OUR HISTORY What began as a small agricultural construction company, has grown into Western Canada’s largest and most trusted name in precast concrete construction.

At first, our precast was manufactured on-site using mobile casting beds rather than in a manufacturing facility.

In 2002 we leased a 10,000 sq ft building for manufacturing precast concrete panels.

Shortly after moving into their new manufacturing facility, Dan passed away. Barely old enough to vote, these young kids stepped up to the plate to run their dad’s company and continue his vision. Calling every contact available to them, they started to build the business one project at a time.

In the year 2000, Dan Haan began the long journey that would change the building industry forever. Dan understood the high maintenance costs of conventional structures and dared to find a better solution.

Taking a leap of faith, he started a construction company with a vision to offer superior agricultural buildings constructed from concrete.

Dan Haan founded Eagle Builders.

Specialized in agriculture. Concrete was cast on-site using mobile casting beds.

2000

Eagle Builders was constructing quality concrete structures with service that went beyond expectations.

As production continued in the 10,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, word spread of the young company.

Bought our first 40 Ton RT Crane for installing concrete panels.

Began batching concrete in-house.

Leased a 10,000 sq ft building for manufacturing.

Purchased our first office space, a $30,000 Atco trailer. We were awarded our first commercial contract.

Relocated to Aspelund Industrial Park and built a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and an office space to house 10 people.

Became CPCI certified, added 40,000 sq ft to our manufacturing facility, and introduced new products.

Added 55,620 sq ft of infrastructure manufacturing space. Broke ground on a new 3-story office to house 100+ people.

Eagle Builders awarded the contract for Western Canada’s largest precast concrete parkade located in Vancouver, BC.

Expanded main manufacturing facility by 36,100 sq ft. Added a second manufacturing facility of 47,505 sq ft for hollowcore production.

OUR OWNERSHIP Dennis Haan, Craig Haan and Kevin Kooiker own and operate Eagle Builders. They share the responsibilities of executive decision making while each having a unique focus over daily operations.

As owners, Dennis, Craig and Kevin are responsible for overseeing the company’s health and safety program.

Craig desires to lead a life built on strong ethical and moral values that will set an example for his family and colleagues. While away from the office you may find Craig skiing, on a date with his wife, coaching hockey or volunteering within the community.

Kevin holds his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Lethbridge and has his PQS level 2 certification. Kevin started his construction career with Eagle Builders in 2004 and has been the managing director of the factory since 2009.

Craig started his career working for his father at a young age and has worked in every facet of the business from manufacturing to installation to sales.

Craig holds his Mobile Crane Red Seal Certification, Class 1 Drivers License and has constructed each type of building that we have the pleasure of manufacturing and constructing.

Kevin and his wife Becky have been happily married since 2005 and have four children. Kevin and Becky are active members within their community and are involved in many local organizations and community groups.

Weekends are most often for family.

Whether its travelling to new world destinations, camping, jet boating, quadding or snowboarding, you’ll find Dennis and his family doing these activities together.

With over 20 years of experience in precast concrete construction, Dennis has built every type of structure including agricultural buildings, commercial buildings, industrial warehousing, multi-family and multilevel senior facilities.

Dennis and his wife Mel have been happily married since 2006 and have four children. Dennis and Mel are active members within their community and support many local organizations and charities that are involved in the prosperity of their community.

Craig and his wife Kim have been happily married since 2005 and have three beautiful children together. Craig and Kim are active members within their church and community.

Kevin is looking forward to both the future growth of the company and the people who work for Eagle Builders.

Our manufacturing process includes strict production standards and rigorous testing practices to ensure that all our products not only meet industry standards but exceed them.

We operate CPCQA certified manufacturing facilities with certifications in Architectural, Bridge, and Commercial Structural Products: A1, BA4 and CA4.

Eagle Builders follows the CSA A23.4, PCI MNL-116 and MNL-117 standards.

H4 BASEBALL STADIUM Sylvan Lake, Alberta 38,075 SQ FT 5 days to erect shell 4 days to produce precast 7 months construction The home of the Sylvan Lake Gulls. H4 Baseball Stadium is made up of 130 pieces of precast, making use of 10” load bearing walls, 12”x24” columns, bleachers, beams & hollowcore. The dugouts were designed in house.

We used real brick, cast into the panels for a unique look that will last a lifetime.

The total weight of precast used in this projects was 1,608,268 lbs The floor, wall and roof are one solid piece with a total of 6 sections to meet the required length. A total of 60 precast bleacher sections were used.

EAGLE BUILDERS CENTRE Blackfalds, Alberta 99,082 sq ft 262 pieces of hollowcore 2.5 months precast production 560 precast components The home of the Blackfalds Bulldogs.

The arena expansion had to be designed around the existing arena, utilizing a unique cantilevered design to eliminate stress on the old building.

Precast was the material of choice for a public use building that experiences a lot of moisture and general abuse. With all the components being manufactured in Blackfalds, we were able to commit and hold our cost in an ever changing market, value engineering all of the building and eliminating columns in the design whenever possible.

BURMAN UNIVERSITY LIBRARY Lacombe, Alberta 18,027 usable sq ft 24 days to erect shell 212 precast concrete panels 104 hollowcore panels As an academic library, many functions coincide, from lecture halls, labs, material storage, meeting rooms, group study rooms, prayer spaces and administrative spaces. All with different noise tolerances and social interaction; some are quiet individual study spaces and others lively community-centred axis points.

A design was developed that flowed throughout the layout to create a series of triangular pockets utilized for unique study spaces - some loud and energetic, others quiet and contemplative. All of this communicated a design connected with the community’s deeply held values: “Think, Believe, Act.”

CENTRAL ALBERTA CHILD ADVOCACY CENTRE Red Deer, Alberta 23,302 sq ft building footprint 323 pieces of precast 6 months construction The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre (CACAC) is a non-profit organization that priortizes the needs of abused or neglected children. It is also an organization dear to Eagle Builders.

Obviously, the Centre had to be safe and comfortable to the youth and their families that utilize the facilities and had to speak to their needs. This building is unique and full of bright colour and personalized, treatment-focussed spaces.

SILENT ICE ARENA Nisku, Alberta 117,874 usable sq ft 85 days of precast installation 431 pieces of hollowcore 9 days of production Beginning construction in September 2022, our team wanted to ensure that the facility was hockey ready for the upcoming 2023 season. Our crews pushed through and delivered in 85 days, closing the building up to start interior finishings.

We worked around a few challenges so players could hit the ice while we completed the remaining spaces.

This facility boasts 3-levels, 2 NHL sized rinks, a restaurant and commercial kitchen, and 2 pro rooms. Channels were formed in the exterior concrete panels to provide the ability to run LED lights within the wall.
