Message from the President

ECS Welcomes You to Boston!

On behalf of the board of directors, volunteer leadership, and ECS staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 243rd ECS Meeting with the 18th International Symposium on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC-XVIII).

To kick off this exciting week, we invite all ECS members to join us at the Boston Sheraton on Sunday for the ECS members Only Reception in the Constitution Ballroom at 1800h. All attendees are welcome to enjoy light snacks, an open bar, ample networking time, and the chance to meet with ECS divisions.

On Monday, join us for the Plenary Session in the Grand Ballroom. We invite attendees to wrap up the first full meeting day with the ECS Lecture by Linda Horton, Associate Director for Basic Energy Sciences (BES); Office of Science (SC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). We also recognize Society award winners Joseph Hupp, recipient of the Allen J. Bard Award; Fred Roozeboom, recipient of the Gordon E. Moore Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Solid State Science & Technology; and Arumugam Manthiram, recipient of the John B. Goodenough Award of The Electrochemical Society.

Throughout the week, be sure to stop by the Exhibit Hall, located in the Hynes Convention Center (Hall A: Plaza Level) to mingle with colleagues and discover our exciting lineup of industry-leading exhibitors. The ECS and SOFC General Poster Session takes place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, offering a wealth of presentations and topics to browse at your leisure.
