ester & erik is a family-owned company that has been making high-quality candles since 1987. Since then, the logo with the heart in the middle has been ester & erik’s trademark – an icon reflecting the couple’s fondness for each other, and in particular for candles, craftsmanship and the quality behind their vision. A vision of creating warmth, joy and life through the candles they have invented, produced and developed themselves for two generations.
The family’s experience and expertise – combined with a uniquely elegant design and special production methods – mean that ester & erik candles are not simply candles, but design icons for the home.
HIGH-QUALITY CANDLES MADE FROM THE PUREST RAW MATERIALS
All ester & erik candles are produced at our factory in Silkeborg, Denmark. Here, the entire production line is organized around the fact that two factors are key to producing well-performing candles: the quality of the raw materials and the final appearance of the candles.
Our candles are natural products made from wax, wick and dye of the highest quality. The candles are made from 100% pure paraffin wax, which can be heated and used without the need to add any artificial ingredients. The wick is made of 100% pure cotton, while both the dyes and lacquers are water-based and contain neither acetone nor aniline.
All of our taper-, slim-, cone- and cylindrical candles are self-extinguishing, ensuring that the flame naturally extinguishes itself 2-3 centimeters from the bottom.

COLOURED BY HAND
To achieve the best result when colouring a frame with up to 66 candles, we are keeping up our tradition of hand-dipping the candles in coloured wax.
Our special technique ensures a smooth and dirtfree finish, with each candle receiving individual attention during the process. Our unique overdipping wax brings out vibrant colors for a highquality finish every time.

MATT AND LACQUER FINISH
All our classic candles are also available with a lacquer finish for even more colour options – designed to tastefully light up any season or occasion. All of our lacquer candles are lacquered by hand.

TAPER CANDLES
The classic taper candle was the very first candle in our production, and even after 35 years it continues to be our best-selling candle by far. The candle’s fine, pointed top has always made it unique – a distinctive feature from which it derives the elegant, slender look that distinguishes it as an ester & erik candle.
CONE CANDLES
Our cone candles were originally designed as a decorative Christmas candle intended for use on wreaths and as part of festive decorations. The self-standing cone candle, combined with its classic shape, presents an elegant aesthetic when displayed independently or on our candle plates. Our collection features cone candles in three distinct heights, offering the option to vary heights to individual preferences.
SLIM CANDLES
The slim candle is an old, traditional candle which has existed for generations, and has been produced in many different shapes and heights. We have done our own interpretation of the slim candle, as a little sister to our popular taper candle – with the same shape and elegance, but with a smaller diameter. The slim candle is supplied in three heights.
CYLINDRICAL CANDLES
A lot of care goes into our cylindrical candles, as it is extremely difficult to produce a cylindrical candle using our dipping method. However, we have succeeded in doing just that, and the result is a beautiful and modern candle which is completely straight at the top. The cylindrical candle is available in two heights, and can easily be combined with our other classic candles, depending on the look you wish to create.
PILLAR CANDLES
Our pillar candles are available in a large palette of 93 colours and 12 different sizes. Our pillar candles are manufactured using a technique called cold compacting where the high-quality paraffin wax is compressed at a pressure of two tons. The intense pressure results in an exceptionally high-quality candle with unparalleled burn time.
CALENDAR CANDLES
Calendar candles are for many people a fixed tradition in December. The tradition relates to a lot of joy, and with butterflies in the stomach you count the days to Christmas eve. The flickering flame of the candle evokes a sense of magic during peaceful moments spent with loved ones. Our calendar candles are available as both cone and pillar candles, offered in 14 sophisticated colors. Their classic design exudes elegance and can stand alone as a beautiful centerpiece, be displayed on our candle plate or any other suitable surface.
ADVENT CANDLES
Our Advent candle is an alternative to the traditional Advent wreath. Light the candle every Sunday of Advent and count the weeks till Christmas eve. The flame of the candle creates a magical feeling in a peaceful time together with your loved ones.
We have launched our Advent candle in nine elegant, selected colors.
CHRISTMAS CANDLES
The Danes have a strong tradition for lighting candles, and at Christmas, candles bring people together more than any other time of the year. Therefore, Christmas candles have always been a part of our collection. Our Christmas candles have a classic look, with a touch of the taper candle design for a special twist.

Our scented candle line represents a marriage of ester & erik’s superior handmade candles with delicate fragrances. The fragrances are developed and produced at our factory in Silkeborg in Denmark by our scented candle designer Emmanuel Martini, whose skills are very unique in Denmark.
Emmanuel Martini develops the fragrances from scratch, inspired by Danish values and the natural world, making it possible to bring the feeling of a walk in the woods or the smell of wild flowers by the wayside into your home – infused in a scented candle which has been created with just as much expertise, imaginative creativity and genuine passion as our original candles.

Our collection of accessories first saw the light of day when Erik Møller created our candle holder for his and Ester’s silver wedding anniversary. CANDLE EXTINGUISHERS
The candle extinguishers enable you to extinguish candles completely so that the wick remains intact and you avoid creating unnecessary smoke. The candle extinguisher is also practical, as it can be used to remove any lacquer around the wick which collects when burning candles with a lacquered or metallic finish.
