, this is the time to tune back in — and here’s why.

People from radically different backgrounds and for different reasons seem to agree that something monumental is about to happen and perhaps is already happening.

Many economists are predicting an extreme global economic crash this coming year — bigger than in 2008. Historian and political commentator Thom Hartmann wrote a whole book about this next year, The Crash of 2016, putting together the pieces of why this kind of crash is very possible. Storms, droughts, fires and other environmental incidents are growing more extreme and environmentalists are becoming increasingly dire in their predictions for the very near future. quality of life

But not all predictions are dire. Well-known economist and futurist Jeremy Rifkin speculates that the increasing availability of free stuff enabled by the internet is quickly leading to an era of nearly free goods and services that will eclipse capitalism, resulting in heightened quality of life for masses of people. Many metaphysical seers are calling this year a powerful turning point in humanity’s evolution, suggesting that we’ve collectively reached a tipping point where there are now enough of us aligned with a high vibration of love to tip the planet in a new, better direction.

We live in the midst of a paradigm change. The old order is made up of hierarchical power structures where small groups at the top control — and often exploit — 10 www.edgemagazine.net

everyone else. The emerging, new order is an egalitarian form of empowerment, made up of connected communities, both local and global, working cooperatively for the benefit of all. This is no futuristic utopian fantasy; it’s already happening in countless contexts as a result of the heightened connectivity afforded by the internet and the sheer numbers of us who are now connected.

Think, for example, of the huge amounts of information available to us through the internet. Organizing infrastructures such as Google and Wikipedia have put libraries full of knowledge literally in the palm of anyone with a smart phone. This instant access to information, that was impossible just short decades ago, is created by countless individuals contributing small bits of information into various organizing and delivery infrastructures.

There are now endless examples of this kind of resource sharing. It gutted established music and publishing industries as individuals became able to take their work directly to the public without any intermediary. Entrepreneur and best-selling author Lisa Gansky describes in her book, The Mesh—Why the Future of Business is Sharing, how cooperative resource-sharing is the hot new business model.

This is the emerging new order. It’s one where individuals are empowered beyond anything we’ve previously known through small efforts contributed by masses of us into an organizing infrastructure. It’s win/ win; it’s easy; it’s the virtually limitless power of all of us together. Thomas W. Malone, of MIT, established the Center for Collective Intelligence to study this new phenomenon, suggesting that the “hive mind” of millions of people and millions of computers all connected to one another just might be able

to “act more intelligently than any individual, group or computer has ever done before” and solve such collective problems as climate change. This new model of collective power is already replacing many hierarchical power structures that not so long ago seemed inevitable — and it’s already begun to change us.

This brings us to the upcoming election.

In spite of many fast, heady changes coming via our quickly evolving technology, the old, hierarchical power structures are still alive and well — perhaps stronger than ever in a last-gasp struggle for control. We see it playing out with a vengeance in our political system.

Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling in 2010 (in the “Citizens United” case) corporations may now pour an unlimited amount of money into elections. This, combined with high public apathy and low voter turn-out, means elections can easily be bought by the highest bidder. With less than a 40 percent turnout, is it any wonder that in 2012 we saw a wave of ultraconservative Tea Party candidates elected who were heavily funded by billionaires? They vote for billionaire interests while speaking to the sensibilities of easily mobilized fringe groups: anti-gay, anti-brown, anti-immigrant, anti-abortion, etc. Many of these candidates were voted in by as little as 18 or 19 percent of eligible voters. old order power

We are surely at a cusp where the bad is getting worse while the wave to rise above it is getting stronger, and this dynamic is clearly evident in the scramble toward the 2016 election. Perfectly representing the extreme of old-order power is Donald Trump, telling us that he will fix everything and will run the country as an effective CEO, just as he has run his companies. He claims not to be bought because he can fund himself — in other words, he is at the very top of the hierarchical power chain.

Of course, a CEO is basically a dictator who requires obedience from all beneath him, and while efficiency is of the highest priority, the beneficiaries of this efficiency are the small leader class, not the large employee class.

Then there’s Ben Carson, with a quiet, hypnotic voice that makes voter suppression laws sound reasonable because, as he puts it, voting should only be “done by the appropriate people.” He doesn’t rouse us or promise to take care of us; he just lulls us into lethargy and sleep.

On the Democratic side, one of the two front runners is Hillary Clinton who,

though still significantly funded by old-order, big-business money, is promising to fight for many populist causes. As an experienced insider, she makes an excellent case for being the one best able to do battle with the old-order powers that have created political deadlock throughout Obama’s presidency. She is the seasoned, democratic pit bull ready to fight hard within a stagnant system for realistic results.

In contrast, Bernie Sanders refuses big industry money and is funded largely by small, individual donations and labor union support. More significantly, Sanders has made it clear that the power to change doesn’t reside in him — it’s in all of us together. In the first democratic debate, he was the only candidate who never once used the word “I” in his opening introduction. Even when speaking of his own campaign, he tends to say “we.”

He is calling for a movement, a “revolution,” driven by everyone stepping up together.

Bernie Sanders isn’t a brash and entertaining reality TV star like Donald Trump, nor the handsome, charismatic “rock star” that Barack Obama was eight years ago. He’s not the polished and high-powered Hillary Clinton ready to break the gender barrier as our first woman president. He’s just another old, white guy. In fact, he’s known for being rumpled, curmudgeonly and none too charming. So what does he have that’s drawing the crowds, especially younger people?

