SENIORS
1-31 OCT 2025

1-31 OCT 2025
At Your Library, we’re embracing the season with a program that’s bursting with opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired. Whether you’re discovering a new hobby, diving into local history, or meeting an acclaimed author, there’s a place for you here this spring.
We begin the season by celebrating Adult Learners Week from 1–8 September. Now in its 30th year, this national event is all about the joy of lifelong learning. Across our libraries, you’ll find hands-on workshops, fascinating talks, and creative activities designed to spark curiosity and open new doors — no matter your age or experience.
October is a big month for us, with two major celebrations. First up is Local History Month, where we shine a light on the remarkable stories and characters that have shaped our region. From guided heritage walks to captivating talks and exhibitions, it’s a chance to journey into the past and see our community in a whole new way.
Also in October, we celebrate Seniors Month, a time to recognise and enjoy the enormous contributions older people make to our community. Our program includes everything from wellbeing and fitness sessions to creative workshops and social gatherings — perfect for staying active, connected, and inspired.
And of course, spring wouldn’t be complete without some special literary moments. We’re thrilled to welcome two celebrated Australian authors to Your Library. On Thursday 9 October, Alli Parker will visit Bayswater Library to discuss her moving novel Until the Red Leaves Fall, a heartfelt story set in 1950s Melbourne. Then on Saturday 8 November, Mark Brandi joins us at Rowville Library to talk about his compelling new novel Eden, offering his signature blend of insight, suspense, and heart.
This spring, I invite you to make the most of all Your Library has to offer. Step inside, take part, and be part of a community that learns, shares, and grows together. We look forward to welcoming you.
