WELCOME Our pupils are put at the centre of everything we do. We are passionate about providing an exciting learning journey for each child where they are encouraged to challenge themselves in a safe environment. As an academy, we are proud of our inclusive culture in which each child is valued and nurtured, given opportunities to succeed and develops a love for learning.   E-ACT Greenfield Academy is situated in Knowle West and we are fortunate to have a wonderful setting in which to educate our pupils. The site is comprised of a large outdoor space that boasts a forest school area, a large hall and separate dining hall, library and Thrive space run by our very own practitioner. We also have some fantastic furry friends that the pupils attend to! We value our community immensely and work together to ensure that our pupils get the best possible start in life. We have our very own community hub in which workshops are held as well as coffee mornings. Our Academy not only wants children to achieve academically: it values their personal, social, moral and emotional development. We want our children to leave Greenfield well-rounded, knowledgeable, resilient and ready for their next learning adventure. We look forward to welcoming you to the Greenfield community.

S U H T I W N LEAR – YOUR CHILD’S FIRST STEPS We fully appreciate the different emotions that you will be feeling about your child’s first steps into their educational journey. That’s why at E-ACT Greenfield Academy we ensure your child is fully supported when they join our loving Academy. We believe that a rich and engaging curriculum is every child’s entitlement so that they develop a lifelong love of learning, equipping them for their future. At E-ACT Greenfield Academy, we believe in creating strong foundations of knowledge and skills for all of our pupils, allowing them to build on their learning. Using an engaging and exciting curriculum, we are able to support each child to discover and develop their interests and talents.

RTING SEND PU O PIL PP U S S

We are here to help parents understand how they can support their child if they have a special educational need and/or a disability. We value parents/carers as partners in their child’s learning, the voice of each parent/carer is sought regularly throughout the year. Careful consideration is given to the curriculum in order to maintain high aspirations and expectations for all learners whilst ensuring that the right support and scaffolding is in place so that success is achieved by all. We have a full time SENDCO who is also our designated teacher for looked after children.

6

greenfieldacademy.e-act.org.uk

Our curriculum evolves each year to suit the needs of our pupils, and although topics may start with a similar stylus, we are more than happy for our children to work with their teachers to direct where their learning journeys take them. We are firm believers that learning happens in an engaging environment through the medium of play. We have undercover outside areas that are used all year-round with a ‘tinkering table’ that encourages critical thinking, problem solving and nurtures your child’s imagination.

Phonics

underpins the application and early development of sound reading skills. You will be amazed with your child’s development and you will soon be reading together!

MATHS

a highly connected subject; each piece of learning influences the next. We incorporate maths into everyday activities to master the skills.

SUBJECTS

throughout the year, your child will learn different subjects such as science, music, art and history. All will be taught in an engaging, interactive way to deepen understanding of the world around them.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED? We truly believe the key to your child’s success is working closely with you. You will have regular updates through Tapestry to see what your child has been focussing on. One of the most important elements parents/ carers can help with is reading at home. We encourage parents and children to read at least three times a week, but we recommend five times a week to help with progression in other subjects.
