TELEVISION GUIDE Wednesday April 4 to Tuesday April 10, 2012 Highlights this week No doubt some of you are going to want to see the much-hyped Samson & Delilah (ABC2, Saturday, 8.30pm), which would have been much better as a 20-minute short, but for our money the Saturday evening viewing is best kickstarted with: 1. Wallace & Gromit – The Curse of The Were-Rabbit (Prime, 6.30pm). Yes, there’s a bad rabbit menacing our claymation heroes, and the eccentric inventor and his sceptical dog must find a way to triumph. The garden show host Lady Tottington is voiced by Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes is in there somewhere. 2. Jamie Foxx is splendid as rhythm and blues legend Ray Charles in the warts-and-all biopic Ray (Ten, Sunday, 10.30pm). He richly deserved his Oscar for best actor. Charles was set to attend an opening of the completed film but died of liver disease several months before its premiere. Charles’s life was both hard and triumphant, and for many years he also carried the monkey of heroin addiction on his back. The film captures the spirit of music which illuminates his playing and singing.
