CAMP THEME:

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

-Isaiah 43:18-19

PRAYER PRAISES & REQUESTS

Praise:

• Almost every week this summer was completely full of campers!

• Our volunteer staff was amazing! And for the commitment, they made to help campers have the best week.

• For each camper who attended and for those who met Christ for the first time.

Prayer Requests:

• That our Creator Lord Jesus who loves us very much would be with every camper as they go throughout this next year.

• We would effectively help each camper grow closer to Christ throughout the school year.

• That the Lord would fill the scholarship fund back up with $75K so we can see more kids hear, meet, and experience Christ next summer.

Covenant Bible Camp serves over 300 youth from across Alaska each summer. Yay! Our registration fee is less than what it costs to run the camp. Many communities we serve have high rates of unemployment and some families struggle to pay for their children to attend camp. We want to see as many kids attend camp as possible in 2024! Help make camp a reality for more kids!

Our efforts throughout the state culminate at Bible Camp and are then a launching pad for discipleship in the upcoming ministry year. It is a time when students and leaders come together from all our different and unique communities to focus on our one true commonality. With our faith in the Lord, students come from all different kinds of backgrounds and situations. They are entrusted to us for their care and growth for what is always inevitably a spiritual whirlwind each week. But God never ceases to impress and amaze us with what he does on the shores of North River in Unalakleet.

Our first big shout out goes to all of you who helped support getting kids to Bible Camp. Without your financial support, Bible Camp wouldn’t happen. Over $68K of generous giving was invested to get kids to Bible Camp this year.

Our next and big shout out needs to go to our volunteers, friends, and interns who make bible camp happen. Through relationship and story, we bring people together truly from all over the world to come and be a part of this particular chapter of the story of God. Volunteers return year after year to be a part of this incredible, miraculous, mysterious work that Christ does, often in what feels like despite us.

Our third big shout out goes to all our communities, who send their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones to Unalakleet each summer so that they might come to know and be in a relationship with the Lord. Getting kids to Bible Camp each summer is no small feat and requires an incredible

Lastly, we would like to give a shout out to the campers themselves, who come to Camp year after year to do the work of growing, regrowing, healing, and building all that faith requires. The theme of camp for this year was ‘Regrow’ using the imagery of fireweed after a fire to illustrate what God does in our lives after whatever fires come our way. In the past few years, especially coming out of Covid, there have been many fires. But the ground is beginning to break with new growth as seeds have been planted and God is making them grow. We have already begun planning and thinking about camp for next year and we are excited for the stories, challenges, and growth that it will bring. Our prayer is that all who are touched by their time at Bible Camp keep their experiences close at hand throughout the year and remember the work that God has done, that God is doing, and that God will do. Thank you so much for your financial and volunteer support!

See you in Summer 2024.
