Mary Strickfaden (Scheetz) of Gowanda, NY entered into rest August 12, 2023 at the age of 83 Years. Loving wife of the late Harley Strickfaden Jr. Cherished mother of Eric (Tammy) Strickfaden and Barbara (William) Wade. Grandmother of Erica (Mark) Orlowski and Danielle Strickfaden. Fur mother of Miss Kitty. Sister of Jean (Jack) Kirst, Joanne (David) Mills and the late Marjorie Chiavetta. Sister in law of Robert Chiavetta. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and in-laws. Friends called at the Wentland Funeral Home 10634 Main St. (Rt. 62) North Collins, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial was held from Epiphany of Our Lord Church Langford, NY. Mary was a former employee of Dr. Hu Chang of Gowanda and Owner of Gowanda Bus service. Thomas R. Purves of Eden, New York passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was the son of the late Gilbert and Grace (Weber) Purves. Beloved husband of the late Jane (Wells) Purves. Survived by his children; Thomas R and Doris Jean Purves. Thomas was also preceded in death by siblings Bruce, Gilbert and Herbert Purves. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