Perhaps it’s that he’s speaking to something that has already collectively shifted within us.

Perhaps he is asking us to tap a power source that we’ve already begun to take for granted in other contexts: the power of all of us together. Maybe it’s because he’s offering a path so simple that it requires nothing more than large numbers of us making tiny contributions; or because his message — that we can accomplish any magnitude of change together — is the purest representation among the current presidential hopefuls of the new order. And because, unlike 2008, now we’ve reached the Tipping Point.

The revolution that Sanders describes doesn’t require a pit bull, a rock star or an authoritarian TV personality telling us what to do. Neither does it require marching in the street.

It doesn’t even ask us to fundamentally change our sensibilities to embrace a radically un-American socialist agenda (Sanders’ idea of democratic socialism isn’t much different from FDR’s). What’s more, the infrastructure for this revolution is already in place — it’s voting, and not just once for a president, then tuning out for another four years. It’s time to start paying attention, not to how bad everything is but to how open the possibilities are.

Trump, Carson, Clinton, Sanders. If we take the players out of the equation, these four might well represent the bigger choices for life we have in this Tipping Point era of monumental change. Some of us will surrender our power altogether in a Stockholm syndrome kind of attachment to the very structures that keep us entrapped.

Some of us will sink into apathy and sleep. Some of us will fight, even though the odds seem overwhelmingly against us, because it’s better than giving up. Others of us will step into a new paradigm where change can happen quickly and without fighting, simply by showing up together.

We’re in unprecedented times environmentally, economically, technologically and spiritually. At this Tipping Point, change will come whether we’re ready for it or not. It will come with a crash while we’re sleeping, or one hardfought crumb at a time. It will be wrenching if we try to cling to what used to be.

But, just possibly, it will come with ease and grace as we all choose it together. And you?

2016: A moment in time A Pleiadian Message

by Christine Day Beloved ones, we greet you. We welcome you into the newly expanded energies of the year 2016. At the very moment of the New Year, an energetic shift took place. A series of strong destiny lines came into form on your planet, these destiny lines hosted strong forces of light that redefined the energies on planet earth. These destiny lines opened up in a moment, like buds of a flower opening to the sun, and contained the understandings of Truth of your transformational time.

Truth was finally realized, anchored on your planet making it possible to be revealed to those of you who are ready.

This is your time for your own revelation.

The wheel turns, and the winds of change flow unchecked onto the earth, opening up a series of multi-dimensional grids on your earth plane. This year heralds in a predestined turning point of a self-resurrection within your consciousness, so that you can emerge within a new level of you.

This is a destiny moment that was set in motion before you entered this earth plane, and agreed upon by you. With this change set in motion at the time of the New Year, you are now simply moving to meet this destiny moment within your self. We call this entire year simply a “moment in time,” for that is what it is in reality, a multi-dimensional moment of direct experience for all of you who have been Seekers on your path.

You are being called by your destiny, in quest of an aspect of your self that has been hidden from you until now. You have sensed, known that there is a defined purity for you to experience, to discover within you. Now is your “moment!”

Back to your flow

With the new energies coming onto the planet in this New Year, you will be drawn by

an invisible current, an invisible thread and be moved back to your flow. This flow will realign you back to true light source. This is “a happening” moment, a sacred reunion of your self.

Through this invisible current you are being called by your own individual light frequency of divine pure source. You will be returned back to a place where you have always existed, on a multi-dimensional level.

Moved back, aligned to a transformational sacred reunion.

There is much to be discovered and unveiled by you during this aspect of your journey. Many of you will come into a new understanding of who you are within the sacred whole of the Collective Consciousness.

You will come to experience that aspect of you that is sacred. This sacred aspect has been waiting for you to remember, in order for an expanded collective experience to take place within you.

Your human aspect needs this sacred reconnection to take place now. A deep natural healing can take place through this reconnection enabling the human part of you to be able to function more easily than ever before on this earth plane. For the love contained within your sacred reconnections will deeply touch and heal your own human element. Through this metamorphosis there is a powerful opportunity for a physical renewal to take place within the cells of your own body.

Your frequency

You will be able to live through a conscious, awakened state in your day-to-day life; this will bring in many different elements and changes to how you live on this earth plane.

Your frequency of light that you carry in this awakened state will help to transform your earth plane. Through this light you carry a synergy of the God consciousness state will automatically support all human beings.

You will emanate this light consciousness outwards, as part of your natural state, as you move through your world. Your light frequency will bring transformation in the form of awakening to many, so that they, in turn, will begin to align and to follow their own unique current of flow.

This is “a moment” of mass awakening for those of you who have been seekers. It is an essential time for each one of you to let go and simply Be. You are moving into a time of “not knowing” what is going on. This is the time to let go, no matter what, and not try to make sense of anything. Most importantly, you need to let go of the human ego need to understand what is happening. You may be thinking, well I have already been in this place of “not knowing” and letting go!

You have to come to a place in your journey, a next step, of knowing that you will not understand your process. This transformational step will take you beyond where you have been up to this point. A deeper “letting go” is required of you. You will be moved into a very different place of experience that is totally unfamiliar to you from your point of view.

