Oct. 5: The Village at Harmony Crossing presents First Friday. There will be live entertainment from the The Eric Dodd Band, hayrides, a bounce house for kids, pumpkin patch (pumpkins for purchase and kids activities) on the lawn and merchants will be open late offering specials and discounts to shoppers. Oct. 5: The Plaza Arts Center presents Dvorak’s Piano Concerto with Kazanetti, 7:30 p.m. The award-winning Kazanetti String Quartet has performed across the USA and in Europe, and in 2008 was appointed Artists-in-Residence at The Plaza Arts Center. Oct. 6: The FERST Foundation of Putnam presents a Big Fall Yard Sale, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dairyman’s building behind McDonalds in downtown Eatonton. Find treasures for your home ranging from furniture, household goods, holiday decorations and much more. Still accepting donations! For more information, call (706) 485-0974. Oct. 6: Crooked Pines Farm Pumpkin Festival. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come to the farm to find the perfect pumpkin, enjoy local vendors from all over Georgia, live music, hayrides, a petting farm, BBQ Sundaes and a bounce house. The Pumpkin Festival will be $5/person (kids 5 and under are free) at the gate. The costs will vary for each vendor we have at the Pumpkin Festival. Oct. 8: Change of Date! The FERST Foundation of Putnam and Greene counties present ACES FERST Casino Night at the Bone Island Grill. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the gambling fun beginning at 5:30 p.m. For the ticket price of $35, you provide twelve months of books for a child and get admittance to the event, $2,000 of fun money and a chance to win the grand prize of beautiful jewelry from Aurum Jewelers. Oct. 12: The Village at Harmony Crossing presents Banks and Shane to perform Live on the Lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, their beverage of choice, blankets and just enjoy an evening under the stars while hearing some excellent music. Tickets to the event can be purchased in advance for $20 at www.vharmonycrossing. com or at Harmony Pet Resort, Farmers and Merchants Bank and Lights of Oconee.You can also reserve a table, set for 8 guests, for $160 for your entire group of friends or family. Tickets will also be sold at the gates for $25 on the day of the event. Oct. 20: Rock Eagle 4-H Center presents Saturday at the Rock, Historical Cemeteries and Stories from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rock is geared for all ages and is $5 for participants five years old and up and free to anyone four and younger. Oct. 20: Lake Oconee Center for Dental Health is one of the many sponsors for the upcoming Fall Family Fun Festival and Titan Trot 5K Race at Lake Oconee Academy, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Festivities start with the Titan Trot 5K & Fun Runs (at 8 a.m.), then at 10 a.m. join in and celebrate fall with food, games and fun for all.
