Holiday Greetings from our newly renovated award-winning shop, where the legacy of authentic craftsmanship and artistry has thrived since 1958. We take great pride in our rich history and reputation we have built over the years. Our commitment to honoring traditional cultural practices and delivering authentic works of art is what sets us apart. Whether it's a carefully carved katsina, a piece of jewelry, a work of pottery, or a meticulously woven textile, our artists capture the essence of true craftsmanship and showcase the beauty of indigenous art.
Our Museum Shop fulfills the museum's mission by connecting indigenous creativity with the global community. It serves as a platform for indigenous artists to showcase their work. This support enables these artists to preserve and share their cultural traditions with future generations. Maria Martinez
Maria Martinez (1887–1980) was a renowned potter from San Ildefonso, New Mexico, celebrated for her reinvigoration of black-onblack pottery, achieved through her early 20thcentury experimentation that transformed black ware. Collaborating frequently with her husband, Julian Martinez (1885–1943), and family members, Maria developed a distinctive style known for its technical refinement and sleek matte designs, which resonated with the aesthetics of American Modernism. Her influence continues to shape Pueblo pottery traditions and elevate the recognition of Native American artistry within Western art movements.
