Choose a park from the map by clicking on the number of the park or by clicking the name of the park from the list of community and neighborhood pavilions on the following pages to navigate to that specific Park Page. You can also discover new parks by scrolling through all of the pages as they are in alphabetical order.

On every individual Park Page there is a map in the lower right corner. By clicking on this map it will pull up the park’s location on Google Maps where you can get directions.

Community Parks Eau Claire’s Community Parks: Carson Park, Fairfax Park, Mt. Simon Park, Owen Park, Phoenix Park, Riverview Park, and Rod & Gun Park

General Rules and Regulations: 

Reservations are for pavilions/shelters only and do not include surrounding areas in the park. The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to schedule other activities or events in the park. Many park restrooms available only with pavilion/shelter rentals.



Decorating: No tape, nails or other adhesives (tying up decorations is allowed).



Food/Catering services: User is responsible for making sure vendors protect the ground surfaces and hauls away all waste from food preparation (i.e. grease, oil, food remnants, etc.)



Political groups, marches or demonstrations need to contact the Police Department at (715) 839-4975.



Music/Amplified Sound: Must end at sunset in Phoenix Park. Noise ordinance violations are addressed on a complaint basis. Events in violation may be shut down.



Inflatables: Groups bringing any type of inflatable to your event need to notify the Parks & Recreation Department prior to the event date.



Alcohol is not allowed under any circumstances at any neighborhood park and Owen Park.



Alcohol is not allowed in Phoenix Park without completing an alcohol application for Phoenix Park.



If you are planning to have beer kegs (up to 3) at your event, a Beer Permit Application must be completed and returned 10 days prior to your event.



Carry-ins and bottles are allowed at Carson, Mt. Simon, Riverview, and Rod & Gun. Limit of 1 gallon per person.

About Carson Park Perched on a peninsula surrounded by Half Moon Lake is Eau Claire’s largest park.

The 130-acres that became Carson Park was donated in 1914 to the City of Eau Claire by an heir to lumber baron, William Carson. Carson Park is over 100 years old!

4200 Fairfax Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Fairfax Park This 75-acre park is home to Eau Claire’s municipal pool featuring a waterslide, a pavilion, concession stand, two little league fields, and a baseball field in the summer and groomed cross country ski trails in the winter. This is truly one of Eau Claire’s most visited parks. Fairfax park was acquired in 1964 which now features an outdoor community pool that opened in 1991.

About Mt. Simon Park Located on Dells Pond, you can access this 49-acre park from Forest Street or Birch Street. This park has two levels, one at lake level and the other on higher ground. The land for Mt. Simon Park was acquired in 1959 and between 1973 and 1983 grants were achieved to fund the park’s development.

About Owen Park Nestled in the heart of Eau Claire between Lake Street and historic Water Street, Owen Park sits atop 11 acres of land along the Chippewa River. Shaded by mature trees, picturesque Owen Park is perfect for a picnic, a stroll, or a game of tennis. This park is home to the Sarge Boyd Bandshell, a beautiful shoreline, a playground, and two lighted tennis courts. The land that became Owen Park was donated in 1913 by lumber baron John S. Owen, and officially became a park in 1920.

330 Riverfront Terrace, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Phoenix Park Located at the confluence of the Eau Claire and Chippewa Rivers, this 5-acre park has quickly become one of the most popular areas for summer concerts and events. It is also host to the Farmer’s and Artist’s Markets. This park was completed in 2005 and named for the former Phoenix Steel Company that resided along the Chippewa River frontage from 1875 to 1971.

2900 Riverview Drive, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Riverview Park Located along the Chippewa River just off the North Crossing, this 33-acre park has three pavilions, a large boat landing, canoe landing, a sand volleyball court, playground, and ample parking. Riverview Park has several entrances and one pavilion on a separate island making it a great place for large picnics and gatherings. Riverview Park was acquired in 1987.

1515 Rod & Gun Park Drive, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Rod and Gun Park This 12-acre park is located on the shores of Half Moon Lake, northwest of Carson Park.

Facilities include one picnic pavilion and many attractive streams and ponds. Rod and Gun Park is one of Eau Claire’s most scenic and natural public places. In 1935 the land for Rod and Gun Park was donated for the development of this beautiful waterfront park.

Boyd Park P A R K F E AT U R E S BASKETBALL COURT

OUTDOOR RINK

1202 Fairway Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Boyd Park Boyd park, located just off of Main Street, is about 1.5 acres in size. The area used to be a parking lot for Banbury Place, but over time the lot was used less and less. It was then converted into a natural area. Boyd Park is known for its lighted outdoor ice skating during winter months. It is a great place to shoot some hoops or take a hike on the Eastside Hill Nature Trail which offers scenic views of the Eau Claire River.

