Dear WT Community, It is with deep gratitude that I share this report of our capital campaign, Celebrate WT: Campaign for a Smart Future. Because of the generosity of this community, we not only reached our goal, but surpassed it—raising more than $21.5 million! Two years, scores of volunteers, hundreds of events, and more than 1,200 donors combined to drive our school to: n Make important strides forward in faculty development and compensation n Strengthen our ability to welcome promising young people who otherwise would be unable to afford a WT education n Endow our vital City as Our CampusSM program n Renovate our Athletics Wing n Create a real theater for our Performing Arts program Celebrate WT Results n Develop Outdoor Classrooms for our youngest learners as of 8.31.2015 n Make our Main Building greener Raised for I am most proud of the fact that throughout this campaign our focus never veered from Endowment WT’s mission. INNOVATION Facts to Celebrate: Celebrate WT funded increases in faculty salaries and decreases in healthcare costs so that WT teacher compensation and benefits are aligned with benchmark independent schools. A substantial increase in WT’s professional development budget and the establishment of a Dean of Faculty position—both funded by the Campaign—mean that every teacher is involved in meaningful professional development, from international study, to national conferences, to online learning, to pursuit of advanced degrees. WT’s entrepreneurial and innovative faculty are developing City as Our CampusSM learning experiences that touch every student at WT.

VITALITY Facts to Celebrate:

By adding $8.6 million to the endowment, WT has built a more robust core asset that will generate an additional $430,000 in annual operating revenue. WT’s endowment is now valued at more than $15 million; when the pledges from this campaign are fully realized, endowment-per-student will exceed the National Association of Independent Schools benchmark of $25,000 per student. Celebrate WT added $4 million in endowed funds for need-based financial aid, and nearly $3 million for City as Our CampusSM.

PRESERVATION & SUSTAINABILITY Facts to Celebrate: Through the Campaign, WT invested more than $700,000 to help bring the 52-year-old Main Building closer to a 21st century level of sustainability—from replacing the original boilers, to insulating the ceilings of the gym and auditorium, to water- and electricity-saving fixtures that will have lasting impact, just like the building itself! The energy efficiency measures that were incorporated into the renovation of the Athletics Wing and Auditorium have been analyzed for potential cost savings of $40,000 per year.
