The Creative Mill returns for the fifth year!
As part of their 20th anniversary celebration in 2013, Randall-Paulson Architects - inspired by National Arts and Humanities Month - decided to open their doors to friends, family, clients, and the public for an art show called The Creative Mill Art Exposition. The inaugural event featured 20 employees and local artists. Randall-Paulson was the first creative business in Roswell to sign up to host a NAHM event that year. For the next three years, RPA again hosted The Creative Mill Art Exposition as part of National Arts and Humanities Month. By 2016 the show had expanded to over 50 participants. The Creative Mill was also a featured stop on the Roswell Arts District’s First Friday Art Walk.
Randall-Paulson Architects is returning this year for the fifth anniversary of the Creative Mill Art Exposition. The event has more than tripled in size, featuring over 60 artists. Pieces displayed range from paintings, photographs and drawings, to pottery, turned wood pieces, and other creations. In order to prepare for the show this year, employees of RPA have been given the opportunity to spend time in Creative Mill Workshops that the firm hosts once a month. Here, the artists have the opportunity to work around other artists, where they can draw inspiration, and receive immediate feedback and critiques from their peers.
National Arts & Humanities Month (NAHM) is the largest annual celebration for the arts and humanities in the nation. October is National Arts & Humanities Month (NAHM) - a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America. NAHM was launched by Americans for the Arts 30 years ago as National Arts Week in honor of the twentieth anniversary of the National Endowment for the Arts. In 1993, it was reestablished by Americans for the Arts and national arts partners as a month-long celebration, with goals of: FOCUSING on the arts at local, state, and national levels; ENCOURAGING individuals and organizations to participate in the arts; ALLOWING governments and businesses to show their support of the arts; and RAISING public awareness about the role the arts and humanities play in our communities and lives. In 2015, President Obama officially proclaimed October as National Arts and Humanities Month.

About Randall-Paulson Architects Randall-Paulson Architects began in 1993 in the Distribution/Light Industrial and Retail markets and has since expanded to include Childcare, Education, Interiors, Government, Graphic Design, Hospitality, Office, Mixed-Use, Religious, Sustainability and Visualization. About Historic Roswell Mill Roswell Mill refers to a cluster of mills located in Fulton County near Vickery Creek in Roswell, Georgia. The mills were best known for producing finished textiles from raw materials grown on nearby plantations for the Confederacy during the Civil War. The group was “the largest cotton mill in north Georgia” at its height. The mill grew steadily, at one point producing wool and flour in addition to textiles. This diversification progressed through several phases of ownership well into the twentieth century, and the mill continued producing textiles until its eventual shutting down of operations in 1975.
Janine Adamo
Janine Adamo is an intuitive artist. Most of the time she begins her work without any preconceived ideas of what the finished work is going to look like. She uses layer after layer of experimentation until the painting reveals itself to her and comes to life. In her paintings you will find lots of texture. She creates texture in many different ways like painting straight from the bottle or using mixed medias like molding paste, joint tape, book text, sheet music, tape, ribbon, burlap ... anything she can incorporate onto the canvas and into the painting. She sees art as a window which allows the viewer not only to connect with the artist, but allows for personal introspection as well. As each person sees a work of art through the window of their own experiences, each of us sees art differently. Janine is a mother of two living in Georgia. After graduating with a Fine Arts Degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996, she moved to the Atlanta area where she has worked as a Graphic Designer for over 20 years. In 2011 she came full circle and started spending her time doing what she loves - painting. She set up a studio in her home and now shares her work and journey with the world. Since then her work has been in galleries like Artevaggio Art Gallery, Synergy Fine Art Gallery, Hudgens Center for the Arts, Arts Clayton Gallery and Johns Creek Art Center. She has had 2 solo exhibits at Phoenix and Dragon and also had her work up at Rev Coffee Roasters, Fickle Pickle and Johnny’s New York Pizza. She had a feature article in the Northside Woman Magazine written up about her journey and the role her art has played in her life. She also had 2 interviews, one by Creativeroom4talk and Artevaggio Art Gallery’s when she was their featured artist.
Tess Baudry
Tess is an Atlanta native with a degree in Architecture from Louisiana State University. She enjoys puppies, woodworking and symmetry. Through her art she has found the best of both worlds as a practical thinker with a love for bright colors. Her art is her therapy because nothing says ‘stress relief’ like sawdust in your lungs, the smell of polyurethane, and the sound of a loud saw.
