THE NEWS REPORT! WE’RE BACK AGAIN!

Welcome to the second year of the News Report! This year we are back with new members, new styles, and most importantly more NEWS!!!

The News Report was created by a 6th Grader last year named James.

The staff includes James, Dashiell, Dawson, Eli, Ethan, and Sidney. Like last year, we will be writing three editions: one for the Fall, Winter, and the Spring. We hope you enjoy our first edition for the 2019-2020 year!

Flag Football and Girls Basketball By: James Theiss and Eli Mayer This fall, a brand new sport Co-ed Flag Football has entered Echo. The coach of the team is Mr. Alvarado. This team includes James P, James T, Tucker, Elijah, Spencer, Mateo, Langston, and Cassius in 6th grade. In 5th grade, we have Zach and Gia. In 4th grade, we have Owen, Vikram, Jake, Gabriel, and Merrick. Their first game was October 2nd and they unfortunately lost but in the second game they won 8-0! We also have the return of Girls Basketball coached by the one and only Mr. Willens. The team consists of Isabel, Zoe, Zamina, Malini, Natalie, Grace, and Luci in 4th grade, and 6th graders Sage and Sidney. They lost their first game, but won the second 22-16!

The coach of Flag Football is Mr. Alvardo! It is his first year in Echo. (We also have an interview with him) and he is very excited to be here! The coach of the Basketball is Mr. Willens back for his second year at Echo!

The teams are doing well and let’s hope they keep up the good work next year.

The Halloween carnival this year was a big hit! Some popular games were The Dunk Tank, the doughnut eating game (Of course, who doesn't love free food!) And the palm reading. The sixth graders enjoyed getting dunked by their buddies! This year we had a variety of costumes, from Harry Potter to Thanos. Another much-loved tradition was the parent tunnel.

Students went through grinning and energized for the games to come.
