TELEVISION GUIDE Wednesday January 16, to Tuesday January 22, 2013 Highlights this week Even in the wasteland of summer viewing, good old Aunty can be relied upon to find some quirky series. 1. Friday Night Dinner (ABC1, Friday, 8pm) focuses on an English Jewish family and stars Tamsin Greig of Black Books fame. There are lots of episodes on YouTube. 2. Hebburn (ABC1, Saturday, 8.20pm) finds a recently married couple ensnared in the English equivalent of Bogansville, Tyneside. Summary at www.comedy.co.uk/guide/tv/hebburn. One show which came and went too quickly is Portlandia. In one episode Kyle McLachlan of Twin Peaks fame plays the local mayor. The usual cast of two, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, project their own weird view of a fictional Portland, Oregon. See www.ifc.com/shows/portlandia.
