Music with a
twist ‘CirqOvation’ to be presented by Symphoria on Saturday
S
ymphoria is continuing its Spark concert series, which takes performances out of the traditional music hall, with “CirqOvation� at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20., at the New York State Fairgrounds Exhibition Center (Dairy Cattle Building.) Symphoria will be joined by CirqOvation, a LaFayette-based group of aerial artists, jugglers, acrobats, comedians and other performers who fuse physical theatre, vaudeville, street performance and traditional circus. The family-friendly program includes music from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,� “Entrance from the Gladiators March,� “Waltz� from Sleeping Beauty and more. There will also be a free “Arts for All� event from 1-6 p.m. in the Exhibition Center prior to the concert. “Arts for All� is a participatory arts engagement event designed to connect
families with local arts organizations through performances, classes, exhibitions and other activities that the whole family can enjoy. Performers from CirqOvation will also make appearances between scheduled performances by local community groups. The Arts for All Event is free. Tickets for the Symphoria “CirqOvation� Concert are $25, $20 for seniors and $5 for college students. $5. Kids 18 and under are admitted free to all Symphoria performances.
