WELCOME TO OUR EV CALENDAR OF WORKSHOPS Eastern Volunteers [EV] is a community organisation that works to support and strengthen other community organisations to deliver services to their communities.

This is EV’s primary purpose whether you have paid or volunteer workforces or both as we believe in building stronger communities through its service providers to achieve active community participation and address social inequity and disadvantage.

As such we have designed a series of training programs to support early years services, community services, sporting groups and Committees of Management and Boards. We have kept them affordable and accessible as we particularly want smaller community organisations to be able to access these resources. I hope you will find something that assists you.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TENDER WRITING This Manningham workshop takes you through not only the basics of writing a successful submission or tender but it shows you how to write in a way which the funding bodies will respond to. It takes you into the mindset of the Funder .

Manningham Volunteer Resource Service-MVRS The Manningham Volunteer Resource Service [MVRS] is delivered by Eastern Volunteers through funding provided by the Manningham Council. The MVRS provides pre screening services which match people looking to volunteer with opportunities across diverse community organisations and groups including community not for profits, sporting, environmental, tourism, arts and culture, aged care , youth, health and child and family services i.e. wherever volunteers are needed.

The service also works with these organisations and groups to support them in delivering their services through a volunteer workforce.

The service facilitates the Manningham Volunteer Community of Practice which brings organisations and groups utilising volunteers , together to learn from each other, share resources and collaborate to strengthen volunteering in Manningham.

VOLUNTEERING EV DISABILITY INCLUSION MODULES People experiencing disability including mental health issues are seeking to volunteer in their communities and the biggest barrier to this is US- organisations who see inclusive volunteering as too hard or who say we don't have enough time to make it work. It's a myth that inclusive volunteering requires more effort.

These workshops assist organisations to understand and to be able to prepare for designing meaningful opportunities for volunteering for a willing, skilled and enthusiastic workforce of volunteers waiting to contribute.

EV DISABILITY TRAINING – MODULE 1 Modules 1 & 2 are designed to be attended in sequence and so we encourage you to attend both sessions to gain maximum benefit and understanding. SHONA BASS Lead Consultant - Community Sport Shona is a trailblazer being an ‘original Matilda’ and one of the first women in Australia to be awarded a level III (A License equivalent) Australian soccer coaching qualification. Shona is one of only 8 players to appear at both the 1st National championships in the 1974 & at the 1986 version. She is passionate advocate and promoter of Women in Sport from grass roots participation to elite performance and has participated on numerous boards including The International Olympic Committee for Women in Sport.

Shona has played and coached soccer at an elite level over several decades alongside coaching at the community club level and being a coach mentor.

KATHERINE CAPE Strategy & Outcomes / Early Learning Specialist Consultant Katherine is a highly skilled leader, facilitator and executive manager with broad experience across the early years, health and community sectors, in NGOs and local and state government, planning, delivering and managing health, early childhood and community services in both metropolitan and regional Victoria.

He brings to the consultant team excellent people & communications skills and commercial acumen. Kasturi has played lead roles as a Business Transformation leader in both the Not-for-Profit and Corporate sector.

JASON DOHERTY

Strategy , Governance, Volunteering and Early Years Associate Consultant Jason is an experienced Executive who has spent 25 years in both commercial and not for profit roles. His strengths are people management, creating high level strategies, delivering outcomes and being able to maintain a high level of execution across varied business units. Jason is a qualified early childhood teacher and was General Manager and Acting CEO of Playgroup Victoria for just on 9 years. Jason was CEO of Volunteering Geelong and brings a keen understanding of what it takes to deliver services with volunteer workforces in these changing times. Jason brings a social entrepreneurial lense to his work .

LEE BARKER Manager, Volunteer Support Services Over 30 years managing volunteer workforces has provided Lee with a wealth of knowledge in the sector. Her experience as a volunteer manager crosses sectors from Aged care, Op Shop management, Youth & Child, Emergency relief and more. Lee is also a great believer in learning though the journey and will facilitate the Volunteering workshops in a collaborative way to encourage shared learnings.

ANNA TAIT

Volunteer Support Services Officer, Volunteer Resource Services Anna first joined EV over 4 years ago when she moved to Melbourne from Brisbane, firstly as a Volunteer assessor and since then having worked with EV in different roles as the Volunteer Coordinator, Manager, Volunteer Resource Services and then back to volunteering as an assessor. Anna is passionate about volunteering and how it can engage and encourage connection within the community, build confidence and skills and make for a really strong and vibrant local community. Anna is excited to continue to support EV and work with the team in this new role.

Manager, Consulting Services Wayne is a senior leader with over 20 years’ experiences as, stakeholder and industry influencer across, transport, logistics, industrial, resources and commodities sectors in China, Singapore, Canada, and Australia.

Holding post graduate business and international management qualifications from Australia and USA. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a MAICD alumni member. Wayne is the Manager – Consulting Services with Eastern Volunteers and was previously Managing Director and Executive Vice President (APAC) Farstad Shipping & Logistics ASA and Executive General Manager -Trading & Marketing (Melbourne / Singapore) for Rio Tinto.