Steps forward

Many of you have taken steps forward on your journey and simply trusted. You have taken steps that have not made logical sense in a 3rd dimensional world, and now you are being asked to make a deeper commitment to yourself at this time.

This journey is all about you holding your own integral place within the Universal Consciousness. Your own central place originates within your heart space. Everything can arise within your heart space doorway. This doorway through the heart is your entrance into your Home space that holds your unlimited potential of Self. That is the only focus right now. You and your heart are the sacred connection to your own multi-dimension-

ality. This sacred connection through your heart is your key to unlocking the access to your flow, to your unlimited divine light source consciousness, your higher self.

With this tremendous energetic shift of the New Year, the cells of your heart have undergone a multi-dimensional transformation to enable you to move in a new dynamic relationship with Self. A dawning of light is taking place within each heart cell. We liken it to a sunrise taking place within each individual cell. The combined frequency of this rising light is birthing your own unique divine pure source energy through your cells. This is creating a natural pathway of flow to emerge for you, opening up an opportunity for you to align to your own flowing force of light.

Next destiny step

We are here with you at this new juncture on your road to support you in this next destiny step. The energies are in place within your heart cells and also within the Universe to align you once more back to your home space. Many different dimensional settings are in place to support your individual journey home. Everything is set for you to follow your flowing current, that invisible thread that holds your unique frequency setting.

There will be a different process for each one of you, a unique path of experience that is necessary. It is important to simply follow your own path, not looking back or sideways or forward. Take one step at a time within the moment, within each experience, as it presents itself to you and allow the sacred movement to draw you into your own current.

At times nothing will be familiar to you, at these times you need to breathe, connect to your heart and let go. Be still and actively wait for the next door to open.

Many opportunities will be revealed to you, many of these will be in the form of multi-dimensional connections that are off planet. Some of these new connections are really reconnections, pre-destined and very

important for you at this time.

Your rebirthing

These reconnections will give you access into the Higher Realms that will support you in your rebirthing process. You may find that the Angelic realms, the Galactic community and the Spiritual realms will be involved in your rebirthing process. They will support you in this redefinition of yourself as you transition through your transformation.

Remember: you are not separate from any of these individual light realms of consciousness. Each one of you is an aspect of the God Consciousness. We all hold that aspect within us. This is our sacred connection to you.

We want to remind you that we have all returned back to the collective God Consciousness. Now it is time for you to take your place. We liken this process to a huge ocean of light and each one of you is a single, unique divine drop of that ocean. You each hold an aspect of this sacred design. As you return home through your current of flow, we all become more defined within a multi-dimensional design. The whole collective God Consciousness becomes complete.

This was always going to be the outcome, to bring this sacred design to completion and you playing an essential role though your returning.

You hold the full essence of this plan within your heart. You will remember. You are remembering.

Know that you only have to deeply desire through your heart to move towards this opportunity that is in front of you. There only needs to be the heart’s desire to deeply commit to your self, to be in the flow, and then just let go.

We want to acknowledge the perfect sacred timing of this moment. Understand this is a timeless moment for all of us to unfold together within the sacred collective energy. This has always been the design.

The following is the activation process: Claim your heart: Bring your hand to your heart space.

Bring your awareness to the connection of your hand on your heart. Breathe. Use the Conscious breath like a soft wind, into your heart connection. Note: The Conscious Breath is done by breathing in and out of the mouth. As you breathe into your heart you claim your heart. Each breath claims your connection to your heart. Do not rush this part of the process!

Claim your heart with your sound: Bring forward this sound, AE EESTAH. Bring your sound into your heart.

This sound activates a process within the heart cells and the multi-dimensional home space within your heart, aligning you to your flow. As you make the sound, feel the sound moving through you. Let yourself become the sound. This is your claim on your heart/home space. This is you creating your own sacred call of your destiny.

Now use the sound, AE…. bring this aspect of the  sound into the opening and let go. As many times until it feels complete.

You are all about empowering individuals.

Let’s begin by talking about purpose. What misconceptions do people have about their purpose and why are so many people asking you about their purpose right now?

Jessica Valor: As a medium and someone

who works with the Spirit guides and Ascended Masters, I know that the Earth is in a time of Ascension where we are all moving forward together into a new dimension of light. The way that we live is all reflected in energy. Energy is everything.

So, we want to raise our vibration so that we can go through that Ascension process seamlessly in a way that feels good and feels safe for everyone.

In our real world, the day-to-day, that is all reflected in why we came to the planet.

a purpose, for a Divine reason, and this is reflected in our world today in our work, in our purpose, what we do to be of service to ourselves and others. That always goes back to what brings me the most joy.

Everybody we talk to wants to help heal the world — and everyone wants to help heal themselves in the world. Maybe you just don’t know yet what that looks like.

During the past two years as a medium, everyone has asked for some guidance or a quantum healing as to, “What is my purpose?

How do I move any blocks in my way to fulfill my purpose? And how do I turn that into a business and make money?” Money is how we sustain ourselves to live on this planet at this time. It is an energy exchange.

So it really is all about the spirituality and the fundamental way in which we live today. Spirituality is all about unconditional love. Why do you go to work? You go to work because you love yourself and you love your family and your friends and because you want to contribute to yourself and the world. This is a time of ascending our energy and evolving our soul, and our purpose is how we achieve our goals in the ways that we want this.

