Book Exchange/Swap Saturday, April 2 | 11am | Annex Join us for one of our resident favorites, Eagle Harbor’s Book Exchange! Stock up or exchange books that range from cooking, suspense, travel, self-help, romance, children, youth, classics and more! You do not have to donate to participate! Mingle with your neighbors and pick out new-toyou books to take home. Any leftovers books and monies collected will be donated to our local library!

Donating? Here is how it works: • Drop off any new or gently used Adult or Children’s books to Waterfront Park • We will sign you up & write down amount of books donated • Arrive at event at Annex Building • Check in & you will receive a ticket for the number of book you previously donated • That ticket can then be used to buy/exchange, “new-to-you” books inside the event

Children’s Painting Party Saturday, April 2 | 2pm Waterfront Park | $10 per child *Children must be accompanied by an adult Let your child explore the magic of art at our Children’s Painting Party! We will be hosting 2 separate age groups, Children of all ages are invited to paint their very own canvas outdoors! Painting projects can be messy so let us handle the details! Dress your child in clothes they can get messy in and be prepared to witness the creativity. The $10 participation fee includes all necessary supplies. Summer is just around the corner and Eagle Harbor Aquatics is hiring! Jump into fun this summer with the best team of whistleblowers on the island! Lifeguards oversee the safety of residents at all Eagle Harbor pools, assist with Eagle Harbor special events and maintain cleanliness of the facilities. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing rules, regulations and policies and monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger. Certified Lifeguards must have Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer. Lifeguard certification classes will be held throughout the spring for anyone interested in becoming an Eagle Harbor Lifeguard. Please watch for announcements on our Eagle Harbor Residents Facebook page and online.

Do you have what it takes to be the face of Eagle Harbor? Our Guest Services team greet every resident and guest that come to the pool. Make a splash by being the first friendly face our residents see and be the first to get extra fries from snack bar.

Guest Services team members greet and register all guests and residents, verify member numbers prior to entry, checks messages and answer calls throughout the shift. Guest services also inspects cabanas, restrooms and office for cleanliness and organization and assists lifeguards and snack bar team with tasks as needed or assigned.

Come be part of the team that serves the best chicken tenders and fries on the island Snack Bar team members prepare, stock and service food and beverage items in accordance with the Safe Serve standards. Complete opening and closing checklists which include daily inventory as well as maintain the cleanliness and organization of the snack bar, equipment and accessories. Being part of this team also means taking an oath to never divulge our world famous fry seasoning. Guest services and snack bar are customer oriented, courteous and knowledgeable and can provide information on all Eagle Harbor community information, policies and events. All team members assist with special events and maintenance shifts throughout the season.

AQUATICS

Eagle Harbor is looking for a detail oriented adults to supervise daily pool activities, ensure all staff is present and performing to Eagle harbor standards. Supervisors provide members and guest with department information, assist with poolside activities and special

events. Our new team members should possess a keen attention to detail, basic computer knowledge and most importantly be customer oriented.

Training CPR and First Aid training is provided by Eagle Harbor and is a requirement for all positions. Lifeguard certification classes do have a fee and prerequisites prior to signing up.

Eagle Harbor Tennis Announcements: Cancer Tournament – We will not have courts available Thursday, April 21st-April 24th due to the Cancer Tournament held at Eagle Harbor Tennis. The shop will be closed 8am-12pm Thursday, April 21st and the all day Monday, April 25th. There will be no ladies or junior clinics held on these days. Eagle Harbor Tennis Dress Code Proper tennis attire and shoes are required at the tennis courts. Tennis now has 12 Hydro-clay courts. Having the proper NEW shoes work best on these courts to help prevent injury.

Eagle Harbor Golf Club Results Sto (Tennis Guys) vs. Frenzy (Golf Guys) Friday afternoon is “game time” at Eagle Harbor and two of our regular groups play back-to-back; Friday Frenzy and Sto. Four (9) hole matches were held over two-days, and everything came down to the last matches with each team tied at 9 points. 12 ½ were needed to claim victory. In the end, GOLF prevailed but fun was had by all that competed. Tennis

Jacksonville Senior Men’s Interclub Eagle Harbor finished 4th out of 17 teams and is now in 5th place overall for the season standings, which conclude in November. Eagle Harbor consists of 12 members that comprise of an 8 man team for matches.

Superbowl Scramble “The Big Game” The Big Game did not disappoint and although Ed Hochuli was not selected to referee at Superbowl LVI, his presence was felt at EH’s Big Game. There were lots of laughs, great play and even a 19th hole (TPC #17 West), played from the back tee on #10 to a back right pin location on our island putting green.

Now is a good time to turn your attention outward and take a look at your curb appeal. The following items may need your attention and spring is a good time to spruce up your home/lawn. PRESSURE WASHING – Eagle Harbor is over 20 years old and many homes are in need of a good pressure washing and/or repainting. The cooler days of spring are a great time to pressure wash your home, air conditioning screen wall, driveways and sidewalks. **Remember, repainting your home requires prior review and approval of a Color Change Application submitted to the community Architectural Review Committee (ARC). You can find more ARC information by visiting: www.eagleharborassociation.com MAILBOX POSTS – Eagle Harbor homes have uniform mailboxes and mailbox posts. Keeping them looking good goes a long way toward a beautiful streetscape. Some things you can do ... (1) Pick up FREE pre-cut white trim pieces (which never need painting), and FREE mailbox post paint to make your mailbox post look new again.

Crime Watch Spring is just around the corner and you’re probably thinking about some home maintenance and repairs that may involve the purchase of new equipment. Those packing boxes that you put out with the trash are a signal to thieves that cruise neighborhoods on trash days to see what’s on the inside of your home by the boxes you leave on the outside. They drive up and down the street looking and they take note of addresses. Whether they’re coming back in a day, a week or in three months, they know exactly what’s in your house now. Be proactive and cut up these boxes and put them in bags so criminals will not know what new items are in your home. An alarm system is a great home improvement investment if you don’t have one. It’s a great deterrent and will most likely get a reduction in your homeowners’ insurance. If you have an alarm system, use it when you are away from home even if it’s for a short period of time. Some tips to remember: • Become familiar with your alarm system and your password • Cancel false alarms immediately through your alarm company • Before arming your system, make sure that all doors and windows are closed properly • Make sure that all motion sensor areas are clear of any moving items (reflective materials, banners, fans, and family pets can cause false alarms)