1601 11th Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Cameron Park Cameron Park is located northwest of Half Moon Lake. The shelter on site was built in 1976. The playground and basketball court were added in 1994 and 1996, respectively, making this park into what it is today. There is certainly enough room to get physically active on this 3.3 acre park that is primarily a large open area.

3309 County Farm Road, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About County Farm Park This 10.3 acre park is located on the north side of Eau Claire right off of Truax Blvd on County Farm Road. The park was purchased back in 2003. In 2008 there was one large and one small pavilion, a parking lot, and playground equipment added to accommodate the nearby growing neighborhoods. More recently there has been an addition of a basketball court. This park boasts large open areas which are great for recreational use.

524 Putnam Drive, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Demmler Park Demmler Park is over 4 acres in size. In 1994, a shelter and playground were built on site. Soon after, in 1996, there was a basketball court added to the park. This park is also home to a seasonal outdoor ice skating rink during the winter months and a small community garden during the rest of the year. It is easy to get active at Demmler Park with all of these great recreational opportunities.

1022 Violet Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Grover Heights Park Planning for Grover Heights Park started in 1996 and by 2001 a playground and a shelter were built at the site. It is nestled next to the Eau Claire Soccer Park where the Eau Claire United and Chippewa Valley Soccer leagues play. Combined with the soccer park it reaches nearly 45 acres in size. It is easy to stay active at this park with a basketball court and multiple fields in such close proximity.

1329 Country Line Road, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Jeffers Park The 52 acres that is now Jeffers Park was purchased back in 2004. Planning for Jeffers Park started soon after. Currently the park is home to community gardens and a brush site. The rest of the park is currently under construction but is coming along very quickly. Current construction includes 3 softball fields, 2 little league baseball fields, and a brand new pavilion.

105 Walnut Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Kessler Park The land Kessler Park is built on was obtained by the City of Eau Claire in 1947 from the Kessler Family for the sum of only one dollar. The park is located on a lot on the northwest edge of downtown and is just shy of 2 acres in size. In the mid 1990’s playground equipment, a basketball court and a shelter were put in. The site also includes a small baseball field.

900 Broadway Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About Lakeshore Park Lakeshore Park is in a great location along the Chippewa Valley State Trail and the southern shore of Half Moon Lake. This 1.5 acre park had a 3,000 square foot skateboarding plaza addition in 2013. The park also has a community garden, a shelter, and a beautiful view of the lake. Feel free to fish along the shore line or bring a boat and use the landing to get out on the water.

The park is home to athletic fields, a soccer field, and basketball courts. 800 Centre Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703 About McDonough Park McDonough Park is located on the southern shoreline of Dells Pond. It has been around since the late 1950’s. In 2008, a shelter and bathrooms were built on the nearly 16 acre park. Recently, in 2014, the existing tennis courts were renovated and turned into pickleball courts. With growing interest in pickleball, the addition of these courts has led to an increase in popularity of McDonough Park.

3507 Sharon Drive, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 About Mitscher Park In 1982, land was purchased on the south side of Eau Claire that is now known as Mitscher Park. Construction started on the 2.7 acre site in the summer of 1983 when a baseball backstop was built. Since then there have been many additions to Mitscher Park including a basketball court, a shelter, bathrooms, and playground equipment.

The 2.8 acre park was established back in 1945 and a shelter was built in 1975. In the mid 1990’s, a playground and a basketball court were added. More recently there has been a small picnic pavilion and grill added. There is also a small baseball field at Newell Park and plenty of open space for athletic activities.

In early 2004, the park was renamed to North Riverfronts Park with some major plans to renovate. In 2005, a new playground, pavilion, and basketball court were added to this park. North Riverfronts Park is a great place to come and relax or have a cookout on the grill available on site.

The park has a shelter that was built in 1990 and playground equipment that was added in 1994. For recreational activities the park has an athletic field, grass volleyball court, and a basketball hoop. During the winter months, there is a sledding hill available for the public to use.

It is now a year round outdoor sports destination. During the winter months, Pinehurst is a great place to enjoy a multitude of winter activities without having to travel far. In the summer, come use the bike park and hiking trails located in the scenic wooded area of Pinehurst.

It has been a full accessible park since 1990 when it got specialized playground equipment put in providing cooperative play for children of all ability levels. The park also includes an outdoor skating rink, as well as an outdoor boarded hockey rink that are operational during winter months.