Colette Belisle: One misconception people sometimes have about their purpose, and the reason it feels so overwhelming for them, is they think their purpose has to be huge. They think that their purpose has to be going out to save the world.

As Jess was saying, it’s really about finding the way that we can contribute and share

our gifts in society in order to help and inspire others. That can be simply on a family level or on a community level — and there is a ripple effect that one creates, and that ripple effect is really what changes the world.

Many small business owners in the holistic and metaphysical arenas are struggling to make ends meet financially. What are your perspectives on why this is so and what shift may be called for in this community?

Jessica: My number one key related to that

is empowerment — and this involves two different things.

For many, many, many lifetimes, people were crucified for using their light and speaking the Truth. I work with a lot of people through past life regression and quantum healing to release all blocks and fears they may still be holding onto through all lifetimes and dimensions, all the way back to the beginning of time. It all boils down to this, “Am I safe to speak my purpose and be in my power?” The key is to feel safe and to be empowered in expressing your individual gifts with the world.

The other aspect relates to the ego, which tells you that you’re not good enough.

Who do you think you are to use your voice? People stuck in the ego are in the comparison game versus the collaboration game. When you’re there, you’re separating yourself from others. You don’t believe that we’re all connected, and that feels really bad for people. Every human being needs support and validation. Every single one of

us is part of the Oneness.

Colette and I support our business clients and witness their transformation in this spiritual atmosphere. The magic happens when they start collaborating and they let go of those fears and they get out of comparing themselves with others. We watch them grow exponentially and really achieve the goals that are important for them when they are aligned with their purpose and priority.

Unfortunately, many people come to us feeling that they’re not supported. They haven’t invested in themselves or found the right support system or gained information to actually grow their business in that way.

Part of the validation piece is an element of business strategy. You need to have real strategic business solutions and plans for your business so you know how to move forward.

A lot of people who have spiritually based businesses do not have those resources and tools or they don’t know how to get them.

Colette: Most of these people that we’re seeing in that (holistic and metaphysical) arena started their businesses because they had a passion or a purpose, not because they studied business. Their ultimate goal is to serve others.

Some of the more traditional consulting services, so to speak, are targeting larger businesses, and so these larger firms aren’t accessible to the local entrepreneur, especially the soulpreneur. Traditional consulting focuses only on money and growing the business, not on the actual impact the business has on people’s lives. At the end of the day, yes, money is important, but the clients we work with ultimately are in it for the impact. They’re in it to serve others.

That’s why we created Partner Together.

We saw that our model of helping businesses serve others while thriving financially didn’t exist out there in a way that was accessible.

Nobody was speaking to their underlying desires and priorities — while helping them better understand the technology that is available. It’s essential today to understand the new business tools and the way technology is moving in order to grow your business.

Two other things came to mind as Jess was speaking. One relates to this shift in the paradigm of working for money and then doing your purpose on the side, usually in the form of non-profit or volunteer work.

We’re now moving to more of a spectrum where it’s not just non-profit profit. We’re moving into the area of social enterprise and service for the greater good.

But for us to step into that as a full-time job, we need to be paid for that. We need that exchange of energy so that we can continue to serve. The issues relate to those underlying limiting beliefs that we were raised with, that if you are doing good in the world you should not be paid for it,

that you should be doing this just out of the goodness of your heart.

So shifting that energy around our perception of money is really important, and it’s a challenge for those of us who are stepping into a place where we’re focusing on service.

The other issue relates to value. Many people are still learning — especially in the holistic community — how to communicate their value to people who don’t yet have the level of knowledge that they have. For example, you may have learned Reiki and you know it’s value, but Reiki’s value is not yet common knowledge in the greater community. The key is learning how to communicate that in a way that expands your market instead of contracts your market.

Honestly, this is a learned skill and that’s part of business. Jess and I are seeing that as our clients are able to step into that place of being able to communicate their message on a broader level, they’re able to grow their business far more quickly. It’s not so much about the modality; it’s more about the results and the value.

From an individual standpoint, how do you know when you are on purpose? Is there a shift in which you intuitively know that you’re doing what you’re intended to be doing?

Jessica: Yes, absolutely. I feel that this shift,

this kind of revolution, happens in people.

It happens a lot when Colette and I are in conversation with people and we are engaging with them. It is the result of Spirit coming through as I am channeling with the Masters and their Spirit guides and asking that particular soulpreneur questions.

I can’t tell you your purpose. You have to come forward and speak your Truth. We can support you with Spirit and share our knowledge and resources with you so you can state your purpose out loud. We witness this happening every day. People declare, “I’m a flower healing expert.” Or “I’m A Course in Miracles teacher.” Like, yes, that’s it! And we watch them light up.

Seriously, there’s nothing better in the world than watching people become empowered in who they are and what they came here to do. It brings tears to my eyes, because I am so happy. We really live to love these people and lift them up. We do it because we are so excited to watch people bring their vision to life. It’s so cool to watch that happen.

It’s difficult to come to that place on your own because you need validation and love and support, and assistance in understanding that none of us is separate from anyone else. This is a process of unfolding who you are and really feeling safe in that space to come out of your shell and say, “This is who I am. This is my purpose. This is what I came here to do, and I’m ready to go put that in the world and turn it into a thriving business.”

