News and Notes from the Golf Shop By Randy Harrington, PGA | Head Golf Professional | RHarrington@hampton.golf | 904.269.9300 x-1 Dear Members,

November 16: POW/MIA – 11am Shotgun

controlled swingfrom start to finish.

November brings some of the finest golfing weather of the year to Eagle Harbor. Cooler temperatures and comfortable playing conditions make this a wonderful time to enjoy a round with friends, participate in club activities, or spend some extra time working on your game.

November 28: PRH See the Good – 12pm Shotgun

Try this during your next practice session:

As it is Fall, the golf course hours will change. Beginning November 1st, the golf pro shop will close at 5:30pm. The driving range will be the same. The last opportunity to get range balls is just before the pro shop closes. The driving range will continue to close at 3pm on Mondays for Maintenance.

Under USGA Rule 16.3, a player is generally allowed free relief when a ball becomes embedded in its own pitch-mark in the general area.

Tournaments November brings a busy tournament schedule to Eagle Harbor. Please be mindful that tournament play may affect tee-time availability on the following dates. November 1: High School Regionals Practice Round – 12pm Players will be booking tee times individually. November 2: High School Regionals – AM Tee Times November 4: JWGA – AM Shotgun November 6: Gen Geiger – AM Shotgun November 7: Club Championship

Please check with the Golf Shop for tournament information and tee-time availability.

Rules Tip of the Month Relief for an Embedded Ball

When relief is allowed, the player may drop the original ball or another ball within one club-length of the spot immediately behind where the ball became embedded, no nearer the hole. Rules Reminder: An embedded ball is more than a ball simply sitting down in the grass. Be sure the ball meets the requirements for an embedded ball before taking free relief.

Swing Pointer of the Month Improve Your Tempo Good tempo can help produce more consistent contact and better control throughout the bag. Rather than trying to generate maximum speed, focus on making a smooth,

Take the club back smoothly without rushing the takeaway. Allow yourself to complete the backswing before beginning the downswing. Focus on gradual acceleration through the ball. Maintain your balance through impact and into the finish. Start with shorter clubs and gradually work your way through the bag. Practice Tip: Think “smooth back, smooth through.” A well-paced swing can make it easier to find the center of the clubface and produce more consistent shots.

See You on the Course Thank you for your continued support of Eagle Harbor Golf Club. We appreciate everyone doing their part to care for the golf course and helping us maintain an enjoyable golf experience for our members and guests. We look forward to seeing everyone at the club throughout November. All the Best, Randy Harrington, PGA
