Weekend Workshop with Dr. Fred Wolff Assessment of Writing Using the Six Traits Rubrics September 20-21, 2008

Dr. Wolff visited classrooms from kindergarten through grade 10 demonstrating model lessons for teachers and students on writing. In ad dition, Mont’Kiara International School hosted a weekend workshop where 50+ teachers from the EARCOS region attended sessions on how to implement the 6 Traits of Writing – Ideas, Organization, Voice, Sentence Fluency, Word Choice, and Conventions.

Participants were thrilled with the information that was shared and his numerous examples of student writing. Teachers were able to prac tice scoring student samples and are ready to go back and implement the strategies that were taught throughout the session. In addition to the great presentation, teachers enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with other teachers in the region. Teachers gave up their precious weekend to further their knowledge, and all of our students will definitely benefit! Thank you, TEACHERS!!!
