As the air braking world has changed, we have had to adapt the way we deal with diagnostic problems that can arise on modern day vehicle systems. As the air signalling system has been phased out and replaced by the EBS/ABS system, we have endeavoured to keep up with the advancements in the technology and created our own range of testing equipment.

Our test devices can be used in conjunction with the OE manufacturer’s equipment to create a complete analysis structure for truck and trailers that is not only easy to use, but also affordable to all types and sizes of fleets from owner driver to multinational fleet service garages.

Potentiometer Tester

This tester is used to check caliper potentiometer readings and to determine the wear status of brake discs and brake pads.

Brake discs and brake pads are some of the most important wearing parts on vehicles. Before replacing them it is worth testing them with an automotive Potentiometer Tester.

To check the potentiometer simply connect the corresponding cable to the brake potentiometer, power the tester and choose which type you are testing. This can be can be carried out with the caliper installed on the vehicle or with the caliper removed.

Operation of the tester

• Connect the appropriate test cable or adaptor to the tester via the phono connector at the top of the device.

• Connect the cable to the potentiometer being tested.

• Turn on the tester, press select button to scroll through vehicle/potentiometer choices.

• Press and hold select button to choose potentiometer.

• If no potentiometer is connected a failure message will appear; failure please attach potentiometer, this means either no potentiometer is connected or a faulty one is connected.

Battery

• Observe pad wear % and voltages from potentiometer being tested and adjust to suit your requirements by turning the potentiometer.

Before operation of the tester the battery should be fully charged, battery percentage can be seen on the display (battery supplied inside). If the battery is not fully charged the accuracy of the tests cannot be guaranteed as the tester supplies voltage to the potentiometer being tested.

Trailer Master (Van Mounted) c/w Pneumatic Function

Van Mounted TrailerMaster testing system for trailer lights and brakes.

TrailerMaster is designed to enable a single operator to test a trailer’s complete lighting system using the 24n and 24s power sockets, and to test the EBS warning light function on the trailer using the ISO 7638 socket.

Users can connect an air supply from a compressor in order to test the braking system, and test the service brake manually with the service brake switch or via the wired 15m remote control. The system features two glycerin-filled air gauges for service and emergency pressures.

How it works:

Connect the 24n and 24s sockets to the trailer then turn on the auto light test switch; the trailer lights will illuminate in a pre-set order for approximately 10 seconds each, allowing you time to check each light

The sequence is as follows: left lights, left indicator, brake light, reverse light, fog light, right indicator, right lights.

The kit is equipped with three five-metre air hoses for yellow line, red line and air supply in; a 15-metre wired remote control for service brake operation; three five-metre electrical leads for 24n, 24s and ISO 7638; red and yellow line coupling adaptors; and a power supply cable (connect to fused 24-volt supply).

Sensormaster

EBS/ABS Sensor and Exciter Ring Tester

For testing and identifying sensor gap and exciter ring faults on any ABS & EBS system. Lightweight, portable and simple to operate.

The SensorMaster is supplied with a 1.6m high quality cable and a separate universal adapter for those applications where the standard lead’s termination is not applicable. The SensorMaster comes ready to use straight out of the box.

The SensorMaster is compatible with 90% of applications as standard. It works with any ABS system made by Knorr Bremse, Haldex or Wabco fitted to any type of commercial vehicle whether it be truck, trailer, bus or coach.

The SensorMaster tests for the following causes of sensor related faults:
