Syracuse Nationals are this weekend

he 13th annual Syracuse Nationals will be held Friday, July 20 through Sunday, July 22, at the New York State Fairgrounds. The three-day automotive extravaganza has become a tradition for thousands of classic car and truck owners and their families from all over the country. The event is open to hot rods, muscle cars, classics and customs manufactured in 1980 and before. “American Muscle Sunday,” new to the event, will allow owners with vehicles newer than 1980 to display their specialty cars or trucks on Sunday. John Schneider (“Bo Duke”) and Catherine Bach (“Daisy Duke”), the stars of “The Dukes of Hazzard,” one of the alltime smash hit TV programs of the 1970s and 80s, will meet fans and sign autographs and Dan Woods, host of the show “Chop Cut Rebuild” on the SPEED channel will meet fans Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21. The Horticulture Building will be turned into a “million dollar garage” again this year, displaying 12 cars from across the country. The 12 cars total worth is more than $1 million and they represent the finest in metal shaping and car customization. Also featured are regular events including a dinner dance set to start at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Empire Room; Artie’s Party featuring pinstripers’ panel jam; modified garden tractor pulls; lawn mower races; flame-throwing cars; a Mega-Truck show; old school drag races. More than 350 automotive-related vendors and manufacturers; a large Women’s World, consisting of dozens of non-automotive related vendors and exhibitors in the Art & Home Center; See Syracuse Nationals on page 10

Chevy is now at Driver’s Village After more than a year of planning and a $1.5 million construction investment, the Burdick Chevrolet Grand Opening was held on Wednesday, April 25, at Driver’s Village. General Motors VIPs and banking executives were on hand, along with members of the greater Syracuse business community. Driver’s Village, 5885 East Circle Drive in Cicero, is a world class transportation provider designed around 22 automotive retail franchises, aftermarket and service facilities plus dozens of businesses including shops, services, studios, a restaurant, catering, conference center and more. There’s lots to do at Driver’s Village Cicero Farmer’s Market

The mission of the Cicero Farmers’ Market is to provide an economic boost to the town of Cicero, as well as provide a gathering place for the residents. The Farmers’ Market will function as a center for commerce, community activities and socializing by creating a relaxed, congenial and open market atmosphere. Located in the Driver’s Village parking lot between Burlington Coat Factory and Circle Drive. Under the direction and supervision of town of Cicero Parks & Recreation Department. The Farmer’s Market will be open from 2 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday come rain or shine until the end of October.
