Reverend Harry James Tripp of Northridge, California, formerly of North Collins, New York entered into eternal rest on December 15, 2021 at the age of 90. Devoted husband of the late Esther May Tripp (Munson); loving father of Cynthia (Michael) Rolka, H. James (Shelley Tarshis) Tripp, Patricia (Larry) Rovetti, Pamela (late Lawrence Montes) Tripp, and Deborah (John) LoBianco; Cherished grandfather of Jason (Melissa) Rolka, Jody (Thomas) Kolojeski, Jennifer (Stephen) Andris, Mallory, Lauren and Jossilen Montes, Giorgio (Lindsey) LoBianco, John J. (Nicole) LoBianco; beloved great-grandfather of Carter, Caroline, Andrew, Sam, Ashley, Katelyn, Aubrie, Luca. Leo, Mila and Ruby. Brother of Carol Rolison and the late Lorraine Selleck, Janice Smith and Barbara Clemons. Harry attended Elim Bible College in Lima, New York and was ordained as a Reverend in 1949. He continued pastoring churches throughout New York State, including Gowanda Assembly of God Church in Gowanda, New York and Christian Fellowship Church in North Collins, New York. In 1972 he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from SUNY Fredonia. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he accepted the Lord’s calling to pastor Christian Assembly of God Church in Cortland, New York. He took a dwindling congregation and transformed it into a thriving religious community that resulted in the construction of a new church building in 1990. Harry retired in 1995, but he continued working in the ministry throughout his entire retirement years conducting services and Bible studies in various nursing homes and at his home church. Harry cherished his family and enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. His lifelong goal was to make a difference in the lives of all the people he touched, and there is no doubt that he succeeded. Family will be present Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main Street, North Collins, New York. A celebration of life will immediately follow as well as a graveside service at the North Collins cemetery. The family requests that those who attend wear a mask. __________

Eden Family Dental has invested in two new pieces of equipment that we are excited to utilize for our patients. Our doctors and assistant have been trained to use a digital scanner to view our patient's teeth in 3D. This is a no-radiation scanner and, in many cases, can eliminate the need to take goopy impressions of the mouth. This makes our appointments quicker and less risk of gagging during impressions. These scans transmit within seconds to our in-house dental mill, which employs CAD-CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) to fabricate ceramic crowns within 40 minutes. This allows our patients to be fitted with their permanent dental crown at one visit, rather than returning in 1-2 weeks or wearing a temporary crown. Eden Family Dental is continuously looking for ways to improve the dental experience for our patients and to accommodate everyone's busy schedule.

The East Eden Fire Company is the organization that provides fire protection and emergency services for all of the residents in the East Eden Fire District,while assisting neighboring communities and being assisted by other fire companies through mutual aid. Our firemen undergo rigorous training to become members, donating countless hours learning the latest techniques to protect you and your families. Hopefully you have been fortunate enough to avoid using the services we provide, but we assure you that our staffs of VOLUNTEERS are available to serve you 24 hours a day if the occasion arises. With the purchase of the Lucas device will be able to assist the Eden Emergency Squad when they are dispatched for a cardiac emergency in the East Eden community. This will provide the Eden Emergency Squad with a second Lucas device for the Town of Eden.

David L. Allen

David L. Allen, age 80, of Lackawanna, NY, formerly of Eden, NY, died June 10, 2022 in Mercy Hospital. He was born in Olean, NY on August 19, 1941. He was a son of the late Robert M. Allen and Nancy (Catlin) Allen. He married his loving wife of 60 years, the former Sara J. Newman, on January 6, 1962 in the SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg, NY. David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David will be remembered for the pride he took helping plan the events every year for the Eden Alumni Association. At one time David was a member of the Brownsville Texas Country Club and the Builders Association in Brownsville, Texas. He enjoyed working with his hands and wood working. Because of his talents with wood working David started Allen Cabinet Shop in Eden, NY. He owned and operated the shop for over 20 years. David knew so many people and was able to make friends very easily. Besides his parents, David is predeceased by a brother Michael Allen. He is survived by his wife, Sara J. Allen; a daughter, Cynthia J. (Kurt Ortlinghaus) Allen; two sons, David M. (Cynthia Marks) Allen and Todd N. (Kerry) Allen; eight grandchildren, Richard, Arielle, Krista, Nick, Anthony, David, Daniel and Katie. Also survived by a brother Gary (Laree) Allen and several nieces and nephews. Claudia Estelle MarkhamAhl, age 70, of Ocala, FL and Fredonia, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, June 8, 2022 after a long, gallant fight with cancer. The daughter of the late Clair and Joyce (Nagle) Markham, Claudia was born on January 17, 1952 in Silver Creek, NY. She was a graduate of Silver Creek Central School, Class of 1970. Claudia went on to study German Education and English at Ithaca College and graduated in 1974. She then studied Organizational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University and later, Elementary Education and English at SUNY at Fredonia, where she received her Masters of Education Degree in 1978. She taught for 39 years in several of Florida’s Marion County Schools, most recently Liberty Middle School, where she taught science. She retired from teaching in June 2013. She married her loving husband, Bryan D. Ahl in Ocala, FL on Sept. 23, 1995 and they enjoyed a storybook romance for 24 years. Claudia was a member of the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church and she also attended the First Presbyterian Church in Ocala and the First United Presbyterian Church in Silver Creek, NY, where she was an active member of the Deborah Circle. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Ocala Chapter) and a member of Ocala's VFW Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Claudia is predeceased by her husband, Bryan Ahl, and their beloved dog, Ladyfingers. She is survived by her dear sister, Cathy (Jim) Hebb, a niece, Clare Hebb, a nephew, Jimmy Hebb, and a great nephew, Cace Hottle. Interment will be next to her husband in the Eden Evergreen Cemetery. Monique Kernen, age 51, of Elma, New York, formerly of Eden, NY passed away peacefully in her residence on June 13, 2022. She was born on May 8, 1971 in Albion, New York. Monique will be remembered as an active, vibrant person who loved to be around people and was able to make friends with anyone she met. She enjoyed attending summer camp, playing soft ball and loved to travel. She was a fervent Buffalo Bills, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley fan. On March 22, 1911, some ladies of Eden decided to start a Library. They were Mrs Martha Hubbel, along with Mrs Carlton Shaw, Mrs William Baldauf, Mrs A. A. Shaw and Mrs Ella Hill. A small building was found and used to house the books. They were later given to the scrap drive during World War Two.
