CBC 2024: ABOUND
Hello CYAK support team!
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this year at Covenant Bible Camp in Unalakleet one of our best years ever. This year, we were blessed with 300 campers, 130 staff members, and 24 junior staff members. We had a fantastic theme, excellent speakers, and top-notch staff, and we even started some new traditions that I hope will last for generations to come.
Our theme for this year’s camp was “Abound,” inspired by 2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Too often, there’s a narrative of insufficiency and lack in our context, but we believe in a God of provision and abundance—a God of loaves and fishes. We believe that God is moving and providing in incredible ways. Our program directors and speakers did an outstanding job of making our theme relevant and practical for the lives of the kids who came to camp.
A particularly significant achievement—and a personal dream of mine—was the development of our Junior Staff program. We had 24 young people participate this year. We witnessed these students dive deeper, stretch themselves, and make meaningful decisions about their faith and futures. Each week, our Junior Staff had opportunities to help implement the camp program, engage in study and debriefing, and experience moments of appreciation. Senior leaders came alongside them, ensuring they had the best possible opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.
Another major success this summer was the inception of a dedicated care team to assist students in crisis. This team was comprised of long-time pastors and licensed mental health professionals. I cannot fully express the difference this team made for everyone at camp. They significantly enhanced our ability to care for both students and staff. It was truly inspiring to have such a well-equipped and willing team, and we are already looking forward to next summer as we seek to further improve this aspect of camp.
Friends, this summer saw tremendous strides made for the kingdom of God on the shores of the North River in Unalakleet. Students were well cared for, and God moved in the hearts and minds of hundreds of young people and staff. The passage from Ezekiel 37 comes to mind, where the question is asked, “Can these dry bones live?” Through faith and obedience, dry bones gain flesh, breath, and life. We often describe camp as a natural place to meet a supernatural God, and I hope that if you haven’t already, one day you’ll come and witness it in action.
God is so good: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Thank you so much for your partnership and generous financial support that makes it all possible. Glory be to God!

“The girls asked questions during devos that connected to the teaching and deepened their understanding. I loved seeing the cabin community develop throughout the week.”
“I saw God save some of my campers. I saw healing in others and experiences with the living God”
