Dear Siblings, Friends, Supporters, and Allies -
Thank you for having returned to the Hayes Mansion Hotel for our Annual Casino Night fundraiser. We appreciate you being with us to make this evening special, fun, and successful.
Over the many years, this event has been a special opportunity for our Trade Union leadership and members to enjoy an evening filled of music, table games, dinner, and time to speak with elected, business, and community leaders -without a speech-filled program to interrupt the conversations and fun. Tonight, will be no different.
Importantly, funds we raise tonight support our work to promote the collective interests of our affiliated unions, advance pro-worker legislation, and make project labor agreements ("PLAs") and union craftworkers the standard for construction projects in our jurisdiction. Our work must continue, and we thank you for your generous participation that allows us all to succeed collectively.
As you may recall, last year we:
•Defeated anti-worker policies
•Secured several new PLAs, including Santa Clara Unified SD after a 10-year battle
•Successfully navigated an off-year election cycle
•Decreased the threshold for San Jose PLA to under $1 Million ($730,000)
And as we look to the future, we will continue to:
•Secure new Project Labor Agreements
•Promote and cause to be enacted pro-worker policies such as Responsible Contracting Ordinances
•Elect pro-Building Trades candidates in 2026 election cycle
For now, let's have fun- at the buffet, on the dance floor, with our friendly poker tournament, the gaming tables, and with our raffle - don't forget to purchase your raffle tickets!

Casino Night Information & Guidelines
• Gaming Chips*: Turn your “Casino Scrip” into gaming chips at the open play gaming tables…if you need more casino scrip, it will be available in the ballroom.
• Casino-Style Gaming Tables*: Back by popular demand – all of your favorite games have returned to Casino Night! Try your luck at the Blackjack, Craps, or Pai Gow tables, or learn to play Poker!
*Due to City and State gaming regulations, “noncontrolled” casino-style games (i.e., Blackjack and Craps) can be played for entertainment purposes only.
• How to Bet: All gaming tables have a $5 minimum and $200 maximum for bets.
• Raffle and Prizes**: Every guest will receive raffle tickets when they sign-in at registration. These tickets will be entered for the fabulous raffle prizes on display in front of the stage in the main ballroom.
*Due to City and State gaming regulations, chips earned at the “casino-style” games can no longer be redeemed for raffle tickets
•Increase your odds: You may purchase additional raffle tickets to increase your chance of taking home one of our fabulous raffle prizes! ($10 = 10 Tixs; $20 = 25 Tixs)
•Additional Raffles: We will conduct a 50-50 raffle during the night (6-tickets for $5) with a maximum prize of $500 for the winner…this is where the winner receives half of all the money collected and the other half goes to help federal candidates. (Think Zoe Lofgren, Ro Khanna…).
SOME IMPORTANT FACTS:
• Poker is considered a “controlled” game by the State of California and City of San Jose Municipal Code. The City of San Jose requires a permit for events featuring “controlled” games.
•This event is registered with the State of California Department of Justice Bureau of Gambling Control and the City of San Jose Police Department Division of Gaming Control. The raffles are registered with the State of California Department of Justice.
• No one under 21 years of age is allowed in the gaming area.
