Having re-invented herself as a smouldering Femme Fatale, Tamara Drewe returns to the village she once called home to sell her dead mother’s house. Now barely recognisable to the locals (or her ex boyfriend) she sets tongues a waggin’ as scandal and gossip surround the former ugly duckling! This cracking British comedy was a hit at Cannes and was described by the Guardian as “Like the filthiest feature-length episode of The Archers” ...

As past truths resurface, Ned realises he’s not the only one hiding a shocking family secret. He must decide what secrets should be shared and what secrets are worth keeping. Two renegade scientists go it alone when their research company refuses to allow them to serve their own curiosity and splice together human and animal DNA. The result is DREN, a humanoid type creature with wings and a stinging tail. Initially DREN (try spelling it backwards) exceeds their wildest dreams but the joy is short-lived and soon, the dream becomes a terrifying out of control nightmare.
Newly retired villain, Gary (Ray Winstone) cast off his criminal past and settled down with his wife in the Costa del Sol. But it’s not easy to leave your past behind and Gary’s psycho ex-colleague (Ben Kingsley) is absolutely determined to persuade Gary out of retirement for one last job...

Oscar nominee Sylvain Chomet has turned a previously unproduced Jacques Tati script into one of the sweetest films in years. An old French illusionist meets a young woman in the Western Isles. She is entranced by his illusions and believes them to be real magic. She follows him to Edinburgh, where flattered by her faith, he hides the truth from her. How long can this illusion continue... Director Chomet’s style is utterly breathtaking and makes for a dreamily beautiful depiction of the Scottish landscape.

In life as in death, Monsieur Gainsbourg divided opinion. To some he was a revolutionary, a lover and an inspiration. To others he was a lecher, a misogynist and a womaniser. This new film is far more than the standard music biopic. With stunningly evocative cinematography, a classic soundtrack, and La Gueule (Serge’s inner self) – you’ll either love it or hate it. Vive La France!

Wait, hold on!! I know it’s a Catherine Zeta-Jones rom-com, and I was very surprised by this, but it’s good – extremely good. Sandy (Zeta-Jones) leaves her cheating husband and moves to the city with her children where she has secured a job at a TV sports news station. She ends up hiring Aram (Bartha) as her nanny and the two begin developing feelings for each other – trouble is she’s 40 and he’s 25. This is one of the funniest rom-coms since Annie Hall.
