Grant County Assessor

Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the position of a County Assessor. Required qualifications include a five years of experience in the valuation, appraisal, and classification of property and a Senior Accredited Assessor License in the State of Minnesota. Supervisory and management experience, as well as knowledge of G.I.S. systems is preferred. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations and personnel of the Assessor's Office, which is engaged in the evaluation and classification of all taxable real estate and personal property within the County. The County Assessor assures the equitable assessment of taxable properties in accordance with the guidelines, rules, and requirements established by law and the Minnesota Department of Revenue. The County Assessor also maintains the tax library on the County's AS/400 system, conducts and attends meetings with local jurisdiction boards and councils, attends local Boards of Appeals, and interprets complex tax legislation.

The County Assessor is a department head level, full-time position. The annual salary range for the position is $48,027.20 to $67,267.20, with beginning pay subject to negotiation.