Jane Biven
Jane is a contemporary abstract artist and native Atlantan, currently working in Roswell at her studio/gallery HalfBakedArt. She is self-taught, discovering her creative passion and signature style later in life. Pioneered and developed in 2012, her mixed media technique incorporates epoxy resin with acrylics and inks. The process involves layering, manipulation and the addition of a couple household chemicals, then finished with a propane torch.

meet the artists Barbara Brown
The artist lives in Flowery Branch on Lake Lanier and has a cabin in Black Mountain, North Carolina where she enjoys creating. Her art is colorful, has a bit of whimsy, and she says hopefully makes you feel happy. Barbara enjoys painting pet portraits often incorporating heavy brush strokes and use of the palette knife. She says , “It is a joy to see the eyes of a client light up when they see their furry friend on canvas.” When asked, “What subject is her most favorite to paint?”, she says there is not one. The subject just has to look enjoyable to paint and as though it needs to be put on canvas. Other works include custom painted furniture and décor specific pieces. Barbara retired from the Fulton County School System where she worked with Gifted and Talented students for over 30 years in all kinds of creative endeavors including art. On a part-time basis, she continues to enjoy placing these students in internships with professionals in the North Fulton community. Her works can be found at American Redemption in Suwanee, Georgia, and at Mountain Nest Gallery in Black Mountain. Past works have been found at Matilda’s in Roswell and Scottsdale Farms in Milton, Georgia.
Karina Caldera
Karina is 20 years young and prides herself on being a self-taught artist. She is particularly fond of abstract painting but she also enjoys the many other aspects of art. Karina is not shy of bold color combination and loves to use colors to evoke feelings. Painting for her has been a lifelong love affair. She has grown up around art and has a profound respect for all artists. Every day she learns something new and aspires to be the best she can be.
Heather Campbell
Heather was surrounded by a family of painters, photographers, and jewelry makers. Heather was immersed in creativity early in life and encouraged to express herself through art. As an only child, imagination and artistic expression were a huge part of her every day, and she often chose staying in and creating, instead of playing with friends. Heather was selected by her art teacher at the young age of 7 as her school’s representative in creating a large mural to be hung in her city’s hospital - an installation still in place today. Soon after, Heather turned inward due to a difficult family situation and abandoned almost all creative expression. After a lifetime without art, having children has brought her back to her roots. With the birth of her two girls, she is rediscovering her early interest in art making and is exploring that, as well as nurturing in her children a similar love of the creative process. Heather has a degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University and enjoys photography, drawing, dance, and painting.
Stephen Campbell
Originally from White Lake, Michigan, Stephen ventured into woodworking out of necessity over the last several years. What began as simple ideas and creations for his own home, quickly became a passion for both functional and artistic expression. While designing and creating custom pieces for clients, Stephen recently decided to expand into woodturning. Using mediums ranging from exotic wood species to acrylester and acrylic/wood hybrids, Stephen incorporates his love for woodworking into everyday items.
Kyle Carlson
Kyle started drawing when he was about 20 years old to use as an escape for a particularly rough part of his life and it quickly became his greatest passion in life. He tries to use art as an inspiration for anyone who thinks they can’t be creative, because anyone can be an artist if they truly want it and pushes themselves to get there.

Joanne is an interior designer, teacher, and artist.
Kasey Crawford
Kasey studied art and 3D design at Georgia Southern University. After graduation she ventured to Telluride for two years where she continued to explore her interest and love for jewelry making and painting. Kasey is currently working in advertising in Buckhead and in the beginning stages of starting leftoverlaughter.com a company focused on recycling old, broken jewelry and turning it into new, creative pieces.

meet the artists Melinda Crider
Melinda’s formal education began at the Atlanta College of Art, focusing on painting and sculpture. The Apprenticeship Program at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is where she began an in-depth study of clay and pottery for three years. Creating art is an outlet allowing her to liberate her emotions and express the inward pull to create something outside of herself that mirrors what is within. Her work is included in the permanent collections of Georgetown University, Kaiser Permanente, and St. Joesph’s Hospital among others. Recent Exhibits and Publications: Jules Collins Smith Museum, group juried exhibit “Alabama and Neighbors Ceramics”, Clay Times Magazine, Winter/Spring 2015, Sights and Insights, juried by Alan Avery, Spruill Arts Center, honorable mention award, Family Life Magazine Sept. 2015, feature artist, Fulton County Arts and Cultural Exhibition, juried by Mid-South Sculptural Alliance.
Sara de Vallette
Sara is a Georgia Southern graduate and an interior designer for Randall-Paulson Architects. She loves animals, her dog Hayden, and painting with her fingers.
Kathy Broyles
Kathy began painting with oils around 2007 and was hooked. She painted when she could and attended classes and workshops as her work schedule allowed. Now Kathy is diving in full-time. She has recently moved into a studio and is excited about the next chapter. Recently her work has taken an interpretive direction, incorporating various symbols to convey an emotion, a dream or a reality. Her hope is that each painting she creates touches at least one person - that it conjures up a memory, triggers a smile, kindles joy or brings about a feeling of peace.
Amy Durant
Growing up on a farm in rural Georgia, the balance of life and death within the overarching beauty of nature were part of Amy’s daily life. As she embraced self-expression through art, those early impressions have informed her art, bringing her to a place of healing. As a teacher, she tries to bring that same sense of creative self-awareness to her students, encouraging them to explore art in their own unique ways. Amy currently resides in the metro Atlanta area with her husband, children, and a family of crows.
Michelle Embry
Michelle was born in Jamaica and moved with her family to the United States when she was about10. She is a widower and has two adult daughters and one grandson. Michelle attended The University of Rochester for a few years. She was a pre-med major but also took a few art classes as well. Currently she holds an AS in Health Information Technology Information from DeVry University but she has never lost her creative spirit. While in high school, her art teacher indicated that she had a propensity for manipulating color. Michelle was trained in the use of pastels, pen and ink, charcoal and oil paints. She rediscovered her love for art when she uncovered a paint set gifted to her in high school several years ago while unpacking. Michelle also discovered that she loves the free but complex nature of abstract art. Michelle went public in April 2016 with her first show and has participated in the Decatur Art Walk, shown at the Bold Movers Expo in October 2016 and participated in the Raw Artist Show held at Underground this past December. For Michelle, art is a means of unspoken expression that transcends all barriers. It has the ability to uplift, to create conversation, comfort and even evoke thought; it speaks to the soul and adds value to the life of its owner. I love the manipulation of color and texture, the ebb and flow as the paints merge and meld into new hues as each painting takes on its own life force. Karin Green
Karin Keuller Green is an accomplished Registered Architect and specializes in high-end custom home design for both primary and vacation homes. Her knowledge in environmentally conscious designs and construction stems from over 20 years of experience in the Atlanta market as well as its favorite vacation destinations. Originally from Brussels, Belgium, she loves connecting with people and building new relationships. Each client comes to her with specific dreams and desires, and it is with determination and care that Karin helps each and every person achieve their unique home ownership goals. In Karin’s experience, it is through establishing trust and continued communication that success is built. Karin takes pride in knowing that her clientele come solely as a result of her design reputation and referrals from other satisfied clients.

meet the artists Nicole Goldman
Born and raised in Georgia, Nicole discovered art and drawing at a young age as a way of expressing herself in her large and boisterous family. She explored her passion for art throughout her formative years and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting. In 2012, due to her battle with Ulcerative Colitis, Nicole returned to her drawing roots unable to sustain enough energy for painting. The artist explores the minute details of watch mechanics in her graphite and colored pencil drawings. She breaths new life into broken antiques just as drawing helped her broken body and mind recover. She approaches each drawing with a sensitivity to depth and color to create photorealistic images. Nicole was featured in the September 2017 issue of Colored Pencil Magazine and was the Creative Mill’s 2016 People’s Choice Award recipient.
Anna Gosselin
Anna has designer at Randall-Paulson Architects for over two years now. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has grown a passion for art, dance, and design which she explored further at Savannah College of Art and Design. Drawing is a method of thinking and communicating concepts, light and shadow, building and landscape, and the human form.
Julie Grudger
The inspiration for Julie’s art is drawn from everyday life; her paintings reflect ideas, emotions and expressions that come from the heart. Her primary media is acrylic on canvas – she loves the workability of acrylic paint and the flexibility of drying times she can play with. Lately she has dabbled with the fluidity of acrylic inks and alcohol inks. Recent work has been inspired by her vivacious little girl, Jaynee and her zest for life and shining personality. She loves how Jaynee stops and admires the littlest things such as a ladybug on a path to a flower in the garden. This energy and pace has given Julie a new appreciation for the things and beauty around her and in turn her work now has more vibrancy and depth of color than it has in the past. Julie is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and a minor in Art History. She ventured into advertising as well for a short period, obtaining a certificate in Art Direction from the Creative Circus in Atlanta. Currently, she and her family reside in Smyrna, Georgia just outside of Atlanta and have for over twelve years.
