Reconciliation Week: The Dark Emu Story Documentary Screening

Walk in Her Shoes: Community Forum and Exhibition

Homelessness is a growing concern across Victoria with hidden homelessness increasing, particularly among families and older women. Walk in Her Shoes is a powerful exhibition and community forum touring Victoria.

The evening will include: Immersive exhibition: walk through a moving display of stories and portraits that showcase the resilience of women navigating housing insecurity. The exhibition will be on display from 17 – 24 August in the Realm foyer.

Panel discussion: join a conversation with panellists including a moderator from the Council to Homeless Persons, two State Government MPs, representatives from Uniting Vic/Tas, the Salvation Army and a lived experience expert.

Get involved: learn about simple ways you can support change at a local level. This event is proudly presented in partnership with the Council to Homeless Persons and Maroondah City Council.

Houses at Parliament Campaign Origami & Information Session

Join us for a special event to watch the short film ‘Every Home is a Future’ featuring women from the exhibition, then sit down with Maidie Graham, Senior Manager Homelessness Services and learn how to create origami houses to contribute to the campaign whilst listening to stories of homelessness and how we, as a community, can come together to support this important issue.

During the month of August, we will create a display of origami houses in support of the Houses at Parliament Campaign, raising awareness of the urgent need to build more social and public housing to house those members of our community experiencing housing insecurity.