Colette: On a personal level, when you

finally tune into that purpose and it’s really clear, you have no doubts. Just as I have no doubts that in some form, I will continue to empower people to step into their purpose and make that their life’s work for the rest of my life.

I know that I would do that even if someone said to me, “Colette, you can never be paid a dollar for this. You’re going to have to get a full-time job.” I would still do it on the side, because I wouldn’t feel fulfillment in life if I went through the rest of my life and never did it again. This is something I can do every day, all day, and it continually lights me up. I don’t get sick of it.

When you finally step into that and get clarity around what that is, it feels like a no-brainer. Once you become aware of it, you just feel it so deep in your intuition and in your soul that it’s just, “Well, of course this is it.”

Doesn’t fear keep people from not stepping through that door and moving that direction?

Jessica: Yes, fear is the elephant in the

room. So I always tell people, “That elephant is going to be with you for your life, okay?

The fear isn’t going to go anywhere. Fear is your best friend, so shift your perspective about fear and ego.” I say embrace your ego.

Embrace your fear. Touch your elephant every morning or whenever it is looking at you and saying something.

You love elephants, right? Elephants are so cute, and they are so sweet, but they’re big, right? You can’t ignore them. So, you just pet your elephant and you take its little nose and you walk along together and you say, “Okay fear, okay elephant, what is it that you need me to see? Show me what I need to see and tell me what I need to hear so that I may learn from this fear in this moment today so that it may fuel my positive momentum inside of my divine purpose and my highest vibration so I may serve myself and the world. Please show me. Please share. Thank you so much, and I love you.”

That is how I tell people to face their fear every day — to embrace and walk with it.

Don’t let it drive you. Walk beside it.

You talk in your business literature about leading with your light. What does that mean?

Jessica: We’re in a time that’s all about

leading with your light. That’s a leadership movement that evolved as Colette and I have started collaborating. We’ve moved in this new paradigm where we’re no longer lightworkers. We’re light leaders. We’re focused on supporting people to understand their Divine genius and their light so that they can be light leaders in the world today.

Colette: A light leader is someone who steps into their purpose. It’s not to say they’re fearless, but they don’t let their fear drive them  see

— and they are sharing that message with the world. And in that process, they are inspiring others to step into their message, too.

You don’t have to be like Jess and me, out there on a stage or teaching people. All it takes is stepping into what you were meant to do, and that gives others permission to do the same. That creates a ripple effect in which we go out into the world looking at obstacles as opportunities. What some people might call obstacles are really opportunities for me to get even more clear on my message and my purpose — and share that with others and increase the vibration and expand the love that is in the world.

When we’re making money by doing our life’s work, what we’re doing is showing people that service is valuable, that by helping others we can help ourselves. It always comes back to us.

What we want to encourage people to do with this movement is to do exactly what Jess said, to step into that, to feel empowered and know that they can lead with their light and put more love in the world and create that ripple effect together. It’s not just one drop. Together, we’re seriously shifting the ocean.

How did Empower Your Vision Academy evolve and what pieces did each of you bring to the business?

Jessica: Colette and I had a common

thread. We worked with a similar designer and that’s how we met. I was talking to the designer one day and he said, “I think you’d really resonate with this girl, Colette.

I feel like you’re supposed to connect with her.” I looked her up on Facebook and looked at her website and, while we work in very different avenues, we shared a similar vision. So, we met twice for coffee and were instantly fond of each other.

I had a company that I left where I was the Vice President and grew it into the millions.

I have a very strong business background, but that’s not really my main focus. I want to support my clients. I love my clients.

So one day I was sitting at my home office trying to figure out how I was going to merge myself as a spiritual teacher and mentor and a business coach, and how I was not going to work 100 hours a week to do this. Colette happened to come over to my house that day. She was on her way back to see her family in Eau Claire, Wisc., from Minneapolis and she dropped by to chat.

I was pulling my hair out, still in my pajamas, and I was stressing about how to reconfigure my business. She was talking to me about the same kind of thing on her end. She was creating a course and wanted to run a program, but she did not want to do it all herself. So I looked at her and asked, “Do you want to partner?” And, she’s like, “Yeah, I do.”

So we got together and, God bless her, 18 www.edgemagazine.net

she’s the most brilliant woman. I’m so blessed every day. We worked really hard.

We created an amazing program, and our first launch was very successful, which is amazing, since we’ve only been working together since July and August.

In those few months we’ve done a lot.

With Spirit and our own endeavor, it’s all just blossomed and evolved into this “Lead with your Light” movement and its Empowered Your Vision Academy. In two months’ time, our clients have grown immeasurably. It’s unbelievable where they started and where they are now. The feedback is phenomenal.

They tell us, “I feel so empowered and I know I’m doing the right thing and I feel so good about myself and my life is amazing.”

Two months before that, they were lost, confused, scared, didn’t know what to do, where to go, or how to bring their vision forward.

When you align with your purpose and your priorities and you say yes to who you are and what you want to bring forward, the Universe says, “Here’s the door, honey. Go through it.” You’re supported because the Universe resonates with how you feel. So, we help people feel empowered and feel loved and supported so that they can receive that reverberation from the Universe to be supported in what they want to do.

Colette: I think the real reason our clients

have had so much success with this program is that we really approach it holistically.