Laurie Henry
Laurie Henry, a Georgia based artist, is known for bright expressions of color in her oil paintings. Her love of the ocean and birds is her main focus but she dabbles in many subject matters to keep her creative juices flowing and to alleviate boredom. Laurie has studied oil painting with professional artists and through workshops. She enjoys painting many different subjects, but she has a fond connection with painting water and boats. Born in Florida, she spent a lot of time around the ocean living in Jacksonville and Key West before moving to Georgia. She loves staring at the ocean and walking on the beach. “It calms me and makes me happy. I feel the same way when I paint it too.�
Kirsten Hirt
From an early age, Kirsten knew exactly what she was put on this earth to do. In fact, she told her teachers in the first grade that she did not need to learn to read or how to do math because she was going to be an artist. In college she studied oil painting, but Kirsten has certainly not felt the need to stop there. She has evolved into a versatile artist who works in a variety of media. Her inspiration comes from the things that evoke the strongest emotions in life; both positive and negative. She is an animal lover and a people watcher with a quirky sense of humor and a penchant for anything that is ridiculous, bawdy, or absurd. Needless to say, life will never stop providing her plenty of things to paint and draw.
David Hobby
David is a man of the woods; he knows the birds of land and sea and their songs; he knows the ways of the woodland animals; he can identify the trees of the forest and knows the qualities of each; he knows the denizens of the oceans and lakes and is notably skilled at catching them. He brings this deep knowledge and intimate rapport with nature into his work as an artist in wood. Whether carving bird, animal, fish or tray, he reveals the unique character of each particular wood, each particular life form, seeming to capture its living presence in every hair, every fishy scale, every feather, every meticulous cut and curve.

Amanda is a children’s hair stylist who decided to get in touch with her creative side. She paints eye-catching, colorful, fluid art suitable for any home. She recently started a business called Chroma Storm Arts and a YouTube channel by the same name for people to witness her pour her beautiful creations. The best thing about her art is there is nothing that can be duplicated, not even by the creator. All pieces are completely unique.
Christina Hogan
Christina is a thriving local cake decorator who loves to put art in anything she creates. She loves to paint anything from canvas to fingernails and enjoys creating eye-popping cakes. Her favorite things to paint are pictures of the natural occurring beauty of nature. Christina someday dreams to draw or animate for Disney Studio and take her art to the next level.
Greg Holliday
Greg Holliday is a self taught artist who relies upon his inherited talent. His use of color and emotion is visible in each work. Greg works in acrylics, oils and wax as well as other media on canvas, paper and panel. He works on large canvases where his art displays remarkable depth and patina. Greg’s artwork is influenced by Rothko, DeKooning, Kline and Pollock. He works with a wide color palette. His finished artwork is characterized by attention to detail, shape, color and balance. Greg often leaves his work untitled as to not obscure the imagination of the viewer. He believes art is personal for everyone. He lives in Atlanta with his partner Seth and dogs Truman and Axel.
Sidney Howman
Sid is a Landscape Architect working with Paulson Mitchell in Roswell, Georgia. Prior to residing in Georgia, Sidney has lived in Florida and Canada and has enjoyed creating images from those various environments.
Mary Jane Huegel
Mary Jane pours her passion for beauty into her peaceful and colorful creations. She spent her childhood exploring the beautiful mountain scenery of Eastern Kentucky. Her paintings reflect her vivid memories and impressions of how the light danced through the leaves in the trees. She was captivated by the intensity of the golds and greens that decorated the hills and hollows around her rugged homeland. This electrifying terrain, with such warm and vibrant colors, became the inspiration for her artistic expressions.
Korleigh Ivie
Korleigh has worked in architectural design firms for her entire professional career leading marketing, business development and public relations. As Marketing Manager for Randall-Paulson Architects, she applies her creative skills and analytic expertise for the firm. She brings a fresh approach, high energy and a unique perspective focusing on what the firm has to offer. She currently lives in East Cobb with her husband, two children, and their boxer.
Donna Jassman
Born and raised in sunny Satellite Beach, Florida, Donna Jassman graduated with a Journalism Degree from the University of Florida. Donna then used her creative talents as an Art Director in advertising with clients consisting of Disney’s Celebration, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Dollar Rent A Car. During her career, she mastered watercolor painting through private lessons and workshops from distinguished artists. She has sold multiple commissions and participated in numerous Juried Art Festivals all over the state of Florida. In 2001, she moved to Georgia with her husband John and two children. Her focus shifted to portraits for clients and murals for the next ten years. Donna joined the Tannery Row Artist Colony in 2013 creating art in watercolors, acrylic and mixed media. Currently, she is experimenting with Pebeo Medium creating fluid, vibrant works.
