Greetings,

Recently, I’ve been preparing for our upcoming Tell Me More: Collection Connection webinar, featuring forthcoming winter and spring 2026 children’s and teen titles. Meet wonderful picture books and early readers offering some new best friends, including a badger, an octopus, a squirrel, a sea cucumber, a cat named Crouton, and many others. You’ll meet new middle grade adventures, tween mysteries, teen thrillers, must-have new graphic novels, and timely nonfiction, too. Register to join our Collection Development team on January 14th at 2PM ET, where we will tell you more!
At Brodart, we recognize that many of you have had the added stress of changing book vendors rather abruptly this year. We are working diligently to assist as many libraries as possible during this transition, while remaining committed to supporting public libraries with dependable, high-quality shelf-ready services for print materials. With many readers new to Brodart Youth Services’ offerings, I’m bumping up our annual recap of resources available to assist with purchasing, programming, and promotional plans. They include:
• BookWorm, our 100% youth-focused monthly newsletter, cultivated by our Collection Development team. BookWorm features book reviews, series announcements, links to selection lists featuring current topics, trending themes, graphic works, Spanish/ bilingual language editions, our Bound to Stay Bound prebind products, and a list of well-inventoried hot sellers perfect for year-end spending needs.
• Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) are printed early editions of forthcoming titles. Sign up to receive ARCs as they becom available. Our digital monthly newsletters and quarterly LittleOne and Lite LittleOne catalogs also keep you up-to-date on what’s trending. Choose to receive Fiction, Nonfiction, or both in the “K-12 Eblasts” option to receive pertinent youth announcements and title selections.
• Brodart Youth Services’ Resources page includes free downloadable storytime activity kits, book discussion guides, and other thematic collections to help enhance your regular programming schedule. New content is added monthly, and summer reading-themed items will arrive in spring.
• First Chapter Fridays and Meet the Authors/ Illustrators videos live on our YouTube channel, offering early access to shareable content for readers and librarians to drum up support (and library holds!) for forthcoming titles. Follow our Brodart Youth Services Facebook page to catch new content as it releases.

• Literacy@YourLibrary is the online community of Teach My Kid to Read, a nonprofit dedicated to educating librarians about building a library literacy HUB for early and struggling readers. This community aids in creating programs that educate the community about literacy skills and resources that help all children learn to read, and provides peer support. We partner with this group to bring the books to you!
• Summer Reading Prize Books is a program developed with our publishing partners to offer extended discounts on unprocessed books purchased for use as rewards in your library’s summer reading program. Board books, chapter books, middle grade and teen fiction and nonfiction, graphic novels, and bilingual world language titles for ages 0-18 are included. Our 2026 program launches in the next BookWorm issue.
• And more! For information about the above or anything not listed here, contact me at BYS@brodart.com
As 2025 comes to a close, I look forward to celebrating both ALA’s 150th AND America’s 250th anniversaries with you and wish you happiness and success in the new year! Thank you for your dedication to getting books into young readers’ hands, and for your continued confidence in Brodart.
