Board Letter Dear Founders, Donors, Benefactors, and Friends, For 25 years, ECCF has been fulfilling its mission to strengthen the community. Thanks to incredible donor support, ECCF has awarded more than $23 million in grants. This generosity made our 25th Anniversary Nonprofit Fundraising Initiative a resounding success. Local nonprofits raised more than $200,000, and ECCF awarded an additional $100,000 in bonus grants. ECCF’s 25th anniversary has been a celebration for the whole community! But this isn’t the only anniversary we’re celebrating this year; we also congratulate the Women’s Giving Circle on its 15th anniversary. Since 2008, the WGC has awarded over $400,000 in grants to support local women and children! None of this would be possible without the vision of the Society of Founders members who created ECCF, the generosity of our fund holders, or the dedication of our Board and Committee members. Equally important are the Legacy Society members, whose bequests will strengthen ECCF for years to come. Thank you to our generous donors, past and present, for 25 years of improving life in the Eau Claire community. We couldn’t have done it without you! Live generously,

Linda Danielson Board Chair

Sue Bornick Executive Director

Foundation History In 1995, the Hobbs Foundation, which had donated over $5 million to organizations throughout the community over 35 years, gave its final donation. Following its closure, an Eau Claire couple offered to make a significant gift to the community if a community foundation was in place. The couple, aware of the value of foundations, wanted to see their gift have an impact on the Eau Claire community through a community foundation. In January 1997, the Board of Trustees established a goal of finding 25 individuals by December 31, 1998, to become members of the Society of Founders. Each member was asked to make an unrestricted commitment of $10,000 (or more), payable over five years. A total of 64 members made total pledges of over one million dollars. With this the Eau Claire Community Foundation became a reality and opened in 1997.

Create Culture Supports programs and organizations that enhance the quality of life in our community through music, literature, visual arts, performing arts, and museums.

“It’s hardly possible to briefly summarize the tremendous impact ECCF has had on the Chippewa Valley Museum. From boilers, to exhibits, to children’s programs, ECCF has helped make the Museum the best that it can be. ECCF provided a lifeline during the worst days of the pandemic. It has made the Chippewa Valley Museum, and all of Eau Claire, a better place, and that is a legacy that needs to be celebrated.” - Carrie Ronnander, Chippewa Valley Museum “Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra is extremely grateful to ECCF for its operations support during the pandemic. The speed with which they were able to distribute small grants kept nonprofits running. In my mind, this exemplifies a community foundation and what it can do for a community in times of need.” - Elizabeth Hart, Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra

Form Futures Enhances learning opportunities for children and adults in the Eau Claire area. Form Futures grants may also provide community development opportunities.

“ECCF grants have contributed more than $100,000 to support Boys & Girls Club Kids since 2007. Studies have shown that every $1 invested in a Boys & Girls Club returns $9.60 back to the community with future citizens that contribute positively to society. Doing the math, that means ECCF donors have reinvested $1,000,000 back to the community by supporting the Club. Thank you, Eau Claire! Your gifts truly are priceless.” - Ann Kaiser, Boys & Girls Club of the Chippewa Valley “The Family Resource Center is very grateful to ECCF and the Women’s Giving Circle. Many of our signature programs either exist because of your seed funding or have gotten a much needed make-over thanks to you. On behalf of the thousands of families we serve every year, we can’t thank you enough for all your support.” - Jennifer Eddy, Family Resource Center