Dana Jenny
At a young age, Dana Jenny showed tremendous promise as an artist. Her talent was evident from early on when she began creating intricately detailed drawings. In college, her passion and desire overwhelmed her and she abandoned her studies in Mechanical Engineering to fully devote her learning and life to creating. After dabbling in various mediums, she finally found her true passion in jewelry and metalworking. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Jewelry and Metals. Currently, she works for a local trade shop in Marietta, Georgia to expand upon her abilities to manipulate gold and platinum. Dana also likes to add some humor into her art work by using irony, for example: her Liver Flask and Black Lung Case. Alongside her work as a bench jeweler, Dana established her own business, Twin Bat Metals in 2014. Her works are available via her Etsy store of the same name and can be seen in independent craft shows throughout the southeast. In the future, she intends to use all the techniques she’s learned to create even more intricately designed wearable artwork. Dana will never stop learning and creating, and hopes to discover brand new techniques that she can share with the world.

meet the artists Shawn Jones
Born with a paint brush in her mouth…okay, not really. From an early age Shawn has been building, painting, weaving and making art from traditional materials. As she explored ideas and designs, she moved to more nontraditional material and found possibilities in everything from recycling eye glass lenses into an orb chandelier to add some bling to an optometrist’s lobby, to making beaded and woven leather jewelry to bling up your person. Her background in design and architecture guides her designs. In this show, Shawn will be showing her jewelry because we are all special and unique and unique bling can help make us feel that way!
Fasil Kassa
Fasil Kassa is an illustrator from Grayson, Georgia. Fasil studied architecture at Georgia Tech and worked as an architectural designer for a few years before switching to illustration full time. His subject matter ranges from caricatures to superheros.
Jenny King
Jenny King is a professional visual artist specializing in mixed media and oils. She has a distinct style, usually with an ethereal focal point being her identifying signature. She also has a remarkable talent to translate her clients’ stories into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. “I listen to their story. I feel their story. And then I translate their story onto canvas in my unique artistic way.” Jenny’s “unique artistic way” includes layers of color, musical note sheets, specific textures and papers, and other relevant elements to represent the intangibles and nuances of your story.
Brenton Klopp
Brenton is not an artist in the truest sense of the word; he is an explorer who at times stumbles into the discovery of art. His use of multiple medias, the combination of chemicals or even the choice of canvas can seem to be extremely thought out or haphazardly thrown together, yet he finds joy in the fact that the end result is always different. He is continually searching and exploring; there is no art without adventure.
Lauren Klopp
Lauren was born in Houston, Texas but grew up in the mountains of North Georgia. She has always loved to create new things ever since she was young, always trying new media and textures. Her first passion has been watercolors, but she has been working with more textures and molds lately. She will be adding to her education in the arts in 2018. She will be taking a few fashion and design classes at The London School of Fashion in England. So look forward to more creations by Lauren Elizabeth Klopp in the future!
Isabella Kueller
Isabella is a self-taught artist. Her main focus is realistic horses and other animals. She mostly works with pen, pencil, and alcohol-based markers.
Nicole Miles
Nicole is a graphic designer, working with Randall-Paulson Architects and vivid south in Roswell, Georgia for almost five years. Originally from Fayette County, Nicole is a two-time Georgia Southern University graduate with a degree in interior design, graphic design and a minor in art history. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym, playing with her fur-babies (Sadie, Dude, Franklin, Myrtle, Orville, & Winston), reading, painting, and photography, along with other design related, creative activities, including her own personal graphic design business - ramsey creative.

meet the artists Sandra Milton
Sandra has been involved with the arts community for 30 years from teaching to serving as a judge for the 2008 Roswell Arts Festival. She is the 1990s founder and co-director of H.B.R. Gallery and also founded SLM Studio/Gallery in 1998 to host the first N.F. Regional Juried Art Exhibit in partnership with the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. In 2006 SLM Projects was conceived under new directorship introducing cultural diversity to the Roswell community within the inaugural exhibit of renowned painting Phillip Morsberger. In 2007 she was nominated for the Distinguished Visual Artist Award and the co-recipient of the first Roswell Cultural Arts Board Choice Award in 2008. In 2016, Sandra’s work was included in the DFAA, Spruill Gallery “Sights & Insights” show juried by Alan Avery. She was honored to be selected for the “Artist Profile” in the July 2016 North Fulton Family Life Magazine.