It goes back to the fact that I have a business background, but I’m aligned with the spiritual side, and Jess’ genius is in the spiritual purpose — moving through mind blocks and limiting beliefs — but she also has a strong business background. We really understand how to piece that together and use our genius.

When I first started out working with soulpreneurs, before I met Jess, I found that I could teach people everything they needed to know about how to grow their business. But at the end of the day, if they had some sort of limiting belief about their value or weren’t comfortable being visible or had blocks around receiving money or whatever the case was, they would constantly self-sabotage or they would hit a plateau and they wouldn’t be able to move past it.

The reason we get success is because we’re really approaching it from all angles: we have the spirituality, the mindset and the actual straight-up business strategies. It’s that combination that helps our clients feel supported and confident.

What changes will individuals realize after working with you? Can you give a case study of what you’ve seen in the short amount of time you’ve been together?

Colette: I’ll give a few examples based

on what I’m able to share at this point.

We’re two months into our group course,

and after only a few weeks people were already sending us messages and telling us on Facebook how much clarity they had around their vision, how they didn’t feel overwhelmed because they actually understood what steps they needed to take, and how much more confident they felt in their messaging and that they were seeing positive shifts in getting clients.

All of them have been gaining incredible momentum, and some of them have received offers for collaborations or affiliate opportunities with bigger names. Some of them are already doing speaking events and getting clients that way. One woman has been approached by people who want to wholesale her material almost before she had a website up. It’s really about getting clear on your messaging and the marketing and who your target market is — and then removing those blocks so energetically you’re confident and open to receiving that.

Then things flow really quickly.

Jessica: Another thing that we do really well together is help people synergistically, in a multifaceted way, with bringing forward new and fresh ideas. We pass out ideas like candy, things they would never think of, and we have this way of helping people think outside of the box and elevate those ideas in a whole new way.

What final thoughts do each of you want to leave with our readers?

Colette: The big picture is just, honestly,

that you can do it. There is a way to turn your purpose into profit. It’s possible. It’s all about getting the right resources and education that you need to do that.

When you step into that, you create not only a ripple effect of change in the world, but you get to spend your life feeling fulfilled — and there is nothing greater in the world, truly, than feeling happy with what you’re doing every day. I wish that joy for everyone. Finding your purpose and following it is what this life is all about, creating joy in this world.

a spiritual perspective: care for an older pet

by Marianne Soucy This article is based on my own experiences with caring for senior and dying pets.

I take a spiritual perspective and share three things you can implement today, if you have a pet that is approaching the end of his or her life.

Feelings of fear and sadness are common or even inevitable when we have a senior or dying pet, and these feelings are often accompanied by an urge to “run away” or deny the fact that soon our beloved pet will no longer be with us.

One thing I have noticed is that if you approach the end of your pet’s life with fear and denial, it can prevent you from being truly present with your pet and making the most of the remaining time you have together. Being stuck in fearful emotions can also cause you to miss signs from your pet about what he or she needs.

What I have found most helpful is to look within and examine how we are approaching the situation.

Surrender to the present moment —  The number one practice is to become present with what is. Being in the Now may sound easy, but when you’re looking at a beloved pet whose health is failing, the pain can make this a challenging practice.

In my experience, failing to be 100 percent present during key moments or periods towards the end of a loved one’s life will invariably lead to guilt and regret.

Becoming present — reaching the place of surrendering — brings you to a state of peace that not only helps you cope, but also helps your pet. Our pets tend to be very sensitive to our state. Your state and how you approach them and their situation can affect them either positively or negatively.

A mindset shift — I have found it  helpful to remind myself that it is not really about me and what I want (or can cope with), but what is best for the animal. When we become present and reach a certain degree of peace, it will be easier for us to pick up on what signs and messages our animal friend is sending us, and accommodate them in what way is best for them, instead of looking for solutions that mainly ease our own discomfort.

Connect with the spirit of the animal —  One of the practices I find is essential to include when a pet gets old or is close to death is connecting with the spirit of the animal. I usually use Sacred Spirit Journeys (similar to shamanic journeys), but meditation or other methods can also be used. By connecting with the animal’s spirit, you can not only communicate with the animal, but also see beyond the failing body, and experience the light that they are.

Holding the vision of their light — their true essence — brings peace, and even joy, during a time that is normally painful.

That spirit connection is extremely helpful for both human and pet when

death approaches, and also after the pet has passed.

While there are many natural therapies and modalities available for your senior pet, I recommend adding the gift of your presence and peace; of listening to your pet’s needs, and holding the vision of your pet’s essence: the light that they are beyond their aging or failing body.

canine massage: touch can change YOUR dog’s life

A dog that has chewed up a couch and aggressively bites everything. A scared and submissive dog that is frightened of everything and everyone. A puppy that won’t settle. What do all of these have in common?

They were transformed by Canine Massage.

When I started taking Canine Massage classes 10 years ago, I wanted a way to connect with dogs that I trained. I have became a believer that dogs respond to touch in a profound way. I now offer Canine Massage in my business and teach people how they can massage their dogs for a deeper bond. It is so fun to see a dog change in a mere afternoon with the right techniques. The following are tips for you to give your own dog a massage and the key areas to concentrate on.

