THRIVE
“ What a unique joy, to not only see, but also participate in kids experiencing Christ’s hope, healing, and love in a powerful way. “
BBible Camp is a fun place, a special place, and a holy place. God encounters me, and others, in a powerful way at this camp. I first came to camp 20 years ago and met so many amazing friends (including my wife!). The daily structure provides the best things in life, things that we were all made for and enjoy but too often miss in our daily lives: play, good food, worship, time outside, intentional time building friendships, and intentional time building our relationships with God. There is so much singing! I hear God speak through the beautiful creation, the songs, the staff, and the campers.
I first came to camp as a volunteer, and after five summers doing that, I became the Executive Director. It’s been a while since I left that role, but the ministry still has a big place in my heart and I want to continue to be a part of serving the kids and connecting with the awesome volunteer staff. There is such a special bond you form with others serving at camp and the kids who are so excited to be there. It’s a privilege to walk alongside kids as they experience new, fun things, and learn more about the Bible and the Living God. What a unique joy, to not only see, but also participate in kids experiencing Christ’s hope, healing, and love in a powerful way. And bucket ball. I love playing bucket ball.

My biggest prayer for my kids is that they would come to know God’s love, joy, and grace as fully as possible in this life- and respond to it. I realize this gift will come to them by the work of the Holy Spirit through the Church - the body of Christ - which consists of people like you and me. There are so many aspects of God that God has planned for other people to reveal to my kids- I can give them one example of a Christ-follower, one witness, but it is very far from a complete picture. At a place like Bible Camp, they may see and experience other aspects of God’s work and love than they see at home or in our daily ‘normal’ lives. Also, they see me in a different context than our daily routine, and I think this is really healthy for them as well. It’s an opportunity for them to see the joy of serving!
