SRFTI SHORT FILMS CERT TBC) Since WW2, West Bengal has produced a distinctive film culture, including internationally acclaimed directors such as Ritwik Ghatak, Tapan Sinha, and, most famously of all, the great Satyajit Ray. In 1995, a new elite film school was founded in Kolkata and named after Ray. Since then, the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, has been training the next generation of Bengali film makers. This evening Screen Academy Scotland, in partnership with the SRFTI, will be screening a compilation of the best work to emerge from the school since its foundation 15 years ago.
