EM Abacus Building Blocks (EM ABB) employs a progressive learning approach to enhance students’ fundamental mental math abilities, while also improving listening and processing skills. Acknowledging the diverse learning preferences, we have integrated visual, kinesthetic and auditory learning strategies within our program through the use of both a digital and physical abacus as manipulative tools. Our programming also incorporates a game-based approach to make learning fun and engaging for our students.

The Easy Math Abacus image exercises and high-speed hearing allow students to practice using the left hemisphere (logical side) to manipulate the right hemisphere (abstract side) simultaneously. The exercises in the program were uniquely designed to nurture and strengthen brain function and can result in numerous cognitive benefits such as: improved concentration, developed memory capacity, spatial reasoning, creativity and problem-solving skills.

EM ABB2-Block 3 is the last part of the EM ABB2 digital book series for teachers, parents and caregivers of preschoolers and kindergarten students. Building on Block 1 and 2, this unit will continue to familiarize students with the method of complements (of five and ten) for addition and subtraction. Through the continued practice of bead manipulation on the abacus, students can enhance their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