As with a human massage, you want to continue contact with your dog during the massage. To start, get in a comfortable position. In the beginning, you may be unsure and your dog maybe nervous. I would suggest 5 or 10 minutes at first, depending upon your dog’s response, then you can continue longer in the future.

Let your dog tell you where they want you to start. I usually begin at a neutral location such as the front, right shoulder. The dog 20 www.edgemagazine.net

may be placed on a blanket on the floor or for smaller dogs, I usually put a blanket on a table.

You can also just sit on the couch with the dog as you try some techniques.

You are ready to begin as you take a relaxing and cleansing breath in and out. Breath is very important and can help your dog relax as you relax.

Shoulder: With your right  hand on the chest, use your left hand to slowly, with a little pressure, brush the shoulder in a downward and gentle motion.

We are focusing our intention on helping the dog to relax. Do this for a few minutes and watch your dog’s eyes soften and relax.

Legs: Concentrating on  helping them ground. I start with the area under the armpit with my hand completely around the leg. I raise the leg upwards and slowly go downwards with the skin several times as I culminate at the feet. I often go down the legs many times as they really like getting their legs touched. Sometimes the dog is standing and sometimes they will be laying down. Whatever they want is fine and you just adjust your stance.

Feet: The feet are very  important. Some dogs do not like their feet touched because of nail trims or other reasons.

That is why it is so wonderful to make it an enjoyable experience

for them. They may just surprise you as they let you trim their nails again. I massage the pads of the feet and go in between the pads. If they really don’t like it, I only stay for as long as they allow.

Stomach: Just as we feel fear  in our stomach, dogs do as well.

We can help the dog with their fears easily by working with the stomach. A relaxed and confidant dog should have a loose stomach. If your dog’s stomach is tight, try the following. Put one hand on the back and one hand on the stomach. Slowly breathe in as you raise your hand on the stomach. Then slowly exhale as you lower the hand. Do this many times. If it is a larger dog, you may use a towel that is placed on the stomach and raised and lowered with the breath. This is quite important for the hips, as well, with older dogs. You can move your hand backwards on the stomach and move the towel, also.

Tail: The tail is actually an  extension of the back and has vertebrae within the tail. The tail is extremely important for fearful dogs, as well as overly confidant dogs. Sometimes how they hold their tail has become a habit that influences their behavior. A tucked tail is fearful while a straight up tail can be dominant. With massaging the tail, we just want to help loosen it so it can hang naturally.

To begin, place your index finger on the tail and your thumb underneath. Do a small circle with your hand and move the tail gently. Now go vertebrae by vertebrae towards the tip of the tail.

Raise your hand up and down as you move slowly along the tail. You can do this many times if your dog likes it. Then shake out the tail sideways as you get to the tip. It is really interesting to see how the behavior can change from fear to confidence just with the tail. If your dog does not like its tail massaged, just work on touching the hind quarters more and more until you can work towards massaging.  Back: Along the vertebrae, put both thumb and finger and run them along the spine. It is

so relaxing for your dog. Just do it lightly and watch them love it.

You should use this technique going from the neck to the tail.

Neck: Because of the leash  and collar, I like to spend a lot of time on the neck. If they seem to have a problem, you may want to get a harness so there is not tension on the neck.

I use my entire hand and just massage the neck. They love it and will often stare into space and relax. Make sure you go all around the neck for the full benefit.

Mouth: Just like people who  are stressed and may suffer from TMJ, be pencil chewers, or cigarette smokers, dogs show their tension in their life in their mouth. Often, the mouth can be very tight in the corners.

To alleviate this stress, they will chew on anything they can.

Dogs enjoy chewing, but when it is a destructive pattern, it must be stopped and curtailed.

For the mouth, there is an acupuncture point right underneath our nose and also on dogs. If you can touch that, place your finger there and gently do small circles with a nice amount of pressure. Slowly move to stroking the cheek, one side at a time. You may also go above the nose slowly with pressure towards the forehead.

Once they are relaxed, you may massage their gums and stretch the skin on the corners of their mouth. This is especially nice for teething puppies.

With all of these techniques, it will be up to your dog to tell you how you are doing as the massage therapist. Dogs are so receptive to touch that it is quite fascinating but may take a few sessions to figure out your dog’s favorite positions. Good luck and keep touching your dog. distance healing with your pet

by Von Braschler When you enter a meditative state of heightened consciousness with focused intent, it is possible to leave your physical body in astral travel to help heal a distant friend. In a state of heightened awareness, almost anything is possible. The trick is to leave your physical body in a safe place, while your astral double leaves on a trip of its own.

I have personally witnessed how thought forms and also astral travel have power to heal at a distance. My personal experience involved a little cat named Miss Ben. Miss Ben was a cat that I rescued from a basement. Her alcoholic owner, who truly loved her, would rub her the wrong way whenever he tried to pet her after too many drinks.

All she really wanted was to be free and breathe fresh air. One day, poor Miss Ben was hit by a car.

She was crippled in two places and unable to walk.

In fact, her veterinarian said that the severity of the double fractures made them inoperable in all likelihood, unless I considered taking her to a hospital back East or requesting the local university to attempt it. Most likely, he said, Miss Ben would need to be euthanized.

The doctor said to watch her carefully for a week and then bring her back for another examination.