Catherine Moore
Trained initially as a fundamental watercolorist, Catherine learned to mix colors to create black and leave the white of the paper for her whites. Because she also learned to use her paints in a glazing fashion, her mixed media works contain many layers of paint; texture and dimension. She currently works in water media, pastel, and mixed media on paper and canvas. Catherine also constructs digital mixed media paintings with her own images. Moore’s work is greatly influenced by her Christian faith. She thanks God for using her as an expression of His love, and has been so enriched by the Worship Arts Ministry at Roswell UMC. She has a great love for music – especially the piano. After so many years of studying to play, Catherine began representational paintings of her piano on paper and canvas, and has completed ten pieces in this series. She retired after 17 years as co-owner and ultimately sole director of Heaven Blue Rose Contemporary Gallery here in Historic Roswell, and re-focused her attention to church and family. Sharing her past expertise, she joined the committee to launch the Visual Arts ministry, and moving forward, Charis Gallery was founded in 2010, under the direction of Dr. Michael O’Neal. She continues an active co-curator role in gallery exhibits, presentations, and congregational shows. Catherine now works at home in her studio, C Moore Art, LLC, where she enjoys the challenge of new projects, commissioned pieces, and exhibit themes.
Kelsey Petty
Kelsey considers herself a “jack of all trades and a master of none” when it comes to art. Her creative outlets include photography, painting, woodworking, videography, pottery, graphic design, and sketching. Since her main muse is travel, Kelsey likes to share her experiences in a meaningful way through the various mediums she explores.
Abby Ramsey
Abby is a Georgia Southern nutrition major who is studying to be a personal trainer and just made the decision to join the Army as a Preventative Medicine Specialist. Born and raised in Georgia, she enjoys going to the gym, reading, and many artistic endeavors.
Michael Randall
Michael is a Principal at Randall-Paulson Architects. He does photography as a hobby and stress reliever.

Daniela was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. When she was little she always had a paper and pencil in hand, whether she was in her father’s studio or in a restaurant with a napkin. She went to SCAD for Architecture School, and after taking an off campus program in the southern hills of France, she understood the meaning of site and place through body and emotion. Due to the lack of technology and availability of materials, she chose to only rely on re-used cardboards, napkins, and charcoal pencil to present her ideas in studio. This is where she developed her passion towards the use of mixed media for architectural concepts, which she continued to solidify all the way through thesis. For her, the meaning rests in the process, not in the final result. Incompleteness, mark making (experience) and nostalgia are present concepts in her work. She says, “The setting is never truly defined, since it can always be re-interpreted by the viewer and their individual recollection of memories.”

meet the artists Adrienne Rodden
Adrienne showed artistic promise even as a child. She was enrolled in Kennesaw State University’s Adult Continuing Education art courses at the age of eight. Her interest in drawing and painting was peaked further when she focused on her skills while attending school. During college, her skills flourished. Adrienne has over18 years of design and art experience. Her works, both decorative and artistic, can be found internationally. Her skill set includes art restoration, residential and commercial design, exterior design, renovations and new builds, commission artwork, investment property consulting, staging, faux painting, and more. In her spare time, Adrienne enjoys competitive horseback riding, painting, music, and extensive traveling with her family.
Deb Rosenbury
Deb Rosenbury grew up in northern Indiana where she always had a special interest in art. After graduation, she moved into corporate America. To further explore her creative interest, she attended Interior Design classes at Indiana University. Through moves to Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Tennessee, and ultimately to Atlanta, Georgia, she continued to add creative experiences. While living in Texas, she started an interior design business. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee and had to restart her business from scratch. Eventually she opened her own home interior store. Working in interior design and creating beautiful living spaces with fabrics, paints, patterns, and accessories always spoke to her soul. After landing in Atlanta, she started a cottage business making charming, handcrafted items for local home stores. It began taking over her home so she moved into an artist studio space in 2013 now known as the Urban Art Collective. While being a part of the artist studio she became inspired to try painting. It totally consumed her. Once she picked up a paint brush there was no turning back. Being primarily self-taught, she was free to experiment and calls it one of the best decisions she ever made.
Lindsey Rush Hawkins
Lindsey Rush Hawkins, also known as L. Rush, is an artist and designer in the Atlanta area. Her personal artwork can be found on exhibit in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, and in art shows such as Trinity, Work of Our Hands, and Dragon Con. Issues of forgiveness, love, spirituality, and surreal relationships with nature are main focal areas of her work. These issues are expressed through the visual use of symbols, landscapes, textures, and color schemes. Much of Lindsey’s inspiration comes from her childhood growing up on a farm in Southern Indiana. She still has dreams about the farmhouse and fields of open land. Within the farm community, Lindsey was in 4-H for ten years and still is just a country girl at heart. Throughout the years, her graphic design career has taken her to San Francisco, New York City, Indianapolis, Chicago, and currently she has settled into the Atlanta area.
