MESSAGE FROM LAURA TALLEY, Chair of the Board of Trustees In 2017, the Eau Claire Community Foundation celebrated 20 years of supporting nonprofits in the greater Eau Claire area. Thanks to your generosity, ECCF has been funding programs and assets for local nonprofits since 1997. We see firsthand the far-reaching and transformative impact of grants as they make a difference in area communities. And what a difference it’s been! Between January 1 and November 15, 2017, ECCF has disbursed over $4.1 million in grants to more than 200 nonprofit organizations. The Foundation’s assets have grown to over $22,000,000! Thanks to donors like you … • The Chippewa Valley Museum can educate visitors with a new projector system and exhibits that accommodate accessibility needs. • Fierce Freedom can continue its fight against human trafficking. • The Eau Claire Skateboarders Association can build a new skate park. • The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic can offer mental health services. These are just a few of the grants awarded in ECCF’s 2017 grant cycle; the combined impact of all 51 grants has been even more phenomenal! We also continue to collaborate with our peers by supporting community projects with donations that flow through ECCF. For example, the Carson Park Baseball Stadium Renovation Fund supports the future renovation of the stadium, and the Phoenix Park Bridge Lighting Project Fund enhances our downtown. The bridge is a spectacular sight when you visit Phoenix Park during the evening hours! As 2017 moves towards a close and you consider your year-end tax alternatives, please consider a gift to ECCF of appreciated securities or other property. If you are 70 ½ years or older and have not used your IRA disbursement, this is a great time to consider using your IRA to make a charitable gift for a tax saving opportunity. We can assist you and your financial and tax advisors with the process. To ensure a seamless transfer of your gift, please call us with your gifting instructions by December 15, 2017, to guarantee timely processing and ensure that the funds will be properly transferred for IRS purposes. Our focus and energies are committed to the future and what we can accomplish together as a community of givers. Thank you all for your continued generous support of ECCF throughout our 20 years! I wish you a warm, happy, and joyous holiday season. With gratitude,