After a week, he might be willing to recommend her to the local university staff for corrective surgery. That week looked pretty long and grueling to me, particularly since I was scheduled to make a business trip to London that could not be postponed. Poor Ben lay in a cardboard box with the front cut away, so that she could occasionally drag her limp body to nearby water, food, and litter.

I asked my neighbor and her fiancé to watch Miss Ben for me.

Far away in London in a strange hotel room, I felt unable to help her, and sad that I had abandoned her during her darkest hour. Then an inspiration came upon me. I was not powerless, despite the distance. I could visualize her clearly in my mind’s eye during meditation and then send my healing thought forms to her.

I did this for the first two nights away, but

I was still worried because I could not see her. So I decided to leave my body and visit her in astral travel. It was the first time that I had ever tried to visit somebody in my astral body for healing, and I was amazed how clear everything appeared to me.

I meditated until I reached a state of heightened consciousness and felt complete detachment from my physical body.

I found myself almost instantly in my bedroom back across the ocean. I was positioned in front of my crippled, little cat. She lay limp in the cut-away cardboard box, with little food or water taken.

I began to project my astral body into the area of her broken leg and tail bone. I concentrated on infusing her with energy and melding her together, not knowing exactly how the bones should be fused. She seemed to react to my presence, or my energy input, but did not recognize me as being in the room in any way.

The next few nights, I went across the ocean to her in the same manner and infused energy into her limp body. I concentrated on healing the broken bones and melding them together. Each night, she seemed to respond more and more to my presence.

The next night when I visited her, I did not find her in her cut-away box. She was nowhere in the room. I started to fear the worst; but then a quiet comfort came over me. Somehow, I knew that she was all right.

The next day I came home from London.

I rushed to the bedroom. Miss Ben was there and responded to me warmly. She bolted out of her box and rushed forward to lick my nose with great joy.

When canine cancer strikes

by Maria Lisa Polegatto And there it was one day right out of the blue. It’s hard, it’s round, it’s on my furry child. It’s…it’s…it’s…a lump!!! Alert, Alert!!! Oh my goodness, as I sit next to her and stare at it. No, it couldn’t be. I feel it again to double check and triple check. I do a dog-once-over again and again, all over.

Yes, it’s still there. It wasn’t there yesterday, we check you every day. Our morning ritual to get you ready for your day.

Ok, she’s had lumps before and they went away as I try to convince myself it’s not what I think it is. It couldn’t be. This one’s different though. Although it’s small, it’s on her breast. I know she knows I’m concerned as she turns and looks at me. So I lean in close and snuggle her nose, a kiss can do wonders for us both. “Good girl, we’ll get through this together. I’m right here with you. Stay with me, I’ve got you.”

And off I go researching with her by my side, reading, reading, and reading some more through journals, articles, internet, books and more while also listening for sure. The world is but a click away today.

“We’ll find what we need; it will come to us.”

so I know how horrible a disease it can be.

She did mountains of research that she shares with me evermore. As she stands behind now in spirit, I search and find answers in my prayers. Interestingly enough, I find things popping up around me that I learn more about as the universe puts them out for us to find.

What they eat

First things first. This much I know. One must heal through what they eat. I’ve done this before. A trip to the kitchen and out goes any not healthy enough dog food, grains and any chemicals that could be near.

No, no, no, we need to read, research and read some more. This is high alert time! We simply need nature’s best. Dishes are always

Out comes the juicer where it will stay for precious healing foods, “We’ll eat healthy together my love.” Bring on the carrots, spinach, kale, celery and broccoli.

No chance of choking on them when they are reduced to precious nutrient rich juice.

An opening of the refrigerator reveals God’s natural spirulina. A gem found deep, deep within the sea. notch. And for an added flair, we’ll add some red pepper with that fish. I know a fisherman who serves up a hearty batch near the market each week.

We’ll chase away that cancer like it knows it had better get running for there’s no fiercer wand than that of a Mom on a mission.

More work to do

Well, that was delicious but we still have more work to do. For this is just the start. This cancer is fierce and it needs to be watched day and night, so we bundle up warm for walks. We need to increase your muscle strength along with oxygen and blood flow. Sniffing in nature is mandatory, but eating is reserved for home use only.

Watching your nose all through the grass it goes, keeping an eye ahead so no objects it detects for consumption. For eating outside can be dangerous at best.

But if that is not enough, we have more problems. A heart murmur with a slow beat, especially in senior years, puts an even greater risk of not passing by the knife. It would need to be quick as more time on the table is risky if complications unfold.

Decisions, decisions, but quality of life takes forefront. You still have time to enjoy more life before that fateful decision needs to be made.

But now, we’re still not done.

Although the growth is popped out and stunted where it is, we’ll move on now to more remedies as we go. For cancer is in everyone; it just lurks inside.

It waits until it finds a loophole to peek out and say hello.

Unfortunately it’s met with fear and that only makes it grow.

Thank goodness, a quality vet we have found. He loaned me his book and we’ll find more answers, that much I know.

Our journey is not over. It has only yet begun but we’ll make it together, through thick and thin. For this lump can never break the bond that holds us even through space and time, for there is no time in eternity, just moments of love. The kind of love that heals and brings us closer and closer. For when canine cancer strikes, it’s time to learn how to stop, take a breath, appreciate the moments and run like heck ahead of it to leave it in the dust.