Mauricio Salmon
Mauricio was born in Lima, Peru and grew up in Miami, Florida and attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL and received a BFA in illustration in 2006. He current lives in Atlanta where he works full time as a graphic artist for a children’s apparel company. “If I’m not drawing or painting, I’m outside running, checking out the local bookstore or spending time watching Netflix.”
Jamie Schlenker
As a daughter of a pilot, Jamie’s love of travel started at a very young age and has grown into a passion as an adult. The photographs in the Creative Mill are from her 2017 trips around the United States. As a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Architecture & Design, many of the photographs focus on the built environment within the cities she toured. Today, she designs, produces drawings, and provides construction administrative services at Randall-Paulson Architects.
Hollyn Scott
Hollyn is currently living in Atlanta and creates digital designs inspired by geometry and spirituality. Her abstracts are intended to represent the colors and shapes she sees when she meditates as well as to showcase the relationship between dualities, such as logic and emotion.
Amanda Selmer
Amanda is a twenty-two-year-old artist and student from Canton, Georgia. She slings coffee in the morning and draws comics and paints at night, all while finishing her BFA in sequential arts at SCAD. She usually makes comics, but because she recently had a break from school, she took it as an opportunity to experiment with illustrative techniques with acrylic paints. Her paintings in the show are based off the soothing and somber feeling she has when she sees pastel pink.

Stephanie Stein
Stephanie, originally from Michigan, is currently based out of Atlanta, Georgia. As a metalsmith and jewelry designer, she loves to keep things fresh and to surprise people. It’s as much about being creative and being inspired as it is about making pieces people will love. She believes that it’s a beautiful thing to see someone wearing one of her creations. Stephanie is inspired by nature and biology. The concept of her work is to make repetitive plant and biological patterns in metal. The idea of the completed metalwork is to be worn as a sort of “jewelry” on the body to show how the microorganism can literally invade one’s self. The rough surfaces and patterns represent invasive cells, plants, creatures, and parasites that invade our lives and environments every day.
John Stantz
John is an artist, architect, craftsman, thinker, writer. He began painting as a teenager, a creative response to his environment growing up in the rural South. Throughout other adventures, he worked alongside his father and brother as a carpenter into his mid-twenties. He eventually pursued and received a degree in Architecture from Mississippi State University in 2004. Since 2005, John has worked for Randall-Paulson Architects in Roswell, Georgia. In May of 2012, he became a licensed architect and is currently Studio Director and an Associate with the same firm. Through the years, John’s art has served to not only reconcile his view of the world with his overactive imagination but more importantly has been a place of personal solace. A self-taught artist, his primary focus has been to attempt to give abstract form to abstract thought, to explore how color and texture can form a vessel into which anyone might pour their own emotion and interpretation. His other artistic wanderings include photography, furniture design, music, writing. From his East Atlanta home, John authors a blog discussing life, politics, art, music, and architecture, related from his singular, erudite, and humorous point of view at onthedailyjs.blogspot.com. Tina Stoffel
Tina Stoffel was born and raised in Indiana. As her mother’s only child, she was often bored which led her to taking an interest in drawing. Her single mother noticed she had potential and saved enough money to buy her a Jon Gnagy art kit. Tina’s talent grew and led her to take several classes in junior high and high school. As seen reflected in her work, nature, animals, art and music have always fascinated Tina who specializes in oil paintings. Tina says she finds peace and happiness through nature, animals and music. Through her art, Tina wants her viewers to be able to immerse themselves into her paintings and drift away from the everyday stresses life presents. Although she was on course to major in art, life took a different turn for a while as she had to make her way in the world. Other than a few classes and courses after high school, Tina is a self-taught painter who has learned through books and professional organizations about proper techniques and materials. She takes great pride in the quality of her work, using professional artist quality materials and practices that yield high quality workmanship. Through past experience, Tina has learned to take a positive approach toward her work and life in general. Her art studio is where she feels the happiest.
Jerry Sullivan
Jerry is a retired advertising agency owner. He began painting full-time ten years ago. He’s always felt a connection to nature. His work is a free-flowing collaboration between what he sees and feels. On location and occasionally with the aid of photographs, he paints a snapshot through his own personal filter - a filter of oils, pastels, harmony, and pure joy. Jerry studied at a string of institutions - the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, the University of Wyoming, and the Burnley School of Art - and in the end, found himself wooed by the financial security of the commercial arts. But it wasn’t enough. Sullivan stayed loyal to his art throughout the decades and is now dedicated to it full-time. Sullivan’s influences are Cezanne, Van Gogh, Degas, and Kandinsky.
