“I have lived inAnchorage for 18 years with my husband Phil who serves as pastor of Mountain View Hope Covenant church. We have four children ages 10,13,14 & 17. I work down the street from our house at the neighborhood elementary school as the Indigenous Student Support Specialist. I find joy in working with the families of our community. While an introvert at heart, I look forward to sharing what has been on my heart and mind, and what I have been learning this past year related to being both transparent and accountable with myself and with others.

“My journey to faith was heavily influenced and nurtured by the Jesus Movement, where I came to know Christ as both friend and savior. I’ve come to know the reality of the presence and activity of Holy Spirit in ordinary daily life. I am a commissioned Spiritual Director and recently retired from a career in city planning and community development. I lead spiritual disciplines workshops, serve on the council of the Association of Covenant Spiritual Directors, and lead the board of directors of Girl Scouts of Alaska. I am a lifelong outdoors enthusiast and quiltmaker. I enjoy sea kayaking, bicycling, cross-country skiing, and generally exploring the natural world of God’s creation both in solitude and in the company of others. My husband Randy and I came to Alaska in 1986 with Randy’s Air Force career. We live in Chugiak and worship at Community Covenant Church in Eagle River.
“I was born in Nebraska and was raised to love Jesus and serve Him all of my life. My children’s families all live close now, and I actually live with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson in Illinois. I love baking, cooking, fishing and collecting anything Swedish as well as old hymnals. My brother Kurt and I are the keepers of the family “ancient” history now. I’ve found joy in learning of the rich heritage of faith I have received from within my family. I have worked for Covenant Trust Company for 10+ years now, and I truly appreciate the ministry opportunities that come with my job. I will be leading a seminar Saturday afternoon called “Financial Wellness and You” and speaking on Saturday evening related to the weekend theme of how Love Lifted Me.”
Saturday Afternoon & Evening
“I grew up in Mountain Village, AK, and attended Covenant High School in Unalakleet. Soon after high school I married Joel, and we’ve been married for almost 48 years. I retired from work with the state and served alongside Joel when he served as a Pastor in Unalakleet just prior to retirement. We currently live in Soldotna and have three adult children and six grandchildren. I love the Lord, my dear family and friends. I enjoy knitting and sewing, and love a subsistence lifestyle. I’m blessed with each day the Lord gives.
