what do we destroy when we create?

what do we create when we destroy?

Painting by Olympia Apollo

Sipping lavender lane.

Mezcal burns like bridges

All paths lead to you.

Dead end.

Amethyst swirls and ruby tears.

Phoenix eyes mirror each other, Black as the bow tied around Olympia's neck

Not eyes of lust, nor of grace.

You were my downfall.

Feathers of charcoal

Peaking through red ash

Held by arms of another

Dead end

Giving way to new beginnings.

Our end is my liberation.

dead enD.

Stairs to Nowhere

Lily Marie Fiore

Path of Light

’m sitting on wooden stairs

dizzy with panic and wondering when this

And suddenly I remember when you told me about your old Basset hound that died

You said his ears always dragged when he played in the snow

And I don’t know why of all things, my brain thinks of this when I’m struggling to breathe

But it calms me down

To think of you as a child, walking your dog through the snow

And he is moving forward and his ears drag behind lovingly

And now I’m sitting up on the stairs

And so abundant too

young love is a knife

Did I ever tell you how you were like family to me? You were, you were just like family

At night you’d lay by my side and I’d sigh (I always sighed back then, the pain was bad) and I’d sink into a dream of picking cherries from your lips, your lips looked like cherries i miss licking them, sinking into them and me, well i was a dripping mess of sweat that you’d hold in your hands and drink up until you’d put me down the drain because i was too much i was crushed. i was crushed. i was crushed it was enough though, to be yours how you wanted me - always how you wanted me i was the artist you were my muse maybe that’s why we worked so well, oh we were perfect because i painted you in my head every day preparing for when you’d leave and I’d remember you by the way i painted your lips red (like a rose, you loved roses. i do too) or carved your teeth crooked til they were sharp enough to cut me

young love is a knife sometimes i still miss you but then i remember you don’t exist that way anymore you haven’t since you missed my call in 2019 (you weren’t good at talking to me anymore, it was bad) and i’d die inside every time you’d let me down and you’d let me down every day i can still feel that pain from when you’d let me down every day and i remember til i’m blue in the face deep down in the face that you ran away you ran away you ran away

Where there is potential, there is failure. inspired by the future, specifcally how systems in the world were destined for destruction. With every start there is an end; with every birth there is a death. The future of technology, government, people, and innovation is bright, though everything comes at a cost. This dystopianinspired photoshoot allows the viewer to question whether the future will be glamorous or destructive. Or will both work hand in hand?

THE ARTISTS

Twitter (18+): @OlympiasCunt

Austin, TX

Olympia is the premie drag daughter from the sex art Haus of Apollo. Within contemplation of gender and normative constructs, Olympia used themes of destruction of the gender binary to juxtapose elements of darkness as queer erasure, and light pastel watercolors to illuminate the trans experience with her androgynous fgure.
