Mental health is the backbone of our health: a strong mind for a strong body And yet is unfortunately often overlooked. Just as you might exercise, it is important you practise mindfulness.

Here are 10 things you can do to clear the brain fog:

Keep up physical activity: this maintains a positive mindset: endorphins they call them!

Watch your diet: avoid processed food (sweets, biscuits, crips, prefer fruits and healthy snacks). What you eat affects how we feel in the short term but also in the long term!

Sleep: it is one of the most important tips! Children must get around 9 hours of sleep every day.

Stop stress building up over time: some simple exercises can make the difference: breathing in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Pausing and thinking: will this matter in 5 years?

Connect with others: spending time with friends and family will affect your mood positively.

Set a goal: it can help to motivate yourself.

Help other people: this will make you feel useful and good about yourself.

Drink a lot of water: it will improve your mood and energy levels. Pay attention to things around you: mindfulness can improve your mental health.

Talk: If you feel unwell you can always have a chat with your parents. Or someone you trust.
