TOP TABLE Meadow, Ealing Green

One of my absolute favourite parts of Ealing is Ealing Green Home to fantastic independents such as For Art’s Sake and All Original; the delightful Grove pub and two of Ealing’s most notable attractions, the Studios and Pitzhanger Manor, restaurant Meadow fits very nicely into this busy landscape

Launched in 2021, Meadow was opened as an Italian fusion Braseria and cocktail bar, offering a contemporary take on traditional Italian cuisine The restaurant was co-founded by Igor Matrosov, who is behind some of London’s favourite brunch spots including Las Banderas, named as one of the 'best-selling brunches' in London by Secret London

The restaurant is beautifully designed, with lots of greenery and a large Insta-poser wall The bar area has dedicated staff and a fantastically varied drinks menu

At the heart of the menu is a custom-built charcoal grill which was custom made in Dorset and uses 100% ethically produced, distilled English charcoal which brings a distinctive ‘flavour of the forest’ to the dishes at the restaurant

Meadow sources sustainably and the menu evolves with the seasons As they boast handmade, fresh pasta I was compelled to order prawn linguine, whilst my husband opted for chargrilled octopus (he has a thing where if octopus is on the menu, he has to order it ) Both were deliciously flavoursome: juicy prawns and soft, perfectly seasoned pasta and a succulent octopus dish with tasty peperonata and Salsa Verde.

It was a delightful meal for the warmer months; light and fresh and, topped off nicely with a cold, crisp glass of Vinho Verde
