Hops for sale Proceeds to benefit Madison County Historical Society
Potted hop plants are once again available to benefit the Madison County Historical Society in Oneida for a minimum $5 donation. Two hundred hop plants are ready to put in the ground now. Plants will also be available at the Hop Shop on Saturday, Sept.19 during the 20th Annual Madison County Hop Fest. Varieties available include cascade and hedgerow hops from the wild stock of the old hop yards near Bouckville, N.Y., where commercial hop growing was introduced to Central New York in 1808.
