Practice, Hydration and Play:

Practicing is the key to success when it comes to golf. It is easy to feel good about what we are working on when it comes to the golf swing. However, if the time is not put in on the practice range it makes it difficult to expect a good outcome. Whether you are working on short game or the full swing, getting a good feel for contact and direction will only come with practice.

As we enter the warmer months, it is very important to remember to hydrate at least one hour before playing and during your time on the course or practice area.

When it is time to play, be sure to warm up before

going out. This is the time to feel comfortable with your swing and focus on the contact with the golf ball. Good contact with the golf ball will not only result in better shots, but it will also help us understand how far we hit each club.

Repair Tip on the Month:

Loft and lie angle of each iron is very important. The lofts on clubs are set at different angles to allow for a different distance from one club to the next. The lie angle of each club should be set to match the swing each player makes. If the club is too upright, we tend to see contact with the golf ball more towards the heel of the club. A club with a lie angle that is too flat will result in contact more towards the toe. Please contact one of the staff members in the golf shop if you have any questions about club loft and lie adjustments.

Slow Down!

School will be out for summer soon, and while we should always be aware of the speed limits, it’s even more important now that students will be out and about on bikes and darting across the street in pursuit of summer fun. Speed limits for the Eagle Harbor community are 30mph on Eagle Harbor Parkway from Hwy 17 until you get to Harbor Lake Drive. From Harbor Lake Drive to Lakeshore Drive the speed limit is 25mph and 15mph in individual neighborhoods. For the safety

Creek installed pet waste stations in 2021. There are seven (7) pet waste stations conveniently located throughout the community. The community’s provider, Doody Calls cleans and resupplies the stations weekly. Clay County requires dog owners to clean up after their dogs on public and private property.

• The owner or person in charge of the dog must pick up after the dog on public property, public walks, and recreation areas.

• Animal Control Officers can issue a written warning or citation to anyone who violates the dog poop ordinance: 904-269-6342

of everyone, we ask that motorists watch out for pedestrians when driving through the community.

Fishing in the Ponds

Good weather brings

an increase in both resident and nonresident fishing in the community ponds. While ponds located on CDD property are welcome spots for all, ponds located behind a resident’s home are private property and should not be accessed, even through CDD assigned access points (easements), by anyone other than the homeowner or a CDD employee for the purpose of maintaining the pond.

Community ponds located behind residential properties are private and it is within the rights of the homeowner to interpret unauthorized access as trespassing and call the Sheriff’s office.