Karen Sullivan
Karen graduated from Wichita State University where she studied art under Corbin LePell. She graduated with a BA in Art Education and went on to teach art in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She moved to Atlanta in1966 and studied art under Joe Perrin. She has exhibited her paintings in several galleries around Roswell.

meet the artists Jacob Wheeler
Born William Jacob Wheeler, he was born and raised in the Atlanta area. The eldest of three boys, he found himself willingly engulfed in sports and competition at an early age. At the age of eight years old his life would change forever; Jacob developed a heart defect. After visiting doctor after doctor, wearing heart monitors to school and bed for three years, Jacob was eventually diagnosed. After being diagnosed, Jacob had his first of seven heart procedures that were spread out over the next nineteen years of his life. Needless to say, the trials and tribulations, forced acceptance of his mortality, and his great appreciation for life starting at such a young age have all been the biggest influence in his writing and art. Jacob clearly sees life in such a unique way and it is no more evident than what you find when you experience his art. Jacob’s education in writing and poetry has not gone your typical route. With college scholarships for sports no longer being an option and any further education beyond high school not being possible because of his health, Jacob leaned on his high school mentors. Jacob had always used poetry as a way to release what was inside. It wasn’t until he was under the tutelage of Annette Tucker and Dr. Sylvia Spruill late in high school, that he was encouraged and began to share his writings and poetry. With the understanding that Jacob would not be afforded the benefit of furthered education, they pressed him, pushed him, taught him, and gave him the confidence and advice to never stop writing. Today, Jacob has taken his life experiences and molded them into something physical and visual. After much inner debate, Jacob decided to enter the art world with his creations in hand. Showing his art for the first time at a private viewing in the Atlanta area, his art was well received and the invitees were blown away as they had never experienced art like this before. He has since shown his work to crowds of 1,000+, including exhibits throughout Atlanta and NYC, he has been the subject of a two-page article in the New York Post, and has been featured in nationwide television broadcasts on both FOX and ESPN. Jacob currently lives just outside of the metro Atlanta area. Traveling often for inspiration, he hopes to continue to travel the world to show the art that he creates.
Justin Wilkins
Justin Wilkins aka Callmesense is a Visual Artist and Designer whose unique style reflects Eastern, Abstract, Anime style art.
Letha Williams
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Letha is known as the Modern Day Master of Nails. Letha uses a wide variety of mediums. She has developed many of her own mixed media techniques with different types of hardware and mixtures. Nail Art is a technique she has become an expert in by creating beautiful nail designs. Her work has been exhibited in private showings. She exhibited a private showing of her work at the Roswell Cultural Art Center in 1999 and 2001. Since then much of her success is due to social media and networking. The exhibits and private showings have featured the paintings Mississippi Harvest, Tennessee Cotton pickers, and Screen Illusions. Screen Illusions is a technique she created using a mixture of mediums and wire. In between family and creating beautiful artwork, Letha works a full-time job with IHG. Letha is dedicated to her work as an artist, for the past twelve months she has worked anywhere from three to six hours daily on her collection. Letha’s work was recently displayed at the 2017 RAW Artists Event (CUSP) held at Underground Atlanta. Her work was displayed in a private showing for Intercontinental Hotels Group employees in 2016. Through hard work and commitment, Letha is creating a new collection. The ME Collection, was featured on Friday, April14, 2017 in Roswell, Georgia.
Kelly Wright
Kelly Wright is from the Kennesaw Area and new to the “art world.” She is a self-taught artist mainly focusing on critters and fur babies. She loves anything that has to do with nature and the outdoors. Her passion is giving back so half of any purchase goes to charity. Those charities can be viewed at awrightcause.com.
Our Music for the Night: Curbe Dreher
Curbe Zigfield Dreher is a guitarist, drummer and freelance recording engineer who has played musical instruments since the age of nine years old. A master of Rock and Metal, he also loves playing and teaching Jazz, Funk, Blues, and Pop. Curbe holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Technology from Georgia State University, where he also studied jazz guitar with Dave Frackenpohl and improvisation with Mace Hibbard. He performed at the 2014 Macy’s Day Parade with the Georgia State University Marching band, where he played alongside YouTube drumming sensation C00p3rdrumm3r. He also plays solo jazz guitar for art shows, weddings, and other formal events around the Atlanta area.
