2023 BBA Bangor Business Awards Announced
The prestigious Bangor Business Awards took place recently.
Best Kept Medium Town 2023 was awarded to Holywood. Holywood clinches ‘Best Kept Medium Town’ at 2023 Best Kept Awards NI
Holywood is celebrating winning the Best Kept Medium Town Award at the 2023 Best Kept Awards NI, which took place at Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey recently. The judges were greatly impressed by Holywood’s charming High Street with attractive buildings and meticulously maintained commercial properties making it a welcoming destination for visitors and an exceptionally appealing place for residents to call home. The annual event
organised by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC) and generously sponsored by George Best Belfast City Airport, honours the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of volunteers, Improvement Groups and Councils all who have significantly contributed to enhancing
their community’s environment. Now in its 66th year, the Best Kept campaign attracted participants from all corners of Northern Ireland. NIAC Chairman Doreen Muskett MBE praised the town’s approach roads, lush plantings, exquisite paving and outstanding street
furniture. Commenting on the award she said: “All of these major efforts reflect the diligent work of a rejuvenated Community Group, kudos to everyone involved in this achievement.”

Hosted by the one and only Cool FM’s Pete Snodden at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, the event, organised by Bangor Chamber of Trade was a huge success. And the winners were. Open House Festival Ltd was crowned as the Bangor’s Company of the Year and also took home the Best Business Development gong. Bangor FC was winner of the Commitment to the Bangor Community Award. Caremark NI was winner of the Wellbeing in the Workplace Award and also took home Employer of the Year! Bloomfield Shopping Centre & Ballyboley Dexters were joint winners of the Sustainable & Environmentally Friendly Business of The Year. June Cowan from Mango Direct Marketing was crowned
as the Employee of the Year. Music Bugs North Down was named as the Best Creative Initiative. Telford Opticians & Hearing Centre was the Independent Retailer of the Year. The Fusco Group has been crowned as the Family Business of the Year by the prestigious Bangor Business Awards! Gifted Enterprise was named as the Emerging Business of the Year. Oasis Travel has been crowned as the Customer Service Excellence, Multiple Retailer. FN Research has been crowned as the Professional Business Services Company of the Year. Cargo Coffee was winner in the Bangor’s Best Takeaway category. The Old Inn has been crowned as the Hospitality & Tourism Business of the Year! Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists!
